I was finally able to stay at Akazawa Guest House, a place I had long wanted to visit, this time together with my son and his wife. The Accommodation is beautiful from the outside, but once you step inside, you’re amazed to see platinum used throughout the walls and other details. It’s a stunning space with meticulous attention paid to every element. The pampas grass in the courtyard was especially memorable, and we were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful time away from everyday life while feeling the charm of the season. Everything—the Room, the meals, and the atmosphere throughout the property—was wonderful, of course. But what stayed with me most was the warm hospitality of all the staff. My daughter-in-law is pregnant, and they kindly accommodated our requests in advance with great care. They prepared extra pillows in our Room and thoughtfully adjusted aspects of our meals as well, which we truly appreciated. In particular, the staff member who served our meals had such a lovely smile. Their service was both attentive and genuinely warm, which made us feel very at ease. The staff member who took photos for us also went beyond what we asked for and discreetly looked out for us so we could enjoy ourselves—an act of consideration that made us very happy. It’s certainly an exceptional space filled with luxury, but even more than that, I felt that the thoughtful and heartfelt hospitality of everyone working there makes this Accommodation even more special. I’m truly glad we were able to spend such precious family time at Akazawa Guest House. On our way home, my son and his wife said together, “Let’s come back again.” Thank you very much for giving us such a wonderful time that will stay in our hearts. We would love to visit again.

This was a Hotel I definitely want to stay at again! Not only were the amenities and play area great, but the private family bath was surprisingly easy to use when we wanted, and we were able to relax and enjoy a bath together as a family. Free laundry and drying were also available, which was a huge help—especially with our 2-year-old, when we ran out of spare clothes and started to panic. Meals were buffet-style, so we ended up eating quite a lot and couldn’t make it for late-night snacks, which was a shame—but next time I’ll plan better (haha). Just one thing: the kids’ meals didn’t change much between breakfast and dinner, so our child got a bit bored. It would have been nice to have a little more variety.

We stayed to celebrate the youngest of our three sons’ birthday—this was about our fifth visit. The room has evolved into a family room, and with the slide, swing, and bouldering wall, they played nonstop. All three were very happy and said they want to come again and stay again. Thank you as well to K for taking such great care of us during our meals—it made the memories even more special. Next time, we’d love to visit for our second son’s birthday. Thank you in advance.

When you stay at this Hotel, you can use the adjacent Nara Kenko Land for two days: the day of your stay and the following day. On the night I stayed, I couldn’t fall asleep, so I spent time in the relaxation lounge with manga until 1:00 a.m. It was great that I could read manga late at night and, when I got sleepy, take the elevator back to my Room—it was so close and convenient. I also really enjoyed the baths and sauna!

I stayed in the new wing, and the Room was clean and comfortable with a spacious desk. The staff were also very kind. The bath facilities are new as well, and the water is silky—truly feels like an Onsen. The sauna wasn’t too hot, and the cold bath wasn’t too cold, so it felt gentle on the body. It was very relaxing. Sauna mats were also provided. However, there is no trash bin inside the bathing area for disposing of used amenity items such as body towels or facial wash packets, so everyone had to return to the changing room trash bin while still wet. I would appreciate it if a small trash bin could be placed next to the shampoo area or near where sauna mats are returned. There were also manga and massage chairs in a space near the lobby, which helped me relax even more after bathing.

We stayed as two adults and one baby to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It had been about a year since I gave birth, so it was our first trip in a long time—and our baby’s very first trip. We weren’t focused on sightseeing; we wanted to enjoy the Accommodation itself. We looked for a Room with a private open-air bath, in-room breakfast and dinner, and a baby-friendly place, compared Reviews, and chose Bettei KURO. We traveled by train and used the Shuttle Service from Futo Station. The Room was spacious, beautiful, and filled with the warmth of wood. We were happy to find cute baby toys and bedding thoughtfully set up in the Room. Having wipes and a bottle-washing set also helped us pack lighter. Even if our baby cried, we didn’t have to worry about other guests, so our whole family could truly relax. The Onsen wasn’t too hot, so we could bathe together with our baby. (They manage the temperature carefully, and we were told it can be adjusted upon request at the front desk.) Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious and delicious. We hadn’t mentioned in advance that we wanted non-alcoholic drinks for both of us; my husband’s aperitif came with alcohol and I wasn’t sure what to do, but when we told them on the spot they changed it immediately. We didn’t order an extra cake because we thought we’d be too full, but there was a “Happy Birthday” message on the dessert plate—apparently based on the purpose noted at Reservation (birthday). We felt this kind of thoughtful hospitality in many other ways as well, which made us feel it is truly wonderful Accommodation. Seeing the ocean view and beautiful stars was also a great memory. We’re really glad we chose this place for our long-awaited trip.

It was my first time in a while staying at this Accommodation. This time, the Room had a free-flowing Onsen bath, and with the large public bath as well, I was able to enjoy many baths—truly an Onsen-filled stay. The meals were delicious, and a woman who had come from overseas for training was very friendly and attentive, which made dining even more pleasant. However, it was raining heavily at check-in, so I felt a little disappointed that no one came out to greet me with an umbrella.

This is my favorite Accommodation, where you can enjoy a large bath and delicious meals at a reasonable price (I especially love Matsunoi’s Chinese cuisine). This time, I made a Reservation because my elderly father wanted to visit with his siblings, and he came home completely satisfied. Even after the renovation, I hope Matsunoi will keep what makes it special and that we can still enjoy the same delicious shrimp in chili sauce.

Everything was great except that the Room was so hot I could barely sleep. There was a fan in the Room, so I should have turned it on, but I couldn’t be bothered to get up, plug it in, and switch it on, so I just endured it until morning. After taking a bath in the evening, I enjoyed 4 of the 12 kinds of complimentary shochu in the lounge. Then live music started as well, and it was such a lovely time relaxing on a comfortable sofa. For the shochu, ice, cold water, and hot water are provided, so you can drink it however you like. As is often the case with buffets, it was quite crowded at mealtime, but there were also Kagoshima local dishes, which made it fun.

This large 11-story resort suddenly appeared as we drove along a rural mountain road. The building was clean and didn’t feel old at all. The Japanese-Western style Room was also very practical. The Onsen is a simple hot spring, but both the indoor and outdoor baths are spacious. At the back of the large open-air bath, there were various small tubs that looked like they had bath additives in them, which was fun in its own way. Meals were served buffet-style in a large restaurant. There was an incredible variety of dishes, and there was quite a long line in front of the Western food counter. It seems great for families with children to enjoy dining, but for older guests it’s hard to eat that much and tiring to walk around, so I wished there had been a set menu option. As a Diamond member benefit, we received a full-size bottle of sparkling wine and finished it, but it was too much for just the two of us as a couple. It would have been nice if we could choose something like two cans of beer instead.

No matter when you stay, the thorough cleaning makes it a comfortable place to spend time. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you won’t have any trouble, and BBQ tools are also provided. When we met the staff at the gate at checkout, they kindly saw us off, and we felt great until the very end—we’d love to stay again!

We were able to fully enjoy the Onsen in the annex and relax at our leisure with a creative Japanese-style dinner. The amenities were well stocked, and there were also activities such as a kids’ playroom, fireworks, and stargazing, making it a family-friendly Accommodation. It would be even better if there were a private dog run.

The room was a Japanese-Western style, and the futon was already laid out. The Onsen had silky smooth water, which felt very pleasant. The open-air bath offered a stunning night view, making it a blissful experience to soak in the Onsen while enjoying the scenery. The meals were excellent; however, breakfast was limited to 60 minutes, which made us rush and was a bit disappointing. Other than that, everything was wonderful, and I would love to visit again after the renovation.

We chose the Umitamago Room. There were lots of plush toys in all sizes, and the kids were thrilled! They tucked a big walrus plush into one futon and slept next to mom. While drifting off, they said, “Let’s come again.” The changing area was spacious, with a large mirror and bright lighting—very easy to use. I used to think Hotel towels were limited to one bath towel and one face towel per person and not very absorbent, but here we had one bath towel and two face towels each, and they were nicely absorbent. Both the front desk staff and the dining staff were kind to our children—everyone was wonderful. Meals included dinner and breakfast buffets, and both were delicious! If I had to ask for one thing, it would be a small toothbrush for kids. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again!

My daughter and I stayed here together. We had a luggage issue before arriving at the Hotel and ended up arriving an hour late for dinner, but you kindly accommodated us, for which we are truly grateful. For the meal, although it was already past the time when it would normally have been served as a boxed meal, you were considerate enough to serve us as planned, and I was nearly moved to tears. Every dish was not only beautifully presented but also thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients and flavors that guests of any age can enjoy. The seasoning and portions were just right, and everything was truly delicious. We chose the plan with breakfast included, and it was very lavish—yet never heavy—and before we knew it, we had finished everything. The rice was especially delicious; my daughter and I even said afterward that we should have asked for seconds. The Onsen bath was very clean, and it felt so wonderful that we forgot all about the day’s troubles. We also used the open-air bath; since it was a full moon that night, we enjoyed a blissful time soaking while looking at the moon peeking through the trees. The Room was very spacious, with a Japanese-style room plus a separate bedroom with beds. It’s a layout where you can relax in comfort in the Japanese-style room and then sleep soundly in bed afterward—something guests of any age can enjoy. Above all else, every member of staff provided outstanding service. When we arrived at Kinugawa Onsen Station there were hardly any taxis available, and we were worried about whether we could reach the Hotel on foot along dark roads. You picked us up by car from the station, which helped us tremendously. You also drove us to the station again the next day—thank you so much. Thanks to you, we made our scheduled train on time. Your kindness in every respect truly moved us. There are many Ryokan out there and we have stayed at several before, but this is a Hotel where we were satisfied with everything: staff service, cuisine, baths, and Rooms. This time it was only one night because there were other places we wanted to visit as well; however, if we travel to the Nikko area again next time, we will definitely choose this Hotel. And since we had your wonderful food rather hurriedly this time due to our late arrival (laugh), next time I’d like to arrive on schedule and savor each dish more slowly. We sincerely appreciate all your kindness. Thank you very much. We look forward to staying with you again in the future.

I found this site and, as a birthday gift for my wife, I splurged more than on our usual trips and made a Reservation for the “Shinshu Beef Tasting Kaiseki” on the Sky Comfort Floor. When we checked in, thanks to the Hotel’s consideration, we were upgraded to a Luxury Suite at no extra charge. It was truly eye-opening. That alone would have been more than enough, but dinner—the “Shinshu Beef Tasting Kaiseki”—was also outstanding: sweet and tender beef, a rich aroma, and exceptional hospitality. This has definitely become one of the Hotels we want to return to. Thank you very much. My wife was delighted as well. The open-air bath was also wonderful—just like in the photos on the site—and incredibly relaxing.

This was my first stay. Since there is no toilet, I rated the Facility 4, but the main house is nearby so it wasn’t much of an issue. The dome tent was comfortable, and even the heavy rain from a linear precipitation band didn’t bother us at all. The furnishings such as the chairs and lamps were lovely, the meals were delicious, and we were able to relax with our dog. All of the staff were always smiling and responded politely. Afterward, I contacted you because I had forgotten my hat, and you handled it right away. I’d love to visit again.

Unlimited access to the neighboring spa Facility is a great perk. With so many types of baths, my favorite is the carbonated spring in the open-air bath.

We had to cancel our Okinawa trip due to a typhoon. Then I remembered Iojima, which my husband’s mother had recommended, and looked it up. Because it was last-minute, the only availability was a BBQ Plan in a dog-friendly Room, but we made a Reservation anyway—and it turned out to be amazing! We don’t have pets, so I worried about odors or hearing dogs from other Rooms, but everything was spotless and we didn’t notice anything at all. The Room also had an ocean view and felt incredibly refreshing. For dinner, we thought two days of BBQ in the summer heat might be too much, so we asked the front desk—just in case—if we could change one day’s meal. They kindly accommodated us, and on the second night we were able to enjoy a course dinner. (This may have been because we originally booked an upgraded option above the standard BBQ.) The BBQ itself was delicious with plenty of variety, and eating while looking out at the sea was fantastic. For breakfast, we could choose from three different restaurants with different menus. Guests could also enjoy complimentary lemon water and chilled tea at various spots around the island. There were lots of activities: sports and games in the gym; ocean athletics and marine sports (extra charge) by the beach; a manga corner near the baths; an indoor pool; Onsen facilities; and even an open-air bath with ocean views. We truly had an incredible three days. Since each area is spread out, you can rent bicycles for free, and there is also a shuttle bus that circulates around the island. All of the Accommodation staff were kind and attentive, helping us create wonderful family memories. Thank you very much.

I visited with friends in March, and this time I came with my son’s family. The food is simply delicious, and even my five-year-old grandchild can have fun at the amusement park and inside the Hotel. Beer was available after bathing and during meals as well, which made my daughter-in-law very happy. The meals were excellent—both grilled Hamana Lake eel (kabayaki) and white-grilled eel (shirayaki) were so good that I ate far too much. I usually don’t eat seafood bowls elsewhere (because they’re not tasty), but for some reason I end up having them here. And the staff who prepare the food are very kind. Next time, I’d like to bring my daughter’s family too. The desserts made with local ingredients and the small dishes are also delicious. I don’t think there is any other Hotel buffet as good as this. The only problem is that I eat too much and gain weight. Even breakfast has great variety, and even the scrambled eggs taste wonderful. The shirasu and eel onigiri-style rice balls were very satisfying too. With four adults and one small child, it’s hard to deny that the room feels a bit small. But since a larger room would have doubled the price, we ended up trying to save money. Well, we only sleep there anyway. This may be a bit rambling, but considering the price, all I can say is thank you very much. If possible, I think a dry sauna would be better than the current one in the bath area.
