Despite concerns about the earthquake, I traveled from Tokyo to Takachiho. I had been planning for a long time to visit Takachiho again, so I decided to go—and I was relieved that there was hardly any impact and I could stay with peace of mind. I was satisfied with everything: the Facility, the meals—everything. First of all, I was surprised that the Room had not only indoor and outdoor baths but also a sauna. It was my first time in my life staying in a Room with a sauna. The meals were explained in a picture-story style, and each dish had its own story and attention to detail, making them both delicious and fun to enjoy. Personally, I especially recommend the salt-baked kappo chicken and the panna cotta. On top of that, there was plenty of playful creativity with a school-festival vibe, and above all it was blissful time surrounded by the staff’s smiles. Nearby are Takachiho Shrine, night kagura performances, and Takachiho Gorge where you can also take a boat ride—an extremely convenient location. Thank you very much. If I have the chance, I’d love to return again.

I am an Onsen enthusiast who stays over 80 nights a year, mainly in Izu. I have stayed at Kameya Keian more than 30 nights in the past, and this year I stayed for 4 nights. The cuisine was artistic in presentation, and the flavor—especially the richness of the dashi—was something no other Hotel or Ryokan can match; it was absolutely outstanding. The Onsen water quality is excellent, as expected of the historic Izunagaoka Onsen, making this a top-rated Onsen Ryokan. I will visit again.

I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa. Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time, choosing your Accommodation based on Reviews around the Hakone area—and it turned into the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received exceptionally attentive hospitality. Starting with the wonderful attendant who looked after us with such a warm smile, every member of staff impressed us with their professionalism and thoughtful attention to detail—exactly as described in the Reviews. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was impeccably cleaned and well maintained, creating a wonderful sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also thrilled by the wide selection of stylish yukata for women—and even more so to receive an adorable pouch filled with amenities. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, you prepared framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decorations at the dining venue; chopstick rests featuring celebratory characters; sekihan served in a charming bowl marked with “good fortune”; and even a commemorative ceramic tumbler set as a gift. Dinner was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, creating an impressive experience that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of your kitchen team in every detail. Of course, everything—from taste and portion size to temperature control (hot/cold) as well as timely serving and clearing—was flawless. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels over the years for our anniversaries, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home, my wife and I couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality. We would love to return again, so we hope you will welcome us back when we do. As we had never stayed in Atami before, we chose this Hotel for our 40th wedding anniversary trip. When I mentioned it to the staff at check-in, they surprised us with an anniversary dessert plate at dinner. It was beautifully done, and we truly appreciated the care they put into it for us. We chose a Room with an open-air bath. We were able to relax and soak while enjoying the view. The large public bath was also very pleasant. The meals were a delight for both the eyes and the palate. We were told the menu had just changed to the autumn selection, and in particular, the tilefish scale-grilled dish was outstanding. At breakfast the next morning, I noticed that the flowers in the vase on our table were different from those at dinner; when I asked a staff member, they said they change them between night and morning. I was impressed by such thoughtful attention to detail. Breakfast was also served as a course meal, and it was fun being able to choose between an egg dish or curry. The butter served with the bread was white in color with a rich flavor—absolutely delicious. Overall, every staff member provided courteous service and had wonderful smiles. Their attentive yet unobtrusive approach felt just right. As someone who lives a busy day-to-day life, thank you for giving me such an extraordinary escape—it became a truly memorable trip thanks to you all. We would love to visit again soon.

This is my fourth stay, and each time has been better than the last. In addition to the exceptional hospitality each staff member shows to every guest, you can also feel their dedication to continually improving the Accommodation, and I discover something new with every visit. I’m always grateful for the irreplaceable time I get to spend here—something I can only experience at Takinami. Next time will be in autumn. Thank you in advance.

We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well. This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient. The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind. The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great. Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding. At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance. The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out. I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday. The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one. Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. We stayed in the maisonette as a family of four. Even with two beds and two futon sets, there was still plenty of living room space, so we could relax comfortably. The view from the open-air bath was outstanding. The meals were delicious, and it was a very satisfying stay.

We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every meal was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room, which we were very satisfied with! They even prepared a celebratory plate during dinner—it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We would love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

This was my first stay since the COVID-19 pandemic. They upgraded our Room, and the service had improved wonderfully as well. I stay on the club floor every time, and I could feel the staff’s thoughtfulness in every detail, making my time comfortable both in the lounge and in the Room. The lounge food was delicious, and the Chinese cuisine at Hoshigaoka was also excellent. The Chinese tea in particular was outstanding—I wanted to buy some to take home, but it wasn’t available for sale, which was disappointing. I would like to stay again for next year’s vacation. The cuisine, Room, Onsen, and service were all excellent. It truly made us want to come back! At the end of our summer vacation, we made wonderful memories here and felt motivated to work hard again. We have stayed at other Accommodations in Ikaho several times, but Kogure is the best. Please continue your warm hospitality and bring comfort to many more guests.

Right in front of Kugenuma Beach, it was quiet and away from the bustle of Enoshima. It’s a wonderful small Hotel where you can enjoy a special getaway while truly relaxing. The in-Room meals were delicious, and we also appreciated that the Hotel partners with great nearby restaurants and provides Shuttle Service. The staff were all kind as well. We felt it would be an excellent place to stay as a vacation home alternative.

Since we traveled to Miyazaki despite the bad weather, we decided to take it easy, and this was the perfect relaxing space. Surrounded by soothing greenery, with a spacious lobby, lounge, and Room, I felt my mind truly unwind. We chose the breakfast-only plan; aside from the main dish, everything else was brought to us after ordering. As someone who isn’t fond of buffets, I really appreciated it, and everything was delicious. It’s a Hotel I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much.

Quiet and reassuring. Impeccably clean. From the stairs to the lobby, every space reflects the owner’s attention to detail. My favorite is the wraparound balcony—spending Kyoto’s magic hour here always leaves me feeling quietly happy.

We arrived a little early, kindly left our car, and took a stroll around the area. Right away, we visited Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine next door. In the backstreets of this historic townscape, you can find Onsen springs here and there—perfect for wandering at leisure. Both inside and outside the property felt very clean, showing careful management throughout. The staff’s smiles, service, and conversation were all refined; we truly felt their hospitality and attentiveness, which made our stay very comfortable. From the Room we stayed in—named “Kirishima”—we enjoyed a view of the grove surrounding Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine, full of charm and atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast featured local ingredients, and everything was delicious. We could also sense how dedicated the staff were, which made dining even more enjoyable. Bathing in the panoramic large public bath while looking out over the townscape glowing at dusk was exceptional. The water was a gentle Onsen that seemed to softly cling to the skin. Although it wasn’t in our original plans, we stopped by Harmo Museum about 7–8 minutes away by car after receiving a recommendation as we checked out. Driving along the well-maintained lakeside of Lake Suwa and enjoying wonderful paintings became a great memory for us. It was a truly relaxing Accommodation for adults—wonderful in every way. This was my second stay, and once again I chose the Plan with dinner and breakfast. As before, the meals were simply outstanding. With a full-course meal these days, I sometimes feel full before reaching the main dish, but here I was able to enjoy everything through dessert. There are many dishes, yet it all feels wonderfully light. Not only is the food delicious, but it also leaves you feeling comfortable afterward, allowing you to make the most of your evening—an extremely satisfying course. Breakfast was just as great as ever, and I was happy to have the freshly baked croissants again. Thank you very much.

During my Kyushu trip in mid-June, I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay (2 nights) in the “Chikurintei—Panoramic Open-Air Bath (Japanese-Western Room)” nestled within Mifuneyama Rakuen’s vast grounds. I stayed in the “Yamazakura” Room, which offered views of Mt. Mifune from the corridor and garden, and even had a private gate with direct access to Mifuneyama Rakuen. The open-air bath is a standing-style bath set among trees. It creates a unique floating sensation, and because the water pressure is applied evenly over the whole body, I felt less fatigue afterward. Being able to enjoy the garden and sky while standing also adds to the wonderful sense of openness. The Onsen water is clear and colorless—an alkaline simple spring—with an exceptionally gentle feel on the skin, so I never tired of soaking. The indoor bath is heated groundwater, but I also enjoyed it: the hinoki tub was very comfortable, and it didn’t take long to fill. What stood out most was the outstanding quality of dinner. The kaiseki course featuring seasonal local ingredients such as Takezaki crab immediately draws you in with its dashi—clear yet deeply flavorful, beautifully balanced. Each dish reflected the season in both taste and presentation: refined and truly beautiful. Beyond ingredient quality alone, there was a confident simplicity backed by real skill. Even on a Multiple Night Stay, every meal was flawless at an exceptional level. Simply superb—thank you for such a feast. Another highlight was visiting teamLab’s art installations at the affiliated Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel on the same grounds (guests of Chikurintei can enter free). From the moment you step into the lobby, you’re struck by countless lamps evoking forest flowers and sunlight filtering through trees. The most breathtaking work was “Megalis in Ruins Bathhouse,” where digital projections of seasonal flowers illuminate massive stones rising throughout an abandoned public-bath space. When we visited, different scenes cycled continuously—twelve distinct visuals representing all months—and we became fully immersed for about an hour until they completed one full round late at night before closing. Also worth mentioning: the cold-brew coffee served in the lounge area was delicious—I refilled it many times and enjoyed it back in my Room as well. To everyone at “Oyado Chikurintei,” thank you sincerely for creating such a wonderful stay. I will absolutely return when I visit Takeo Onsen again.

We had seen a Review saying the pool temperature was low, and since it was a chilly day we were worried, but it was comfortably warm. The first-floor flooring is also not slippery, so I think it’s dog-friendly. If possible, it would have been even better if the second-floor flooring were made of similarly non-slip materials. The quality of the free-flowing Onsen water was great as well, and it was a wonderful Accommodation that makes not only dogs but also people want to come back.

Despite the economical rate, the bathtub had a built-in step that could be used as a seat, and there was also a separate washing area, which was excellent. The Facility and service were on par with those of a top-class Hotel costing about twice as much. I was able to relax very comfortably. The hospitality was wonderful, and the trip was truly enjoyable.
