It was closer to the station and the outlet mall than expected. We originally planned to cycle to Old Karuizawa Ginza Street and Kumoba Pond, but it was within an easy walking distance while browsing shops along the way. The pension’s bath was spacious with plenty of hot water, so we could stretch out and relax—it felt wonderful. Thanks to the bath, even though we walked a lot, we didn’t feel tired the next day. The bed (narrow and firm) wasn’t very comfortable, but otherwise we were satisfied. Also, all of the staff were very pleasant and left a great impression. Good value for money and highly recommended.

At the entrance, we were welcomed by motifs of Tentoki and Ryutoki. The stone garden “Yusentei,” Aizen Garden, and Tosentei were wonderful after the rain. The Onsen was natural, but unfortunately the open-air bath was too dark to see well. The carbonate spring bath was out of order and could not be used. The shojin-ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) was very delicious. The morning service was easy to join, which was nice. What was disappointing was that some guests speaking Chinese did not bring towels into the bath at all; they then left without drying off, leaving the floor soaked. They also brought canned beer and similar drinks into the shojin-ryori meal area to drink. In addition, they talked loudly on their phones with friends while using the Wi-Fi for a long time and seemed to take up most of the bandwidth, so it could not be used properly. The staff’s response was good; even if they were not Japanese, there were no problems as long as you spoke with them. Finally, I was surprised that the Room key is secured from inside with a simple latch/bolt. In terms of security, it felt like self-management is expected.

This Onsen Accommodation is tucked away in the mountains, a short distance from the center of Shima Onsen. Although I hadn’t made a Reservation, they kindly provided Shuttle Service, which was a big help since walking in the extreme heat would have been tough. There are three private-use baths on the first floor. You can use them anytime if available, and you can also check availability online, which is very convenient. The refrigerator had chilled water inside—a nice touch. Drinks can be purchased from the refrigerator on the first floor. There is also one massage chair. The bath amenities were exceptionally well stocked—possibly the best I’ve ever seen—not only shampoo and conditioner, but also shaving foam and facial cleanser, with a wide variety of options. With three baths for a relatively small number of rooms, it felt like they were available whenever I wanted. Because it’s free-flowing natural hot spring water (kakenagashi), I could even bathe late at night. Being able to soak without worrying about others was wonderful. Compared to the Ryokan’s exterior, the dining area was chic, clean, and newly built. The food was delicious and I was very satisfied. I traveled by train and bus, so limited service frequency is a drawback—but aside from that, this is an outstanding Accommodation.

It would be even better if there were a large public bath. A unit bath is a bit… But it’s been helpful.

It’s practically right in front of the station, making travel by train very easy. For the price, the Room is spacious enough and more than sufficient for business stays. Shopping is convenient at the station building on the first floor and at nearby convenience stores. A microwave is available in the lobby. The front desk staff have a lot of character.

Shuttle Service, two meals, a towel, and one drink were included for around 10,000 yen. It was very reasonable, close to the sea, and the view from the Room was fantastic. There are also sightseeing spots like the Anmo Observatory, which made the experience excellent. I would love to visit again.

We stayed at this accommodation because my wife and I love baths, and we were excited to stay at a place with a unique bath and ocean view! The room with an ocean view was stylishly decorated in a tropical style. It was impeccably clean, giving off a very fresh feeling. The view of the ocean from the room was stunning—an unbeatable location! The cypress-scented bathtub with high-quality hot spring water left both my wife and me completely satisfied. On that chilly day, it warmed us up perfectly. We chose the dinner-included plan, which featured sashimi served on a boat platter, domestic beef steak, and beef stew—all of which were delicious. The beef stew was exceptional! I was especially impressed by the texture of the sauce and the tenderness of the meat—it rivaled or even surpassed my favorite Imperial Hotel's beef stew! The breakfast, including freshly baked bread and scrambled eggs, was also delightful. The friendly owner made our stay comfortable and worry-free. This is definitely an accommodation we would love to visit again!

I think this Accommodation offers excellent value. I expected the Facilities to be old, but that wasn’t the case—they were very well maintained and clean. If I visit Nara City again, I will stay here again.

The Japanese-style Room was spacious and clean, allowing us to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. The Onsen was excellent—at first it felt a little mild, but after soaking for about 10 minutes, my body warmed up and I could truly unwind.

It seems like an apartment converted into a Hotel. The space was very spacious, and the cleanliness was perfect. With a refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, and kitchen, it felt just like being at home. The mattress on the bed was firm, allowing for a comfortable sleep without straining my back. It's relatively close to the airport, so I would love to stay here again! (Only giving 4 stars because the bathroom only had a shower.)

From the hostess’s warm welcome to the stunning third-floor Room and terrace with exceptional views. The Room has windows on three sides. Open the door and you’re greeted by a view of Cape Shionomisaki. A terrace where you can enjoy both sunset and sunrise. Every dish was delicious—we ordered two servings each of the meat course and the fish course, and ended up overeating. I was a bit surprised that access to the Room was via an outdoor staircase I hadn’t expected, but once you come down the stairs, Cape Shionomisaki is right in front of you. If it had been raining, getting around might have been tough, but luckily the rain from the previous day had cleared, temperatures rose, and my mood soared too. The bath is not an Onsen, but while it shows its age, it was clean and felt well maintained. Another thing I loved was the “duvet cover.” It felt so nice that I want to find one for home—I wish I’d asked what brand it was. The Room itself was so comfortable, and it was great to just zone out while gently swaying in the hammock.

A village nestled in a quiet villa area of Kita-Karuizawa. The Accommodation is dog-friendly with free indoor access and a private dog run. The dog run is generously covered with wood chips, and the BBQ area was well maintained, so we felt comfortable letting our dog play. Sitting on the deck in front of the trailer house, you can hear the gentle stream nearby, and all you see is lush greenery with no man-made structures in sight. Luom no Mori nearby, which we were kindly introduced to, offered delicious pizza in a spacious forest garden. At Asama Otaki Falls, the shaded walking path was pleasant, and our dog occasionally walked through the stream. This tiny house combines an attractive location that’s perfect for traveling with dogs with plenty of space and convenience.

I stayed in the main building, and it is new, well cleaned, and very beautiful. The Room also has a toilet. The Japanese-style Room is spacious enough for two people to sleep comfortably. It is conveniently located, and the parking lot is easy to use. Above all, the Onsen was wonderful, with many day visitors coming one after another. It seems to have a mineral quality that is rare even in The whole country, so please be sure to read the description. You can really understand how the land was formed and how good the soil is. The staff were kind as well—this Accommodation offered value beyond its price. I definitely want to visit again.

We chose this place because we wanted to take our kids to the beach and enjoy a BBQ. We don’t have a car, so we look for places we can reach by train. It was great that we could get there with a train transfer and then just a 6-minute walk from the bus stop. As soon as we stepped through the entrance, the spacious, beautiful garden lifted our spirits too! The Room was very stylish, with a comfortable sofa where we could truly relax. The tiled floor felt great underfoot, and with glass doors across one side, it was wonderful to look out over the garden. We don’t have a dog, but there were no odors or pet hair at all—nothing bothered us. Maybe because we had kids with us, there were thoughtful touches like origami paper, colored pencils, and games (including “Nanja Monja”), and we enjoyed them all. It’s also close to the beach, and there’s a convenience store nearby—very convenient overall. The seafood restaurant was crowded so we gave up this time, but we’d love to try again next time. They also sell shaved ice at reception—we had mango and matcha. They said it’s made with homemade syrup, and it was delicious! The waves were a bit high since it was right before a typhoon, but our kids loved it—playing in the waves and on the sand. They also played card games in the garden, relaxed on the small hammock swinging back and forth, and even found frogs and grasshoppers—so they kept asking over and over: “When are we coming again?”

This was my second stay, and once again I was very satisfied with both the generous portions and the delicious food. There were so many kinds of salad at dinner, both in variety and quantity—even the owner said he wasn’t sure how many there were. The salad alone can fill you up, but the bread was also excellent, and the hamburger steak was wonderfully meaty—very satisfying. The Onsen is a private bath. It’s close to the source spring, with a strong sulfur smell, and iron tends to oxidize. The temperature is just right, so you can soak slowly and relax. That said, the Facility is a bit old (the owner even joked it’s like a haunted house...), so it depends on whether it feels worth it for the price. For the Eco Plan, be sure to prepare properly yourself—bring changes of clothes, trash bags, etc. Once you get used to it, you won’t mind how old things are; it actually feels quite comfortable. We’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

Because we stayed on a weekday, there were few guests and we could relax. The Facility felt quite old, but it was kept clean. The meals were generous and very delicious.

As one of the most established Hotels in Tamatsukuri Onsen, it was sure to be a solid choice, and I was especially pleased with the excellent breakfast buffet. There was a great selection of seafood, and I also enjoyed the shijimi clam miso soup; if you prefer, you can also choose Western-style options, salads, and cornflakes. The view overlooks Lake Shinji, though the bridge structure of the San’in Expressway is hard to ignore.

We stayed for one night before the three-day weekend. As we had heard, the lukewarm sulfur-scented water was so relaxing that we could soak in it forever. Besides us, there was only one other couple, so we practically had the bath to ourselves. The beds in the Japanese-Western style room were firm and very comfortable to sleep on. The handmade dishes were delicious, and everything about this accommodation was absolutely satisfying.

As soon as we stepped inside, we were amazed by the gorgeous interior and how much closer the ocean was than we had imagined. The ocean view was truly breathtaking—an experience you don’t often get. The welcome drinks at check-in came in many varieties, which made it feel special and was perfect hospitality on a hot day. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared at the time we requested, so we could relax. For dinner, the BBQ included local meats, seafood, vegetables, and more, with explanations provided for each item. It was our first time using this type of grill, but the staff kindly showed us how to use it, so even beginners could grill everything deliciously with confidence. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and we were very satisfied with dinner. We usually have to prepare everything ourselves for a BBQ (including cleanup), so it was great that the Hotel took care of everything. After dinner, we enjoyed coffee while watching the sunset. Three types of coffee beans and an electric grinder were provided, along with instructions on how to use the grinder and recommended grind sizes—so we could enjoy freshly brewed coffee and spend a truly special time. There was a jacuzzi on the terrace bath area, and our kids were thrilled since it was their first time. The amenities for children included cute dolphin toothbrushes and sponges, which they loved. For adults, there were ReFa shower heads as well as a hair dryer, hair iron/curling iron tools? , hair oil? etc., leaving our hair smoother than usual—we were delighted. The croissants and roast beef at breakfast were also delicious. We would definitely like to stay again.
