I stayed here with my sons when they came home for the Obon holidays. Both the lobby and the salon were solid, elegant, and wonderful. From our Room window we could see the river and the sea, and we spent a relaxing time watching the sunset. Dinner was luxurious and delicious, but for me—now over 70—the portions were a bit too large. They asked how much of the finishing sea bream ochazuke we wanted, and I was surprised when my sons chose extra-large servings. The pudding was as delicious as ever, so I enjoyed it easily as a separate dessert stomach. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

The town itself isn’t very large, but the street where the Accommodation is located has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere—perfect for anyone who wants to slow down and unwind. The bath is amazing. Even during the hottest time of year in the city, it’s a bit cooler here, and in the morning you can open the window and let in a refreshing breeze. Not only the bath, but also the wooden building was wonderful—the gentle scent of wood as you move around felt incredibly soothing.

We stayed here as a couple in August. It was very reasonably priced, yet everything was excellent overall. The meal included wagyu beef grilled on a ceramic plate, and even if it was cooked a bit too long, it was still very tender. The other dishes were also delicious. The portions were generous, and we were completely satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. The staff were friendly, and the building was clean. We’d love to use the bath again. If we have the chance, we would definitely stay again, and we would recommend it to others as well.

We stayed here to watch the Super Formula race in Motegi and to explore the surrounding area. The Facility was new, and we were very satisfied with the Onsen and breakfast. We were also soothed by Cocoa-chan’s warm welcome, and had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

We stayed as a family. The Room is equipped with a kitchen and microwave, so we were able to stay comfortably even with small children. Baby items can also be borrowed by asking the front desk. We would like to stay again and highly recommend it.

This was a Hotel I had always wanted to visit. The interior had a calm atmosphere, like a Relais & Châteaux in the European countryside. The library’s book selection and the décor suited my taste, and after working up a sweat in the Onsen, I was able to relax and enjoy reading at leisure. The restaurant had an unpretentious feel, and the staff’s understated yet attentive service was very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed local seafood and mountain produce from the Goto Islands. The optional breakfast menu was also excellent, and being able to add items for free is a great value. Although it rained throughout our trip to the Goto Islands this time, I took it as an opportunity to come back again, and I look forward to staying with you at Margherita again.

We stayed with three couples we know. The Room was spacious and clean, earning high marks. The bath was a proper Onsen. Because of the rain, the outdoor bath temperature was a little lukewarm, but once you soak in it, you warm up nicely. The sound of the clear stream in front was soothing, and it felt like being surrounded by negative ions. At dinner, the appetizer course in particular was delicious—delicate and enjoyable with a variety of flavors. It alone pairs well with plenty of drinks. The meal portions were very generous, and we couldn’t finish the final rice dish. I recommend arriving hungry. Breakfast rice was also delicious and very satisfying. The staff were attentive and greeted us with warm smiles. The Accommodation isn’t large, but it offers great hospitality and tasty meals, so I think it’s excellent value for money. Since it’s right by the river, we felt it’s an Accommodation where you can relax while listening to the clear stream. It’s an Accommodation I would recommend to other friends as well. We’d love to visit again.

We stayed with two adults and one baby to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I gave birth about a year ago, so this was our first trip in quite a while as a couple—and our baby’s very first trip. We weren’t focused on sightseeing; we wanted to enjoy the Accommodation itself. We looked for a private open-air bath in the Room, in-room breakfast and dinner, and a baby-friendly place, compared options through Reviews, and chose Bettei KURO. We traveled by train and used the Shuttle Service from Futo Station. The Room was spacious and lovely, with the warmth of wood. We were happy to find cute baby toys and bedding neatly set up in the Room. Having wipes and a bottle-washing set also helped us pack lighter. Even if our baby cried, we didn’t have to worry about other guests, so our whole family could truly relax. The Onsen wasn’t too hot, so we could bathe together with our baby. (They manage the temperature, and said it can be adjusted if you ask the front desk.) Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious and delicious. We hadn’t mentioned in advance that we wanted non-alcoholic drinks for both of us, so my husband’s aperitif came with alcohol at first—but when we told them on the spot, they changed it immediately. We didn’t request an extra cake because we thought we’d be full, but there was a “Happy Birthday” message on the dessert plate. They said they prepared it based on the purpose noted at Reservation (birthday). We felt many thoughtful touches like this throughout our stay, which made us feel it’s a wonderful Accommodation. It was also a great memory being able to see the ocean and stars so clearly. We’re really glad we chose this place for our long-awaited trip.

This was our second stay, following last year. Spacious and comfortable—our 7- and 5-year-old kids were thrilled and kept saying, “This place is the best!” Last year breakfast was Japanese-style, but this time it was Western-style, which seemed easier for the kids to enjoy.

This was my first time staying in a villa on a trip to Karuizawa! It’s an Accommodation I’d recommend if you want a truly out-of-the-ordinary getaway. We stayed in a private rental villa, and the moment we stepped into the Room, we were excited by the stylish space filled with the warmth of wood. There was an outdoor living area and a fireplace. Lighting the fireplace cost extra (1,100 yen), but it added such a chic touch. There was also a theater room and even a hammock, so there’s plenty to enjoy indoors as well. The Facilities were well equipped, with a kitchen and BBQ area—perfect for anyone who wants to relax and spend quality time with friends or family. The surroundings were quiet and immersed in nature, making both the morning air and nighttime atmosphere absolutely wonderful. The staff were courteous, and we felt comfortable from check-in onward. Everything was clean, and it felt like even the smallest details were well maintained. We chose this place because many Reviews mentioned how comfortable and clean the Facilities are—and that they wanted to return—so we’re glad we did. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a luxurious stay in Karuizawa that’s different from an ordinary Hotel.

It was my first time back in Ube City in a very long while, and the town has completely changed, but I was truly moved that the Hotel was still there just as before. The building is understandably old, but in return, the staff’s kind service and the wide variety and abundance at breakfast were wonderful. (I was happy to see kawara soba again—it brought back memories.) I met my friend at the restaurant next door, and I was glad to receive a discount as a guest privilege. Thank you for taking care of me.

It was a wonderful trip that let us enjoy an extraordinary escape. The Ryokan was charming and full of character. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were completely satisfied. We are truly grateful to the proprietress and everyone for their hospitality. Thank you very much. The soba with freshly grated wasabi was the best!

I stayed here with my elderly mother and my brother. We felt thoughtful attention to detail throughout the Ryokan, and enjoyed warm hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. The bath had a wonderful traditional ambiance, and the meals were very delicious. Next time, I would like to return with my wife.

The building itself looks a bit old, but the interior has been renovated and is very clean. There is a great selection of amenities you can choose and take with you, and the in-room items are also very useful (a makeup mirror, charging cables, etc.). The Room key is a physical key, not a card. The breakfast you can choose the day before is delicious, and even the side salad uses colorful vegetables—better than what you’d expect from a Business Hotel breakfast. I stay here a few times a year, but Rooms are sometimes unavailable, so I make my Reservation early. I’ll be back again.

I could tell there were thoughtful touches throughout, with comfort and convenience well considered. What impressed me most was the breakfast—especially the spice curry and croissants. The Room also has a private Onsen bath, and there are four private baths as well—an impressive level of facilities for a pension. The meals offered many dishes, were beautifully colorful, and were very satisfying. We felt thoughtful attention to detail throughout. This is an Accommodation we’d like to return to. We requested an after-bath beer at check-in; we probably should have put it in the refrigerator. It would have been nice to have local craft beer, and we only realized later that we could exchange the in-house wear size, so we rated it 4—but overall it’s basically all 5s. We could also see Lake Inawashiro from the Room.

It was my first time using the lounge, and the food was excellent as expected. I felt completely satisfied, both physically and mentally. Above all, the bed on the Zen floor was perfect for me, making my stay at the Hotel even more enjoyable. The bottled amenities in the Room were also easy to use. Thank you very much to all the staff for your courteous service.

We stayed with my elderly parents, my wife, and my daughter—five of us in two Rooms. Our Rooms were on the top (9th) floor, each with a private open-air Onsen bath, and there was also an excellent massage chair in the Room. There are two large public baths, and they alternate between men and women each day, so even with a one-night stay we were able to enjoy both Onsens with different atmospheres. The bath on the 6th floor had an infinity-like feel, while the one on the 5th floor was soothing thanks to the look and sound of a waterfall. The dining was truly outstanding. It’s buffet-style so you can choose what you like, but there’s a wide selection and every dish is high quality—the best buffet restaurant we’ve experienced. The beef steak, likely the main dish, was so tender it could be cut easily just by chewing, and the grilled shrimp—another highlight—was finished right in front of us with a burner for an extra touch of luxury. My elderly parents had recently been saying they felt anxious about traveling due to their stamina, but even on our way home from Ten-yu they were already saying, “Let’s stay again next year.” It quickly became their favorite Hotel! If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate—make a Reservation and enjoy an amazing experience.

We stayed for one night on a trip to visit Toba Aquarium. The view from the lounge just inside the entrance was truly breathtaking. The sea stretches beautifully to every corner of your sight, and your eyes are drawn to Mitsushima Island floating in the center. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and everything was delicious—we enjoyed as much as we could. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy, so we would love to return at a different time of year.

This time, the meals were upgraded. It’s not like the all-inclusive plans at luxury Accommodations, but it’s just right. Everything feels just right. From the quality of the Onsen I love, to the place being old yet always kept clean and tidy, and how I never get bored no matter how many times I visit or how long I stay. I don’t know why I love it this much, but I’ll be back!
