We stayed for one night and two days. The Accommodation is along the Kamogawa River and close to Shijo, making it a great location. Check-in was handled by staff and went smoothly. We had a Reservation for a 4th-floor Room with a Kamogawa view; the Room was spacious and very clean. Best of all, the full-height windows let you enjoy an unobstructed view of the river all to yourself. You can even soak in the bath while looking out over the Kamogawa. Coffee and water were provided, and the amenities were well stocked. The showerhead and hair dryer are ReFa, which many women will appreciate. There’s also a drum-type washing machine and a small kitchen, which would be especially convenient for inbound guests staying long term. Inside the building, you can freely access the 2nd-floor lounge and the rooftop. The rooftop has chairs and tables, so you can enjoy the Kamogawa at night while feeling the evening breeze. We ordered shojin-ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) for breakfast, and it was delicious. It was delivered to our Room by someone who seemed to be from a nearby traditional restaurant or catering shop. The location, Facility, and food were all excellent. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Kyoto in peace and quiet.

This Accommodation is well equipped to create an extraordinary getaway, and the bathroom in particular left a strong impression. Soaking in the jacuzzi while enjoying the ocean view, and feeling the sea breeze on the balcony, was truly wonderful. The downstairs kitchen was also easy to use, and overall the stay was comfortable. The location is convenient as well, with good access to Chichibugahama Beach in Kanonji City and Mt. Shiude. However, there were a few issues that cannot be overlooked. There are warehouses and factories behind the building, which differed from what we expected in terms of scenery. In addition, when opening the windows at night there was an odor like feces, which was a major drawback. We felt these points should have been clearly explained in advance. Another disappointment was the lack of adequate space to store clothing. Despite multiple closets in the bedroom, only a very limited area—enough for about five hangers—was available for guests to use.

Drink tickets are provided, and we enjoyed delicious food.

I often visit the nearby shops, so I’d been curious about this place for a while and decided to stay. It’s set slightly back from the main street, but the attached bakery is delicious, and there are many great restaurants nearby, making it a very convenient location. The interior has a modern Japanese style, and the solid wood flooring feels great even barefoot. The standout feature is the large hinoki bath. Even tall guests can stretch their legs out comfortably, and the scent of hinoki is very relaxing. It’s rare to find such a large hinoki bath even at other Hotels. The tub can also be filled automatically, which was fantastic. All Facilities are up to date, and there was nothing inconvenient compared with staying at a Hotel. Since this is a renovated property with traditional-sized beams, guests over 180 cm may bump their head, so please be careful—it’s annoying at first but you get used to it. There are some downsides—like the TV being hard to figure out and the stairs being steep—but the biggest thing to note is that because this Facility shares space with shops, you can hear more noise than expected from early morning as the bakery prepares for opening. During the day as well, you can clearly hear customers and probably children of people eating in. From the large opening at the back of the second floor and from the rear garden area, you can also smell bread coming in from the bakery. Whether this feels noisy or adds to its machiya character may depend on personal preference. There were moments when it didn’t feel very calm, but overall it was a good experience. The facility was excellent, but there were issues with missing supplies and lack of management. - Despite being informed in advance that outdoor sandals would not be provided, they were available upon arrival after purchasing and bringing our own. - Water leakage from the air conditioner vent above the living room entrance. - Burnt-out light bulb in the living room floor lamp. - Poor drainage in the 2nd-floor bathroom, making it difficult to drain water smoothly. - No toilet paper or spare rolls in the 2nd-floor toilet. - Malfunctioning massage chair on the 2nd floor. - Complimentary water was stated as 500ml per person + one 2L bottle; however, for a group of four staying two nights, only eight 500ml bottles and one 2L bottle were provided. - No spare paper towels in the kitchen. - Insufficient towels provided overall. - Only a small amount of used olive oil available in the kitchen supplies. Attempts to contact via listed numbers resulted only in being told that confirmation with responsible staff would be needed without immediate answers—likely due to outsourcing management responsibilities—but stricter oversight is necessary as these issues inconvenience guests significantly.

The receptionist was a foreigner, but they spoke Japanese well.

The issues pointed out in previous reviews have not been improved, and I felt that reviews are not being reflected. It seemed that the influence of reviews is being underestimated. Additional concerns: ○ The washroom area is too small. When washing your face, water spills below and it becomes very wet. ○ There is no way to lock from the inside apart from the auto-lock, leaving security concerns. ○ The entire room is dark with only daylight color lighting. These were the points that concerned me during this stay. Good points: ○ The futon was soft and did not cause body pain. ○ Since hair on the futon under the sheets is visible, it seems necessary to make it a priority cleaning target. ○ Strong force is required to open and close the bathroom door. Even if the door glass breaks due to force (unavoidable), it should not be a liability issue. Height adjustment with a plane, etc., should be done promptly.

This may be one of the highest-quality places we’ve stayed at for an affordable price for a family of four. At a typical Accommodation, even paying about three times more, you might end up with a dirtier Room. That said, it feels mainly geared toward guests from overseas.

It was a very stylish Accommodation. We initially had trouble unlocking the door, but they handled it politely and promptly. Overall, it was a spacious and comfortable Accommodation, and we were very satisfied with our stay. This is a minor point, but since the place prioritizes style, I’d recommend it to those who value that—however, I felt some functionality may have been sacrificed, so I’ll note a few things for anyone who might care: - The bedroom lighting cannot be dimmed. It looked like it could be done with the remote, but it didn’t work. - The bathroom is not very user-friendly: there’s nowhere to put items and no chair/stool. We also couldn’t figure out how to use the ceiling shower. - There aren’t enough towels provided for a Multiple Night Stay. We used a coin laundry every day along with other laundry, but some people may find this inconvenient. That said, these are small issues. We were able to relax as a family without worrying about others around us, and we had a fulfilling time using it as our base for sightseeing around Golden Week. Thank you very much.

The bathroom and toilet were separate, the price was reasonable, and we were very satisfied. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

Yahoo Travel stated that checkout was 11:00, but in fact it was 10:00. We left our luggage and went out for breakfast, and when we returned around 10:40, housekeeping had already entered the room. It was a bit disappointing.

I found a Plan that does not use wheat flour, vegetable oils, dairy products, or sugar, and stayed here looking forward to these meals. An Accommodation offering a “Four Toxins-Free Plan” is still rare across the whole country, so it felt like I had finally found one. There were many dishes, all of them truly delicious, and I left completely full. I was very satisfied. It may have been the best food I’ve had at any Ryokan I’ve stayed at so far. Niigata Prefecture is far from my home and not somewhere I often get the chance to visit, but that made the sightseeing feel fresh as well, and I had a wonderful time.

Thank you for accommodating our request to change the room due to a concern about the smell. The new room had a view of Mt. Fuji, though it was partially obscured by clouds. We managed to capture some photos during the morning when it was visible. We heard that this room has recently been renovated to be barrier-free. The entrance features half tatami flooring, and the low table makes it easy to open suitcases. Although we didn’t use the private bath in the room, there is a large public Onsen on the first floor accessible with a passcode for added security, allowing us to enjoy bathing with peace of mind. The Onsen includes three showers, one baby chair, and amenities such as cleansing oil, face wash, lotion, moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, cotton swabs, and cotton pads—all provided for your convenience. Please bring towels from your room when visiting. There were also several electric bicycles available and even some popular bikes on display in what seemed like an exhibition area. In front of the first-floor Onsen area are manga books and various play items available for guests' enjoyment. Yukata robes are provided nearby: sizes include 120cm for children; one size (150–160cm) for women; and options for men as well. While the exterior may appear aged from outside at first glance, inside is very clean with noticeable updates such as new carpets in hallways (at least on floors we explored). The café space on ground level adds charm too! In mornings limited-time complimentary coffee service awaits guests—a delightful touch before heading out exploring locally! On next day’s itinerary included visit Café Mont Blanc nearby—thankful parking arrangements made everything seamless enhancing overall experience greatly! Truly memorable trip indeed thanks again wholeheartedly choosing stay here Fujiyoshida region left lasting impression surely returning future stays accommodations same place!!

I found the self check-in convenient. However, although I originally planned to stay with my husband, I ended up staying alone. The screen still showed 2 guests, so I politely asked if it was okay to change it. A female front desk staff member in her 40s did not listen to what I was saying and said, “If you don’t understand, shall we do it here?” (the usual front desk service), assuming on her own that I didn’t know how to operate it. She spoke in a condescending way with an exasperated look, which made me feel uncomfortable. The other staff members were very kind.

It wasn’t like the Hotels I’ve stayed at before or a fully equipped Ryokan, but it had a relaxing atmosphere and warm hospitality. There is no toilet or washbasin in the Room, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. There was a piano in the Room—are guests allowed to play it? The Onsen is spacious enough for two people to enjoy comfortably, and you can also use it as a private bath without making a Reservation. On the second day, checkout was at 12:00, so we could take our time. They also stored our luggage while we went to collect Gorogoro Water and visit Godaimatsu Limestone Cave, which made sightseeing much easier. The elderly gentleman kindly said, “It’s hot down below, so please take care of yourself.” After returning to Osaka, I somehow felt lighter and full of energy! It was a mysterious place—somewhere between the world below and heaven.

I had wanted to stay here for some time, and on this occasion I came up to Tokyo from a cooler area for my son’s engagement ceremony. The front desk staff were efficient and very helpful, which made me feel at ease. The Room was convenient and comfortable, but even with the air conditioning on, it felt quite humid and a bit uncomfortable. Even so, considering my overall impression of APA Hotel and the excellent service from the staff, I would like to stay again.

This was my second stay in three months. All the staff were kind and responded politely. I caused some trouble because I didn't know how to use the safe, but they taught me without a hint of annoyance, saying, "It's okay." There is basically no daily cleaning, and during my 3-night, 4-day stay, it was only done once during the day on the third day. However, you can get new towels at the front desk, and since I was often out during the day, it didn't bother me at all. What I liked most about this hotel was the rooftop sky lounge. When it comes to viewing the night view, tourist spots are crowded, and rooms with a night view in hotels tend to be expensive... In such a situation, I was happy to be able to leisurely enjoy the night view of Tokyo. There are also two coin-operated laundry machines on the first floor, so if the timing is right, you don't have to go to a nearby laundromat, which was convenient. I would like to stay here again when I visit Tokyo.

I used this Accommodation for a business trip. The location is between Ginza and Shimbashi. It’s a little far from the nearest station, but still within a 10-minute walk. The Accommodation is compact but clean and well organized, and I had a very comfortable stay.

I took a solo trip to see the weeping plum blossoms in Fushimi and at Jonangu Shrine. I also wanted to stay at a book Hotel, so I chose this Hotel without hesitation. The two female staff members were friendly and easy to talk to, and they listened to me the whole time while I enjoyed whiskey at the bar. There are many books focused on Kyoto—irresistible for book lovers and Kyoto fans. After that, I enjoyed the short movie time, and the Room was comfortable, making it a wonderful trip. When I go to Kyoto, I will definitely stay at this Hotel again. Thank you very much.
