The Onsen facilities, meals, and service were all excellent. Since we stayed on a hot day, I was worried the Onsen spa might feel too warm, but because it was up in the mountains, the breeze was cool and it was comfortable. The meal was delicious French cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. All the staff were friendly and helpful in many ways. We stayed for my mother’s birthday, and she was very happy. It’s a Hotel I’d love to stay at again if I have the chance!

I made a Reservation because the riverside location seemed convenient for sightseeing. I chose the smallest Room, and it was fun in its own way. However, I hadn’t checked that the bed was a single, and since I move around a lot in my sleep, that was the only disappointment. The bath didn’t have many different types of water, but it had a nice atmosphere and I enjoyed it. What disappointed me was the pace of the meal service. I wanted to take my time, but it was too fast and we left after 40 minutes. Also, perhaps because they were not Japanese staff, there were a few moments when the explanations were unclear. That said, all of the staff were very pleasant and kind. I’d like to stay again during the winter illuminations. Thank you very much.

This was our first stay here, and among all the places we’ve visited, it was the best Accommodation for Western-style cuisine. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality from welcome to farewell. The Room (very relaxing) and the bath (the in-room bath was more than enough) were both excellent. Above all, the meals were outstanding—both dinner and breakfast. Each dish was beautifully presented (including the tableware) and delicious, and we were amazed by how many items there were in the Japanese breakfast (we finished everything). We will definitely visit again during the autumn foliage season. One request: it would be nice to have body wash towels available in the bath area.

This was the Accommodation I had wanted to stay at on my first trip to Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Accommodation was very clean and quiet, and I was able to relax in a calm atmosphere. The Room was spacious, and the view of the reflecting pool from the terrace was beautiful. The open-air bath in the Room had free-flowing natural hot spring water, which felt wonderful. At the bar lounge, I enjoyed complimentary drinks while chatting with the staff and had a great time. I highly recommend this Accommodation for anyone looking to spend a relaxing stay for a special anniversary or simply to unwind and forget about everyday life.

Many of the staff are locals and have extensive knowledge about nearby facilities and the ingredients used in the cuisine, and they shared a lot with us. Of course, the Onsen was also wonderful, with fresh-flowing water. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

I was worried about the area around the station because of the heavy rain, but it was close to the bus stop and I arrived safely. Seeing the front desk staff made me feel relieved. As expected, the stone spa was very relaxing. I had been standing all day at work, but I felt better as if by magic—I’d like to stay again. Breakfast was delicious, and the menu selection was great. It felt like a mother serving home-cooked food to a child who has come back home after a long time, asking, “Are you eating your vegetables properly?” The rice was so good I wanted seconds. It’s a Hotel that made me want to stay again!

I stayed at this Accommodation as a well-deserved solo getaway to escape the daily routine of housework and childcare. It was my first time trying an order-style buffet, and it brought me far more happiness than I ever imagined. Since I usually focus on my child’s meals and put my own last, I think it was a bit of a rebound—I happily kept eating for about 2.5 hours, refilling my favorite appetizers whenever I wanted, and going back for dessert again and again… It was an experience you simply can’t have with a set course meal. As an adult, you really do “taste with your eyes” too: having dishes beautifully plated right in front of me at the counter with perfectly matched herbs gave me a different kind of satisfaction from an ordinary buffet. Even though I thought I might feel overly full, there were plenty of vegetables as well, so by the next morning I had a good appetite again—and went back for seconds once more. The soup was especially delicious! Because the Accommodation clearly puts so much effort into the dining experience, other aspects of service felt fairly simple by comparison. The bath facilities were great: high-quality Onsen water and a spacious public bath, plus an open-air bath in the public area that I really enjoyed. Personally, the Onsen felt good enough that I didn’t feel strongly about needing a private open-air bath. One thing: since there is also a sauna in the public bath area, I would have loved to have a water dispenser near the changing room. As this is an all-inclusive Accommodation, I hope to see that added in the future. I’d also like to visit other properties in the Ichinobo Group someday. Thank you very much.

We stayed here with our family again after a long time, and we felt the service had improved even more. All the staff were very courteous, and we were truly happy that they remembered our previous stay. The meals were excellent—not only dinner, but especially breakfast, which offered an impressive variety and was delicious. We were also surprised to see the owner personally serving guests at breakfast. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again. Highly recommended!!

While browsing Reviews for an Accommodation where we could stay with our pet, natural Onsen, and dining options, we found Takakatsu and decided to stay there. The hospitality, guest room, water quality, cuisine, and the Onsen town—all were more than satisfying. However, while the amount of food was sufficient for us as a couple, it might feel a bit small for younger guests. We will be back again.

We visited this Accommodation for the first time in March after it received the strongest “Absolutely!” recommendation among several options, and it was the first time in a while that we felt completely satisfied in every respect. From the courteous and accurate communication during the Reservation process, to the atmosphere, use of space, staff professionalism, and cuisine—everything met our expectations. With an Accommodation of this caliber, I wasn’t particularly worried about the food, and I had already seen photos of the interior on the website so I assumed there would be no surprises. In the end, however, what matters most is “people.” With group stays, requests often cause inconvenience and there are usually one or two small oversights on the day—but here everything was perfect. This time we came as individuals. We returned both to confirm our impressions and to be moved all over again. The entrance—still fresh in my memory as a favorite—is spacious and quiet. It harmoniously blends cutting-edge design with traditional charm despite being complete opposites. Personally, it may be my favorite part. Our Room this time was more compact than last time but more than sufficient for one night. The open-air bath is also spacious and easy to use even though it has privacy screening. The private dining room felt almost too large for just two people. The timing of each course and the staff’s warm smiles made for a truly comfortable—and delicious—meal. Overall, what stayed with me is how rare this Facility is: an excellent balance of new and old, genuine warmth from people, and employees who approach their work with sincerity—all coming together in perfect harmony. Newer Accommodations with a full resort feel are wonderful in their own way as well; however, as an Onsen Accommodation, this is a place I can confidently recommend as a distinctly Japanese stay where timeless tradition is beautifully integrated. I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. I will definitely return.

We stayed here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The property was very clean, and there were so many thoughtful touches to enjoy—like the complimentary drinks corner, a small selection of toys, plenty of large public baths, and even handheld fireworks—that we couldn’t experience everything in just one day! Above all, the staff’s attentiveness was outstanding. They helped serve the birthday cake and presents, provided candles and a brazier for the fireworks, and adjusted the lighting to create a lovely atmosphere—we truly felt their care. My partner was very happy as well. We’d love to stay again!

Remembering how delicious the food was when I previously visited with my daughter, my spouse and I returned this time. We arrived by car a little before 3:00 p.m., but many staff members greeted us with warm smiles, which was very reassuring. All of the staff were wonderful, and both the Facility and our Room were clean and comfortable. Dining in the stillness, with only the sound of evening cicadas in the background, each dish was thoughtfully crafted and looked as beautiful as it tasted. We were also delighted by an extra chef’s special that wasn’t on the menu—it felt truly heartfelt. As a history enthusiast, I signed up for the “Mystery-Solving Adventure: Discover History and Stories.” I didn’t feel much of a historical element, but solving puzzles while enjoying our meal was more than enjoyable. Even though we stayed at a great value using IKYU Earn Points, we were also given prizes, which made us feel almost undeserving. This is an Accommodation I would definitely recommend to others. I’d love to visit again in another season. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

I wasn’t sure where to go in Hokkaido this time, but I decided on “Yoroushi” because I’d wanted to visit for over 30 years! Just as the Reviews said, everything was wonderful—the Room, the Onsen, and the meals. For the past few years, every time I come to Hokkaido I’ve felt that Japan’s hospitality industry is being supported by an aging workforce and by staff from overseas. I’d give it all 5s, and everyone served us with a smile and worked very hard, which was truly appreciated. That said, personally I think it would have been fine without a welcome greeting or being shown to our Room. I can talk about meals or work-related matters, but being able to have natural conversation is also a priority for me, so it was somewhat disappointing not to have that. This is not meant as criticism of foreign staff. Their Japanese was good and their service was genuinely excellent. Still, speaking honestly as someone visiting an Onsen, I felt a sense of loneliness that’s different from how things used to be.

The Room, the meals, and the staff—everything was simply wonderful. The open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water was amazing. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast while looking out at the ocean from our Room was lovely. Since it’s all-inclusive, we were able to relax in our Room and take it easy while ordering room service. Above all, we were most impressed by the attentive service from the staff. We would definitely love to visit again.

We were truly satisfied with both the meals and the Room! We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and the Onsen was incredibly relaxing. It was wonderful to be able to soak anytime without worrying about the time! The staff member who served our meals was very kind, and even in the morning, he shared helpful information before we headed out. He also saw us off until the very end, and we are sincerely grateful. It made for a truly wonderful trip. This is our No. 1 Accommodation we want to stay at again.

The front desk staff were wonderful! Even though we checked in after midnight, they kindly accommodated us. We stayed here the night before heading to Kusatsu Onsen. This time, our family used the Special Room. As soon as we entered the Room, it was incredibly spacious!!! The bathroom in particular was huge and amazing!! There were plenty of amenities, which was really helpful—and when we opened the refrigerator, there were complimentary drinks!! There were also cup udon noodles on the table for each of us!! The service was excellent and we were very satisfied! For this price, the Room size and service are more than enough. A truly satisfying Hotel!! We would love to stay again.

Although this is a historic Onsen Ryokan, the property is impeccably maintained throughout, and we felt thoughtful attention to detail and quality in every corner. Our family of four enjoyed a truly wonderful stay with dinner and breakfast included. Above all, the Room was fantastic! It was very spacious, with plenty of room for each of us to relax comfortably, while also being perfect for gathering together as a family to chat and enjoy tea and sweets. The in-room beverages were also well stocked—the coffee and tea were excellent—and of course the private open-air bath in the guest room was amazing. We had both dinner and breakfast in a private dining room. The staff member who took care of us was highly professional and kind; everything from the timing of each course to the explanations of every dish and overall service was flawless, allowing us to enjoy our meals comfortably from start to finish. And finally, the greatest highlight here is definitely the Onsen! There are many different types of baths on site—so many that we seriously discussed “the best order” to try them all (laughs)! We were so busy enjoying the Onsen that we didn’t have time to relax with drinks in the lounge. That just gives us an excuse to come back. In short, our family of four thoroughly enjoyed this stay with dinner and breakfast included. The Room, cuisine, service, and Onsen—all exceeded our expectations. This Accommodation comes highly recommended for anyone who loves hot springs or wants a relaxing time at an Onsen Ryokan. We would love to stay again!

Once again, we were able to relax very much as usual. We were satisfied with everything—the cuisine, hospitality, and Facility—and as always, the food in particular was outstanding. We truly enjoyed it together with sake. One request: I believe I mentioned this once before, but would you consider making the soft drinks in the Room refrigerator complimentary? For an Accommodation of Umi no Shogetsu’s caliber, it is rare to find one where soft drinks in the refrigerator are charged. (It’s not a significant amount, but it affects how it feels.) In summer, after soaking in the open-air bath in the Room and stepping out, having only water that isn’t even chilled feels a bit disappointing. If complimentary drinks are difficult, please consider at least providing a pitcher of cold barley tea or oolong tea in the Room during summer. Thank you very much for all your thoughtful arrangements for my wife’s birthday again this time. Next time, we hope to visit again and look forward to enjoying fugu in winter.
