The guest Room had high ceilings and an open-air bath; there was a Japanese-style room next to the bed, and each room had a TV, so I could truly refresh. The meals were kaiseki cuisine—sashimi, tempura, grilled fish, a small hot pot, chilled chawanmushi, and more—everything was very delicious, and I also had two large draft beers.

The shower is high quality with three modes, and it doesn’t shut off automatically, so it’s easy to use. Sometimes soap suds splash around the washing area near the door, so it’s better to rinse the floor well before leaving. The shampoo and other amenities are also good quality. 3. At the 1st-floor restaurant, soft drinks are free-flow for many time slots. From 18:00 to 20:00, alcohol is also free-flow. It’s excellent—however, there is no beer. It’s free, which is very helpful. 4. From 21:00, ochazuke is served and can be a light dinner. It’s delicious, but limited to one bowl per person (no refills). 5. Breakfast isn’t extravagant, but it’s tasty enough and recommended. 6. From check-in, we had a very positive impression, and the rest of the staff were equally wonderful. The dining staff were all from overseas, but they served us with smiles and great dedication, and it was clear they are well trained. We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary with crab, so we made a Reservation at the last minute. When we arrived, the proprietress welcomed us with a warm smile, and after check-in at the front desk, she kindly showed us to our Room. The building itself has a sense of history, and there are stairs and steps throughout, so it may be a bit challenging for guests with mobility issues. The Room isn’t large, but it was spotless, and thoughtful touches—like a heated carpet laid over the tatami—made it feel especially comfortable. After changing into yukata, we headed straight to the Onsen. We started with the large public bath only; even the baskets in the changing area were lovely and lifted our spirits. Once inside, we were impressed by the very high ceiling and stylish design—stained-glass doors and an elegant layout that created a wonderfully open atmosphere. Then came dinner—the highlight we’d been looking forward to. First was a refreshing sudachi aperitif that was delicious. The sashimi starter featured sweet shrimp that were wonderfully plump, and the firefly squid dressed with vinegared miso was surprisingly tender—the gentle flavor of the miso dressing was perfect. I’m not enough of a crab connoisseur to confidently tell all the differences (like tagged crab), but since it was a special occasion, we chose a Plan that included Taiza crab sashimi—and it had an incredible melt-in-your-mouth sweetness... We could enjoy it not only with crab vinegar but also with sudachi or salt—truly outstanding! That alone almost would have satisfied us—but this is where things really began: fragrant grilled crab; a rich yet clean-tasting Taiza crab miso soup; then crab hot pot followed by rice porridge; dessert of crab ice cream; and even chocolate mousse to celebrate our anniversary. It’s frustrating that all I can say is “delicious,” because everything really was. After dinner, we relaxed in the private bath we had reserved without worrying about anyone else around us, changed into pajamas (a very welcome touch!), and drifted off completely satisfied... The next morning we visited the bath with an open-air tub. This outdoor bath also had an ocean view and felt wonderful—we soaked slowly and enjoyed every moment. Breakfast was classic Japanese style—simple but delicious... It was my first time trying heshiko, and it was so good that I even used the discount voucher on our way out to buy some. They saw us off with warm smiles until the very end, making this an incredibly satisfying wedding anniversary trip. Thank you very much!
