We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. I stayed here with my husband and our dog. The owner is a true dog lover, and our dog was able to relax and feel at ease. The Accommodation was very clean, thoroughly well maintained down to every corner, which made our stay very comfortable. And most of all, the bath was a wonderful surprise! The open-air bath was fantastic. Since we were the only guests this time, we could enjoy it at our preferred times and soak in peace—it felt like a real luxury. Dinner was Italian cuisine: appetizers, two pasta dishes, Nasu beef, and dessert. Everything was truly delicious. For breakfast we could choose between pizza muffins and French toast, but we wanted both so we ordered both and shared. The French toast in particular was outstanding! We had a relaxing and enjoyable time with our dog, making it a very satisfying one-night trip. We would love to visit again.

We truly felt your wonderful service and hospitality throughout our stay. The location, the meals, the baths, and all of the staff were genuinely excellent. You even prepared kaiseki cuisine for our 9-year-old son and accommodated a change to our breakfast time. Both the dinner kaiseki and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and it was clear how much care and effort went into them.

We visited this Accommodation for the first time in March after it received the strongest “Absolutely!” recommendation among several options, and it was the first time in a while that we felt completely satisfied in every respect. From the courteous and accurate communication during the Reservation process, to the atmosphere, use of space, staff professionalism, and cuisine—everything met our expectations. With an Accommodation of this caliber, I wasn’t particularly worried about the food, and I had already seen photos of the interior on the website so I assumed there would be no surprises. In the end, however, what matters most is “people.” With group stays, requests often cause inconvenience and there are usually one or two small oversights on the day—but here everything was perfect. This time we came as individuals. We returned both to confirm our impressions and to be moved all over again. The entrance—still fresh in my memory as a favorite—is spacious and quiet. It harmoniously blends cutting-edge design with traditional charm despite being complete opposites. Personally, it may be my favorite part. Our Room this time was more compact than last time but more than sufficient for one night. The open-air bath is also spacious and easy to use even though it has privacy screening. The private dining room felt almost too large for just two people. The timing of each course and the staff’s warm smiles made for a truly comfortable—and delicious—meal. Overall, what stayed with me is how rare this Facility is: an excellent balance of new and old, genuine warmth from people, and employees who approach their work with sincerity—all coming together in perfect harmony. Newer Accommodations with a full resort feel are wonderful in their own way as well; however, as an Onsen Accommodation, this is a place I can confidently recommend as a distinctly Japanese stay where timeless tradition is beautifully integrated. We had seen a Review saying the pool temperature was low, and since it was a chilly day we were worried, but it was comfortably warm. The first-floor flooring is also not slippery, so I think it’s dog-friendly. If possible, it would have been even better if the second-floor flooring were made of similarly non-slip materials. The quality of the free-flowing Onsen water was great as well, and it was a wonderful Accommodation that makes not only dogs but also people want to come back.

I stayed here last year and was very satisfied, so I chose this Hotel again this year. Above all, the highlight is the wide variety of food. Everything was delicious, and I ended up going back for seconds many times. The pork shabu-shabu served in a small hot pot was especially outstanding, and I loved that you can shabu-shabu not only pork but also seafood. With several broth options to choose from, I could enjoy it exactly the way I like. In addition, there were sushi and sashimi, Tokushima ramen, freshly fried tempura, and a great selection of other dishes such as crispy lotus root and sweet potato chips—so much variety that I enjoyed every bite without getting bored until the very end. At the large public bath, bath towels and face towels were provided in the lobby area, so it was very comfortable to be able to use fresh towels each time. There was also complimentary ice cream after bathing, which felt like a thoughtful touch. The night view from my Room was also wonderful—the sparkling city lights were truly beautiful and made for an unforgettable moment. I was completely satisfied with everything—food, baths, service, and views—and it’s a fantastic Hotel that makes me want to come back again.

We stayed here for our second night. We were blessed with great weather—it was perfect. Since we arrived early, we visited Otaki Falls nearby, but the valley was deep and the elevation changes were intense, leaving us completely exhausted. (There were some fallen trees and rockfalls, so we had to take a detour.) This is a wonderful auberge, just as reputed. That day it was only our group, so we fully enjoyed the private bath, and the Room was lovely—we could relax and truly enjoy a cool summer getaway. Every dish was delicious, and the wine at dinner was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the peach dessert. The owners’ warm hospitality was exceptional—this has become an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again.

We stayed for two nights with three generations, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied—not only with the magnificent views from the lobby and our Room, but also with the wonderful hospitality and delicious meals. The staff’s attentive, warm service and smiles were especially memorable, and we felt a gentle, clear, pleasant atmosphere throughout the Hotel. Shizuoka has many sightseeing spots, including a history museum that children can enjoy and Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo (this zoo has many thoughtful touches and is truly recommended), so every generation can have a great time. After check-out, we also went to Shimizu Port to enjoy dining and shopping. We visited several attractions including Toshogu Shrine, but there was so much to see that next time we would like to stay at this Hotel again and take more time to fully enjoy both the places we visited this time as well. Despite the economical rate, the bathtub had a built-in step that could be used as a seat, and there was also a separate washing area, which was excellent. The Facility and service were on par with those of a top-class Hotel costing about twice as much. I was able to relax very comfortably. The hospitality was wonderful, and the trip was truly enjoyable.

My spouse and I stay here every year, but this year we invited my elderly mother and came as three. The spacious Room on the 6th floor was our first time, and the view was wonderful and stylish. My mother loved it, and I am truly grateful that we were able to make a meaningful trip for her.

My first time at Zao Onsen. I love sulfur springs, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. It was lightly raining, but they had a hat-like cover (like what Jizo statues wear) available so my head wouldn’t get wet. Thanks to that, I was able to relax in the open-air bath as well.\nThe meals were also excellent—Yamagata beef and all the other dishes were delicious. The rice was Tsuyahime, making for a high-quality dinner with local ingredients.\nThanks to the staff’s warm smiles and attentive service, I had a wonderful time.

We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well. This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient. The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind. The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great. Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding. At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance. The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out. I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday. The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one. Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. Thank you again for another wonderful stay.

The Japanese dinner was very delicious. Breakfast was just right. If I had to be picky, it would have been even better if rice porridge had been an option for breakfast. That said, the staff were professional and made our stay very comfortable. The Room was clean and tidy, and having a massage chair was a nice touch. The bathroom in the Room also had a drying function, which was very helpful. There were also a large public bath, a sauna, and private family baths. The large public bath is available even late at night, which worked well for us—we could bathe after sobering up around midnight. We would like to stay again.

First of all, the Hotel staff were absolutely outstanding! At mealtimes, we could dine while listening to the hostess sing, and her calm, soothing voice was truly relaxing. The food was also delicious—local specialties were incorporated beautifully, and we enjoyed every course without ever getting tired of it. And the open-air bath with a sky-high view was incredible! The scenery was breathtaking, and both body and mind were able to unwind completely. I’m truly glad I found a Hotel that made me want to come back. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

The breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding and truly exciting. I was especially amazed by the wide variety of breads at breakfast. Everything was delicious, but I regret that I couldn’t try them all. We also enjoyed drinks and sweets in the lovely lounge, and the staff’s attentive service made our stay very comfortable. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every meal was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room, which we were very satisfied with! They even prepared a celebratory plate during dinner—it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We would love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

A quiet, relaxing Hotel with just 10 Rooms. The Rooms are spacious, and the staff are wonderful. Of course, the Japanese-Western fusion cuisine is truly satisfying—you can taste the quality of the ingredients. Location: Very convenient and close to Hakodate’s highlights (Ropeway [Mt. Hakodate] to historic buildings [Motomachi] to the Bay Area, etc.). *Some guests may notice minor details, but for us (an elderly couple), it was a very satisfying stay. *Thank you very much.

We stayed for two nights with our two Pomeranians and my father, and had a very comfortable time at this dog-first Accommodation. The staff, the Room, the meals, and the bath were all excellent. Since it was hot, we really appreciated being able to borrow a free cooling neck wrap for our dogs. The portions were generous, and I’m sorry we couldn’t finish everything. We would love to stay again.

Despite making a last-minute Reservation the day before, we received heartfelt hospitality and thoughtful attention, and were able to relax and truly unwind. Not only were the Room and meals wonderful, but the Onsen was exceptional as well, helping us forget our everyday fatigue and feel refreshed in both body and mind. Throughout our stay, we could feel the Ryokan team’s spirit of hospitality in every detail, which made us very happy. Thanks to you, it became a memorable and wonderful trip. We would love to visit again in a different season and see everyone again. We look forward to staying with you then.
