In-room dining and a private open-air bath in the Room made it a completely private space. The meals were also delicious. It was an Accommodation where families with small children could relax and enjoy themselves without worrying about others. Since it was difficult to apply makeup, I think it would be helpful to have a handheld mirror.

We stayed to celebrate the youngest of our three sons’ birthday—this was about our fifth visit. The room has evolved into a family room, and with the slide, swing, and bouldering wall, they played nonstop. All three were very happy and said they want to come again and stay again. Thank you as well to K for taking such great care of us during our meals—it made the memories even more special. Next time, we’d love to visit for our second son’s birthday. Thank you in advance.

We stayed in a Superior Twin Room with a loft and a lake-side living area. The Room was spacious, and having a separate living area felt refreshing. The bed was very comfortable, and it was great that we could watch another TV from the bed. The meals were delicious and very generous in portion size. The grilled shabu-shabu with Japanese Black Wagyu beef and the salt-grilled nodoguro were especially tasty. The Onsen was also very relaxing. It would have been even better if there had been a sauna.

This was my first time staying here. All the staff—at reception, breakfast, on the phone, and likely housekeeping as well—were very kind and helpful. Once I entered the Room, I couldn’t hear any outside noise at all and was able to rest comfortably. I travel often, and many Hotels have at least one disappointing point, but everything here was excellent!! I would definitely stay again!

Obuse, the town of Hokusai and chestnuts, is known for its beautiful streetscape that feels almost like a theme park. We arrived a little early by car, so we visited Gansho-in Temple and Jokoji Temple before heading to Masuichi Kyakuden. The ceiling painting at Gansho-in—Katsushika Hokusai’s “Phoenix Glancing in All Directions”—was truly breathtaking. As soon as we pulled up in front of Masuichi Kyakuden, a staff member came right out and promptly carried our luggage inside. The hugely popular and notoriously hard-to-book “Chestnut Dessert Suzaku” will be available from 9/10 this year; since guests staying at Masuichi Kyakuden receive priority guaranteed access, Reservations for the Accommodation also become difficult after 9/10. Because we stayed before then, it was easy to secure our stay. Stepping inside Masuichi Kyakuden, you’re immediately enveloped by the stately atmosphere of the kura storehouse building. Our Room was on the second floor—we chose the relaxing twin—and despite being in a kura-style structure, it even has a terrace with plenty of sunlight, making it bright and open. We were told there are other Rooms with an even calmer, more traditional kura feel; however, all are designed with high ceilings to avoid any sense of confinement. Designed by architect John Morford, the Room is fully Western-style with extensive use of stainless steel; the glass-and-stainless bath is well worth seeing. Amenities are L’Occitane, there are complimentary drinks in the refrigerator along with coffee and tea—everything you’d expect from a high-end Ryokan—and overall the Room is very comfortable. For dinner, we walked about three minutes to Obusedo Main Store (part of the same Masuichi group). Every dish showcased the chef’s experience and refined sensibility. The soup course, simmered dishes, and grilled items had a Kyoto kaiseki influence—above all else, the dashi was exceptional. The sashimi was fresh and perfectly seasoned as well. They also made good use of local ingredients throughout, which made for a highly satisfying meal. Note that the first dishes served—blanched Kurakake beans and Matsumae-zuke—are not part of the course menu (just so you know). They’re clearly meant as snacks for alcohol—especially sake brewed by Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery within the same group—and they pair beautifully: firm Kurakake beans soaked in elegant dashi alongside Matsumae-zuke packed with seafood umami go perfectly with slowly sipped Masuichi sake. In autumn Obuse becomes all about chestnuts; while we couldn’t try “Chestnut Dessert Suzaku,” we did get to enjoy “Mont Blanc Suzaku,” a Western-style take on Suzaku. It’s available at their affiliated shop “Entotsu,” but just when we were about to give up due to long lines, we learned that overnight guests can make Reservations—so we were able to enjoy it without waiting. If you stay at Masuichi Kyakuden, be sure to treat yourself to one of their chestnut sweets featuring “Suzaku.” Overall it was an excellent stay—we thoroughly enjoyed Obuse.

I stayed in Nakatsugawa the night before to attend the Kashimo Meijiza Classic Concert the next day. I arrived earlier than expected, but they kindly showed me to my Room early—much appreciated! Inside the building, you take off your shoes, which caught me off guard at first, but I had brought indoor slippers so I was able to stay comfortable. The cafe space has high ceilings and feels clean and uncluttered. Overall it doesn’t have a particularly relaxing atmosphere, but it’s comfortable as a place to stay. You can take a walk nearby, and there are plenty of restaurants around, so it was easy and pleasant to spend time there.

I stopped by and stayed here on my way back to my hometown. Since I’d heard it was attached to a day-use Onsen Facility, I didn’t expect much—but I couldn’t have been more wrong. From the building’s appearance to every detail of the indoor Facilities, everything was impeccably maintained and welcoming. Above all, I was amazed by the staff’s hospitality. They anticipated guests’ needs before being asked—truly top-tier service. The Onsen uses water from the well-known Nakatsugawa Onsen source, and it felt wonderfully silky on the skin. The meal was a creative kaiseki course featuring plenty of Gifu ingredients, with outstanding taste, quality, portion size, and presentation. The room was beautifully kept, and I had a completely comfortable stay with no inconveniences at all. This is an exceptional Onsen Accommodation that I’ll definitely return to.

Thank you for your hospitality. The bath, Room, and meals were all just as good as those at Accommodations that cost more than twice as much. The staff also kept the perfect level of attentiveness, making our stay very comfortable. The view of Ena Gorge from the Room window was spectacular, and we would love to visit again. Three of us stayed here as friends. We made a Reservation for the executive floor, so all three of us had spacious beds and a large Room. There were many perks, and we were able to fully enjoy our time. The large public bath also helped us relax both physically and mentally. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and it wasn’t crowded, so we could enjoy it at a leisurely pace. When we visit Kobe again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

I traveled to Tottori to see a friend from junior high school, and stayed at Hakusen, which my friend recommended. The meals and the hospitality were extremely satisfying, but I felt embarrassed because the bath was clearly visible from outside. The curtain only closed about one-third, and while you could say no one was really watching, I ended up making eye contact more than once. Other than that, it was great.

Both the Room and the restaurant had a Japanese-modern design, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The Onsen water was excellent, and because it is free-flowing, I was able to enjoy it many times. It had been a while since I last enjoyed truly delicious Japanese cuisine. The chef is licensed to prepare fugu, and the fried fugu they prepared was exceptionally good. Next time, I’d love to try the full fugu course. I also heard that they ran a sushi restaurant for many years—no wonder the sashimi, carefully selected with the chef’s expert eye, was outstanding. The Japanese dishes and sushi prepared by the brothers were absolutely superb. A sushi course would be wonderful as well. This is an Accommodation where I’ll continue looking forward to the food in the future, and it has become one of the places I’d like to stay again. I had a truly enjoyable time. Thank you very much to all of the staff.

The Wi‑Fi was fast and reliable, and the bath was very comfortable. I also appreciated the coffee service next to the front desk—freshly ground and delicious. Route Inn hotels are always convenient, and I will stay again next time.

On this trip, we visited Taisho Village and Hakusekikan. Although it was a weekday, the Hotel was very crowded and we couldn’t use the large public bath, but our Room had two baths, so it wasn’t a problem. The night view was beautiful, and we enjoyed the delicious meals. As this was after the renovation, the Room was very clean as well. We couldn’t park near the Hotel, so we used the Shuttle Service to Parking Lot No. 4 a short distance away. Thanks to that, we were also able to see Kasaiwa Rock near Parking Lot No. 4. We would like to stay at this Accommodation again if we have another opportunity. Thank you to all the staff, especially the Shuttle Service driver, for your kind help.

The price was very reasonable, and parking was free. We also appreciated that breakfast was included at no extra charge.

Affordable, and you can get to your car as soon as you step out the door—that was really convenient! We didn’t add meals, but we were given frozen curry. There were various other options as well. Coffee and other drinks are available next to the front desk, and the machine was a De’Longhi! The Facility was new and clean, and the air conditioning worked extremely well. The Room also has a microwave, and not only a refrigerator but also a freezer—so you can even store ice cream! I’d love to stay here again next time!

There is plenty of free parking, and I have no complaints about the Room or the breakfast. The only downside is that there are few dining options within walking distance, but AEON Mall is about a 10-minute drive away.

Check-in was hassle-free, and it was very convenient to park right in front of the Room. There were also supermarkets, family restaurants, and convenience stores nearby, which was perfect for me. Breakfast was included; it was frozen but still tasty. The only downside was that the hot water in the Room’s bath wasn’t consistent, but there were many more positives overall and I really liked it. It’s a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

There is an accommodation nestled in a forested hill within walking distance from Nakatsugawa Station. The expansive grounds are lush with greenery and feature scattered traditional detached buildings, exuding the charm of a mountain retreat. Surrounded by garden stones, plants, and tea flowers, the landscaping is meticulously maintained. The historic buildings showcase aged materials and fittings that reflect their history and character but are kept impeccably clean. Each unit has been updated with a spacious unit bath equipped with a washing area and modern toilet facilities for convenient use at any time. One of the detached buildings houses large communal baths for men and women, each featuring rectangular stone bathtubs that can accommodate several people along with two washing areas. Large glass windows open fully to reveal views of the bright forest outside. While not an onsen, it offers an atmosphere reminiscent of one. The accommodation is conveniently located near Magome and Tsumago, attracting many international guests seeking its unique ambiance. Meals are served in private dining rooms within separate annexes where guests can enjoy dishes at tables with chairs. The cuisine features innovative rural delicacies inspired by tea kaiseki style, showcasing creativity and meticulous preparation in every dish. Pure rice sake available in the room's refrigerator pairs perfectly with these meals. Nights here are quiet, offering warmth despite being housed in old Japanese-style architecture known for its gaps between structures. The hospitality provided by the staff adds to this warm experience as well.

I requested the Shuttle Service, and they responded very politely. The staff were also wonderful when explaining the Facility and helping with anything I didn’t understand. The Room was clean, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I expected there to be a lot of insects due to the season, but they weren’t noticeable even during dinner. The paths on the property were easy to walk on, and it seemed like leaves and other debris were kept nicely cleaned up. I would definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance.

This time, I stayed for the first time. There was information that the dinner was good, and I stayed with expectations, but I was very satisfied beyond what I imagined. The service was very good, and I had a pleasant stay. The bath and toilet washroom are shared, but even taking that into account, I would like to stay again next year.
