We stayed here as a couple with our dog. Everyone was very kind and gentle with our dog as well, so we felt at ease throughout our stay. Thank you for your warm hospitality. The food was outstanding—well beyond five stars. It’s rare to be able to enjoy both dinner and breakfast in the Room with our dog, and we truly appreciated it. We sincerely hope Wakura Onsen will recover soon and regain its vibrant Onsen town atmosphere. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

This was my first trip to Aomori, and I stayed here. I relaxed in the Onsen at length, and the kaiseki cuisine served in the spacious dining area was rich in local character—truly luxurious and delicious. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was wonderful, and thanks to them I had a very relaxing time. I was also moved by Shiko Munakata’s vibrant woodblock prints on display, which left me feeling refreshed and energized. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to visit again.

I stayed here for a friend’s birthday. The food was delicious, and the place was spacious and wonderful! Above all, the Onsen had a great variety, was clean, and helped me feel refreshed! However, it was a bit disappointing to find some hair in the Room and one of the lights wasn’t working. Other than that, I had a really great stay! Thank you very much! Next time I come back, I’d like to stay in a larger Room!

We stayed here for a family trip for the first time in a while. It was a wonderful Accommodation, just as friends had recommended if we were staying in Dogo. As many Reviews mention, the location is truly excellent. It’s close to Dogo Onsen Honkan, and it was an easy walk—enjoying shopping along the arcade—to Dogo Onsen Station and the Karakuri Clock. We had informed them in advance that we would use the parking lot, and upon arrival they kindly guided us there, which made it very easy to understand. Our Room was on the 7th floor with a great view over Dogo town; our son relaxed while looking out at the scenery the whole time. Thank you for arranging such a nice view. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and everything was delicious. A staff member in training quickly noticed and cleared empty plates, so even with four of us we could keep plenty of space on the table. We were especially happy to be able to try tai-meshi. The bath—praised by my family as well (“I’m glad you chose an Accommodation with an open-air bath!”)—was a comfortable size. The open-air bath felt wonderful with the night breeze; we could look up at the sky and unwind, which really eased our daily fatigue. In the morning there were fewer people as well, so we could soak slowly. The relaxation area prepared outside the bath (the water was delicious) also had chairs by the window with a panoramic view. It was great being able to enjoy both nighttime and morning views of Dogo. Before our stay I emailed some questions; they replied quickly and explained everything carefully, which helped us feel at ease. If I had one small suggestion, it would be that an exhaust fan in the toilet inside the guest Room would have been nice. Overall, everyone on staff was very pleasant and we were very satisfied. Our trip to Dogo Onsen became a wonderful memory thanks to choosing Chaharu. Thank you very much.

It had been a while since I last visited Hokkaido. Because the price was reasonable, I didn’t have overly high expectations, but after actually staying here, it was a perfect 10/10. I would definitely like to stay again next time. I also want to recommend it to everyone. Thank you very much.

Under new management, a company from Yugawara is working hard. Despite being a building from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, it’s still going strong. Given today’s smoking restrictions, the smoking Room is a rare find. The thoughtful touch of burning incense to remove unpleasant odors was wonderful. The window frames are traditional wood—an impressive and valuable feature. Even though there were seven guests staying, the meals were plentiful. We were very satisfied. The future may be uncertain, but please keep it up. We’ll come again.

The location is excellent, and we were told the bath uses the same hot spring source as Dogo Onsen Honkan. The water in this Hotel’s bath might have been even better (lol). Disposable slippers were provided, and breakfast was good. The price is reasonable, and the Room was clean as it had been renovated, though it was on a lower floor. There isn’t a smoking area nearby, so it’s best to bring a portable ashtray. The parking lot under the Hotel is small, but there is also Hotel parking nearby.

This was my second stay since 2018. As always, every dish at dinner was delicious, and I was very satisfied. The hospitality was also wonderful, and I truly appreciated the advice for visiting Matsumoto Castle the next day. Thanks to your guidance, we were able to sightsee smoothly without feeling the heat too much. If I have the opportunity again, I would love to stay with you in a different season. Perhaps because it was before Golden Week and we visited during a season without fireworks, it was quiet and very comfortable. The in-Room bath with free-flowing hot spring water and the large public bath were both excellent, and the breakfast had plenty of variety—this has become an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. For my morning bath, I enjoyed a beer while leisurely looking out over Lake Toya; it was a truly luxurious time. As for service, perhaps because there are many international guests, we were suddenly spoken to in English, and there were quite a few moments where I felt the staff could use a bit more training—so I’m giving it a 4.

The Onsen is a beautiful blue color. The open-air bath is set in lush nature and very relaxing. The meals are delicious, and the restaurant is a lovely wooden building; since it has private rooms, you can dine at a leisurely pace. The staff were very kind—because it was raining, they came to greet us in the parking lot with an umbrella. There were many international staff members, so there were moments when Japanese was hard to communicate in, but everyone was hardworking and friendly. The building feels old, but the inside is clean with a cozy mountain-lodge atmosphere. I stayed on a weekday in June and was surprised at how affordable it was considering how good the service was. When I visit Yufuin, I definitely want to stay at this Hotel again.

I always stay at Itoen Hotel when I travel. The Room was spacious, a blend of Japanese and Western style, and very clean. Since the Hotel isn’t very large, it was easy to get around with short walks to the dining area and the large public bath. The all-you-can-drink buffet at this price was very satisfying—there were two types of sake and three types of shochu, which was perfect for alcohol lovers. The large public bath was spacious and relaxing. As always, it was an Accommodation with excellent value that never disappoints. Thank you very much.

The best location right in front of Sanshiro Island! An open-air bath with a view from the Room! Unfortunately, the weather was bad so we couldn’t see the sunset… Definitely coming back next time!

My grandmother was not feeling well, and we truly appreciate that you promptly changed our Room from the annex to the main building.\nThe food was excellent and became a wonderful memory for us.\nWe would love to visit again.

We enjoyed the Reservation-only open-air bath, the cave bath, and having them privately. We expected it to be crowded during Obon, but we were lucky to enter the cave bath smoothly. In the morning, the large public bath also felt like we had it all to ourselves—another lucky moment. The meals were enjoyable both dinner and breakfast, with a wide variety of dishes. The eel was delicious. The Room was spacious and comfortable. One thing: both beds squeaked a lot, which surprised us. The mattress and bedding were comfortable, so that was disappointing.

Dinner was delicious no matter what we tried, with refined flavors and generous portions.

This was my first stay here. The Room was clean, with a great view, and when I looked down from the open-air bath I could see the mountain railway tracks; when a train passed by, I could hear the clattering sound, which added to the atmosphere. However, it felt inconvenient that the bath and washbasin area were separate and required passing through the Room. I also wished there had been a shower hook at a lower height, and that the bathtub had been a bit larger. The meals were delicious, but the champagne we requested during meal preparation arrived late—only after several dishes had already been served—so if it was going to take time, I would have liked to be informed at the start. We also enjoyed having tea sweets in the Room as something to look forward to as souvenirs, but they weren’t available in the shop, which was disappointing.

All the staff were extremely courteous, and we had a very comfortable stay. The meals were delicious, and the private open-air bath was especially relaxing and wonderful. The complimentary services were also excellent, so we enjoyed our time in the property as well. They kindly recommended places to visit for our planned Kanazawa sightseeing the next day, which made it even more enjoyable.

This Hotel is conveniently located for visiting Hongu Taisha Shrine and walking the Kumano Kodo. As this plan is No Meals Included, you will need to buy food before check-in or go to Hongu to eat, but please note that places close early. The Onsen is excellent.

The Room and Facility are slightly old, but the layout was satisfactory. The large public bath and breakfast buffet deserve five stars. It would be perfect if there were additional outlets on the side. Great value for money!
