Once again, our whole family had a wonderful two-day stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally kind and attentive as always, and we truly appreciate it. A variety of food and drinks are also available in the lobby, which our children look forward to every time. This time as well, they were especially excited for the brown sugar buns and warabi mochi, and they were delighted. We were also very satisfied with the pool, including the slide. Both dinner and breakfast were very luxurious and made for a great time together. Thank you as always. We will definitely stay again.

I stayed one night at Kashotei and had a truly soothing, relaxing time. The cuisine was outstanding—rooted in Japanese food yet incorporating French elements, it was creative and impressed me with unexpected ingredient combinations. As someone who loves tableware, I also found it delightful. The staff were wonderful and treated my elderly parents with warm hospitality. This is an Accommodation I sincerely want to visit again.

We stayed again this year, following last year’s visit. This time, it was a 2-night, 3-day beach trip for three of us: an elderly couple and our granddaughter (first grade). Both on arrival and departure, the staff guided us in the parking lot, helped carry our luggage, and spoke to us kindly—this was extremely helpful. Working in this heat must be tough; thank you for all your hard work. The building was very clean, and the Room cleaning was thorough. The meals were delicious, and we enjoyed dinner both nights while watching beautiful sunsets. The dinner style differed between the first and second nights: on the first night we had a kaiseki course featuring Murakami beef shabu-shabu as the main dish, and on the second night we had a seafood kaiseki course. Both the Murakami beef on day one and the crab on day two were excellent—our granddaughter finished her crab within minutes of starting dinner. If I had to ask for one thing, I would have loved even a small portion of Murakami beef on the second night as well, since it’s something you can only eat when visiting this area (though we do make use of hometown tax donations). We were originally told that dinner would be at “Kaiou” on both nights, but about 15 minutes before dinner on the second night we suddenly received notice of a venue change. The staff member apologized repeatedly; however, in a Hotel that accommodates so many guests, it actually reassured me that careful checks are being done in advance. Buffet-style dining isn’t bad, but for an elderly couple like us, having kaiseki served at just the right timing is much easier. I sincerely hope you will continue offering it. It’s also wonderful that right behind the Hotel is a beach with excellent access: after leaving the beach we could rinse off sand at the outdoor showers and head straight to the Onsen. There was even a washing machine available to rinse swimsuits—truly convenient. After soaking in the Onsen, all three of us relaxed in the lobby while enjoying complimentary Momotaro ice pops. On day two, when we asked at reception for advice so we could enjoy swimming at Sasagawa Nagare Beachline area more fully—including which beach and where to park—they kindly helped us with great care. There was also plenty of information we couldn’t get from checking with AI beforehand; combining both made our trip even more enjoyable. Local knowledge really is invaluable. On our final day as well—at our granddaughter’s request—we enjoyed swimming until mid-afternoon before rinsing off sand in the shower and saltiness in the Onsen prior to heading home. Driving back to Tokyo after swimming was tiring, but it became a fulfilling trip full of wonderful memories. If my stamina holds up, I’d love to come again next year. Thank you very much.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

I was happy with the matcha service right after arrival. The Onsen had wonderful water, and the sea breeze felt great. The Room was clean and I slept soundly. The meals were carefully prepared with local ingredients and were truly delicious—the rice was excellent too. Thank you for accommodating my allergies. After both dinner and breakfast, I was able to relax in the lounge while enjoying drinks.\nEveryone’s hospitality was attentive, and I had a very pleasant stay.

The building feels a bit old, but the Accommodation is clean and well maintained throughout. The front desk staff were all polite and kind. Because it was hot, they kindly let us into our Room earlier than the check-in time, which was a big help. We had a beautiful view of Lake Shinji from the Room. The Onsen was very relaxing, and dinner was delicious—we were able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. We also made a Reservation for the private bath, and it was truly amazing. A must-try! Everything was wonderful, and it’s an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again.

It was our first family trip in six years. The Ryokan’s atmosphere, the meals, and the open-air bath in our Room were all outstanding. My family was very happy as well.

I love the meals here and have returned several times. This time, I enjoyed the chef’s special kaiseki featuring splendid alfonsino, and truly savored it. Everything was delicious. The dishes were beautiful to look at as well, and I was reminded how Japanese cuisine lets you enjoy the seasons. I spent a relaxing, elegant holiday and felt completely recharged. Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtful hospitality.

We stayed as a family, and it was comfortable from start to finish! The building feels a bit traditional, but the inside is bright, and we could sense thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, which made it very relaxing. All the staff were pleasant, and the cleaning throughout the property was thorough. We wanted to play at the beach and also watch the sunset, so we worried about meal times—but it turned out to be unnecessary. While we were out, they prepared our in-room dinner, and for sashimi—where freshness is everything—they served it after we returned. When an announcement about the sunset played over the PA system during dinner, a staff member came by to turn off the grill so we could take our time watching from the rooftop bench. (You can also see it from your Room, but the view is better from the rooftop. To get there, you need to go up one flight of stairs.) At dinner we also enjoyed dancing grilled live abalone. (One didn’t move even after lighting it; when we mentioned it, they replaced it immediately, so we could eat with peace of mind.) I thought just the standard course might not be enough, but it was plenty. The bath was great because we had it all to ourselves. We also appreciated the lounge coffee and post-bath ice cream. Breakfast was filling and delicious as well. Overall, this Accommodation exceeded our expectations. There were many stylish places nearby and we debated where to stay, but I’m glad we chose Kaishu.

Because I rarely have the chance to travel with family or close friends, I usually travel alone. Soaking in the Onsen helps me clear my mind. Enjoying delicious food is a true happiness. What’s more, Shin Tsuta brings me peace, so I return again and again. This is very important to me. The sense of calm and fulfillment I feel is thanks to the warmth and character of each and every member of your staff. That calm and fulfillment also makes me feel as if it restores my purity. When I get home, I already want to go back to Shin Tsuta—like when I was young, after seeing my sweetheart and returning to the dormitory, I immediately wanted to see them again.

We stayed in the Force Room. Thank you for accommodating our last-minute Reservation.\nAlthough the Room is a separate building with a thatched roof, it is not an old traditional house; the interior has the latest facilities, so we were able to stay as comfortably as we would at a city Hotel.\nFrom the Room, we could see the thatched roofs of other rooms, and it felt like we had traveled back in time to another world.\nWe used the spacious open-air bath in our Room; the hot spring water was slightly cloudy with mineral deposits floating on top, and it was wonderful.\nThe large public bath is also right by the river, offering an open, airy feel and an excellent location.\nHighly recommended Accommodation.

We visited with great anticipation, having heard this Accommodation has a 150-year history. From the warm welcome at arrival, everyone greeted us with smiles, and our expectations immediately rose. We were escorted to our Room by a staff member, and the attentive service was remarkably detailed—something rare these days. The building has been beautifully renovated. Relaxing in the lounge surrounded by nature while looking out over the clear stream of the Hoki River was wonderful, and our conversations flowed easily. The facilities and our Room were spacious and spotless, and the gentle scent of incense was delightful. Every staff member we passed had a soothing smile. Dinner was carefully prepared, and the thoughtfully chosen tableware made it feel even more delicious. My mother and aunt—both very particular about food—praised it highly as well; we were truly impressed by the flavors of the ingredients themselves. The semi-open-air bath in our Room and the public baths felt silky soft on the skin, so we enjoyed them again and again. It seemed to promote perspiration; we warmed up from deep within, and all fatigue melted away. There were also table tennis, massages, and more available to enjoy—the service is thorough in every way. We also heard that for a Multiple Night Stay, different dishes are served each day. After dinner, we took a walk along the Hoki River and saw fireflies drifting through an enchanting scene—it felt magical. This became an unforgettable memory of this Accommodation. On the drive home we were already saying, “Let’s come back for a Multiple Night Stay in another season.” At a time when many places are simplifying their services, we are truly grateful to have found such a wonderful Accommodation with such attentive hospitality. We will recommend it to friends and acquaintances as well. Thank you very much.

Despite changing the number of guests just one day before, they kindly called back and responded promptly. The private bath and the meals were excellent; the hot pot broth was so delicious that we drank it all and ended up completely full. The handmade soba had a great bite, and the freshly cooked rice was glossy and so good that we had seconds even though we were already full. The bath water had natural mineral deposits, leaving our skin smooth and soothing both body and mind from everyday fatigue. Thank you very much.

We originally planned to stay near Nikko Station, but we made a Reservation after seeing the great Reviews. The Facility is certainly old, but there is also a private bath, so we were able to relax. Above all, the food was absolutely delicious! Dinner was French cuisine with both fish and meat, and breakfast was a generous spread including fluffy omelets and juicy sausages. My family who traveled with me was very satisfied as well. Thank you very much.

This time, we stayed during the firefly season in late May. After dinner, just as the Accommodation advised us, we walked to a viewing spot along the “Yoboshigawa” River that flows near the Accommodation. Due to the impact of flooding a few years ago, we were told there are fewer fireflies now, so it wasn’t quite “firefly hunting,” but my spouse and I enjoyed watching fireflies flitting about here and there, feeling like kids again for a while. The viewing spot on the Yoboshigawa River is about 400 meters south of the Accommodation along the road, making for a nice post-dinner walk (haha). After that, it was back to enjoying the Onsen. I’ve written reviews several times in the past about their hospitality and service, meals, and Onsen/baths; as always, we received warm hospitality and had another very satisfying stay this time as well. We’ll be back again.

As we did last year, we visited again during the summer holidays this year. All of the staff were kind and attentive, and we were able to spend a truly pleasant time. The kids’ events unique to the summer holidays were also fantastic. The meals and baths were flawless. Thank you for a stay that made us want to come back again!

I visited again for the first time in six years (both last time and this time were almost the same dates, just one day apart). I made a Reservation with a similar grade to last time, but the price had inevitably gone up (which can’t be helped). The meal course also felt slightly downgraded compared to last time—especially the final sea bream rice (I later noticed there was also a Plan with the same content as before)—but both the quality and quantity were excellent. They preserve traditional good elements while incorporating new ideas, and even the tableware is thoughtfully chosen. I could really feel their attention to detail that keeps things engaging not only in taste but also in presentation (I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, and this is my favorite in this price range). The service staff seemed relatively young (as I recall feeling similarly last time), but they are well trained, very attentive without being overbearing, and I was able to relax throughout the night. Since six years had passed since my previous stay, I expected the Room might show some wear, but it was well maintained and seemed just as clean as before. I would definitely like to visit again. We stayed here for a pre-baby trip. The property was very clean, and the guidance from check-in to our Room was consistently courteous. We were able to spend our time comfortably from start to finish. Since I was pregnant, I had some dietary restrictions and ingredients I couldn’t eat, so we made several requests. They kindly accommodated everything thoroughly, which we truly appreciated. Every dish was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Onsen was also wonderful, and we were able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. We are really glad we chose this place for our pre-baby trip. It’s unfortunate that due to the age restriction we won’t be able to visit for a while after the baby is born, but we plan to recommend it to our parents and friends. We look forward to the day when we can visit again as a family.

This was my first time staying here. It was close to the train station, and transportation access was excellent. There were also many nearby shops such as convenience stores and eateries, so the location was great. The Room was clean, and the amenities were well stocked for the price. The front desk staff were efficient and explained everything clearly in a short time. I didn’t use breakfast because I wanted to check out early, but it looked very good when I passed by. Next time, I’d like to have breakfast as well. I would like to stay here again when I visit Matsuyama to pay respects at a grave.

The sashimi boat platter at dinner was stunning and tasted amazing. Our whole family loved it, and we really enjoyed our drinks. Of course, the other dishes were delicious as well. Breakfast was a buffet, and the sashimi was excellent too. The sauna was very clean and relaxing. It opens from 4:00 a.m., so we could refresh with an early-morning sauna. We’d definitely love to come again.
