Although it was a new Hotel, there was a corridor from the 2nd floor (the reception floor) to the neighboring “Hotel Shidotaira,” allowing guests to share Facilities. Hotel Shidotaira is a large-scale property with features children enjoy, such as a big water slide, and we were told it is run by the same management. This “Shidate” does not allow children under 12 to stay, so it offered a quiet environment. The Room felt a bit small, but the split-level layout helped make up for it. Recently, most Rooms with an open-air Onsen bath allow automatic temperature control, but this Hotel had true free-flowing hot-spring water at about 50°C, so adjusting the temperature was difficult. In that respect, the open-air public bath—along with the footbath—was very pleasant. The relaxation room also had amenities that younger women would appreciate, such as nail dryers. The after-bath lounge was better stocked than at other Hotels we have stayed at. After dinner, we could relax in the lounge at length; it felt like an adults-oriented Hotel completely different from the neighboring one.

Thank you very much for having me stay at your Accommodation for two nights and three days from Saturday, July 25 to Monday, July 27. This was my first solo summer trip staying at an Onsen Ryokan, and I was truly happy with how spacious the Room was. I also really appreciated the complimentary services such as delicious sweets and bottled water. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, including shabu-shabu made with Kobe beef, a specialty of Hyogo Prefecture, as well as fish dishes such as salmon. This time I used the private Onsen at night by myself for the first time. In the past, I have visited Onsens with my family in places like Yatsugatake (spanning Nagano and Yamanashi) and Aizu in Fukushima. Being able to enjoy a private Onsen alone this time was very relaxing, and it was wonderful to soak slowly without worrying about anyone else around. Lastly, I had a great time on this summer trip during my two-night stay from July 25 to July 27. I will be busy with work again, but after saving up more of my salary, I would love to come back. We stayed as a group of two adults and three preschool children. The Accommodation was very clean, and the Room was spacious, so we could relax comfortably. We chose a Room with an open-air bath, which meant we could bathe anytime and then lounge on the bed or sofa—absolutely wonderful. The minibar was well stocked, with a great selection ranging from non-alcoholic drinks to wine, juice, and coffee. We could also borrow table games, and in the evening our family enjoyed playing Othello. Since we had a 0-year-old baby, we requested a baby bath and a diaper trash bin. Not only were those provided, but they also kindly placed baby soap for us as well, which we really appreciated. When I asked on the day if it would be possible to lay out futons in the Japanese-style Room, they gladly agreed and prepared them while we were at dinner. After going to the beach, there was an outdoor shower around the back with warm water available. It also connected to a rear entrance leading directly to the large public bath inside, so we were able to stay comfortable throughout our time in the Accommodation. The meals were delicious. They contacted us in advance about allergies and accommodated us accordingly, so we could dine with peace of mind. At mealtimes—without us even asking—they had already set up a bed where our baby could sleep. They also lent coloring books and toys so our older children wouldn’t get bored, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed meal for the first time in quite a while. One small but truly appreciated point: they provided towels generously. There were plenty of both bath towels and face towels in the Room, and after returning from the beach they handed us fresh bath towels for everyone along with clothes we had left at reception beforehand. There was no need to request extra towels at all—zero minor stress. All of the staff were pleasant and welcoming; it was a wonderful Accommodation full of hospitality. When we visit Amanohashidate again, we will definitely stay here. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a twin room with a terrace and open-air Onsen bath. The room was stylish and very comfortable, but the highlight was definitely the amazing open-air Onsen bath! There were wooden boards for Yumomi, a famous tradition of Kusatsu, allowing us to fully enjoy the Kusa

Because it was a three-day weekend right at the start of summer vacation, it ended up a little over our original budget—but we wanted to stay here so badly that we made the Reservation anyway. And once we actually stayed… it was worth every yen—no, even more than that. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location was even better than expected: right in front of us were white sand and a blue sea. There were quite a few families and international guests, but at night it was very quiet. You can head straight to the beach from the Hotel, and everything was thoughtfully prepared—dedicated beach sandals, a washing machine, towels, and more. I also really appreciated that when you take off your slippers there, you can place them neatly into a shoe box labeled with your Room name—something I found especially reassuring as someone who’s a bit particular about cleanliness. The Room was truly spacious, spotless, and very functional. Everything felt refined from corner to corner—the washbasin, furnishings, wall colors, decorations—all beautifully coordinated and calming. A small detail, but the loungewear fabric was very soft and had buttons so it stayed in place comfortably. The semi-open-air bath in the guest room had excellent water quality and temperature. Being able to soak slowly while looking out at the ocean—with no insects flying around—was pure bliss. We enjoyed our in-room meals while chatting pleasantly with our attendant; everything was delicious. The simmered whole kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) was especially impressive—large and full of flavor—truly “this is Izu!” That said, personally I would have preferred beef as steak (even a small portion) rather than chilled shabu-shabu wrapped with vegetables. If many guests are older adults, it would be great if there were an option available even with an additional charge. Breakfast included many dishes as well—I ended up eating quite a lot first thing in the morning! Overall this Accommodation deserves high marks across the board; if I had to be strictly critical, dinner alone could have felt slightly more luxurious or surprising—something that makes you think “This is exceptional—I’ve never tasted anything like it.” Even so, it was such a wonderful Accommodation that I absolutely want to return again next year.
