Everything was excellent, from the service to the Facility meals. The beach is about a 5-minute walk away. The Room was clean. The Onsen was also great. I would like to stay again next year.

Thank you for your hospitality the other day. When I told you I can’t eat raw fish, thank you for preparing alternative dishes. The food looked great and tasted wonderful, and we also enjoyed the complimentary extra dish. The bath warmed me up so well that I stayed warm for a long time afterward. The detox water after the bath was also delicious. It was great to be offered a draft beer as a welcome drink at check-in—it was the perfect refreshing drink after a long drive. I would love to stay with you again.

I came all the way from Hokkaido because I wanted to try Yobuko’s live squid. It turned out to be an excellent Hotel. Not only was the live squid cuisine outstanding, but the Room with its beautiful, expansive window overlooking the sea was also amazing. Next time, I’d love to visit again on a clear day. The thoughtfully prepared cuisine was astonishingly delicious, and my wife and I enjoyed a lovely trip that left us genuinely satisfied. Each time we encountered your warm smiles and refined service, we felt deeply happy, thinking, “We’re so glad we stayed here.” I was truly moved—this is indeed a “happiness-producing Hotel” that brings smiles to guest after guest. What makes your Hotel so outstanding is your challenging spirit: never resting on what you already have, but always striving to create new moments of inspiration. As a devoted fan of Toba Grand Hotel—and as “Captain Donguri”—please allow me to share a few ideas with affection: 1) Extend lounge hours (until 11:00 p.m.) Spending time in that sophisticated lounge atmosphere is exceptional. If guests could enjoy complimentary drinks until 11:00 p.m., the evening would become an even more special memory. 2) Revitalize the retro game arcade & festival-style corner If an energetic “festival corner” were added to that nostalgic, welcoming arcade area, it would surely become a signature spot where adults and children alike can have fun across generations. 3) Seasonal limited-time “all-you-can-eat fruit” buffet feature For example, “all-you-can-eat strawberries” in early spring or “all-you-can-eat melon” in summer—having seasonal highlight events at the buffet would help attract repeat guests year-round and generate even more buzz. Of course, I fully understand that the working environment for your staff and operational considerations must come first. With that in mind, I would be grateful if you could keep these ideas in mind simply as one fan’s dream of what would be wonderful if it could be realized. With Toba Grand Hotel’s potential—and the passion of your staff—I truly believe you will continue to be the overwhelming No. 1 Hotel in the region without question. From here on as well, let us guests join hands with the General Manager and all staff to make this wonderful Hotel shine even brighter together.

All the staff were very kind and attentive, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. The views from the Room and throughout the Hotel were wonderful, and we enjoyed a lovely time along with delicious meals. This is a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again when visiting Toba.

Because it was a three-day weekend right at the start of summer vacation, it ended up a little over our original budget—but we wanted to stay here so badly that we made the Reservation anyway. And once we actually stayed… it was worth every yen—no, even more than that. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location was even better than expected: right in front of us were white sand and a blue sea. There were quite a few families and international guests, but at night it was very quiet. You can head straight to the beach from the Hotel, and everything was thoughtfully prepared—dedicated beach sandals, a washing machine, towels, and more. I also really appreciated that when you take off your slippers there, you can place them neatly into a shoe box labeled with your Room name—something I found especially reassuring as someone who’s a bit particular about cleanliness. The Room was truly spacious, spotless, and very functional. Everything felt refined from corner to corner—the washbasin, furnishings, wall colors, decorations—all beautifully coordinated and calming. A small detail, but the loungewear fabric was very soft and had buttons so it stayed in place comfortably. The semi-open-air bath in the guest room had excellent water quality and temperature. Being able to soak slowly while looking out at the ocean—with no insects flying around—was pure bliss. We enjoyed our in-room meals while chatting pleasantly with our attendant; everything was delicious. The simmered whole kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) was especially impressive—large and full of flavor—truly “this is Izu!” That said, personally I would have preferred beef as steak (even a small portion) rather than chilled shabu-shabu wrapped with vegetables. If many guests are older adults, it would be great if there were an option available even with an additional charge. Breakfast included many dishes as well—I ended up eating quite a lot first thing in the morning! Overall this Accommodation deserves high marks across the board; if I had to be strictly critical, dinner alone could have felt slightly more luxurious or surprising—something that makes you think “This is exceptional—I’ve never tasted anything like it.” Even so, it was such a wonderful Accommodation that I absolutely want to return again next year. Thank you very much.

I wanted to let my grandchildren swim in the ocean for the first time, so after looking around, we chose this Hotel. The sea was very beautiful, and there was also a pool, which was great! There was an indoor play area as well, and my grandchildren seemed very satisfied. We had buffet meals for two days, and the dishes varied a little each day, so we never got bored and enjoyed everything. The only disappointment about the bath was that there was no open-air bath, and the water was quite hot, so we couldn’t relax for long. We were a large group and may have been noisy, but all of the staff were very kind and treated us warmly—thank you so much. We had a wonderful and comfortable stay, and both adults and children were very satisfied.

Right by the sea with an amazing view! We were just as impressed by the wonderful hospitality of all the staff. The meals were also very satisfying, with seasonal vegetables and fresh meat and fish. We spend our days surrounded by air conditioning, so it was refreshing to enjoy the natural, pleasant breeze. Our family is already talking about coming back again next year. Thank you very much.

The building is spread out horizontally, so depending on where your Room is located, it can be quite a walk to the restaurant, baths, and lobby. Other than that, there were no particular issues or complaints. It was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Although the large public bath is not an Onsen, it offers three different water temperatures (high/medium/low) and water types, plus a carbonated bath. Other guests also mentioned that it might be more effective than some Onsen. The restaurant (buffet-style) had a wide variety of dishes, and the staff were excellent—one thoughtful touch was that they even informed us that ice cream could be taken back to our Room. I believe drinks inside the facility were reasonably priced as well—for example, a 350 ml can of beer was 350 yen. The souvenir shop opens from 7:30 a.m. It has a great selection, and you can probably find most things you need there.

This was our family’s first trip to Kushimoto. We made a Reservation for an ocean-view Room on a high floor, and we were lucky to have great weather—we even got to see a beautiful sunrise! The Room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and everything felt clean. The yukata fabric was sturdy and not see-through, and it had no odor at all (the highest compliment). I’m sensitive to smells—both unpleasant odors and strong detergent fragrances—so regardless of the Hotel’s grade I usually assume I won’t be able to use them, but this time I used the yukata a lot! Even though we chose an affordable Plan, dinner on the second night and breakfast on the third day were included as well, and we were surprised by the wide variety of dishes. Instead of bottled water in the Room, there was a water dispenser in the elevator hall (with hot water too), which we really appreciated. The bath area and changing room were also spacious, so we could truly relax. Bathing hours started early in the morning and ran late into the night, which gave us plenty of flexibility. We could adjust the air conditioning exactly as we liked—another reason it was such a comfortable stay. The staff members we passed in the hallways greeted us naturally, creating a refreshing atmosphere throughout. If I had to mention one thing: when using the Room slippers, I hesitated slightly wondering if they had been sanitized. At other Mercure properties I’ve stayed at before, this never crossed my mind. Overall, we were extremely satisfied! Thank you very much!

This was my third stay. I stayed in the same Room with a kitchen as last time. The Room had been renovated and was very clean. In the evening, we could see Mt. Fuji from the Room, which made my mother very happy. For dinner, instead of ordering the boat sashimi platter we had last time, we took out sushi and ate it in the Room. Dinner is served in your Room here, so you can relax without worrying about others. I wanted to take it easy in the morning, so I chose no breakfast. If you want a hearty breakfast, I recommend booking a plan with breakfast included.\nThe beach was quiet since it was before Obon. There were lifeguards on duty as well, so it felt safe. Unfortunately, perhaps because it was after 3:00 PM on the day we went, the beach huts were closed. It rained the next day, so we gave up on going to the beach—but students from some school were swimming even in the rain.\nI’d love to come back to Iwai for another beach trip next year too.

This was my second stay. The food already has an excellent reputation, and everything I tried was truly delicious—especially the desserts. I’ve had many buffet-style meals before, and this is my No. 1. The financiers served in the lounge as a late-night snack were also very tasty. The baths go without saying. I also appreciated that the service wasn’t overbearing. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Overall, I was satisfied.\n\nThe only thing that concerned me was that, although my check-in wasn’t particularly late, the futons had already been laid out in the Room.\nIn the hot summer season—especially in Shimanto, where you may have been playing in the river or at the sea (or even if not)—you’re likely to be sweaty. It was a bit disappointing having to be careful not to step on the futons no matter what I did. Of course, if check-in is late, I understand it makes sense for efficiency for the staff who prepare them. Since dinner time is specifically confirmed at check-in, I would have preferred if they could lay them out while we were having dinner.\n\nThe meals, the Onsen, and the Room were all relaxing and very enjoyable.

We stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room.\nIt was me, my daughter and her husband, and my grandchild (1 year and 2 months old). The Room was spacious, so we could relax comfortably.\nUnfortunately it rained that day, so there was no stargazing at Tenmonkan,\nbut we were able to enjoy Aqua Palace and Tomoyama-no-Yu for two days.\nIt was my grandchild’s first time in a pool, but photography was not allowed, so we couldn’t take any pictures,\nwhich was a bit disappointing.\nAlso, if it hadn’t been raining, we would have liked to take a walk around the Hotel.\nBy the way, we saw a wild boar from our Room in the evening.

I stay here every year (sometimes twice) whenever I visit Wakkanai. Having a coin laundry, microwave, and ice machine on site is very helpful. Especially in summer, I often stay in Hokkaido for about two weeks, so the coin laundry is a big plus (some city hotels don’t have one). I didn’t use it this time, but room service is also convenient. I visited in autumn before and there was a day with a severe snowstorm, so I used room service then. I was satisfied with the meal at Annon (this time, the Soya Beef set meal) as well as the breakfast buffet. I’m looking forward to the Onsen.

We stayed here as a couple to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The Onsen was wonderful. Thank you for the complimentary champagne service at dinner.

My spouse and I stayed for two nights from July 21. With a spacious Japanese-style room, a clean large public bath, and a delicious breakfast, it was an excellent Accommodation. We were worried when the entire city of Nemuro experienced a water outage starting that afternoon after we checked out, but we’re relieved it was restored quickly. We would like to stay here again when we visit Nemuro.

We stayed for two nights from 8/13 in a special Room with a private pool. We have stayed at nearly 10 Hotels across Okinawa (the main island, Miyako, and Ishigaki), and this was the best by far. Our children also said it was their No. 1. The Room itself was wonderful, and the cleanliness and quality of the meals were excellent as well. There was a small spot of dirt in the pool (something most people wouldn’t even notice), but our eldest daughter, who is very particular about cleanliness, became concerned. When we decided to contact the front desk, the General Manager personally came to take care of the cleaning, which made us feel sorry for troubling you. Thank you very much again for your kindness. We expect our next visit will be sometime next year or later, but we look forward to staying with you again.

We stay here every year during the Obon holiday season. It’s a wonderful Ryokan. The meals are buffet-style, but the quality is high and everything is very delicious. I love the black soybean tea after the bath—it’s so tasty. I’d like to stay again next year.

The exterior may look a bit old, but the inside is a lovely Hotel. You can see the ocean from your Room, and the view is wonderful—opening the curtains in the morning feels great. The price is affordable, and you can also rent bicycles. It was an excellent Hotel, and I would like to stay again.
