During our mother-and-daughter trip to Kyoto to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, we had the pleasure of staying here. Although I have visited Kyoto many times, I wasn’t very familiar with this area and felt a bit uneasy at first. However, walking along the Shirakawa River lined with graceful willow trees was wonderfully soothing and brought me a deep sense of calm. The Accommodation blends quietly into the neighborhood, and from the lobby to the Room, everything is unified in a simple modern Japanese style—clean, uncluttered, and extremely comfortable. Perhaps each Room is decorated to match its name; in our Room called “Hotarubi,” there were firefly motifs on the wall, which felt beautifully tasteful. We stayed in a Superior Twin Room, and it was very spacious. The toilet area, bath/vanity area, and living space were all separated by partitions, creating a relaxed and luxurious layout—one of my favorite points. What my mother loved most was the generously sized hinoki cypress bath. She found the scent so calming that she enjoyed it two or three times. We were also deeply touched by your thoughtful 80th birthday message and bouquet. To everyone at Accommodation Akekure who welcomed us with warm hospitality from check-in to check-out: thank you for such a wonderful stay. Hearing my usually reserved mother say “I want to stay here again” made me truly happy as well. We would love to visit again!

I love hotel stays and have stayed at many Hotels across Japan, but this Hotel was exceptional. In particular, the views of Mt. Yotei from the Room and the large public bath, as well as the sea of clouds I saw from the rooftop early in the morning, were breathtaking. It seemed there were only a few guests during my stay, so I was able to use both the fitness gym and the large public bath almost privately. The gym had Pilates machines and state-of-the-art equipment, which made working out even better. The shampoo and conditioner in the large public bath had a lovely scent and were very relaxing. I was also happy that the hair dryer was a Dyson product. Breakfast was served as a set course with a choice of Japanese or Western options. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. During my stay I caused some trouble by accident, but every staff member responded with great kindness—thank you very much. Personally, I loved the Room’s color scheme and interior design; it really lifted my mood. If I visit Niseko again, I would definitely like to stay here again.

Just steps away from Yunotsubo Kaido, yet offering a serene view of rice fields and Mount Yufu in the back, this accommodation provides a truly relaxing experience. The private onsen in the room is accessible anytime, ensuring a quiet and uninterrupted stay. Equipped with essentials like a microwave, plates, bottle opener, and chopsticks, everything you need is readily available. Considering the location and having an onsen in the room at Yufuin, this accommodation offers exceptional value.

The timing for clearing the dishes was very poor. Although I had informed you of my buckwheat allergy, it was very disappointing that you still tried to serve buckwheat. The food was very delicious and excellent. Thank you very much.

The view of the calm Seto Inland Sea was breathtaking. Having a golf course right in front added excitement as I imagined playing the next day. Above all, I deeply appreciate the staff's kindness in bringing my husband's forgotten valuables to the station. We are truly grateful for your help and apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will definitely visit again!

We stayed at the accommodation for the first time to celebrate our couple's 60th birthday. Thank you very much for your hospitality. The facility was clean, the food was delicious, and we were able to relax. Although it was a bit of a distance to Toshogu Shrine, we enjoyed walking while admiring the beautiful autumn leaves and stopping by shops along the approach. It is conveniently located near Tobu Nikko Station, making it ideal for those arriving by Spacia train. Additionally, we were deeply impressed by the impeccable hospitality of the hostess at the front desk.

If you're visiting Kyoto and prefer staying at a Ryokan instead of a Hotel, you might want to consider an even more luxurious experience at this Accommodation. Upon arrival, you'll be awed by the grand gate of Kinkakuji Temple. Walking through the wooden door and along the gravel path in the front garden feels like stepping into another world, far removed from everyday life. In addition to clean, modern Japanese-style rooms with new facilities akin to those of a high-end Ryokan, you can enjoy exclusive access to a beautiful garden surrounded by nature. Although it's called "Shukubo," it is open to everyone and allows for casual participation in comfortable attire. The resident monk and his wife are incredibly friendly as well. This Accommodation offers an affordable yet luxurious experience comparable to that of high-end Ryokans. Memorable activities include making bracelets with natural stones, enjoying Shojin Ryori (traditional Buddhist vegetarian breakfast), and participating in morning prayers—all adding up to an unforgettable stay.

We stayed at a villa for our trip to Okinawa with friends. The accommodation was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making our stay very enjoyable. When we opened the large windows in the living room, there was a garden with an ocean view. In the mornings, we enjoyed yoga and radio exercises by opening the windows. The beach was just steps away from the garden, where we watched beautiful sunrises and collected seashells and coral. It was such a wonderful trip to Okinawa! We would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

I stayed with my brother's family. The Room had two bedrooms and one tatami room, and one of the tatami rooms and bedrooms was a connecting room separated by a door, so we could watch over the children sleeping alone with peace of mind. Additionally, there was a jacuzzi on the terrace, and although we used it on the coldest day in December, the children were having a great time with maximum excitement (laughs). The living room on the second floor was spacious, and even with eight people, it didn't feel cramped, allowing us to have an enjoyable time. Also, it was convenient to have bathrooms and toilets on both the first and second floors. Personally, the most helpful feature was having a washing machine and dryer. The gas dryer, in particular, was very convenient as it allowed us to quickly take care of the children's clothes without taking much time. Basic appliances were provided, but since there were no pajamas, it might be a good idea to bring your own (as indicated on the site). The surroundings were quite empty, and although it was along the road, we were able to spend our time relatively quietly, allowing the adults to relax while the children had a great time playing on the terrace and in the spacious living room. My brother's family also expressed their gratitude, so I was glad we stayed. Since it can accommodate a large group, I would like to use it again if the opportunity arises.

We chose this vacation house in the Maoi area of Naganuma Town to get away from the city noise, relax in nature, and recharge. It had already been featured by various people on YouTube, so it fully lived up to our expectations. All we could hear were birdsong, insects, and the wind. Just watching the sky change—from sunset to twilight, a sky full of stars, and then dawn—made all our worries fade away. We stayed at Maoiq konfort, designed around a Scandinavian interior concept. The Louis Poulsen pendant lights in the double-height space were beautiful as they reflected again and again in the glass against the sunset sky. For me, unlike a Hotel stay, there’s simply no alternative to a vacation house where you can spend time privately and peacefully without anyone disturbing you—so I don’t mind a small difference in cost. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. Below are a few points that I felt would make it even better, from my perspective working in architecture and interiors: I would have liked an interior roller blind since the entrance door is glass. Similarly, vertical blinds on the living-room windows facing the double-height space would be helpful. It would be best if there were dimmer circuits for the lighting switches. I’d prefer outlets by the bed to be on the center side; there was nowhere convenient to place my phone while charging. The bedside light is positioned too high and falls into your line of sight when lying down. If Scandinavian design is truly the concept, I’d like to see floor or table lamps added. I wanted lower-level lighting overall. (Downlights on the double-height ceiling don’t feel necessary.) To enjoy stargazing at night, I wanted an on/off switch for the lighting that illuminates the white birch trunks across from the terrace. A luggage rack would be appreciated—I didn’t want to bring dirty suitcase wheels indoors.

It was my first time in Hakodate. The location is very convenient, with many restaurants and the morning market nearby, making it easy to stay even without meals included. The Room was very spacious, and as a tall person, I felt extremely comfortable. The Room also had cutlery available, so we could reheat the "Yakitori Bento" we wanted to try using the microwave provided in the Room, plate it nicely, and share it between two people. I also appreciated the thoughtful gesture of warming up the Room before check-in. Highly recommended condominium!

I always stay here when visiting my husband's family home. The place is always very clean, and I can relax comfortably. I will definitely come back again. Thank you very much!

My friend loves architecture, so we stayed here. The Room and garden were beautiful, and it was a wonderful space to relax while enjoying the view. At check-in, they kindly explained the building in detail, which made it a great experience. Rather than a Ryokan, it truly feels like staying in an “old house” just as it is. For two people, the large hall felt a bit too spacious and slightly unsettling, so I think this house would be even more enjoyable with a larger group. Thank you for this valuable experience!

Stayed for 3 nights with 5 adults. The facility had 5 beds, providing a comfortable and spacious stay. The beds were on the softer side. Conveniently located near Euglena Mall and just a 13-minute walk to Ishigaki Port, making it ideal for staying in the city center. A convenience store is nearby, making it easy to grab breakfast. We stayed during an unusually cold New Year's period for Ishigaki Island but remained comfortable thanks to two large air conditioners. The staff was kind and showed great care for the facility. We had a wonderful time—thank you!

My second stay in four years, and it was another wonderful experience. The Facility was just as spotless as last time, and you can really feel the staff’s careful daily work. We drove around to shop for local Hakuba vegetables, locally raised pork, and Shinshu sake, then had our accompanying chef cook for us. Absolutely the best. Check-in/out is contactless, but the service quality truly lives up to the word “hospitality,” such as having fresh towels prepared on the second day. Having four toilets and three shower rooms (two with bathtubs) is also something you’d expect from a Hakuba Accommodation shaped by skiers—very much appreciated. Spending time with friends over drinks, deepening our bonds, and talking about the future—if you can arrange a car and a chef, summer in Hakuba is unbeatable. If I had one request: stronger Wi‑Fi. A bit more speed would make online meetings even easier. That said, there’s no doubt this is an Accommodation I want to add to my regular rotation. We also visited Kurobe Dam. It’s less than an hour by car to Ogizawa Parking Lot, so it’s definitely a great sightseeing option.

Two families with kids stayed for two nights. The terrace and lawn, where you can have the breathtaking satoyama views all to yourself, were simply incredible—we felt refreshed far beyond what two nights would normally allow. We’ve stayed at many private rental homes, but it was rare (and greatly appreciated) to find information about an on-site private chef on the property’s own website—it was the deciding factor for our Reservation. Being able to enjoy a meal in such a wonderful setting, combined with perfect weather, made this an unforgettable stay. Having access to a fire pit was also fantastic. The hill is indeed steep in parts (like some roads in Izu or Shimoda), but the steep section is short, and driving a typical sedan didn’t feel overly stressful. (It might be different with a wider or longer vehicle like a Jeep or van.) As for insects: I’m someone who can’t even stand seeing roaches and can’t clean up after them—but other than pests, bugs don’t bother me—so it didn’t concern me at all. We did use insect spray at times (I would have left them alone, but one of our friends dislikes bugs), and it was a freezing-type spray rather than one with insecticidal chemicals, which was another big plus. The interior was clean and comfortable, and we also liked how much storage there was in the bedrooms. Since it’s a traditional old house, the walls are thin (voices from the living room or tatami room carry into the bedrooms), and laying out futons in the tatami room is self-service. The kitchen equipment, plates, and wine glasses were well stocked in both variety and quantity. In addition to basic seasonings, it was convenient that leftover condiments from previous guests were kept in the refrigerator as-is. On the other hand, there’s no dishwasher; also, kitchen ventilation wasn’t great for our taste, and we found the dining area size/atmosphere—and especially the lighting—a bit too bright. Still, none of that compares to this one-of-a-kind location and how wonderful the terrace and garden feel.

I stayed for three nights. During the day, I enjoyed looking at the sea, swimming in the pool, and relaxing in the Room. At night, I was soothed by the starry sky. Although the pool lights remained on at night and made it a bit hard to see clearly, I was still amazed by the breathtaking view of a star-filled sky with even the Milky Way visible. The large windows reaching up to the ceiling offered a stunning view of Miyako's beautiful sea. The Room felt spacious and open; despite being fully booked during my stay, it was quiet throughout (which was great since some Reviews mentioned noise from other guests). The barbecue dinner was delicious, and having complimentary drinks in the refrigerator replenished daily was greatly appreciated!

It was a truly wonderful Accommodation. We stayed with seven people in total—our family of five plus my parents. The moment we stepped into the Room, a soft, pleasant fragrance seemed to drift from somewhere, and the entire property was spotless and impeccably clean, making our stay extremely comfortable. Even though we never met in person, the thoughtful touches throughout the Accommodation conveyed such warm hospitality. The refrigerator had not only bottled water for each guest but also several juices, and there were coffee beans and herbal tea as well—an excellent selection of drinks alone. From amenities like skincare products to the provided plates, cups, and other tableware, appliances, bathwater volume, and even the toilet paper—every detail reflected careful consideration. Among all the private whole-house rentals we’ve stayed in so far, this one was especially memorable. The kids had a blast playing hide-and-seek inside and enjoying the view from the garden. My spouse and I—and my parents as well—were able to forget everyday life and spend a relaxing time together. Our whole family truly unwound while enjoying a wonderful stay. It’s an Accommodation we would absolutely love to stay at again.

This Accommodation had a calm, relaxing atmosphere that blended seamlessly into Tsuwano’s quiet streetscape. The building, renovated from a sake brewery, has plenty of character, while the interior is refined and very comfortable. The hospitality was warm as well, and we were able to spend a slow and pleasant time here. It’s a wonderful Accommodation where you can fully experience Tsuwano’s charm while enjoying an escape from everyday life. Thank you to the gentleman at the front desk—thanks to you, we truly enjoyed Tsuwano to the fullest.

This was our third stay at Roof Yureya. No matter how many times we visit, the warm hospitality never changes, and it truly puts us at ease. The staff’s sense of distance is just right, and it feels so comforting—like coming home. Above all, the greatest charm is being able to spend plenty of “family time” that you could never experience at a Hotel. Instead of splitting up into separate Rooms, we can gather around the irori hearth, relax on the veranda, take a bath whenever we like, and enjoy the sauna or fireworks whenever we want. It’s a truly luxurious space where conversation naturally flows. We also appreciated being able to leave meals to the staff, which helped us forget the busyness of everyday life and spend unhurried time together as a family once again. We’d love to visit again in another season. Thank you as always for such a wonderful stay.
