The Hotel is in a great location, and the Room was very spacious, making our stay comfortable. Akita Station is also nearby, and the Akita Citizen’s Market, where you can shop, is just a short walk away, which made our stay enjoyable. If we have the opportunity, we would definitely like to stay at this Hotel again.

I had wanted, at least once, to step into “Salon Yamasato,” the private lobby lounge of Koshinosato—I've felt that way for the past 10 years. As we reached our 60th birthdays as a couple, we decided to make a Reservation and treat ourselves at this milestone. We truly loved the cuisine, amenities, and atmosphere. I was deeply impressed by the high-quality meals—it was an Accommodation with impeccable hospitality in every way. Also, the macarons and gelato at Kaho’s salon were absolutely top-class delicious—I couldn’t stop eating them. The flavor stayed with me, and I kept wondering what brand they were. It made me strongly want to come back again. Thank you very much. The concierge staff were also incredibly kind—simply wonderful.

Until now I had always chosen Old Karuizawa, but this was my first stay at Mikage Yosui. 1. Service: As always, very dog-friendly. Not only are the staff wonderful, but communication among guests also feels natural and pleasant. 2. Dining: The French dinner is thoughtfully composed—for example, the appetizer salad combines fresh vegetables with dried fruit for a great change in texture. The French toast available to order separately at breakfast is outstanding. The yogurt is so delicious you’ll want to order it again for home delivery. The freshly baked bread is also excellent. 3. Facilities: Aside from the private garden, the rooms feel simple, with a similar layout and orientation. Because everything is tiled, even if a previous guest’s dog had an accident, odors don’t linger and it doesn’t bother you. As other reviews mention, access to the waterway and the parking area is convenient as well. At the Old Karuizawa property there is heavy traffic on the road in front, so you need to be careful when walking your dog; here you can stroll along the waterway instead. Unfortunately it rained that day, but with light rain there’s an advantage—the trees help keep you from getting wet. Overall, this is a well-balanced property that I highly recommend.

We stayed here on a three-generation family trip. They even lent us a wheelchair for my mother, who has difficulty walking, and the staff member in charge was incredibly kind. Our whole family became a fan of them. (Thank you very much.) The hospitality was outstanding, and the baths were very clean. We were able to relax at our own pace. Every dish was delicious, and perhaps because all meals are served in-room or in private dining rooms, we hardly ran into other guests in the building. It was quiet and very comfortable. The Scandinavian chairs, reading materials, and small decorative items placed throughout the property were wonderful as well—the sense of style is truly exceptional. It’s an inn that makes you want to come back. We would love to visit again in a different season.

The view from the Room was wonderful, and the meals were delicious—everything was excellent. If I had to mention one thing, I would have liked a little more time to use the bath at a relaxed pace. I will visit again in a different season. Thank you for your hospitality.

We had a truly wonderful time. Thank you for celebrating my birthday as well—it made me very happy and became a great memory. All of the food was delicious, and my husband was impressed too. I’m glad we were able to use the Mirabelle and Repronizer amenities. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, making our stay comfortable and fun. The only disappointment was that we couldn’t see the sunrise because of the rain—but we’ll look forward to next time! Thank you very much for such a lovely time!

This was my first stay. It was quiet and very relaxing. The room was wonderful, and the meals were excellent. I enjoyed them at a leisurely pace in my room. The furnishings on display are beautiful—it feels like a museum. I also appreciated being shown another room. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

We had a wonderful time in a very clean room with excellent facilities. The meal was also delicious—a meat-themed kaiseki course that felt refreshingly different from typical ryokan cuisine. The location, in the Higashiyama area, was another highlight, making it easy to explore around Kiyomizu-dera in the morning.

The beach was right in front of us, and from the rooftop Onsen pool we had a panoramic view over Karatsu city. We were welcomed with a cake, and there were also sweets in our Room, plus a whole lineup of ice cream before the bath. The breakfast buffet was so plentiful we couldn’t finish it, with an excellent selection of desserts as well. As expected from Chateraise—I wished we could have stayed one more night.

All staff are kind and welcoming, and the “welcome home” atmosphere feels wonderfully comforting. Dinner and breakfast are both delicious. You can fully enjoy the luxury of having the view from the open-air bath in your Room all to yourself. I would love to visit again.

It was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Fresh flowers were beautifully arranged throughout the building, everything was spotless, and the lounge offerings—drinks and sweets—were excellent. The breakfast mochi was also outstanding! It was a lovely Accommodation that left our whole family very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Station, the view from the Room was great, with Dogo Onsen Honkan and Matsuyama Castle visible. The window glass had a pattern, so it would have been even better if it were completely clear. The Room was clean and comfortable, with a nice sense of cleanliness. The large public bath on the top floor was also very relaxing, and I especially recommend the open-air bath! We used the buffet for both breakfast and dinner, and there were many local dishes and unique items—everything was delicious. Dinner was a half-buffet, but we were very full, so I thought it would be nice to have a Plan with buffet only (it may already exist...). Also, I’d be happy if there were mandarin orange juice at breakfast! It was also great to have live piano music in the evening.

This was my second stay. As before, the hotel had a calm atmosphere and the breakfast was delicious, so I was very satisfied. The bed was large, and my wife and I were able to sleep comfortably. The location is directly connected to the station with easy access to central Tokyo, and I would like to stay here again in the future.

I chose this Accommodation for my boyfriend, who loves saunas. I don’t know much about saunas, but he seemed completely satisfied and kept saying, “The best! The best!”—which made me happy too. Relaxing while listening to the natural soundtrack of the gorge and flowing river was wonderful. We said goodbye to the Accommodation, promising to come back again.

Although I had made reservations several times before, I never had the chance to stay until this visit. The Cerulean Lounge was a wonderful space with a refined Japanese atmosphere, and I loved the wide selection of individually wrapped sweets. I was also able to enjoy matcha at a relaxed pace and had a lovely time. I had breakfast at “Sakuragaoka.” Everything was delicious, especially the rice cooked in a traditional kiln and the grilled fish. Thank you as well for accommodating my allergies.

We truly enjoyed the delicious meals at both breakfast and dinner. The bath was also very comfortable. The ocean view from our Room and from the large public bath was especially beautiful and memorable. By chance, we were able to see fireworks, which delighted our granddaughter. We were able to relax in a clean room with a great view. It was a hotel with excellent hospitality, and thoughtful touches could be felt throughout. It was our first time on Kouri Island, and we’re glad we stayed here. Thank you to all the staff.

This was my first stay at NIPPONIA Chichibu Monzenmachi, and I stayed in MARUJU Building Room 102. Room 102 is a maisonette-style guest room created by converting an entire kura storehouse, so I had been genuinely excited even before arriving. When I arrived, I was welcomed with warm smiles and excellent service from the staff, and check-in was accompanied by explanations of the property’s history and unique features. I was then shown to Room 102. The door wasn’t new—it was the original one from when it was a storehouse—so I felt excited even before stepping inside. When I opened it with high expectations, what awaited me was an extraordinary space unlike anything I’d experienced before. With its open atrium design, the first floor is a living area; climbing the original ladder from the storehouse era leads to the second-floor bedroom. It’s such a spacious room that it feels like it could be two separate rooms across two levels. The beams and walls from the original kura have been preserved as much as possible, beautifully blending past and present into a nostalgic atmosphere. The hinoki cypress bath I had been looking forward to was larger—and deeper—than expected. Even before filling it, the pleasant scent of hinoki filled the bathroom; once hot water was added, the fragrance became even richer, making it wonderfully enjoyable even without hot spring water. Dinner exceeded my expectations—from appetizers to main course to dessert—everything was truly delicious. You could also feel great attention paid not only to plating but also to the tableware used for each dish. The course featured plenty of locally sourced ingredients. Of course both venison and river fish were excellent, but what surprised me most were the creative ways they brought out incredible flavor in local vegetables and how outstanding each sauce tasted. It’s hard to describe properly from appetizer through main course, but none of the dishes could be fully imagined just by looking at them—and every bite came with a delightful surprise. Breakfast offered a complete change of pace: traditional Japanese cuisine. The assortment of small side dishes with varied flavors and an old-fashioned miso soup were exceptional. As you’d expect from a renovated traditional house hotel, it had an abundance of nostalgic charm while still being impeccably clean. Combined with outstanding food and genuinely hospitable staff, this made for an extremely satisfying trip to Chichibu.

During Silver Week, we planned a trip with Lake Shikotsu on the first day and Sapporo on the second. We rented a car at New Chitose Airport on day one and enjoyed Hokkaido to the fullest on a driving tour. We were very satisfied with the all-inclusive stay at Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Besso Ao no Za—the staff’s hospitality, the meals, and the in-room open-air bath were all excellent. Next time, we plan to stay at Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Besso Ao no Za for both nights and do day-trip drives to Sapporo, Tomakomai, and other areas. Thank you again.
