We stayed as a family, and it was comfortable from start to finish! The building feels a bit traditional, but the inside is bright, and we could sense thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, which made it very relaxing. All the staff were pleasant, and the cleaning throughout the property was thorough. We wanted to play at the beach and also watch the sunset, so we worried about meal times—but it turned out to be unnecessary. While we were out, they prepared our in-room dinner, and for sashimi—where freshness is everything—they served it after we returned. When an announcement about the sunset played over the PA system during dinner, a staff member came by to turn off the grill so we could take our time watching from the rooftop bench. (You can also see it from your Room, but the view is better from the rooftop. To get there, you need to go up one flight of stairs.) At dinner we also enjoyed dancing grilled live abalone. (One didn’t move even after lighting it; when we mentioned it, they replaced it immediately, so we could eat with peace of mind.) I thought just the standard course might not be enough, but it was plenty. The bath was great because we had it all to ourselves. We also appreciated the lounge coffee and post-bath ice cream. Breakfast was filling and delicious as well. Overall, this Accommodation exceeded our expectations. There were many stylish places nearby and we debated where to stay, but I’m glad we chose Kaishu.

Our family of four stayed in a room with a private open-air bath, and it was amazing—even putting it mildly. The meals, baths, and views were all excellent. The food was generous and delicious, and at night we enjoyed a sky full of stars. The bath left our skin silky smooth—especially the morning bath, which I highly recommend. This was our first stay, but it’s an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much.

As a truly secluded Onsen, the drive to get there was challenging, but it was a wonderful Accommodation well worth the effort. Surrounded by abundant nature, even the wait for the cable car was enjoyable as we took in the gorge views and watched small birds. We also used the private bath first thing in the morning and were able to fully enjoy the Onsen while embraced by quiet nature—it was truly an exceptional moment. All of your staff are wonderfully international, and rather than striving for perfection, each person’s sincere, heartfelt work came through, which made us feel very warm inside. At dinner, you kindly changed our table to a window seat, and we enjoyed delicious dishes along with the beautiful scenery. My European husband was also very satisfied. Next time, we would love to return during the autumn foliage or snowy season. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

I stayed in a non-smoking twin room with breakfast for one night. It is conveniently located about a 5–6 minute walk from Iyotetsu Takashimaya, and I was surprised at how affordable the accommodation was. The facility is not new, but it is kept clean so it didn’t bother me. The Hotel staff were kind, and I had a pleasant stay. I would like to stay again.

Facing the Kanmon Straits, it was soothing to watch the ships passing through all the time. The meals were carefully selected and delicious. It was also great to be able to see the straits from the bath; however, the bath was quite crowded with many local residents, which surprised me a little. As a request, I think it would be relaxing if you could use some aroma fragrance or incense in the corridor where the Room is located.

From the welcome on arrival to checkout, the staff are consistently pleasant, and the proprietress’s attentive hospitality is impressive every time. The Ryokan is impeccably clean, and everything is well cared for throughout. The cuisine shows a clear commitment to quality ingredients—beautifully presented and delicious. It’s not just a place that serves many dishes; it delivers the satisfaction of dining at a proper kappo restaurant. After staying at other Accommodations in the same price range, you truly realize how outstanding this Ryokan is. Once you stay here, you’ll want to come back. It’s a bit far, but more than worth it—an exceptional Ryokan.

I stay here every time I visit Sendai. It has great access from the station and is convenient for the Sendai Morning Market and nearby restaurants. The Facility and Room are clean and comfortable. A small downside is that the large public bath is only available from 4:00 PM. Also, having a coin laundry inside the bath area is convenient, but during a Multiple Night Stay you can only use it when the bath area is not crowded (there are only two washing machines, so they may be unavailable at night). It would also be helpful if the in-room TV showed coin laundry and bath availability. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

Even though I don’t swim in the sea, I travel solo year-round in search of gourmet Accommodations near the coast (for the food and scenery). I was delighted to be upgraded to a sea-view Room. It was a Japanese-style Room, but it also had a leather sofa and ottoman, so I could stretch out and relax while gazing at the ocean. When I woke up around 5:00, I was able to watch a beautiful sunrise from the Room. There is a calm inner-sea beach right in front of the Accommodation, and there are showers as well—great for families with small children. The meals were outstanding, featuring an abundance of local specialties. My main goal was Wakasa-guji (tilefish), but it was even more delicious than I imagined—the Wakasa-guji ochazuke was exceptional. And the Matsunaga rice was unbelievably good (probably the best I’ve ever had). I didn’t use the public bath and used the shower in my Room instead, but I loved that the shampoo and conditioner were Hokurokusousui—one of my favorite brands—and it helped me relax. Recently there have been more Accommodations renovated from wooden buildings, but some noise—voices and footsteps—is unavoidable. You can often hear children as well. It’s not exactly quiet. However, more than making up for that, I felt each staff member’s hospitality and way of interacting with guests was wonderful. In particular: the woman with glasses who assisted me at check-in; the woman at breakfast (I’m sorry—I forgot your name); and one of the male staff members who kindly gave me helpful advice for sightseeing in Obama after check-out. Thanks to them, it became more than just an overnight stay—I had a chance to learn even more about Obama, making this trip extremely satisfying. I heard that midwinter is especially good for grouper, pufferfish, and Echizen crab. As transportation access improves from here on out, this will be an Accommodation you’ll want to visit even more. Next time it would be perfect if I could borrow a firmer pillow!! Please make that happen on my next visit!! (I can’t sleep if a pillow doesn’t suit me.) This was our second stay, and we stayed with my elderly mother. We thoroughly enjoyed the conger eel dinner and the Japanese breakfast. We were also able to relax comfortably in the barrier-free private open-air bath. Thank you to all the Hotel staff for your courteous service.

The Hotel was clean, and we enjoyed delicious meals. However, it was exactly sunset time, and it was disappointing that the curtains were closed so we couldn’t see it. The Onsen had a wonderfully silky texture that left our skin smooth! We used it three times. One thing that concerned me: when we arrived, a staff member came to take our luggage. While we waited with our dog in a stroller, we were told to wait outside until check-in at the front desk was completed. Waiting outside in the summer heat didn’t feel appropriate. If possible, I would have liked to wait inside—even in a corner of the lobby—while only one representative went in to complete the check-in. I heard that around autumn there will be a new Accommodation where guests can stay with their dogs, and I’m looking forward to it! I would also be very happy if there were a dog run.

It was a wonderful Room with lovely interior design where you can relax in nature and enjoy the slow passage of time. It also has a small kitchen, and since you can buy vegetables and meat at the on-site market, it seemed possible to cook for yourself in the Room. It’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again.

The riverside open-air bath was closed, but we used the outdoor Onsen reached by going down 300 steps. The staircase is so narrow that only one person can pass at a time. We were told it’s open until 11:00 p.m., but we were worried about our footing at night, so we went in the evening and again in the morning. While soaking, we enjoyed the river’s flow and the mountains, listening to the sound of the water. The stairs were tough, but I truly felt glad we came. The semi-open-air bath down about 20 steps was also wonderful, with a clear view of the mountains right in front of you. The temperature was perfect for me. I didn’t expect much from the indoor bath, but it had large windows and felt very pleasant; there was a jacuzzi, a reclining bath, and a hotter pool where we could relax comfortably. Everyone at the Accommodation was very kind and welcoming. Dinner came in many small dishes. The beef and the meatballs in the hot pot were delicious. Even simple items like the beef sauce, hot-pot broth, and pickles were all excellent. The portions were just right for us as a couple. I think you need to be fairly fit to visit an outdoor Onsen that requires going down 300 steps—but I’m really glad we did. This isn’t about the Accommodation itself, but both the bus driver from Nasushiobara Station and the person at Shiobara Onsen Terminal who explained a map of Shiobara Onsen were incredibly friendly, which made our memories of this trip even better. Thank you very much!

We visited Shimane Prefecture for the first time to go to the Izumo Taisha Shrine we’d long dreamed of seeing for our wedding anniversary. While looking for a Ryokan, we found a wonderful one in an Onsen town—though it was a bit far from Izumo Taisha—and decided to check it out. We were especially drawn to the amazing Plan offering 90 minutes of all-you-can-eat crab, so we made a Reservation right away!! The guest Room was very spacious—more than enough for two people—and it was very clean!! Every dish was truly delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab until we were completely satisfied. The other kaiseki dishes were also luxurious; the clam clear soup was of course delicious, and so were the meat dishes and sea bream shabu-shabu… Everything exceeded our expectations!! The Onsen was also excellent. I personally loved the open-air bath in particular. When I went in at night, I felt the water temperature might have been slightly on the lukewarm side, but in the morning it was just perfect—so I think the weather may have had an effect. It felt so good that I wanted to stay in both at night and in the morning. The next day my skin felt smooth, and I could definitely feel its benefits. The front desk staff were kind as well. Next time, I’d love to visit again on a family trip with my parents and my spouse’s parents. We’re very happy to have found such a great Ryokan that we can recommend to anyone.

Time passed at a relaxed pace, and I truly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. The view from the window was absolutely beautiful. The grouper course was very generous in portion size, and every dish tasted exceptional. The warm hospitality also made me feel comfortable. My family said they would love to come again.

The Accommodation has a wonderful atmosphere and offers satisfaction that exceeds the price. At the entrance, there was a vending machine selling rare flash-frozen soba you can enjoy as if freshly made, as well as Matsumoto Sanzoku-yaki. They escorted me to my Room on the second floor and even carried my luggage. When I left, it was raining, but they lent me an umbrella and saw me off. Inside, the building has an extraordinary, getaway-like ambiance, with calming lights placed throughout the corridors and other areas. The toilets and washbasins are shared, but they are clean. There is also a large public bath with alternating hours for men and women, and if available, you can use a private bath at no extra charge. The water temperature is on the lukewarm side. Breakfast included many kinds of small side dishes, a large-nameko miso soup, and curry that was light yet flavorful; I heard it uses Indian spices. Next time, I’d like to try dinner as well.

Conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Station, the view from the Room was great, with Dogo Onsen Honkan and Matsuyama Castle visible. The window glass had a pattern, so it would have been even better if it were completely clear. The Room was clean and comfortable, with a nice sense of cleanliness. The large public bath on the top floor was also very relaxing, and I especially recommend the open-air bath! We used the buffet for both breakfast and dinner, and there were many local dishes and unique items—everything was delicious. Dinner was a half-buffet, but we were very full, so I thought it would be nice to have a Plan with buffet only (it may already exist...). Also, I’d be happy if there were mandarin orange juice at breakfast! It was also great to have live piano music in the evening.

A safe and comfortable Hotel directly connected to Kansai International Airport. Convenience stores like Lawson and FamilyMart are nearby, and you can also find places to eat 24 hours a day in the area. The breakfast buffet even had champagne in the morning. At the live kitchen, two types of plated dishes are always prepared. Arriving on the last flight on Friday after work, it’s helpful that there’s very little travel needed afterward.

Upon arriving at Omoide Roman-kan by car, staff were already there and guided us to the parking area. Their service was polite and pleasant, leaving a great first impression. In the lobby, you can enjoy as many drinks as you like. There were draft beer, sparkling wine, and sake as well. It’s available not only at check-in but also after the baths, and they also had ice pops. No matter what you have, there are no extra charges. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, all of them delicious. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy local specialties. Here too, no matter how much alcohol you drink, there is no additional fee. The Room was a twin Room, very spacious and spotless. The sofa and cushions were perfect for relaxing comfortably. The baths were excellent as well—the tea open-air bath felt amazing. It’s also great that there is a separate riverside open-air bath. Large public bath before dinner, riverside open-air bath after dinner… I even went in both before and after breakfast. The massage chairs were free to use too. This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive Accommodation, and it was truly exceptional—everything was taken care of for us. I would love to stay again.

It was my first stay in a while, and it remains a wonderful Hotel. The approach leading straight from the public road to the main entrance is elegant and picturesque. Since it opened in 1935, the Facilities are not the latest, but that is exactly what gives it a unique charm. The staff’s service was also impeccable. For dinner, we enjoyed classic French cuisine rather than today’s modern fusion style—it was delicious. As is true of Unzen’s tourist areas in general, this historic destination is rich in nature, and I imagine maintaining both the Facilities and the gardens must be challenging for those in tourism. I’m sure there are many difficulties, but I truly hope you will continue to preserve this beautiful Hotel.

This was my second stay. The meals were delicious, and the in-Room bath was wonderful—I’d love to stay again. The sirloin at dinner had a bit more fat than I prefer for my age, so I would appreciate it if there were a little more lean meat; however, everything else was extremely satisfying!!! And so luxurious! It felt like, “Is it really okay to serve this much matsutake?” I’m very happy with the in-Room bath as well, but because I’m on the larger side, some water overflows when I get in. Since the bath area and Room are truly barrier-free, I worry that the water might flow into the Room, so I have to get in very slowly, which is the only downside. It would be great if there were something to prevent water from flowing out. The salted bread we received upon arrival was delicious, and we bought the same bread at the bakery next door before heading home the next day! We plan to buy it again next time!!
