It seems this property had just opened in the summer, and I found it while looking for a place to stay in Atami. Since it was right after opening, everything was very clean. You can also enjoy drinks in the lounge. Overall it has a Japanese style, but the rooms are stylishly designed as well—tatami with beds is great. The TV is large, and I was surprised by how many high-end amenities they provide. The best part was the bath. It’s a semi-open-air bath, but it’s impressively spacious for an in-room bath, and the water circulates so you can soak anytime—perfect. Since we were in Atami, we also tried the large public bath on the first floor. That was spacious too, and the open-air rock bath was wonderful. After relaxing in the baths, we had dinner. The dining area is on B1, and it’s incredibly stylish—more like a chic dining spot you’d find in central Tokyo. There were quite a few international staff members as well (perhaps because of the location). Some moments felt a bit awkward at times, but everyone worked hard and left a great impression—it made me want to support them going forward. The food was excellent too—perhaps creative kaiseki cuisine. You could really feel their attention to detail, and everything tasted outstanding. Atami can be crowded with young people around the station area, but this place felt calm and elegant—a space where you can truly unwind. I visit Atami often, and this is definitely an inn I’d love to return to again.

I stayed in a clean, luxurious Japanese-style room for day use. It was a wonderful hotel where I could enjoy Yugawara hot springs and a sauna in the room. The amenities and rental items were well stocked, and I would like to stay again. There is also karaoke equipment, so I think karaoke lovers will enjoy it.

I returned to Kawazuya again for the delicious food and the Onsen. Soaking in the dimly lit cave bath, I find myself becoming completely empty-minded... it’s a precious time when I can clear my head for a while. After the bath, enjoying the many delicious dinner dishes with Iwanashi sake was the best. The myoga (Japanese ginger) in fried tofu was especially outstanding. Breakfast was also very tasty, enjoyed while looking at the Akiyama-go scenery from the window, and the lightly sweet tamagoyaki made me want more rice. The facilities are new and the amenities are well stocked, and perhaps we were also lucky with the weather, but the open-air bath with a sauna was incredibly relaxing. Although we booked and visited at the last minute the day before, when we mentioned that it was for an anniversary celebration, they surprised us with a warm and thoughtful gesture. The food was excellent as well, and the dinner salad pleasantly exceeded our expectations. The lounge snacks felt a little limited, but there was a great variety of drinks and we enjoyed them. Even though this is a new property, the staff’s service was polished and truly outstanding. After finishing my early-morning run (a hobby of mine) and returning, I found several complimentary bottles of water at just the right temperature along with multiple towels in the reception area—an attention to detail that really impressed me. We also enjoyed hearing about their ongoing efforts to improve things and their plans for future expansion, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

It was a truly wonderful hotel. Located very close to the port on Shodoshima, it was also very convenient in terms of access. As for the meals, dinner was an exciting experience because you could choose both the main ingredient and the cooking method. For appetizers, you can pick as many of your favorites as you like. Overall, the portions were generous and we enjoyed a wide variety of dishes. Since it was a weekday, both the restaurant and the hot spring felt like they were reserved just for us. The bath also had amenities and towels provided in the bathing area, which was another nice touch. It’s a place I’d love to visit again.
