This was my first solo trip, and I stayed here for the first time. I was very satisfied, as I was able to spend a quiet, extraordinary time just as the Accommodation’s concept promises. The food was delicious and plentiful, and best of all it was brought to my Room so I could relax and enjoy my meal there. The season I stayed was summer, but even in the open-air bath I didn’t see any insects at all, and I could enjoy it comfortably again and again. Perhaps you had taken insect-prevention measures? Thank you for such a relaxing stay. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

We chose the assigned Room, and it was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous, offering us drinks and even taking photos for us after checkout, which made us feel truly welcomed. As part of the Accommodation was under renovation, they apologized for any inconvenience and even gave us some sweets. We would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed with my son’s family—six of us in two Rooms. There was a free shaved-ice service in the arrival lobby, which delighted the kids. The Room was spacious and comfortable. The only drawback was that we couldn’t adjust the air-conditioning temperature very well, but everything else was fine. The large Onsen public bath was also spacious, and we were able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. It may have been a circulated bath, as there was a slight chlorine smell, but there was also a sauna and we had a pleasant stay. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style for the first time in a while. Dinner offered all-you-can-eat sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki, steak, and more; breakfast was also very tasty, including local ingredients. I think this is a great Ryokan where three generations can enjoy themselves and everyone can be satisfied.

We stayed here as a couple.\n\nWe had been interested in this Accommodation for some time, and after actually staying, it exceeded our expectations. Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. We also enjoyed the private open-air bath together without any worries, which became a wonderful memory.\n\nBoth dinner and breakfast featured carefully prepared dishes that made the most of local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied with both the taste and portion sizes. Everything at both meals was delicious, and we were impressed to enjoy freshly made dishes served piping hot.\n\nThe staff’s hospitality was warm, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout our stay, making it very comfortable. The Room was clean and had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to slowly unwind from everyday fatigue.\n\nThe Onsen, cuisine, and hospitality were all excellent—we were satisfied in every way. The Onsen was even smoother and more moisturizing than I imagined. The meals were great—beautifully presented and delicious! There was almost too much food. We stayed here as three generations, traveling with my parents-in-law. Before our stay, I contacted the Accommodation twice to ask whether our Rooms could be on the same floor, whether we could dine in the same venue, and about meals for the children. Both times, the staff responded courteously, which made us feel at ease on the day of arrival. As this is a long-established Ryokan, the building is not new, but it has a calm atmosphere that suited my parents-in-law perfectly. Some wallpaper in parts of the Room was peeling, and perhaps due to a special type of wallpaper there was some fuzz that seemed to float around, but overall the Room was relatively clean. The meals were kaiseki-style and just the right amount; our family enjoyed them very much. The staff also explained each dish carefully, making it a truly pleasant dining experience. There was also an excellent selection of alcoholic drinks. When traveling with children we often end up choosing buffet-style dining elsewhere, so it was a great experience for them to enjoy kaiseki cuisine as well. In the lounge, perhaps because it is open to non-staying guests too, all seats were taken at first; once seats became available they called our Room via internal phone so we could use it. We were able to spend relaxing time together as a family. As for the Onsen, there is nothing to complain about—the water quality was wonderful and the large public bath was clean. Overall, I felt that the high level of hospitality from all staff members is what drives guest satisfaction here. The Facility itself may not stand out compared with other Ryokan in every respect, but their hospitality more than makes up for it. Thank you very much.

My daughter and I stayed for two nights. All the front desk staff were very friendly, and we had a comfortable stay. The location is great, and they also offer welcome drinks and laundry facilities (free of charge), so the value for money is excellent. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Hakodate.

It was a wonderful Room with lovely interior design where you can relax in nature and enjoy the slow passage of time. It also has a small kitchen, and since you can buy vegetables and meat at the on-site market, it seemed possible to cook for yourself in the Room. It’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again.

We were very satisfied to stay in a lovely Room at this price and enjoy a luxurious dinner (assorted sashimi, sukiyaki, etc.). It would be perfect if there were an elevator. The view was wonderful, and we were told you can also see a beautiful sunset on a clear day. We were also impressed by the warm, efficient staff who never made us feel the Accommodation was aging. The large public bath with a great view was comfortable, and the front lobby had some items slightly cheaper than the souvenir shop, so we got good deals. Choosing the Deluxe Twin Room was absolutely the right decision. If we stay on Shodoshima again, this is our only choice.

Just as shown in the photos on IKYU, the Accommodation is surrounded by nature, and the location overlooking the Kofu Basin is truly spectacular. The Room is compact, but its tent-like design makes it fun. The bath isn’t an Onsen, but the night view from the open-air bath was stunning and more than satisfying. Before dinner, we relaxed by swaying in a hammock on the terrace and taking our time by the campfire. Dining while watching the scenery gradually shift from dusk to a sparkling night view felt wonderfully luxurious, and the food was delicious. From the Room facilities and amenities to even small details like tableware and cutlery, everything showed careful attention, and overall it felt very tasteful. In the morning I woke up before dawn and spent time watching the Kofu Basin slowly brighten while looking out at Mt. Fuji. Having coffee by the campfire was a truly memorable experience—one I’m sure I’ll remember for a long time. I highly recommend this Accommodation, though breakfast is self-prepared, so that point may come down to personal preference.

Because they cannot accommodate a large number of guests, they provided attentive service to each party. There were also guests who came just for meals, so they were busy, but it never felt hectic—truly a wonderful Accommodation. Every dish was delicious, but the portions were more than someone in their 50s could finish, so we left some. It’s best to arrive hungry.

The sashimi boat platter at dinner was stunning and tasted amazing. Our whole family loved it, and we really enjoyed our drinks. Of course, the other dishes were delicious as well. Breakfast was a buffet, and the sashimi was excellent too. The sauna was very clean and relaxing. It opens from 4:00 a.m., so we could refresh with an early-morning sauna. We’d definitely love to come again.

I chose this property based on a Review saying it was convenient for visiting the public baths. At the end of August, after the summer holidays when things were a bit quieter, they upgraded us from a standard Room to a Room with an open-air bath. I used the open-air bath twice, morning and night. It was quiet, and the breeze felt wonderful. The food was very delicious, but the main dish—seared Tajima beef—was a little tough and I couldn’t bite through it in one go, which was slightly disappointing. When I said I was full and couldn’t finish dessert, a staff member wrapped it and put it in the refrigerator for me. I enjoyed it later after my bath before bed. They also kindly explained things like tips for visiting the public baths and even sprayed deodorizer since in-room dining can leave lingering smells—everyone was very pleasant and attentive. The entire building is covered with tatami mats (even inside the elevator), and walking around barefoot felt great. The bath is small, but it was very clean, and there is also an open-air bath, so we enjoyed it 충분に. I would like to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you to all the staff we met for such a comfortable time.

Everything is clean throughout.\nThe indoor open-air bath is very convenient and comfortable.\nThe meals are excellent in both quality and quantity. The service is also very polite, with no issues.\nWe stayed with children, and it was a great help that they proactively offered to provide a baby crib and bouncer.\nI’m glad we found such a wonderful Accommodation for the first time in a while.

It was a wonderful Hotel where we could truly enjoy Lake Biwa. The Room offered a panoramic view of Lake Biwa and felt incredibly open and airy. The interior also had a luxurious touch, and we genuinely enjoyed simply spending time in the Room. All of the staff provided excellent service, proactively checking in with us, so we never had any trouble during our stay. The Onsen was especially memorable. The water quality was excellent, and the view of Lake Biwa from the open-air bath was exceptional. On the day we stayed, a crescent moon reflected on the lake’s surface, creating an enchanting scene. The amenities were also high quality. We were very satisfied with the all-inclusive lounge as well. With its high ceilings and spacious atmosphere, enjoying drinks freely while looking out over Lake Biwa was truly fantastic. Dinner featured an outstanding full-course Omi beef meal—so much so that it felt like great value for what you get. There was also a wide selection of drinks, and we were especially happy to see many local sake options available. They paired perfectly with the fresh ingredients. Breakfast was a buffet featuring locally sourced ingredients with plenty of variety. The restaurant had ample seating, so we could dine comfortably without waiting while enjoying views of Lake Biwa. If I had one request, it would be helpful to have a Plan without dinner as an option—this would make it easier for guests on a Multiple Night Stay to enjoy dining out for one evening. For that reason, we changed our stay from two nights to one night this time; however, after actually staying here, it was such an excellent Hotel that we regretted not booking a Multiple Night Stay. Next time, we would definitely like to stay for multiple nights.

From the welcome on arrival to checkout, the staff are consistently pleasant, and the proprietress’s attentive hospitality is impressive every time. The Ryokan is impeccably clean, and everything is well cared for throughout. The cuisine shows a clear commitment to quality ingredients—beautifully presented and delicious. It’s not just a place that serves many dishes; it delivers the satisfaction of dining at a proper kappo restaurant. After staying at other Accommodations in the same price range, you truly realize how outstanding this Ryokan is. Once you stay here, you’ll want to come back. It’s a bit far, but more than worth it—an exceptional Ryokan.

From the welcome pineapple cider, beer, and simmered yam konnyaku to a feast of Yamagata specialties, we were completely full! Dinner was served in beautiful dishes that made everything even more appetizing. The post-bath lounge had a wonderful atmosphere, the massage chairs were very comfortable, and we really appreciated the complimentary drinks and snacks. Of course, the baths were spacious and very relaxing! In the morning, the breakfast ramen was delicious. I chose rice porridge instead, and with so many side dishes I was very satisfied. The watermelon was sweet and tasty too.

We stayed with my parents as a family. We traveled with a school-aged child and an infant, and the in-Room bath made our stay very comfortable. We truly appreciate your thoughtful consideration for our children during meals. The garden view and the river view from the open-air bath were so relaxing. My parents were very happy, and it gave us a wonderful chance to show our appreciation. Thank you very much.

Time passed at a relaxed pace, and I truly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. The view from the window was absolutely beautiful. The grouper course was very generous in portion size, and every dish tasted exceptional. The warm hospitality also made me feel comfortable. My family said they would love to come again.
