I had been wanting to try a soy sauce pressing experience for a long time, so I came to visit. I joined casually, but the deeply moving stories you shared left a strong impression on me. Enjoying freshly pressed soy sauce with grilled kuzumochi was exceptionally delicious. I was also happy that there was a lounge where we could freely enjoy wine and coffee. The wine provided happened to be from one of my favorite wineries, which made me even happier. The meal was wonderful—each ingredient’s flavor really stood out, and everything was delicious. There were so many ways to enjoy the soy sauce that my excitement never faded. The Room was very clean and comfortable. All of the staff were incredibly kind, and I’m truly grateful for your hospitality. It was a truly luxurious time for both mind and body. Every time we enjoy the soy sauces we bought as souvenirs, we’re reminded of Maruto Soy Sauce, and my husband and I still talk about how much fun it was whenever it comes up. We’ll be back again.

This Hotel was the very purpose of our trip to Kagawa Prefecture. We didn’t do any sightseeing at all, but from the bottom of my heart I’m so glad we came. Throughout the entire Facility, we could feel the owners’ attention to detail and refined sense of beauty in every corner, and at the same time we were truly grateful for their warm hospitality toward guests. Vintage and modern, Japan and Europe—things that are completely different were seamlessly combined through their sensibility. The interior design, the cuisine, and even its presentation were all wonderful and deeply inspiring. The old sofa in our Room had real character, was very comfortable to sit on, and matched perfectly with the modern furniture. Over time, the linen has developed such a beautiful color! I could really understand why the owner is so particular about that sofa. Also, since I’ve been considering buying the chair at the writing desk myself, I was happy to be able to try how it feels to sit in it. Everything they have selected was fascinating and exciting. Above all, their personalities are wonderful—we definitely want to come back again. (A stylish husband and an adorable wife!!) We’d love to stay in other Rooms as well, and see the garden in a different season too. For us, this was a truly meaningful encounter that brought new insights. I visited Hiiragiya again. I had made a Reservation for a Room with a bath and toilet, but I was first shown to a Room without them. It was still very comfortable, but when I asked to Check Reservation, I was told there had been a mistake, and you kindly arranged for me to stay in the Room associated with author Yasunari Kawabata. Thank you for your thoughtful care. Once again, I enjoyed Kyoto’s summer flavors—chilled edamame soup topped with sea urchin, pike conger sashimi, grilled tilefish with crispy scales, jellied soft-shelled turtle broth, Kamo eggplant with sesame sauce, and more—then fully enjoyed Yoiyama and fell asleep thinking of Mr. Kawabata before continuing on to the Gion Festival. Kyoto is changing little by little, but this is the beauty of Japan—and the spirit of Japanese hospitality—that I hope will be passed on to future generations.

We stayed in Yokohama on the first day, visited Yokosuka on the second day, and decided to stay overnight on the Miura Peninsula. The Accommodation is a renovated historic building, and it beautifully preserves the original design from that time inside—it was truly atmospheric and moving. Our child was also surprised at how spacious and clean it was. Miura may not have the flashy feel of other tourist spots, but we were impressed by how many buildings have a nostalgic, old-fashioned charm. In the evening we went to a nearby seafood restaurant, and it was outstanding. I also highly recommend taking the Nijiiro Sakana-go boat tour. The staff at the Accommodation were very kind as well. Thank you very much.

Nakamatsuya is one of my favorite Onsen Accommodations. Whenever I step into the entrance, seeing the cheerful staff and the proprietress smiling is truly soothing. The Room, Onsen, and cuisine are consistently excellent. I’d like to visit again next year around the time the cherry blossoms bloom in Bessho Onsen.

Its kaleidoscopic beauty resonates deeply in the heart. Exquisitely prepared with sincere care, the cuisine is truly delicious. A beautiful garden that reflects the seasons—so captivating you could gaze at it forever. Elegant summer décor that lets you fully experience Kyoto’s traditional culture. Hanging scrolls, ikebana, and a beautifully arranged Room down to every detail. The head chef, attendants, the young proprietress, and the proprietress herself offer warm, attentive hospitality with genuine grace. Thinking that all of this beauty is an expression of love for each guest fills me with freshness and gratitude. At Kikkawa, you can feel the refined spirit of Kyoto—an appreciation for making everyday life beautiful and joyful. It began as an Accommodation I hoped to stay at at least once in my life; before I knew it, this was my 11th visit. A superb culinary Ryokan I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who truly loves Kyoto.

I stayed here while traveling with a couple of friends. Everything was excellent, and compared with other Accommodations in the same price range, I felt it offered outstanding value for money. I would definitely like to stay again. Hospitality I made a slightly unusual request, but all the staff responded very politely and thoughtfully. I also really appreciated the small touches, such as being able to borrow pool towels free of charge afterward and having towels available in the bath area as well. There was a wide selection of welcome drinks, and I enjoyed every one. Facilities Not only is the building truly one of a kind, but everything—from the audio room and pool to the futons in the Room—was wonderful. The audio room in particular was an amazing experience. Next time, I’d like to bring my own records. Although it is a historic building, it is carefully maintained throughout and felt very clean. Meals Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Breakfast especially was fun, with side dishes you don’t often see at a typical buffet-style breakfast. Bath It’s not an Onsen, but I found the bath area clean and open, and it was very relaxing. The walk there is enjoyable too.

We stayed as a family of three. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay—the atmosphere of the Facility and the attentive service from the staff. The French course featuring duck, which we had requested in advance, was carefully prepared dish by dish. Not only was it delicious, but the presentation and ingredient pairings were outstanding—truly showcasing the chef’s talent. Recently, we often choose “Sakagura,” and in any case it is wonderfully quiet. The entire building has a calm presence, allowing us to relax and enjoy unhurried time away from everyday life. As always, all staff members were kind and courteous. Their thoughtful attention to detail could be felt throughout our stay, and we were comfortable from start to finish. Once again, we felt this is a truly wonderful Accommodation where the cuisine, Facility, and service are all in perfect harmony. Thank you very much.

During our stay, the staff’s hospitality was truly outstanding, and we are sincerely grateful. They kindly and flexibly consulted with us about the early-morning visit and breakfast times, and they were happy to accommodate sudden changes. There is no TV in the Room, but the quietness was actually very comfortable, and we enjoyed a much-needed digital detox. The sounds of insects and cicadas in the early morning made our trip even more enriching. The Room, making beautiful use of a traditional kura storehouse, blends history and modern comfort seamlessly—our stay itself felt like a special experience. We were also deeply comforted by your thoughtful gesture of providing “Misogi-no-Yu” for guests who are unable to visit Futami Okitama Shrine before praying at Ise Jingu. If we have the opportunity, we would love to return again next time. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time!

It was our first time staying here!! Our dog was thrilled with the spacious yard. In the evening, we relaxed with a BBQ and a campfire—such a great time. There were also drinks and amenities provided, so it’s a perfect 100/100!! We went ahead and made another Reservation. We look forward to staying again next time!!

This was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Our family takes 2–3 trips a year to an Onsen Accommodation that we can reach from Tokyo for one night, usually spending around JPY 30,000–40,000 per person. My wife chooses the Accommodation each time, but lately none have been memorable or especially appealing—until now. For the first time in a while, we found an Accommodation we genuinely want to visit again. Many of the staff are from Southeast Asia, but they told us they have passed JLPT N1 and also undergo a one-year training period. We never once had any trouble communicating. I previously lived in Thailand for about five years, so I already knew people from Southeast Asia are often even more diligent and hardworking than Japanese people—but I was still impressed by just how much so. Thanks to them, we were able to spend a very comfortable and pleasant time here. These days many staff members don’t wear name tags (perhaps due to measures against customer harassment), so I didn’t catch anyone’s name, but I would like to sincerely thank the woman who took care of our Room—she was wonderful and very thoughtful. The heartfelt send-off by all staff after checkout truly moved me. As for the Onsen: honestly, both the water quality and the bath itself felt fairly standard, though everything was very clean. One thing I noticed is that it’s great not having to bring towels into the bath area; however, you still need to carry things like fresh underwear or your phone. In the end I used a plastic shopping bag out of necessity, but it would be helpful if you could provide (and leave in the Room) a larger drawstring pouch like those commonly found at other Onsen facilities. Also, my wife said she felt scared because it was dark on the way to the large bath and inside the bathing area as well. Lastly, we felt that the air conditioner noise was slightly loud—just mentioning this in case it helps. And finally—the meals were outstanding! The balance, portion size, and taste were all impeccable. Because I’m quite big (and eat a lot), meals at most Accommodations aren’t enough for me; this time I shared small portions of my wife’s meal with our son as well and still felt about 90% full—in other words, very satisfied without being overly stuffed. While breakfast is often disappointing at many places these days, breakfast here was also excellent—especially because it wasn’t that typical thin and overly crispy dried horse mackerel you often see elsewhere. And above all: the wasabi was delicious! Being able to get refills freely made it even better. In any case, we definitely want to come again—thank you very much.

The floors throughout the Ryokan were comfortable to walk on barefoot, making it feel like home. I completely understood why rolling suitcases are not allowed. I could really appreciate the owner’s attention to detail, and I thought it was wonderful. The location was excellent, and the meals were delicious.

The Facility in the guest room was excellent, the meals were very delicious, and above all, the service provided by the staff was outstanding, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I travel out many times throughout the year. I was truly won over by how delicious the food was here. The rice was cooked perfectly! Ayu sashimi (my first time), salt-grilled ayu (the seasoning, grilling, and timing of service), and even the soup—everything was flawless. From now on, your salt-grilled ayu will likely be my benchmark for taste. This may sound presumptuous, but I believe it’s simple dishes that really show a chef’s skill. The yukata in the Room were crisp and nicely starched, so even someone like me who doesn’t usually like yukata could wear it comfortably. I also appreciated the detox water after bathing.

Although it’s a secluded Accommodation deep in the mountains, it’s relatively easy to access by car and not difficult to reach. The Accommodation features classic, traditional Japanese architecture, yet it feels clean and has been thoughtfully renovated for comfort and ease of use. It was clear how much care goes into its upkeep, which I truly admire. The surrounding nature is lush, and the greenery and gentle sound of the river are very soothing. That said, the bedding mattress felt a bit firm for me personally, which was a small minus point (I didn’t wake up sore the next morning, so this is purely my personal impression). The hot spring source is around 37°C and lukewarm, but there are also heated baths, so it wasn’t an issue. If I had one wish: since I’m not fond of lukewarm water, I would have liked the heated tub to be larger. Meals were mainly simple countryside dishes, but everything was very delicious. Younger guests might find it a little light; in that case, I recommend ordering additional dishes. For us it was just the right amount—and we could get refills of rice—so we were very satisfied. Many of the staff were young, but they were always smiling and pleasant, with excellent attentiveness and consideration. This is an outstanding Accommodation that makes Japanese guests feel at ease—I hope it never changes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I originally made a Reservation at “Nene no Michi Bettei,” but due to a change in Room allocation, I ended up staying at Hotel VMG Kyoto Kamogawa. From check-in to check-out, I was deeply impressed by the staff’s impeccable attention to detail and thoughtful hospitality. Sleeping in the bedroom while gazing up at the coffered ceiling felt like an “exceptional escape from everyday life.” At the paid lounge, alcohol and other drinks are available free-flow, with snacks as well—it truly feels like a private lounge. Because the property preserves the character of a historic building, soundproofing is not perfect; however, it more than makes up for it with an elegant, nostalgic atmosphere. The Japanese-style room next to the bedroom overlooks a small courtyard garden and offers a wonderfully atmospheric view that made time feel as if it passed more slowly. That said, perhaps because the air conditioning does not reach this room easily, I found the heat noticeable. Although it would involve additional cost, lending spot coolers or simple heaters to guests upon request during limited seasons (summer/winter) could help make better use of this room and may also become a new experiential highlight—especially for international travelers. I’m truly grateful to all of the staff for giving me such an extraordinary stay. This is a Hotel I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an “indescribably exceptional escape from everyday life.”

This is my fourth stay, and each time has been better than the last. In addition to the exceptional hospitality each staff member shows to every guest, you can also feel their dedication to continually improving the Accommodation, and I discover something new with every visit. I’m always grateful for the irreplaceable time I get to spend here—something I can only experience at Takinami. Next time will be in autumn. Thank you in advance.

I stayed in a newly renovated Room, and it was wonderful. The in-room perks were excellent. In particular, the all-you-can-eat gelato was an incredibly generous service—perfect after the Onsen—and I enjoyed trying many different flavors. Everything was delicious. The pre-dinner aperitif can be chosen from the menu, and the lounge coffee machine is truly high-quality, so I used it many times. Both the quality and quantity of the meals were very satisfying, and what impressed me most was the staff. There were many young team members, but everyone’s hospitality was outstanding. Some staff members spent a long time chatting with elderly guests because they were approached for conversation, yet they responded without showing any displeasure at all—I was genuinely impressed. You can also enjoy two different types of Onsen water, and I think this Accommodation offers excellent value for money. I will definitely return again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of me.

Although it is not an Onsen, we were able to relax and rest in a calm atmosphere. The breakfast was also delicious, and we were very satisfied. Chilled drinks in the refrigerator are also free of charge.

It was my first time visiting Nara. I was very satisfied with my first stay at Kaze no Naramachi. The hospitality was wonderful in every aspect—from the service and the Room to the meals and thoughtful care. The weather was bad, so sightseeing did not go as planned, but I would like to stay again and fully enjoy what Nara has to offer. Thank you as well for the delicious sake.
