I stayed at this Ryokan specifically to enjoy ayu, as it is famous for its ayu cuisine. At dinner, a wide variety of ayu dishes were served, and I thoroughly enjoyed more than 10 fish. The most delicious was the ayu rice; even though I was already full, I ended up having two bowls. The non-ayu dishes also looked excellent, so next time I plan to try dishes other than ayu. The proprietress, the attendants, and the head chef were all friendly, and I had a wonderful time. It was a pity that the bath was not an Onsen, but it was spacious enough for more than the number of guests staying there, so I could soak at leisure and ease my travel fatigue. As this is a historic culinary Ryokan, you can’t expect modern comforts; however, it is well maintained in its own way and offers a different kind of comfort from today’s luxury Ryokan. This Accommodation lets you experience the comfort of a traditional Japanese inn.

It was the best stay. The hospitality was better than any Hotel I have stayed at, and the staff were truly wonderful. We enjoyed hearing various stories during the Shuttle Service ride. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Room, amenities, and minibar. The view from the Room was absolutely breathtaking, and we were able to spend a truly happy day. Of course, the food was also very satisfying. The main dishes—venison and sweetfish—were incredibly delicious and made us want to come back again.

We stayed with two adults and two dogs. On the way there, our navigation system guided us on a detour and we arrived via a very narrow road, but after the staff explained the route, we found that if you exit onto the road right in front, you’re immediately on a main road and it’s very close to the Awaji Interchange—an excellent location. Our dogs had a great time running around both in the shared dog run Room and in the run. The complimentary drinks at the shared run were much appreciated. For dinner at Genpei, the anago (conger eel) hot pot and sashimi were outstanding, with generous portions—absolutely delicious (lol). In summer, most vacation rentals have lots of insects, but there were very few this time, which was great. Proper insect control measures are clearly in place. The staff were also wonderful and kindly helped us throughout—thank you very much. We’ll definitely come back again.

The moment we arrived, my first thought was, “This is even more like a love hotel than I imagined!” When we entered the building, we didn’t understand the system, so we called a staff member using the phone at the front desk. That was the only person we met during our one-night stay. The bathroom has a jacuzzi and a spacious washing area, and you can even watch movies on the TV. I’m usually picky about pillows, but the bed was very comfortable. The drinks in the fridge were cheaper than at other Hotels. The amenities were surprisingly luxurious for these days—the body towel felt great to use, the toothbrushes were good quality, and there was even a ReFa hair dryer plus a hair iron! For breakfast I chose the BLT sandwich; it was delicious and came with coffee. It’s easy to access by car, and places like Toshodaiji Temple and Horyuji Temple were close by for sightseeing the next day. The price was low so I had no expectations at all, but it exceeded them in a great way!! It honestly felt more all-inclusive than the all-inclusive Accommodation we stayed at the next day (lol). Checkout is easy too. If I have another chance, I’d love to stay here again.

Check-in is done in front of your Room. (Check-out was done at the front desk of the former Hotel.) I had a Multiple Night Stay, and due to availability I had to change Room types, but the staff moved my luggage for me. The first day’s Room was spacious and new, with a pleasant woody scent, making it very comfortable. The second day’s Room (main building) was a bit smaller, and having the bath and toilet together felt slightly cramped, but I liked being able to see hibiscus from the bedside window. Both the new wing and the main building are simple yet tasteful buildings that blend well with the island scenery. I had breakfast in the dining hall of the former Hotel, which felt nostalgic and reminded me of the Showa era. This is an Accommodation I’d like to visit again.

Although it was hot outside in summer, the Hotel Room felt fresh and comfortable. With a semi-open-air Onsen bath, we relaxed and toasted as a couple while looking out at the deep-blue sea with a cold canned beer in hand—it made us feel truly happy. We enjoyed the Onsen many times until around 10:30 a.m. the next morning. Since we are both over 60, we were able to stay at a discounted rate. For dinner, we went to the neighboring seafood market “Mushigamaya,” which is also highly recommended. The Hotel breakfast can be delivered to your Room; it was delicious and my wife was very pleased. We would like to stay again.

A two-day stay that felt like stepping into another world. Each room was beautifully furnished, with thoughtful touches that anticipated every need. The birds and insects singing in the garden, the soothing sound of water in the open-air bath, and above all, the chef’s warm hospitality and exceptional cuisine were truly outstanding. This is a wonderful auberge I would absolutely love to return to—and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

Although we often visit Kyoto on day trips, we decided to stay overnight for a change and used this Hotel as a family. We checked in early and planned to sightsee around the Hotel, but it was so comfortable that we didn’t go out and instead relaxed in our Room. The building, made with locally sourced timber, had a wonderful atmosphere, and the Room Facility was new and very pleasant. All of the Hotel staff were extremely helpful. Personally, I found the welcome sweets especially delicious. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay again.

A quiet setting, a clean Room with a great view, and above all, delicious meals made for a truly wonderful stay. I had the chance to speak with the owner at breakfast and could really feel the care and dedication they put into this place. They were such a lovely person, and I was truly glad I came. Thank you for a wonderful time!

We stayed with two families. We enjoyed a BBQ on the terrace while watching the sunset, and the private pool was stocked with life jackets, swim rings, and more—our kids were completely absorbed for hours. It was our nephew’s birthday, so we celebrated with a surprise cake and made wonderful memories. After the excited kids fell asleep, we lay back on the terrace chairs to gaze at the stars and enjoyed a luxurious adults-only time with drinks. The view from the Room was also fantastic. The sea was rough during our stay, so it was a rare and impressive sight to see huge waves crashing against the rocks and sending up massive sprays. We definitely want to stay again.

We stayed here for a girls’ trip. The atmosphere was even better than in the photos, and the room was stylish and refined. Time seemed to pass slowly, and we were able to enjoy a truly special stay! The female owner was wonderful, and we really appreciated all her help. I think it’s perfect for a chic girls’ getaway, a family trip, or traveling with grandparents. We definitely want to come again next year!

We stayed as a couple specifically for the host’s guided tour, and thanks to it we were able to make a very satisfying pilgrimage. Thank you very much. Without the guide, I don’t think we could have felt this level of satisfaction or fulfillment. At each key point, he gave careful explanations and taught us what kinds of prayers are appropriate for the deities enshrined there. That was extremely important for our visit. As for the Accommodation, since it is rented as an entire house, it felt just like staying at home. We truly felt at ease and were able to sleep soundly. Thank you for this wonderful connection and opportunity. We would also like to express our gratitude for the guidance of the deities of Ise Jingu Shrine.

I stayed here for my trip to Ishigaki Island. It’s conveniently located about halfway between the airport and downtown, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The room was a comfortable size and clean, and I also appreciated that the bathroom and toilet were separate. The front desk staff were friendly, and I would stay here again when visiting Ishigaki Island.

This was a truly wonderful place to stay, and it made our trip to Okinawa even more special. The room was very clean and beautifully maintained down to the smallest details, so we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. The bed was extremely comfortable as well, and we were able to fully recover from our travel fatigue. Our children also had a great time in the room, and as a family we kept saying, “We’re so glad we stayed here!” The nearby beach was absolutely beautiful, and we were able to enjoy stunning Okinawa scenery. At night, we were amazed by the star-filled sky stretching across the horizon. Being able to gaze at a night sky like that—something you rarely see in the city—became another precious family memory. From the cleanliness and comfort to the facilities and warm hospitality, everything was delightful. This is a place where you can truly feel glad you chose to stay. Our kids loved it too, so we would definitely like to stay here again when we visit Okinawa. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

I visited hoping to experience a European atmosphere, drawn by Tateshina’s location and the Hotel’s attention to detail that I had read about in advance. On my first trip to Tateshina, I was greeted by a deer as soon as I arrived, and I was thrilled by the rich nature and the refined resort-town feel. The Hotel interior felt so French it was almost surreal, and with so many beautiful paintings like an art museum, I could have spent hours finding a favorite. The Room hand soap was Diptyque, and even the amenities, magazines, and books featured colorful design that kept catching my eye. Local craft beer and soft drinks were included, and I was able to relax in the spacious Room and on the balcony. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and throughout my stay the staff welcomed me warmly with just the right sense of distance—our conversations were enjoyable, making for a very comfortable time. As others have mentioned, since it’s not easy to visit often, it might be nice if you offered souvenirs for sale that would serve as a keepsake of staying at such a wonderful Hotel. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.

I stayed for one night with my sister. The Room was very clean and well maintained, easy to use, and we enjoyed the in-Room bath many times (we even did laundry!). We had our meals at a charming traditional house restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. Everything was delicious, right up to the final sushi! Thanks to the warm hospitality, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. We also really enjoyed the snacks and gelato provided in the Room. We were blessed with great weather, making it a wonderful trip. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us—we will definitely be back!

I stayed on a windy day. Although I lit the fire in the outdoor fire pit, sparks were flying everywhere due to the wind, so I quickly put it out. The strong wind made it feel very cold, and I couldn't stay outside for long to tend to the fire, which was a bit disappointing. For the barbecue grill, we only grilled bread and sausages for breakfast. (When there was no sunlight, even this grilling task felt too cold as standing outside at night with the wind hitting my body was unbearable.) The sauna had already been preheated upon our arrival, so we could relax and use it right away—thank you! After enjoying the sauna, we also used the bath. The spacious bathroom and bathtub were very comfortable. The provided warm jacket-like garment kept us cozy—it was great! Additionally, we loved the indoor fireplace here. It’s surrounded by bricks with a wide opening. Watching the flames leisurely turned out to be more enjoyable than expected; in fact, it satisfied us more than using an outdoor fire pit. Due to our misunderstanding during research beforehand, we thought check-in would be contactless and arrived late without realizing that staff were waiting at the entrance for us—we panicked upon arrival when we realized this mistake. We sincerely apologize for that incident. In summer stays without fireplaces or stoves available elsewhere before this trip where accommodations were entirely contactless led us astray into assuming similar arrangements here too—but facilities like stoves/fireplaces/saunas often require initial face-to-face explanations regarding safety measures which indeed proved helpful during our first visit here! While subsequent visits might allow non-contact check-ins if feasible—it’s understandable either way depending on preferences. Regarding other aspects: unfortunately one ceiling-mounted BOSE speaker wasn’t functional despite inquiries via chat support; however alternative Bluetooth speakers indoors sufficed instead though slightly disappointing initially especially since someone accompanying me wanted testing them specifically but overall manageable workaround existed nonetheless thankfully! Lastly nearby surroundings exploration revealed missed opportunity discovering sausage vending machine shop selling unique spiral-shaped pork products located mere moments away driving distance-wise Thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our three-night stay. It was almost our first time visiting Shodoshima, so we truly appreciated the owner suggesting a sightseeing list in advance—it was wonderful. We were also very grateful that you kindly agreed to provide a Shuttle Service, which helped us a lot. For dinner on three evenings, you arranged Japanese cuisine, Italian food, and sushi, and we enjoyed every single meal!! We also had such a great time chatting with the chefs. Our favorite part each morning was the eggs laid by the chickens. On the third day, when we found an egg and picked it up, it was still warm and made us feel so happy. The chickens were very friendly and adorable; even after returning from sightseeing each day, we would say “We’re home!” and go check on them. We also loved the view of Mt. Goishiyama from the second floor. Going up and down the stairs was another fun part for us since we usually live in a barrier-free apartment building. Lastly, we were deeply moved by the owner’s personality and heartfelt hospitality. We truly feel there is a kind of hospitality that can only be experienced at this type of private rental Accommodation. My husband and I sincerely look forward to visiting again next time!!

I stayed here with my elderly mother. We used a universal Room, and it was very easy for her to use, so she seemed to enjoy staying overnight for the first time in a while. It was our first time using a universal Room, but we would be happy to stay again if we can book this Room. Thank you very much for your thoughtful support.

We stayed here for a family trip with relatives. It’s conveniently located right in front of the highway bus stop. It’s a bit far from central Hakodate, but it’s only about 15 minutes by bus. The Room was nice, and the seafood meals were especially outstanding—our older relatives were delighted. The bath had wonderful water and we really enjoyed it; they said they would definitely like to stay again. We felt it was the perfect place to relax and recover from fatigue. Thank you very much.
