It is very conveniently located just a short walk from Osu Kannon. The hotel itself shows its age, and the rooms are simple and modest. The in-room bath is not particularly impressive, but the public bath is pleasant to use. The complimentary drinks service and amenities are more than sufficient and much appreciated. It was disappointing that there were no disposable slippers. All staff are kind and courteous. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

This was my first stay. True to its classic exterior, the hotel’s interiors and décor are refined, creating an elegant atmosphere. The building itself seems to have some age, but it has been renovated and is impeccably maintained—everything was very clean. The staff were polished and professional. What impressed me most was dinner. I’ve had French cuisine in many places, but the food here was exceptional: a wide variety of fish dishes, excellent-quality meat, and outstanding sauces. I would love to visit again.

It was a truly wonderful hotel. Around the day before our stay, they called not only to confirm the reservation but also to ask in advance about various details, and their hospitality was outstanding. The sauna and pool were great, and breakfast was thoughtfully prepared—adorable and delicious. The glasses in the room were so cute that I ended up buying some! It’s a fantastic hotel, and all of the staff were kind and lovely. If we have a car next time, it’s definitely a place we’d love to stay at again for an extended visit.

We stayed for one night and two days with our 3-year-old child. The main lounge offered a wide variety of drinks and snacks, allowing us to relax and unwind. The private family bath was also kept very clean, and the three of us could soak comfortably together. In the play lounge, there was a great selection of table games that our child loved, and we got really into them while enjoying quality family time. The activity room also had karaoke, which everyone enjoyed together. In particular, since the main lounge is open until midnight, we used it multiple times and were very satisfied. The Hotel staff were also courteous, and we had an excellent stay. We would definitely like to stay again next time.

Being right in the heart of Nakasu made me a bit nervous at first, but it wasn’t that noisy at night. There’s a convenience store downstairs, and the station is close by, so it was very convenient. They kindly changed my booking to the ladies’ floor, and the Room layout was functional and stress-free. I could stretch out comfortably in the large public bath and relax well. I’d like to stay again.

We stayed with 10 family members across three generations to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. At check-in, we were given a number ticket and had to wait a bit, perhaps because there weren’t enough staff. However, drinks were free-flowing, and the lobby was lovely, so we didn’t mind waiting. We stayed in the renovated main building. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was one mishap—the bathroom door wouldn’t close—but staff came right away and fixed it so it would close (though it still made some noise). We booked a kaiseki dinner plan and went to the dining venue, but we couldn’t find the reception desk and there were no staff around, so we sat at the table number written on paper. Even after waiting for a while, no one came. When we spoke to a trainee staff member, they came to take our drink order. After that, an experienced staff member in charge of our table came over. Since I had noted in our reservation that this was for my father’s 70th birthday celebration, they brought a red celebratory vest (chanchanko). On top of that, they surprised us with an extra celebratory dish “from the kitchen” and even a gift from the hotel—my father was truly delighted. As expected from Hyakumangoku Hotel. We chose this hotel because we stayed here as a family about 25 years ago and remembered it well—my father said he wanted to stay here again. After the renovation made everything even nicer, being able to return together with more grandchildren than before felt very special. It became a wonderful trip to remember. Thank you very much!

I stayed for one night during the first half of Silver Week. Due to an unfortunate heavy rain warning, I ended up extending my stay (there were occasional power outages, but service was restored quickly), and I was able to enjoy my Hotel stay with my dog without any issues. If I had to mention one thing, the indoor dog run felt like an outdoor shed and seemed a bit old, so I didn’t feel like staying there for long. I would have preferred a brighter indoor space with a cleaner feel. However, the staff were kind and spoke to me warmly, which made me feel very comfortable. The meals were excellent and I was very satisfied.

Conveniently located near the station, though it does feel a bit dated... (it didn’t bother me at all). Perhaps because of that, there are lots of nice little perks. The breakfast soba was great—it really made me feel like I was in Nagano. I also appreciated the free drinks, and the newspapers too. Best of all was the open-air bath on the rooftop. If you pay a lot more, you can probably find plenty of options, but for a hotel like this, it’s not something you see very often. If I have the chance, I’d definitely like to stay again.

I first stayed here this July, and this time I visited again with a different friend. Last time, we enjoyed the chef’s omakase-style meal. I remember it was not only absolutely delicious, but also very generous in portion—I was completely full. This time we didn’t request any special dishes. It seemed to be the standard course, but it was truly wonderful! The amount was just right for me as well. My friend was also delighted and asked the proprietress whether there is a larger room available, as she would love to come back with her daughter’s family—six people in total. Next time, I’d like to upgrade the room a little and enjoy a more relaxing stay. I’m afraid to step on the scale now that I’m home (lol). Thank you very much to the proprietress and everyone for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed in a river-side Standard Twin. It felt like a slightly more luxurious version of Dormy Inn—keeping all the meticulous attention to detail Dormy is known for, but with extra touches of indulgence. It was fantastic. What we loved: ● The dim, forest-like atmosphere in the lobby ● The view of the river and trees from the room ● Being able to open the window and let fresh air in ● Listening to the sound of the river all night ● The in-room hinoki (cypress?) bath and Dormy-style setup that fills quickly and effortlessly ● A long, narrow room layout with the beds placed in a darker area away from the window—very calming ● A hand-grinder coffee set—wonderful ● A sink at the bar area above the fridge—amazing. First time I’ve seen this. No need to deal with leftover drinks in the bathroom area! ● Loungewear that doubles as pajamas, just like Dormy Inn—perfect. No need to bring extra clothes for inside the hotel ● An entryway where you take off your shoes before stepping into the room—nice touch ● Slightly more upscale in-room amenities (skincare/toiletries), which was a pleasant surprise ● The young woman at reception was very friendly and welcoming ● The older gentleman serving breakfast was also very kind and shared helpful information with us ● A large sofa in the room that you can really stretch out on What could be improved: ■ The window you can open for ventilation is small. When it’s hot, it doesn’t let enough air through—you’d want a larger opening for better airflow ■ Breakfast: I liked the steamed vegetables in the Western set, but I wasn’t sure why they were meant to be eaten with French dressing. They were delicious with olive oil and spice salt (served with the egg) instead ■ I would have appreciated slightly thicker bath towels ■ There are no bath towels provided at the public bath (so if you forget to bring one from your room, you’re stuck). Since we used it multiple times a day, it would be nice if there were 2–3 towels per person in each room… though given everything else they provide, I understand Overall, between the incredible view and great hot water, it was an excellent experience. It’s extremely far away—but maybe that’s exactly what makes it special. I’d love to come back.

Because I made the Reservation at the last minute, only a larger Room was available, so I booked that one. It was a bit expensive, but I was satisfied with the Room. The Hotel itself is a little old, but it has been renovated and improved in various ways. The meals were well thought out and I was pleased. I would like to visit again when I have the chance.

I stayed with my sister and niece. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t see the sunset, but the food was delicious and the staff were very kind, so we made wonderful memories. The Japanese taiko drum performance was also amazing. I accidentally left something behind, and I really appreciate how quickly you helped us. The only disappointment was that a large group of overseas guests arrived and we couldn’t use the elevator, so it took quite a while to get back up to our room. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again.

The location is convenient and close to the station, and the front desk staff guided us politely. The building was clean, and the Room was just as clean as expected, so we had a comfortable stay. There were a bath and a relaxation Room, which helped us make good use of our free time at night in the Hotel. The welcome drinks were unlimited, and the complimentary ochazuke was a great touch—everything was thoughtfully provided. I would likely stay again. Breakfast was also delicious—thank you for the wonderful meal.

The staff’s wonderful smiles, their kind and attentive service to my mother who travels with me, delicious cuisine that delights all five senses, and an Onsen you can enjoy as much as you like whenever you like—everything about this Accommodation is consistently excellent, so we keep coming back. The Rooms are clean and comfortable with a strong sense of privacy, and each Room has a completely different atmosphere, which makes it fun to try them all. We would love to visit again in a different season.

More than 40 years ago, when I was a child, I stayed here with my mother, my older brother, and a family who were acquaintances of my mother. I could barely remember anything other than the name, but after all these years, I’m glad I was able to stay again—this time with my own family. The portions at both dinner and breakfast were very satisfying, and I was happy to have my favorite hoba miso. I love Gero, so if I have the chance, I’d like to stay again.

The spacious special room was very large and clean. There were five of us, and since it had beds as well as a Japanese-style room, it was perfect for my elderly mother. We were very satisfied, and because both the dining area and the baths were on the second floor, getting around was easy. We stayed for two nights, but the buffet selection was exactly the same both days, so we would have appreciated a bit more variety. The bath water was also excellent.

The Room had a wonderful atmosphere and was very clean! The loungewear was also very comfortable—excellent! Since it is free-flowing hot spring water, the bath temperature was around 43°C and too hot for our child to soak in, which was a bit disappointing. But other than that, we have no complaints.

True to its name, the baths were excellent. The large public bath was spacious, and the open-air bath in the Room was a comfortable size, so we were able to fully enjoy the baths. The meals also offered a wide variety; we had rice with simmered golden eye snapper and left completely satisfied. The rice was especially delicious, and we ate more than we should have. We would love to stay again.

Free on-site surface parking. A gas station is nearby; McDonald’s and the Valor supermarket are next door; Sukiya is across the road; and Takoman (a local confectionery) is just opposite. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff’s warm smiles make you feel at ease. Even the housekeeping team greets you with a smile, not just the front desk, which is very pleasant. The large public bath has long opening hours, feels very clean, and is spacious. When I asked to have the air purifier replaced, they brought one right away. They also kindly explained that what I thought was dirt wasn’t actually dirt (they were considerate so I wouldn’t feel embarrassed). I didn’t catch their name, but thank you for your help despite being busy. It was so good that I extended my stay to a Multiple Night Stay.

I booked and stayed on short notice due to sudden plans. The hotel’s parking lot was small, so I used the affiliated parking lot, but it was easy to find and there were no issues. The room was clean and well maintained, and I couldn’t hear noise from neighboring rooms. If anything, I would have liked a bit more variety at breakfast. Overall, I think it is a good hotel.
