We stayed in Building D, which is pet-friendly. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. There’s honestly nothing to criticize, so here are a few tips to help you enjoy your stay even more. Jacuzzi / Open-air bath / Pool: 　Bringing a swimsuit is recommended. Stink bugs (currently a large outbreak): 　It’s helpful to bring sticky tape for removal. Bakery: 　There’s a great bakery nearby. Amenities: 　High-quality POLA amenities are provided, so you only need to bring the basics. To fully enjoy it: 　You’ll probably want to stay two nights. Appliances: 　Most appliances are available, but there doesn’t seem to be an air fryer (probably). Shirarahama Beach: 　It’s just under 2 km away—slightly far. Dogs aren’t allowed on Shirarahama Beach, which is disappointing, but the beauty of the beach is amazing.

I don’t usually post Reviews, but this was such a wonderful Accommodation that I wanted to share it in case it helps anyone considering a stay. I live in central Tokyo, and staying at luxury Hotels in Tokyo is one of my hobbies. A Hotel stay refreshes me and boosts my motivation for work. When I’m craving an Onsen, I choose highly rated Ryokan based on Reviews. YUI has become one of my favorite Accommodations—easily among the top Ryokan I’ve stayed at so far. First, the Room was spotless. I’m a bit particular about cleanliness, but there wasn’t a single thing that bothered me—I was completely comfortable. The meals were delicious, and all the staff were kind and welcoming with genuinely pleasant service. Check-in and check-out are completed in your Room, so you hardly run into other guests. If you want to relax quietly at your own pace, I highly recommend it. I had seen some strict Reviews about the food and was slightly worried, but everything tasted great to me. I was also happy that the drink prices were reasonable (laugh). A river runs right in front of you, and you can fully enjoy nature that you simply can’t experience in the city. The open-air bath in the guest room was especially soothing—I could soak slowly without worrying about anyone’s eyes. Many people dislike insects; what surprised me most was how few came inside. In Rooms with an open-air bath, that’s always something I worry about because I’m not good with bugs—but this time there wasn’t even one insect in the tub or bathroom when I woke up in the morning, which made it extremely comfortable. (You can see insects outside, but somehow they don’t come in.) Also, when it comes to summer Onsen bathing, I usually don’t like stepping outside into heavy humidity before getting in. At YUI, even when going outdoors I barely felt that muggy heat at all, so I could enjoy the Onsen very comfortably even in summer. (I’m not sure if it’s because of Yugawara, the building design, or being surrounded by nature.) This might get me scolded for nitpicking—but if I had to mention any downsides: The towels are clean and fluffy, but their absorbency is slightly weak. Also, if you’re arriving by supercar/low-clearance vehicle (?), you’ll need to choose your Room carefully—advance consultation is essential. To everyone at YUI: thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our stay. Sorry I couldn’t include photos—I’m not good at taking them. We will definitely visit again. I'm already looking forward to deciding which Room to stay in next time.

I stayed here on my first trip to Aizu in 30 years. The Accommodation was clean, had a great atmosphere, and was very comfortable. The food was also excellent—there were many dishes that felt far beyond typical buffet quality. Only the buffet Plan was available, so I was a bit worried at first, but in the end I think choosing the buffet here may have been the right decision. The horse meat nigiri was truly delicious. The freshly fried asparagus tempura and shrimp tempura were plump and juicy, and the sauce katsudon and roast beef bowl were also amazing—I ended up completely full. Since my family are big eaters, we were very satisfied. One small disappointment was that the bath temperature overall felt a bit high, so it wasn’t easy to soak for long. However, it may be perfect for those who prefer hotter baths. I love saunas as well, so if there had been one, it would have been perfect. I haven’t often been this satisfied with a new Accommodation recently, so I was really happy. We stayed as a family of four over a three-day weekend, and at around 20,000 yen per person per night, I felt the quality was excellent for the price. I would like to stay here again when visiting Aizu.

The staff provided attentive service, and we had a very comfortable stay. The restaurant has semi-private seating, which allowed us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace without worrying about others. The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied. Our Room was in a separate annex, with privacy well maintained, so we could truly unwind. This is a wonderful Accommodation where we would love to stay again if we have the chance to visit Kurashiki.

I’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I treated myself to a Multiple Night Stay solo to truly relax. I’m so glad I chose this place! I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans in Japan and abroad, and this has become one of my top three favorites. Everything used throughout the Hotel is carefully selected and meticulously maintained. The staff were warm and kind in such a natural way—it was genuinely soothing. And the food—absolutely unforgettable! I had all three meals here, and if only I had another stomach, I would have loved to try even more from the menu. There were plenty of fresh local vegetables; everything was truly delicious, beautifully presented with great taste, and above all, you could feel the chef’s love in every dish. It makes perfect sense that so many guests return again and again. It was hot in midsummer, but I rented an e-bike, rode to the beach, and went for a swim. Just as rumored, the water was crystal clear—the beach was stunning—and it left me feeling completely refreshed. I will definitely come back in another season. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!

This was my first stay, and it was truly a wonderful Accommodation. I’ve stayed at island Accommodations several times before, but this one had a different feel. It was great that the sea was so close, and being able to see the ocean from the Room was especially nice. The olive kaiseki dinner was exquisite. The variety of olives used in each dish was fun and delicious. I also enjoyed relaxing in the private bath, but I did notice that the drainage seemed a bit poor—the shower water didn’t drain easily, which was inconvenient.

Revisited on December 12, 2025. As last year, we thoroughly enjoyed Matsuba crab. Since female crab is only available until the end of the year, we visited in December. We ordered an additional female crab and upgraded the dried fish at breakfast to nodoguro. This time, we also made a Reservation for a private Onsen bath to fully enjoy the Onsen. The private bath was excellent—if there’s availability, I highly recommend trying it. Our Room this time was Oborozuki, and the semi-open-air bath in the Room allows you to adjust the depth. This was very convenient: keep it shallow when getting in and out, and make it deeper when soaking. Lastly, it seems some guests found the executive chef’s performance a bit overbearing, but it didn’t bother me at all—perhaps because I’ve experienced much flashier performances overseas many times. We’d like to return again next year.

I came to Yamagata for the first time because I wanted to stay here. Since it’s in the middle of town, I wasn’t sure what to expect—but once inside, it felt like a different world. It was quiet and relaxing, with a real sense of nature. The Room was wonderful—so spacious that it almost felt too big for two people—but we could truly unwind as if we were staying at a private villa. The Onsen water quality was also excellent and incredibly soothing. Above all, dinner was absolutely delicious and genuinely moving. Of course the chef’s skill is outstanding, but it also reminded me just how rich Yamagata’s food culture is. Because dinner is served at the counter in small numbers, it was great to hear directly from the chef, and it left a very positive impression to see how kind and close-knit the staff were. It was such an enjoyable dinner. I was a little surprised when the president came around to greet us. I also heard that at Takinami next door he makes soba every day for dinner—I’d love to try that someday as well. What a wonderful person. Although this is a luxury Accommodation, it also feels warm and welcoming—an extremely comfortable place to stay. I’d love to visit again in another season someday.

We stayed here during our children’s summer vacation. Everyone, including me, was very satisfied with the view, the Room, the bath, and the amenities, and we would like to stay again next year. If I had to mention something, there were a lot of insects, and part of the road in front of the cottage is unpaved; also, when pulling out from the first turn off the main road in front, we scraped the underside of our car. Even so, we had a great time. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. Our once-a-year event was incredibly satisfying. From the complimentary early check-in due to our own circumstances and the welcome drink, to your polite, friendly explanations and the commemorative photo at check-out, and above all, the exceptionally clean room, Facilities, and abundant amenities— it was truly a reasonable-priced and outstanding Accommodation. It may have been the best we’ve ever stayed at. If you could consider installing a washlet toilet seat in the future, it would make this Accommodation even more amazing. Even without that, it was a perfect 5-star Review. It became a wonderful memory—we fully enjoyed our night in Fujisawa. We’d love to stay again in a year.

The first Hotel in Japan to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH). The highest level of comfort! They promptly accommodated a sudden Room change and provided wonderfully courteous service. Thank you very much. The same attendant as last time assisted us again, and everyone was delighted with the consistently excellent service. The Hotel’s atmosphere and the staff are always polite and kind—truly outstanding! We will definitely stay again.

It was a wonderful Hotel where we could truly enjoy an extraordinary escape in every way. The staff were well trained and full of hospitality. The Room was fantastic, of course, and it was also great fun to make our own siphon coffee, with bath salts and aromatherapy provided as well—full of thoughtful touches. The three bars were always quiet, and the pool was never crowded or filled with children running around; it really felt like a Hotel for adults. The only concern was that the parking spaces often filled up. Still, we enjoyed colorful, delicious meals that let us feel Okinawa and left us completely satisfied both morning and noon—and then we could head out to explore in the afternoon. Everything was perfect, and we definitely plan to come back next year. For an all-inclusive stay, the price even felt surprisingly reasonable. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for a family trip with our parents in their 80s. The Room was spacious and spotless, with the toilet and bath separated, and a generously sized washbasin—everything exceeded our expectations! Both the Italian dinner and the Japanese breakfast were excellent. In particular, the main dishes of the Italian course (both the fish and meat) were outstanding, and the peach mille-feuille dessert was just the right size and not overly sweet—absolutely delicious. The staff who assisted us were also very pleasant, making it a thoroughly satisfying stay for our whole family. It was also great for my parents that we could take the elevator to get to the large public bath. The only disappointment was that Mt. Fuji didn’t show itself—but that can’t be helped! A staff member told us it’s often difficult in summer, so we’d love to visit again in a different season someday!

Our First Visit to Ubud no Mori All of the staff were incredibly kind and spoke to our dog so warmly. Thanks to them, we felt welcomed and comfortable from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—we were more than satisfied!! We even got to enjoy the late-night soba, which made the evening even happier. Being able to relax and have such a wonderful time with our dog became a truly special memory for us. We would love to visit again! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Set in the historic Onsen town of Asama Onsen, this was an Accommodation that lets you enjoy not just “staying at an Accommodation,” but truly “staying in the town.” The map we received at check-in was wonderful, and with it in hand we used the Accommodation as our base to stroll around the Onsen town. Rather than everything being contained within the Accommodation, thoughtful touches make the entire town part of the journey—and even Asama Onsen’s gentle atmosphere became a cherished memory. The interior is refined yet relaxed, creating a comfortable space where you can unwind without pretense. The 24-hour book space is full of clever details that make even non-readers want to pick up a book. Our child was absorbed in the ball pit, and it felt like a place where both adults and children could enjoy their own time. The open-air bath in our room was excellent, but one of this Accommodation’s unique pleasures was taking a bucket and heading out to the public bath “Koyanagi-no-Yu.” The Onsen water is soft on the skin and warms you through to your core long after your soak—so soothing you’ll want to return again and again. Dinner was an immersive experience: watching the chef finish each dish right in front of us at the open kitchen while expertly working over a wood fire. The fragrant smokiness brought out each ingredient’s natural appeal, and every plate reflected careful craftsmanship. Centered on local ingredients, the cuisine isn’t about competing for extravagance—it values savoring this land’s climate and seasons with all five senses. It stayed with us as an experience you can only have here. The curated shop inside was also appealing. It carried Okubo Brewery seasonings used at dinner as well as Jiyujin original items, making souvenir shopping fun. We were happy to buy some granola we had at breakfast so we could relive a bit of our trip back home. The staff were warm and genuine; rather than excessive service, their unobtrusive support—being there exactly when needed—felt especially comfortable. More than for those seeking flashy luxury typical of an Onsen Ryokan, this is an Accommodation I’d recommend to anyone who wants “true richness” and who wants to enjoy staying itself while connecting with local culture. Above all, true to an Accommodation created by Jiyujin, we could feel throughout our stay their commitment not just to this single place but to carrying Asama Onsen as a whole into the future. Visiting with that context makes time spent here feel even more special. It’s an Accommodation that made us want to return in another season—to meet a different face of this town.

The welcome service offered plum wine, black vinegar, juice, sweets, and ice cream. We arrived early and were able to relax until dinner even after taking a bath. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and with free-flowing natural hot spring water, we could enjoy the Onsen anytime. The Room was excellent. The food was buffet-style, featuring local vegetables and specialties, along with many delicious dishes made with health in mind. I don’t often get the chance to visit Akita, but this is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to. Thank you very much.

On my first trip to Hiroshima, I stayed here first. The Room was clean, spacious, stylish, and very comfortable. All the food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were warm and welcoming, which made for a wonderful trip. I would definitely like to stay at this Accommodation again.

We stayed here for a pre-baby trip. The property was very clean, and the guidance from check-in to our Room was consistently courteous. We were able to spend our time comfortably from start to finish. Since I was pregnant, I had some dietary restrictions and ingredients I couldn’t eat, so we made several requests. They kindly accommodated everything thoroughly, which we truly appreciated. Every dish was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Onsen was also wonderful, and we were able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. We are really glad we chose this place for our pre-baby trip. It’s unfortunate that due to the age restriction we won’t be able to visit for a while after the baby is born, but we plan to recommend it to our parents and friends. We look forward to the day when we can visit again as a family.

Everything—from the meals and the Room to the amenities and hospitality—was outstanding, and we were completely satisfied with our stay! The open-air Onsen bath in the Room was incredibly convenient, as we could soak anytime we liked, and it felt wonderfully luxurious. Also, because this Accommodation has only 10 Rooms, we rarely crossed paths with other guests at “Owl no Yu,” so we could relax and enjoy the Onsen as if it were private. The kaiseki dinner was exquisite across the board. In particular, the miso-glazed eggplant (dengaku) and steamed eel rice left a lasting impression—they were truly delicious. You could really tell each dish was prepared with great care, and we enjoyed every bite to the very end. Breakfast was also excellent. It was my first time trying Nanban natto, and I liked it so much I wished I could take some home. The rolled omelet was fluffy and delicious as well. From the cuisine and Onsen to the Room—and above all, the heartfelt service from all of the staff—this was a wonderful Accommodation that satisfied us in every way. If you’d like to unwind in an Onsen while enjoying a drink and spend a relaxing holiday forgetting everyday fatigue, this is exactly the right place. We would love to visit again!

All of the staff were very pleasant. There was also a complimentary drinks area, which we enjoyed. The meals were especially delicious, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared with great attention to detail. The service staff’s explanations and hospitality were professional and excellent.
