This was our third stay. We stayed with three families, including our sons. They kindly provided a large banquet room so we could have dinner together, and we enjoyed a lively, wonderful meal. As always, we were impressed by the heartfelt dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Thanks to the attentive service down to the smallest details, we had a very comfortable stay. As expected of Kamenoi Bessou.

This was our first stay here, and among all the places we’ve visited, it was the best Accommodation for Western-style cuisine. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality from welcome to farewell. The Room (very relaxing) and the bath (the in-room bath was more than enough) were both excellent. Above all, the meals were outstanding—both dinner and breakfast. Each dish was beautifully presented (including the tableware) and delicious, and we were amazed by how many items there were in the Japanese breakfast (we finished everything). We will definitely visit again during the autumn foliage season. One request: it would be nice to have body wash towels available in the bath area.

It had been since last autumn, but this is an Accommodation that soothes me no matter when I visit. Of course, the Room and the Onsen are wonderful, as are the meals—modern French with witty, thought-provoking menus each time, and a Japanese breakfast made with carefully selected ingredients—but even more than that, I’m always delighted by the staff’s quiet attentiveness everywhere, including turndown service during both dinner and breakfast. I go outside the rear entrance to smoke each time, and there was a small bench that hadn’t been there before. Near the exit were several mats you can use on the bench. I was moved by these little touches and found myself even more captivated by Kokon. I’m already looking forward to deciding when to visit next.

From the welcoming staff to the front desk team, Room guidance, and dining staff, everyone was courteous and made us feel truly comfortable. The Room was clean, and both the indoor bath and open-air bath were very relaxing. Each dish was beautifully prepared—from seasoning to presentation—and everything was delicious. Thank you for giving us such a soothing time on this trip with friends. Next time, we would love to visit again with our family.

Using aromatic vegetables, fish, and meat from the Kyoto area, each ingredient is prepared and served with the utmost care to preserve its natural fragrance, flavor, and texture in the best possible way. The chef’s evolving craft was truly impressive. I was also moved by the sommelier’s sincere dedication to wine. The cuisine feels perfectly suited to this one-of-a-kind Meiji-era mansion dining experience in Japan.

This was our eighth stay. Ever since our first visit, the Room, the private bath, and the surroundings of the Hotel have been very comfortable, and the meals are delicious. We stay about once a year, and it has become something my wife and I truly look forward to. This time as well, the food was excellent—especially the Chateaubriand, which was outstanding. Although it was rainy and we didn’t go to Mount Koya this time, we were able to see exceptionally beautiful flowering peach trees and weeping cherry blossoms around Sanso Amanosato.

It was a wonderful Accommodation, just as the Reviews said. The food, the interior throughout the property, and the furnishings in the guest rooms were all tastefully chosen, and since there were only six groups of guests, we were able to relax even though it was peak season. The staff’s service was also excellent. It was an Accommodation that made us want to come back again after a long time.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed a “staycation,” with lounge hopping across four lounges as the main highlight. First, we walked from Shinagawa Station to the Hotel, but IKYU’s directions said “cross Daiichi Keihan…,” so we crossed the signal right after exiting the Takanawa Exit. However, the route to the right after crossing was blocked due to construction, so we had to turn back. After exiting the Takanawa Exit, it’s best to turn right and walk along Daiichi Keihan, then turn left at the first traffic light onto Sakura-zaka. Alternatively, since it’s a continuous uphill slope, I think taking the shuttle bus would be a good option. We visited all four lounges, and as expected, Hana-Kouro’s lounge was the most relaxing; the drinks were also of higher quality and excellent. The champagne during cocktail time—and Dassai—was a real treat. We also enjoyed tasting different sake. There were some light bites during cocktail time, but it would have been even better if there had been additional hors d’oeuvres. Breakfast was delicious as well. It was our first time trying a matcha grinding experience, and we really enjoyed it. At the lounge, the staff maintained just the right level of attentiveness throughout without being intrusive, which made it very comfortable. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. I stayed at Hotel Mukaitaki in Tsuchiyu Onsen. What I especially loved this time were the cuisine, the open-air bath in the Room, and the strong sense of privacy. Dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and the surf clam shabu-shabu and Fukushima beef were outstanding. The surf clam’s texture and sweetness and the rich flavor of the Fukushima beef were both excellent—these were the most memorable dishes of my stay. Above all, the open-air bath in the Room was amazing. Being able to enjoy the Onsen freely at any time without worrying about others is truly special. Perhaps because there are only a few Rooms, I hardly ran into other guests during my stay. The building was very quiet and felt extremely private. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to relax at an Onsen Accommodation without being concerned about other people. The staff’s thoughtfulness was also wonderful—they escorted me to and from the parking lot at both arrival and departure. They even gave me souvenir rice balls on my way home. It was warm hospitality from start to finish.

We stayed here for a family trip during the Obon holidays. They kindly provided taxi pick-up and drop-off to Nagano Station, which was very helpful. The staff were attentive, and the facility was clean and pleasant, making our stay truly relaxing. The meals were also excellent. We would love to visit again in a different season. We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. While Accommodations with Onsen and breakfast and dinner included are wonderful, we were hoping for a stay that felt more like living locally. We stayed as a couple, and the simple layout—kitchen, dining area, bedroom, toilet, and shower—was impressive and made for a very comfortable stay. The owner’s mural was gentle and blended beautifully with the interior, creating a lovely atmosphere. We were told that in winter all rooms have underfloor heating so you can stay comfortable even in short sleeves, so we’d love to visit again in another season. There’s an OGINO supermarket nearby as well as a butcher shop; we enjoyed basashi and relaxed with Yamanashi wine (the kitchen knife wasn’t very sharp, but honestly it felt safer that way). Partway through our stay, the owner stopped by to check on us and shared stories about life at Lake Yamanaka—more than anything else, that became our favorite memory and made us feel at ease. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

This was my first time visiting Sarugakyo Onsen, and to be honest, it didn’t feel like there was much sightseeing, but this Accommodation was so wonderful that I’d come back just to stay here again. The staff were all very hospitable, and the food was excellent. The pizza in particular was truly delicious—I ended up eating far too much. I’d love to visit again! Thank you very much.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

This was my first stay. (Room name: Akebono-an) It was extremely comfortable, and I was able to relax and take my time. All of the staff were very kind, and it left a strong impression on me how they always greeted me with a smile. In particular, the staff member in charge of our Room supported us thoughtfully in every way—from day-to-day needs to sightseeing advice and suggestions—and I truly appreciated it. They also kindly accommodated a change to the Shuttle Service pickup/drop-off location due to our circumstances, and they handled food allergies properly as well, so we were able to stay with peace of mind. The Room had a modern, sophisticated design and was wonderful. Everything was thoroughly cleaned down to the smallest details, and it felt very fresh and spotless. I was also happy that it even had a mist sauna. Above all, the mountain views from the Room were spectacular, and we could spend time leisurely while enjoying the open scenery. Also, because meals were served in-room, we could relax in a quiet environment without worrying about surrounding noise—this was another highlight. The amenities (such as Touvert lotion) were high quality as well, and you could feel the attention to detail throughout. On the other hand, there were a few points that I felt could make it even more comfortable. If a hair iron were provided, it would be more convenient for women. Also, for indoor slippers within the building: rather than using them only up to the shoe cabinet partway down the corridor, I felt it would be clearer if guests could wear them all the way to each Room entrance—so you don’t have to walk barefoot or risk slippers being mixed up. Regarding the Room design: I thought removing closet doors and making it open would not only improve usability but also better match the current modern and refined atmosphere. The lighting around the washbasin area was slightly dim, which felt somewhat inconvenient when getting ready. I moved a tabletop mirror into the dining area to do my makeup; if that area could be made brighter around the sink counter, it would be easier to use. Also regarding shower fixtures: having an additional holder positioned at a height suitable for showering while standing would be even more convenient. I’ve listed several requests above; however overall this was an extremely satisfying stay. Thanks to everyone’s warm hospitality among your staff members at this Accommodation , we were able to spend our time comfortably and at ease. We would love to visit again.

From the attentive staff and beautifully prepared, delicious cuisine to the spotless Room and two different baths that were both wonderfully relaxing, our stay was satisfying from start to finish. The Japanese sweets provided in the Room were especially delicious—I almost wanted to buy some to take home (they may even be handmade). If I had one small wish, it would be that the lounge drinks included alcohol, which I personally think would have made it even better. The staff’s warm smiles were the best hospitality of all.

It was my first visit. I was completely satisfied with everything, but there are three highlights worth mentioning. I have stayed at many Hotels, and the dining here was exceptionally satisfying. It’s rare to find Western cuisine of this quality. I was amazed by the consommé made from chicken and vegetables—it concentrated the natural flavors of the ingredients beautifully. None of the dishes felt heavy, and I enjoyed everything right to the end. The ayu paired wonderfully with eggplant as well, and I was impressed by how it all came together. My husband and I even said we would like to stay again just for the meals. The wonderful location was also a major plus. I could truly relax while taking in such a luxurious view. I believe that’s thanks to how meticulously everything is kept clean—from the rooms to the large public bath and even the garden. We enjoyed coffee in the library, and used cups were promptly cleared away; there wasn’t a single unpleasant detail. Above all, what stood out most was how wonderful your staff are. Everyone—the person who provided Shuttle Service by bus, the front desk team, each member of restaurant service staff, and housekeeping—was warm and professional. There were also staff members with charming Fukushima dialects, which sounded lovely to me. In particular, one restaurant staff member remained poised while still engaging in pleasant conversation; unfortunately I didn’t get their name. I hope to see them again on my next visit. It was a truly satisfying day in every way. All four private Onsens were wonderful, and we enjoyed them right up until one hour before check-out. We were also happy with the wide variety of complimentary drinks available at any time. Of course, every dish was delicious, and we especially appreciated the strong local character of the cuisine. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again as soon as possible.
