It was conveniently located with easy access from Kamata, and the room was very clean and well maintained. The large public bath isn’t very big, but it wasn’t crowded, so it was comfortable. We could hear singing from a nearby karaoke place or snack bar, which was a bit noisy. Perhaps due to the neighborhood, it was noisy at night.

I was a bit worried since it’s basically unmanned, but the email communication was courteous and thorough. The Room was clean and spacious, and the bathtub and shower were separate, so I could relax and enjoy a long bath. I think there were other guests based on the number of shoes at the entrance, but it was surprisingly quiet. There are slippers (sandals) to get from the entrance to the Room, but if you’re concerned about hygiene, you might want to bring disposable slippers. Thank you for your hospitality. We stayed at Hotel New Ote as a base for sightseeing in Hakodate and enjoying the night view from Mt. Hakodate. It was conveniently located near the morning market, tram stops, and bus stops. The building is old, but the room was clean. We stayed for only one night, but we were satisfied to be able to use the private family bath as well.

Our second stay, following last year. Last time we chose a no-meals Plan and brought meat, vegetables, and other ingredients from home to enjoy a BBQ on the terrace. The terrace had a large gas grill, plus a table and chairs always set up. It was pouring rain outside, but the space was completely sheltered from wind and rain, so we could BBQ comfortably as if we were indoors. This time, since we planned to spend dinner with friends’ family in Omura City, we chose a breakfast-only Plan. Right after arrival, the staff warmly welcomed us and provided careful guidance and explanations about the Facility, while our dog enjoyed playing ball in the outdoor yard. Last time we booked a Room with a large garden but couldn’t use it due to heavy rain, so this time we chose one without a garden. Even so, there was still enough yard space for ball play, and there was also a dog run next to the Accommodation building. In addition to an indoor hinoki bath in the Room, there was even an open-air bath, so we could relax in the baths after returning from dinner and again in the morning. For breakfast, more than enough ingredients were prepared in the refrigerator, along with plenty of seasonings and tableware—so we made a luxurious morning meal at our preferred time and in our own way. For reference: my daughter had cheese toast with grilled bacon plus a fresh vegetable salad, yogurt, and soup; my husband had hot sandwiches with fried eggs plus salad and coffee—everyone ate what they liked and was very satisfied. One note: there were thorny plants growing in parts of the yard and dog run; it can be dangerous unless removed before letting dogs play. We ended up trimming some ourselves while saying it would be nice if it were mowed shorter overall. Even so, it’s an excellent Facility—we will definitely stay again.

You can tell the building is old. Even so, I think it has been kept clean. What was disappointing is that the plumbing Facility feels dated. There was peeling on the side and bottom of the unit bath. (If this were improved, it would be an amazing value!) The Room door and the unit-bath door were warped, making them hard to open and close. A 10:00 check-out is very helpful, but from around 9:00 you can hear staff talking in the hallway as they clean other rooms, which makes you feel rushed. Breakfast was better than expected for a free offering. There were three kinds of bread, two kinds of salad, two simmered dishes, ham, rice, miso soup, and both raw and boiled eggs. There are convenience stores, a supermarket, and izakaya pubs around the Hotel, which is very convenient.

I chose this Accommodation because I was attracted by the in-room sauna, and I stayed here on this trip. All of the staff were very courteous, and I had a comfortable stay. I was also happy that the sauna was already warmed up at check-in, so I could use it right away. Since it was during the Golden Week holiday period, the rate was higher than usual, but my satisfaction exceeded that and it turned into a very fulfilling stay. I would definitely like to stay again. The staff's warm and attentive service from the moment we checked in made our stay incredibly enjoyable for both us and our children. (We are especially grateful for their flexibility in arranging mountain climbing bento boxes.) We stayed for three nights, and every day we were treated to a different menu featuring the abundant seafood and mountain delicacies unique to Yakushima and Kagoshima, making each meal a delightful experience. After trekking to Jomon Sugi and Taikoiwa, the natural Onsen provided ultimate relaxation for both body and mind. The well-stocked amenities, along with the impeccably clean facilities throughout the property, ensured a comfortable stay from start to finish. My wife, son, and I traveled from Nagoya with our dog. We followed the navigation via the Chuo Expressway, got off at Azusagawa IC, and after that there was almost nothing along the local roads—no gas stations—until we finally found one near the Accommodation. After arriving, we presented our dog’s various certificates at reception to check in. The staff were very kind. The first place we were shown was the café lounge: unlimited soft drinks, ice cream, and even alcohol (as much as available?!). There were also 4–5 kinds of dog treats prepared, which felt like a great perk for guests. Next to the café lounge there was also a pet shower room. What surprised me was that other guests also said they couldn’t smell any “pet odor,” and I hadn’t noticed it either—it really didn’t bother us at all. However, the smoking room is located around the center of the 2nd floor, and the cigarette smell inside that room was… quite strong. This time we stayed in a Japanese-style room because no Western-style rooms were available. At reception we were told that if our dog soiled any bedding we would be charged a cleaning fee, so we put our dog in diapers. Thanks to that nothing got dirty—but in an unexpected twist, my son got a nosebleed and stained the sheets. We weren’t charged anything, but I’m very sorry about that. Changing topics: Both dinner and breakfast were buffet style. For dinner we could choose 17:30 or 19:00; for breakfast 7:00 or 8:00. Everything was satisfying overall; alcoholic drinks are available for an additional charge. The bath is an Onsen open from 15:00 to 22:00, and in the morning from 5:00 to 10:00. There is an outdoor dog run with facilities and a washing area, plus towels for wiping paws. There is also an indoor one on the second floor. Stepping outside into such clear air helped me forget about work for a while, and we made wonderful memories with our dog and family. We’d love to come again! On the way back we headed toward Okaya IC on local roads before returning to Nagoya; from this Accommodation to Okaya IC the roads were well paved, and there are places like Suwa Taisha Shrine (Suwa Grand Shrine), Utsukushigahara Highlands (Plateau), roadside stations (Michi-no-Eki), etc., so it’s easy to make stops along the way.
