The Accommodation itself is compact, but the detached annex is impressive and offers plenty of space. The meals were distinctive yet delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared.

We always use this place for our girls’ get-togethers. We have fun cooking together, soak in the jacuzzi, and enjoy champagne. With three bedrooms, we can relax and get a good rest. We’re also impressed every time by how spotless everything is. We usually stay right up until checkout, and they even took a commemorative photo of us outside on our way out! They also give us a Ryoma Passport as a gift, which we look forward to each time. One request: the shower is ReFa, but the hair dryer is different—so we’d love it if the hair dryer could be ReFa as well. We’ll plan our next stay and would love to come back again.

It was excellent. The meals were delicious. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source, and the water temperature was just right.

I stayed in the new wing, and the Room was clean and comfortable with a spacious desk. The staff were also very kind. The bath facilities are new as well, and the water is silky—truly feels like an Onsen. The sauna wasn’t too hot, and the cold bath wasn’t too cold, so it felt gentle on the body. It was very relaxing. Sauna mats were also provided. However, there is no trash bin inside the bathing area for disposing of used amenity items such as body towels or facial wash packets, so everyone had to return to the changing room trash bin while still wet. I would appreciate it if a small trash bin could be placed next to the shampoo area or near where sauna mats are returned. There were also manga and massage chairs in a space near the lobby, which helped me relax even more after bathing.

My wife said, “The best Hotel we’ve ever stayed at,” and I agree. We stayed to celebrate our eldest son’s birthday, and we had an incredibly comfortable stay with nothing to complain about. The Facility was spotless, the food was delicious, and every staff member was truly friendly and kind. While it has a luxurious atmosphere, there is also a dedicated route (private elevator) to the spa, so you can easily go from your Room in a bathrobe—something we really appreciated. Above all, the staff spoke to our birthday boy casually and with warm smiles, helping make wonderful memories for him as the star of the trip. The only downside is that it makes you really want to go to Hawaii (lol). Someday I’d love to stay at The Kahala Hotel in Hawaii as well.

We visited on a family trip, and we were very satisfied—the food was delicious and the Facility was clean.

My first trip to Shizuoka was very comfortable. The Facility was new and pleasant. One disappointing point was that they couldn’t arrange a taxi, and when I was told to handle it ourselves because they couldn’t get through, I felt disappointed that some Hotels are like this.

We stayed here on a family trip. There were plenty of great services, such as a free drink corner, a choice of colorful yukata, and a shampoo bar, which made our stay very comfortable. What I was happiest about was being able to use ReFa shower heads and ReFa hair dryers in the large public bath—it felt amazing. Thank you very much.

The front desk staff welcomed us with exceptional kindness. The Room was spacious and spotless, with a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Toya. In the private open-air bath, we could soak in the Onsen while fully enjoying the spectacular scenery of Lake Toya. The open-air bath in the large public bath on the top floor was at the perfect temperature—never too hot—so we could relax without having to step out repeatedly. Looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity bath, we felt completely refreshed in both body and mind; it was truly outstanding. The dining was also excellent. The dinner buffet featured an abundant selection of fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi, including scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp. There were also hot dishes such as grilled crab legs and steak—all you can eat. Breakfast offered a wide variety of seafood as well, including raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, and our whole family was thoroughly satisfied with the meals at “Kohan no Sumika.” I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Ryokan so far, but “Kohan no Sumika” is one of the few Hotels that I can say I absolutely want to return to. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, our family enjoyed an unforgettable and perfect stay. Thank you very much. 2. Business Courtesy Version (more formal and polite tone) This is a flawless Onsen Resort Hotel. I stayed at “Kohan no Sumika” on August 30. The front desk service was extremely courteous, and the Room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well maintained. From the guest Room we could enjoy sweeping views of Lake Toya, and in the private open-air bath we were able to savor both the Onsen experience and the beautiful scenery of Lake Toya to our heart’s content. The top-floor open-air bath had a wonderfully comfortable temperature that allowed for a long soak without overheating. Relaxing while looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity Onsen made for an exceptionally luxurious moment of calm. Dinner was highly satisfying: along with plentiful fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi—such as scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp—there were also all-you-can-eat options like grilled crab and steak. Breakfast likewise included seafood such as raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, leaving our entire family very pleased with its quality. Although I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Hotels to date, “Kohan no Sumika” is one of those rare outstanding Accommodations that I would very much like to visit again. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everyone’s warm hospitality; thanks to you all, our family enjoyed a truly perfect time together.

With September bringing constant rain, we made a last-minute Reservation by choosing a day that looked likely to be sunny. Thanks to that, we enjoyed a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji from our Room. First, our impressions of the Room: the spacious layout, the airy open-ceiling design, the calming Japanese-style corner, and the large sofa—all complemented by an incredible panoramic view through the front windows that simply left us speechless. The view from the open-air bath was, of course, outstanding as well. As the clouds shifted moment by moment, Mt. Fuji revealed many different expressions. As for the meals, every single dish was carefully prepared using local ingredients—truly delicious and exceptional. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was also wonderfully comforting, making this a stay we would absolutely love to return to.

My sons, who were visiting from Tokyo, stayed here and said, “I didn’t know there was such a great hotel in Iwata—it's even better than a five-star hotel in New York! (lol)” ・The room was spotless ・The amenities were excellent (the hair dryer?) ・Breakfast was delicious, etc. They said they want to stay here again next time, and seeing how happy they were made me feel happy too.

Whenever I travel to Kobe on business, I always stay here. As a small suggestion to make the stay even more comfortable, I noticed a little dust in the elevator and near the bottom of the guest room door, so I would appreciate it if you could check these areas during cleaning. I am very satisfied with the staff’s polite service and responses, as well as the large public bath. I always enjoy a pleasant stay here. I would definitely like to stay here again on my next business trip to Kobe. Thank you for your continued support.

I stay here every year when I visit Kobe, also to pay my respects at the family grave. The front desk staff always welcome me warmly, making me feel like I’ve come home. The Room furnishings are calm and tasteful, and the drawers for storing clothes are very convenient. They provide a voucher for Chikuzono Butcher’s croquettes, so enjoying those nostalgic, warm croquettes in my Room is one of my pleasures. I also enjoyed drinks in the lounge while taking in the night view of Mt. Rokko and spent a relaxing time. I look forward to staying with you again.

When I mentioned in advance that we would be staying to celebrate a birthday, they prepared balloons and a congratulatory message in our Room, which truly moved us. They also kindly offered complimentary use of the private bath, so we were able to enjoy a very relaxing bathing time. We were also happy to receive a dessert plate at dinner. For the children, there was a fireworks set, a cute amenities set, gifts for answering quiz questions, and festival-style activities such as target shooting and string-pulling games. There was also self-serve shaved ice where you could adjust the portion size yourself, which was great. At the pool, there were free self-serve rentals of float rings and water guns as well, so we had a lot of fun. There was so much to enjoy that our child was absolutely delighted. We chose the breakfast and dinner buffet options. At dinner there was a live kitchen with hand-rolled sushi and steak (I think), and everything was very delicious. The value for money felt unbelievably good. We went right when service started, so it was probably mostly Japanese guests at first and only moderately busy; however, it gradually became more crowded as more international guests arrived. I think going earlier is more comfortable. The sea bream and tuna sushi were outstanding, and there were also sashimi offerings separately—since we are a family that loves seafood, we really appreciated it. If I had to mention areas for improvement: There was dust under the beds in our Room. Our child playfully reached under the bed and came out covered in dust, which was disappointing. Also (though this may be unavoidable due to the layout), the pool is not connected directly to the large public bath area; you have to move through indoor corridors within the building. After using the pool you need to change clothes before heading to the public bath area, which felt inconvenient—especially for families with children who likely want to bathe after swimming. Because coin laundry is free (and perhaps due to seasonal demand), there can be long waits. A notice said that if someone’s laundry cycle has finished, other guests may move it into a basket—but guests who hadn’t read it seemed startled that someone had moved their items without permission. I understood because I saw the notice myself, but it still didn’t feel great; I wondered if there might be another solution. Since it’s summer and free of charge—and everyone wants to use it—it may simply be inevitable. Overall, we were very satisfied. The value for money was so good that it almost made me wonder if everything was really okay! Thank you very much!

As we did last year, we stayed again this year for our cousins’ trip. Unfortunately, the weather was bad last year, but this year it was sunny, so we decided to definitely use Choraku’s pool. At check-in, we enjoyed delicious tea and sweets in the lounge, then rested a bit in our Room before heading to Choraku. We went into the pool (there were lots of children, but we still enjoyed it), and then used Choraku’s open-air bath. After returning, it was time for dinner. The meal was delicious again this time. The main dish at dinner was venison, which had no gamey smell and tasted great. There were also various drinks that paired well with the food, and this time we ordered the wine pairing. The price was very reasonable. After dinner we took a short break, then went back to Choraku to enjoy a mini concert. After returning, we had a nightcap in the lounge, took another bath, and went to bed. In the morning we woke up slowly, took another bath, and then had breakfast. This time we could choose between Japanese-style or Western-style breakfast; since the bread served here is incredibly good, we chose Western-style and asked for all types of bread so the three of us could share a little of each. We had tea in the lounge again, returned to our Room to pack up our belongings—and then it was already time to check out. The staff were pleasant, the Room was clean and comfortable—an easy Hotel to relax in—and since you can also enjoy Choraku’s Facilities and events as well, there’s plenty to do. We had another wonderful stay this time too. We’re planning our cousins’ trip here again next year as well—thank you in advance.

We celebrated his birthday here. We chose this Accommodation to celebrate as the last couple before we become husband and wife when we visit Shimabara again next year. We were truly impressed by the staff’s thoughtful hospitality, and the locally sourced cuisine was absolutely delicious. The in-Room sauna and bath were both excellent. Everything was perfect.

From the warm hospitality to the excellent service from all the staff, we had a wonderful time. We also enjoyed unexpected activities such as the table tennis service, and the ocean view from our Room was beautiful—making it a truly memorable day. The meals offered a great variety, and we were able to fully enjoy many of Toyama’s local specialties. The evening course dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and we were extremely satisfied. One thing we hope will improve further is the overall cleanliness and odor inside the building. We stayed in a non-smoking Room, but noticed a slight smell of cigarette smoke on the floor. Since it is such a lovely Ryokan, improving this point would make the stay even more comfortable. Other than that, everything was truly wonderful—this is a Ryokan we would like to give five stars. It’s a place we would love to visit again with our family. We would be even happier if these points have been improved by our next visit.

We had stayed at another resort hotel until the day before, but we were truly impressed by the attentive service here—wonderful hospitality from helping with our luggage to taking photos. When we opened the window, the Irabu Bridge and Miyako Blue stretched out right in front of us, and the time wrapped in the morning sun was pure bliss. The room, styled in white and beige tones, and the spacious powder room were both stylish and spotless. There wasn’t a single bug, so we could relax in complete comfort. The pleasant scent in the lobby also left a strong impression, and every time we returned to the hotel we felt refreshed. The in-room amenities were equally impressive—high-quality hair dryers and kettles from well-known brands, as well as an excellent selection of complimentary drinks—showing thoughtful attention to detail throughout. Overall it was a highly satisfying stay, but a couple of small points stood out: the shampoo products didn’t suit my hair or skin, and I would have loved to see a bit more Miyakojima-style dishes or Japanese options at breakfast (even about one-third more). All in all, we were extremely satisfied and would definitely love to return—and recommend it to others.

I wasn’t expecting much because I thought it would be just a typical business hotel, but the parking staff were kind from the start, and the check-in staff were also polite and helpful. The staff serving the late-night noodles and at the breakfast venue were polite and kind as well. The room wasn’t large, but it was clean, and the open-air bath was also clean and very relaxing. It’s a hotel that I feel could even charge a bit more. Thank you for taking care of us.
