I had stayed here back when it was a Kanpo no Yado, but I didn’t remember much, so this was essentially a new visit for me. It was great. There was an all-you-can-drink option in the lounge, the meals were satisfying, and the hot springs were excellent. The room, including the sink area and toilet, was clean and comfortable. There is no individual air conditioning in each room; the entire building uses a centralized system, which might be an issue for guests who are extremely sensitive to heat or cold. It wasn’t a problem for me.

I stayed here on a business trip to Nagoya. This was my second visit, and once again I am truly grateful for your wonderful hospitality. The building’s design, with its extensive use of glass, is beautiful, and with the facilities being new, everything was spotless and impeccably clean. The meals and hot springs were excellent, the room was spacious, and the price was reasonable—making it another flawless stay. This time I also had more time, so I visited the adjacent Urakuen Garden as well. It was a fantastic place, and I sincerely appreciate being able to enter free of charge as a guest benefit. Inuyama is also conveniently located just over 30 minutes from Nagoya Station, so I would love to stay again on my next business trip to Nagoya. Thank you very much.

Having stayed with our dog at many luxury hotels in Japan and abroad, this was—without exaggeration—one of the very best stays we’ve ever had, easily competing for No. 1 or No. 2. If I were to compare it internationally, it was so exceptional that I genuinely couldn’t decide whether it surpasses the Manor at Capella Singapore. It was a stunning detached villa suite that stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top luxury hotels. We stayed for two nights from 9/20 as a family of three with our dog. Because a typhoon was approaching, we arrived earlier than planned, but the staff handled everything politely and smoothly and escorted us to our room about two hours earlier than the standard check-in time. Before our stay, I read every review on Ikkyu, and it felt like many of the past concerns had been addressed. I was also impressed by how sincerely they seem to take guest feedback. Since this two-night stay cost around JPY 1,000,000, I was slightly worried about whether the experience would truly match the price—but the sense of exclusivity in Annex (No.100) exceeded all expectations. The dedicated parking space, an approximately 300㎡ private dog run, a two-story/two-bedroom layout, in-room dining available exclusively for this room, complimentary champagne and free drinks in the refrigerator, and private dining rooms when using the restaurant—all of these thoughtfully differentiated touches made perfect sense for what we paid. The meals were especially outstanding—clearly a level above any hotel we’ve stayed at before. The matsutake course and clay-pot rice were exquisite, and on our second night they prepared an entirely different menu from the first day. To truly experience RETONA at its best, I strongly recommend staying at least two nights—and if possible in this villa suite (though I’m sure their other rooms are wonderful as well). It became an unforgettable three days worthy of celebrating my daughter’s 12th birthday and our dog’s 6th birthday. We are deeply grateful to all staff members for their attentive support throughout—including their thoughtful email communication before arrival. If I may mention just one small request: there was a spider web on the ceiling above the sink area. We fully understand that insects are common given the lush natural setting—and it was something we could remove ourselves—but checking even higher areas would make everything even more perfect. Next time we will definitely return as a family to stay in the same room again in spring or summer to enjoy seasonal dishes in another season. This has become one of my favorite luxury hotels—thank you very much indeed.

Both the space and the hospitality were very comfortable. At the end of dinner, rice and eel were served, but the eel was tough and the seasoning wasn’t to my taste. The rice was very delicious. As a Diamond member gift, I received rice. I plan to cook it in a clay pot. The bath is on the small side, but it was very clean with a faint sulfur scent—truly the best Onsen I’ve ever experienced. I was worried because I had facial allergies, but instead the itching went away and the redness subsided. Once again, I was impressed by the power of nature. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Everything was great except that the Room was so hot I could barely sleep. There was a fan in the Room, so I should have turned it on, but I couldn’t be bothered to get up, plug it in, and switch it on, so I just endured it until morning. After taking a bath in the evening, I enjoyed 4 of the 12 kinds of complimentary shochu in the lounge. Then live music started as well, and it was such a lovely time relaxing on a comfortable sofa. For the shochu, ice, cold water, and hot water are provided, so you can drink it however you like. As is often the case with buffets, it was quite crowded at mealtime, but there were also Kagoshima local dishes, which made it fun.

Since there was no air conditioning, it was too hot to stay inside until the evening, but it was cool and comfortable at night. The toilet is a little far away, but it was clean. It’s dark on the way to the bath, so a headlamp is useful to have. The BBQ hamburgers were delicious.

This was my first time staying at this Hotel, recommended by my daughter-in-law. When I informed the staff about our significantly delayed check-in, they responded kindly and professionally. The Room was clean and spacious, with an amazing view from the balcony. My husband and I are already discussing coming back next time with our son, his wife, and our grandchild.

My mother came from Gifu, and we stayed here to meet up and attend a concert. We chose this property for its convenient Shinkansen access and an easy-to-find location, as my mother is elderly. The access was so good that we’re considering staying here again in the future. I also decided on the day to celebrate my mother’s birthday and called to request a cake arrangement; they handled it kindly and professionally, and we were very satisfied.

I didn’t expect to find such a comfortable hotel in Wakkanai. The bed was very comfortable. It was also great that the patisserie attached to the restaurant is open until around 9:00 p.m., since it’s often hard to find sweets at night in regional cities. Overall, it was a great hotel. If I had to mention one issue, it would be that the front parking lot tends to fill up quickly.

This trip to Hokkaido was a three-sister getaway to celebrate my older sister’s 70th birthday. I requested a birthday message plate, and on the day you kindly prepared a private Room for us. The dessert message plate was wonderful as well! Dinner, including the grilled scallops, was absolutely delicious. I’ve been recommending this Accommodation to my friends—if you’re going to Otaru, please be sure to stay here! Thank you very much. The staff were very kind, and we truly enjoyed talking with you. The views were incredible, and the sense of happiness in this space—free from everyday life—was overwhelming. In the open-air bath, during the day we enjoyed the calm sea, and at sunrise we eagerly waited with other guests gathered as if to watch the first sunrise of the year, feeling energized as we watched the bright red sun rise. The meals were also delicious for our whole family, featuring ingredients that stood out with a light touch of salt. The staff were kind, and like a hidden retreat, we would love to come again to rest both mind and body. It was a wonderful Hotel. Thank you very much.

I visited with my 4-year-old daughter. We checked in at 4:00 PM, let her play in the kids’ area right away, and had dinner in our room since bringing food into the room was allowed. The room and bath were both very clean, so both my child and I were very satisfied. The amenities were well stocked, and the children’s items in particular featured cute character designs that made my daughter happy. There was also a drink bar on the first floor, and for breakfast the egg-over-rice (tamago kake gohan) was especially delicious. The staff’s service was also great. It’s close to the zoo, so I highly recommend it. My daughter said she wants to go again.

Rather than just being near Miho no Matsubara, it felt like there was a Ryokan right within it. You can easily take a walk to Miho no Matsubara and the beach. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we enjoyed the scent of hinoki in the in-room bath. If I have the chance, I would like to stay again.

I used Villa Fontaine for the first time because they serve Soup Stock Tokyo soups. I later looked it up and found that this is the only Villa Fontaine where you can have Soup Stock Tokyo soup. The breakfast selection isn’t very large compared with other hotels. If I remember correctly, it was about two kinds of soup, 4–5 kinds of bread, salad, scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, yogurt, fruit and jelly desserts, and drinks. There was no rice. A wide variety of breakfast options is appealing, but I always worry about food waste when there’s too much left over, so this felt more than sufficient. There are two self check-in machines. A staff member was assisting the guest ahead of me at one machine the whole time; that itself wasn’t an issue. However, my check-in screen loaded very slowly and it took about 10 minutes to complete. Partway through a staff member said something like “Mr./Ms. ***, thank you for waiting…” so I assume they could see who was trying to check in from the back office. I don’t know whether someone needs to operate the system behind the scenes for it to proceed, but if they already knew my name, I wish they could have helped resolve it. Only twin rooms were available at the time, so although I was traveling alone I stayed in a twin room. Even though this was a business trip and I wanted to use my laptop in the room, there was only a small table (about 40–50 cm square), so it wasn’t suitable for working with both a laptop and an external monitor spread out. That was my choice though. Because it was a twin room it felt slightly more spacious overall, which made it comfortable in that respect. The mattress firmness suited me well. I’d be happy to stay again if I have another opportunity.

It was busy because it was during the summer vacation season, but the bath was spacious, so it didn’t feel too crowded. The food was delicious, but I felt our table was a little far away. Overall, it was good!

We stayed during the summer vacation period. There were many families with children, and the pool was crowded, but we still enjoyed it. As other Reviews mention, the in-house Facilities are undeniably dated, but everything felt clean and it was a pleasant stay. There may not be many power outlets. The air conditioning wasn’t very strong, so the Room felt warm. I didn’t have high expectations for breakfast, but it exceeded them—the open-kitchen omelets were delicious, and I especially liked the chilled yuzu ramen. For those who enjoy a drink in the morning, there was also wine available, so I think you can relax. If you’re looking to have fun nearby with access to a pool included, this is a good option. We would like to stay again.

I have stayed at this Hotel many times since it opened. It’s a favorite of mine, packed with charm. The interior features abundant Hida-sourced wood, creating a calm atmosphere where warmth and luxury are beautifully balanced. Whether in the lobby or the guest Rooms, it’s comfortable everywhere. The Onsen is also outstanding, with blue mosaic tiles in the baths. They are not only visually beautiful but also pleasant to the touch, making it easy to truly unwind. There is an additional fee, but I especially recommend the private bath with a spacious deck—an indulgent experience in a fully private setting. Above all, my greatest pleasure here is dinner. This time, Perla caviar was served as an amuse-bouche—presented in the tin—which genuinely surprised me with its extravagance. From there, the course continued with spear squid, lobster, and Hida beef; every dish showcased superb ingredients along with the chef’s skill and sense of style. Each plate was moving in its own way—it was simply a wonderful time. The breakfast buffet is equally impressive. From local Takayama specialties to salmon marinade and their signature Hida beef curry, everything is so well executed that it hardly feels like typical Hotel breakfast—I was completely satisfied from the morning. Most memorable of all is the hospitality of the staff. Not only do they respond kindly and attentively whenever you need help, they also greet even casual travel conversations with warm smiles that make you feel truly welcome. If you stay here, I encourage you to chat with them—you’ll appreciate this Hotel even more. Room quality, Onsen, dining, and service—few Hotels deliver such a high level across every aspect. And despite that excellence, the Accommodation Fee is surprisingly reasonable; considering what you receive, the value for money is exceptional. For me, it’s one of my absolute favorite Hotels in Japan—one I will happily return to again and again.

I stayed for 4 nights. The hospitality and service were flawless. I chose the plan with breakfast, which was served as a set menu. I tried both the Japanese and Western set meals; while a buffet is nice too, these were generous and luxurious. Also, even if you walk to the Shinkansen at Shin-Osaka Station, from leaving the hotel to passing through the ticket gates and reaching the platform, I think someone who walks fast could make it in about 5 minutes.

It was a truly relaxing experience. The view from the room was spectacular. The bath was an open-air bath surrounded by the forest, offering a heavenly experience. You can enjoy different types of baths with unique atmospheres. At night, you can marvel at the star-filled sky. Meals featured an abundance of local ingredients from the prefecture, and drinks were reasonably priced. I had an amazing time and would love to visit this accommodation again. Iwate is vast, and there are still so many places I want to explore!
