The views from the window—an unmanned station and the sea—were beautiful, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. Every dish was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab and shrimp. The Accommodation was quiet throughout, with a soothing atmosphere that made time feel as if it were gently passing by, allowing us to forget everyday life and truly unwind. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again in a different season.

True to its name as an auberge, the most outstanding part was, above all, the cuisine. The dishes created by a young chef in his twenties used local ingredients and were finished with techniques like careful cooking and fermentation that brought out each ingredient’s natural character. Each plate felt full of energy; the moment it touched my lips, deep, nourishing flavors overflowed. Everything was beautiful to look at as well, and my heart lifted every time a new dish arrived. Listening to the explanations of each course was also a pleasure. Conversation flowed naturally and effortlessly, and even though I stayed alone, I never felt lonely—I simply had a wonderful time. When I showed interest in the modern art throughout the property, I was delighted that the manager took the time to explain each piece one by one. I could sense the owner’s taste and philosophy behind the collection. Every work had its own character, including a Banksy lithograph. Rather than simply displaying art, it felt as though the owner’s aesthetic vision for what this Hotel should be was expressed throughout the entire space. The sea seen from the window was wonderfully calm; without rushing toward checkout time, I was able to relax at ease until departure. A Hotel stay filled with warm hospitality—I would love to return again.

Due to a change of plans, I made a Reservation the day before. It was a rainy day and I arrived early, but I was able to choose a book from the many available and enjoy reading at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand. The spacious bath, especially the bubble bath, was very soothing. The meals were so plentiful that I couldn’t finish everything. The sunrise the next morning was beautiful. There were also goats and rabbits, and if it were closer, it’s a place where I’d love to bring my dog for a Multiple Night Stay.

I have no complaints about the Ryokan. I was surprised to be able to enjoy red snow crab even in summer. The in-Room dining service was also excellent. Just one point: the sweet shrimp at dinner was outstanding, but the Ryokan I stayed at the next day in Amanohashidate was better in terms of the sweetness of its miso (probably just by chance...). I would definitely like to visit in winter.

This is a compact Accommodation. While the building has some age, it is kept very clean, and its compact size makes it easy to access the baths and dining area, making for a very comfortable stay. Our Room was on the first floor, but the view was outstanding—true to the Accommodation’s name, it was a spectacular panorama! The baths were my favorite type—an alkaline spring with a silky feel—and the view from the open-air bath was also breathtaking. For dinner we chose the “Bliss Course,” and that was absolutely the right choice: a wonderful meal packed with Sendai’s flavors. The Sendai Kuroge Wagyu beef grilled on magnolia leaves was tender and generous in portion, and the miso seasoning was exceptional. The beef tongue was also thick and tender; we had planned to eat beef tongue again the next day, but dinner left us completely satisfied, so our whole family agreed we didn’t need to—and we were able to keep our expenses down as well. The seafood and sashimi were delicious too; even the scallops were thick, and everything we tried was satisfying. Breakfast also included hot pot dishes and sashimi—almost like a light version of an inn-style dinner—and we left completely full. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

We stayed with my son’s family—six of us in two Rooms. There was a free shaved-ice service in the arrival lobby, which delighted the kids. The Room was spacious and comfortable. The only drawback was that we couldn’t adjust the air-conditioning temperature very well, but everything else was fine. The large Onsen public bath was also spacious, and we were able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. It may have been a circulated bath, as there was a slight chlorine smell, but there was also a sauna and we had a pleasant stay. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style for the first time in a while. Dinner offered all-you-can-eat sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki, steak, and more; breakfast was also very tasty, including local ingredients. I think this is a great Ryokan where three generations can enjoy themselves and everyone can be satisfied.

It was a wonderful Room with lovely interior design where you can relax in nature and enjoy the slow passage of time. It also has a small kitchen, and since you can buy vegetables and meat at the on-site market, it seemed possible to cook for yourself in the Room. It’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again.

The oyster gratin and other seafood dishes were outstanding. We would love to stay with you again.

When I mentioned in advance that we would be staying to celebrate a birthday, they prepared balloons and a congratulatory message in our Room, which truly moved us. They also kindly offered complimentary use of the private bath, so we were able to enjoy a very relaxing bathing time. We were also happy to receive a dessert plate at dinner. For the children, there was a fireworks set, a cute amenities set, gifts for answering quiz questions, and festival-style activities such as target shooting and string-pulling games. There was also self-serve shaved ice where you could adjust the portion size yourself, which was great. At the pool, there were free self-serve rentals of float rings and water guns as well, so we had a lot of fun. There was so much to enjoy that our child was absolutely delighted. We chose the breakfast and dinner buffet options. At dinner there was a live kitchen with hand-rolled sushi and steak (I think), and everything was very delicious. The value for money felt unbelievably good. We went right when service started, so it was probably mostly Japanese guests at first and only moderately busy; however, it gradually became more crowded as more international guests arrived. I think going earlier is more comfortable. The sea bream and tuna sushi were outstanding, and there were also sashimi offerings separately—since we are a family that loves seafood, we really appreciated it. If I had to mention areas for improvement: There was dust under the beds in our Room. Our child playfully reached under the bed and came out covered in dust, which was disappointing. Also (though this may be unavoidable due to the layout), the pool is not connected directly to the large public bath area; you have to move through indoor corridors within the building. After using the pool you need to change clothes before heading to the public bath area, which felt inconvenient—especially for families with children who likely want to bathe after swimming. Because coin laundry is free (and perhaps due to seasonal demand), there can be long waits. A notice said that if someone’s laundry cycle has finished, other guests may move it into a basket—but guests who hadn’t read it seemed startled that someone had moved their items without permission. I understood because I saw the notice myself, but it still didn’t feel great; I wondered if there might be another solution. Since it’s summer and free of charge—and everyone wants to use it—it may simply be inevitable. Overall, we were very satisfied. The value for money was so good that it almost made me wonder if everything was really okay! Thank you very much!

This villa resort was a place I had always wanted to stay at, and this summer my wish finally came true.\nAs soon as we parked, the staff greeted us by name before we even introduced ourselves.\nWe completed check-in while enjoying a welcome drink and fruit, then headed to our Room.\nSeeing the view in person—one I had only seen in photos—was truly moving.\nBoth the BBQ dinner and breakfast were excellent.\nSince this trip also celebrated my partner’s new job, I emailed to request a surprise dessert plate, and I’m very grateful for their thoughtful assistance.\nI’m so glad we stayed here—it became a once-in-a-lifetime memory.\nI hope to return again someday if I have the chance.

This was our first time staying here as three generations, and we truly enjoyed it. We were impressed by the building, the location, and the furnishings inside. Everything was provided—kitchen equipment, amenities, and more—and we were amazed at how well-equipped the Facility was. Each Room was spacious and had its own toilet and shower, and even with a group of 10 people, we were able to relax comfortably in the kitchen and living area. The children also loved having a kids’ Room on the second floor, running around in the garden, catching insects, and playing by the shore. The BBQ ingredients you prepared for us were fresh, plentiful, and delicious. Breakfast was also well-balanced and very tasty. We stayed for only one night this time, but our whole family is already talking about coming back for a Multiple Night Stay next time. Thank you very much for your kindness!

We visited just before the summer holiday season, and since there were fewer guests, they kindly upgraded our Room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a Room with an open-air bath, so we could soak in the Onsen many times and felt truly refreshed. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The large garden was in hydrangea and rose season, so we enjoyed strolling through the beautiful grounds. It was an early summer vacation for us—thank you very much!

As always, I soak in the spacious public bath, head back to my Room, hit the sauna like I always do, take a cold shower, and then slip into the Onsen in my Room. It’s the classic routine I’ve repeated many times whenever I stay at Sennentei. At dinner, I take a big gulp from a frosty mug—absolutely irresistible. Both dinner and breakfast are delicious, with all kinds of local specialties to enjoy. Tottori is truly a great place to spend a holiday, and Sennentei is especially relaxing even by Tottori standards. In May, stocking up on Ohara tomatoes on the way home—and in late August, buying plenty of Nijisseiki pears—is another one of my usual traditions.

We were able to relax in a quiet setting surrounded by nature. The spacious open-air bath attached to the Room was very comfortable, and we could unwind in the Onsen water. The amenities (especially ReFa) were excellent. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the Room at a leisurely pace with our family.

I had always remembered that my late mother stayed here about 35 years ago and said it was a wonderful Hotel, so I decided to stay this time. We originally made a Reservation for two Rooms for six people across three generations, but one person couldn’t come due to work, and then two days before our stay my father and brother (in a separate household) came down with fevers from colds. In the end, our group was reduced by half, but despite the repeated changes, you handled everything very kindly and thoughtfully. Thank you. We arrived at 11:30 after checkout time and planned to park our car first and go sightseeing in Matsushima by the Hotel shuttle bus. However, your staff told us we could complete check-in procedures in advance, and when we returned they arranged it so we could simply pick up the key at a separate counter and go straight to our Room. This helped us avoid crowds and was truly appreciated. Because I have difficulty walking, I requested an ocean-side Japanese-Western style Room. The view was excellent, the Room was very comfortable, and the air conditioning was just right. We could see the sunrise directly in front of us. For dinner we chose the seafood buffet; there were many kinds of sashimi and grilled items, each dish was high quality—it was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed it. At breakfast as well, they cooked items like cheese omelets individually on the spot for each guest. The food exceeded our expectations! As for the baths, there were no issues at all. At sunrise time, watching the sun rise over Matsushima Bay right in front of the open-air bath moved me deeply. For someone like me with limited mobility, getting around was easy—the layout made sense and walking distances were reasonable—so it wasn’t physically taxing. It helped me truly understand why my mother, who had limited use of her hands and feet due to a similar condition, said this Hotel was so good. With check-in at 14:00 and checkout at 11:00, being able to relax without rushing is another great point. The staff service; the view from the Room; amenities; meals; baths—everything made this an excellent Hotel. When I come to Matsushima again, I sincerely want to stay at Taikanso again! Since expectations are high now that I know how good it is firsthand next time I'd like a Multiple Night Stay so I can enjoy other meals as well. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We had to cancel our Okinawa trip due to a typhoon. Then I remembered Iojima, which my husband’s mother had recommended, and looked it up. Because it was last-minute, the only availability was a BBQ Plan in a dog-friendly Room, but we made a Reservation anyway—and it turned out to be amazing! We don’t have pets, so I worried about odors or hearing dogs from other Rooms, but everything was spotless and we didn’t notice anything at all. The Room also had an ocean view and felt incredibly refreshing. For dinner, we thought two days of BBQ in the summer heat might be too much, so we asked the front desk—just in case—if we could change one day’s meal. They kindly accommodated us, and on the second night we were able to enjoy a course dinner. (This may have been because we originally booked an upgraded option above the standard BBQ.) The BBQ itself was delicious with plenty of variety, and eating while looking out at the sea was fantastic. For breakfast, we could choose from three different restaurants with different menus. Guests could also enjoy complimentary lemon water and chilled tea at various spots around the island. There were lots of activities: sports and games in the gym; ocean athletics and marine sports (extra charge) by the beach; a manga corner near the baths; an indoor pool; Onsen facilities; and even an open-air bath with ocean views. We truly had an incredible three days. Since each area is spread out, you can rent bicycles for free, and there is also a shuttle bus that circulates around the island. All of the Accommodation staff were kind and attentive, helping us create wonderful family memories. Thank you very much.

The Hotel is located right in front of Miyajima Port, making access excellent and extremely convenient. Even before check-in and after check-out, we could use the lounge and enjoy ice cream, coffee, and other drinks. Depending on the time of day, there was also a momiji manju service, plus vouchers to redeem momiji manju at shops on Miyajima (including fried momiji), and candy ice cream after the bath—everything was thoughtfully provided. The facilities were very clean, and the buffet featured carefully prepared dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. With an all-inclusive plan that included alcohol as well, we were very satisfied overall. The lemon herb tea in the restaurant was especially delicious; we highly appreciated that it used Hiroshima lemons and herbs, to the point that we wanted to buy it. We think it would be great if it were sold in the Hotel’s souvenir corner or similar shop.

We stayed as a family, and it was comfortable from start to finish! The building feels a bit traditional, but the inside is bright, and we could sense thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, which made it very relaxing. All the staff were pleasant, and the cleaning throughout the property was thorough. We wanted to play at the beach and also watch the sunset, so we worried about meal times—but it turned out to be unnecessary. While we were out, they prepared our in-room dinner, and for sashimi—where freshness is everything—they served it after we returned. When an announcement about the sunset played over the PA system during dinner, a staff member came by to turn off the grill so we could take our time watching from the rooftop bench. (You can also see it from your Room, but the view is better from the rooftop. To get there, you need to go up one flight of stairs.) At dinner we also enjoyed dancing grilled live abalone. (One didn’t move even after lighting it; when we mentioned it, they replaced it immediately, so we could eat with peace of mind.) I thought just the standard course might not be enough, but it was plenty. The bath was great because we had it all to ourselves. We also appreciated the lounge coffee and post-bath ice cream. Breakfast was filling and delicious as well. Overall, this Accommodation exceeded our expectations. There were many stylish places nearby and we debated where to stay, but I’m glad we chose Kaishu.

We searched for an all-inclusive, ocean-view Hotel with breakfast and dinner buffets and a pool, and stayed here as a family during our summer vacation. The wide variety of all-inclusive options, the breakfast and dinner buffets with live cooking stations, the pool, and the many types of Onsen were all wonderful. We also enjoyed the free soap-making activity with our child. Everyone at the Hotel was truly kind. They always greeted us with smiles and attentive service, never showing any sign of being busy or affected by the heat. We were deeply impressed by their hospitality and were able to relax at a very leisurely pace. Even during the Shuttle Service on our departure day, they saw us off at the bus despite how busy mornings are—we were touched until the very end. We would definitely like to stay again. It was an amazing summer memory for both children and adults—everything was taken care of.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip—our first visit to Sanriku since the earthquake. We were excited, wondering what kind of Hotel it would be, and were surprised to learn that members of the Imperial Family have stayed here! There were rows of photos displayed in front of the elevators on the lobby floor. Wondering what our Room would be like, we entered the one assigned to us—and right in front of us was a panoramic view of Jodogahama! We couldn’t help saying to each other, “What a great Room!” After taking in the view, we headed straight to the large public bath. It also had an open-air bath, and we enjoyed a relaxing soak. Since we had time before dinner, we spent it singing karaoke—by then we were nicely hungry. Dinner was a luxurious buffet, featuring live kitchen stations for nigiri sushi and steak—our first time experiencing that. There were also many local dishes, and we ended up far beyond full. We had breakfast early at 6:30: a buffet seafood rice bowl where you can choose your favorite toppings. Although it was unfortunately raining outside, the sea view had an atmospheric beauty like an ink painting. It became a truly memorable anniversary trip. As we left the Hotel, we talked about wanting to come back again for another anniversary in a few years’ time. Finally, thank you so much to all the staff for your wonderful hospitality!
