This is the oldest hot spring in the San’in region, and it’s also a natural free-flowing Onsen—an absolute must for an Onsen enthusiast like me (laugh). The building does feel old because of its long history, but that’s part of its charm, and I hope it will continue for many years to come. The meals were a bit too much for me as an older guest; I would have preferred smaller portions with higher quality. The staff were wonderful. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a family of three. This time, we chose this Accommodation for my husband’s birthday trip, and the thoughtful care from all the staff was truly wonderful, making it a trip we will always remember. They prepared a bed for our newborn daughter and showed such attentive consideration during meals as well, so we felt at ease throughout our stay. They also arranged a surprise dessert plate for my husband, and even gave us a heartfelt gift to take home when we left—we were deeply moved. Thanks to you, it became an unforgettable birthday for him. In the Room, we enjoyed watching movies at our leisure with the projector—something we don’t often get to experience—and we were also able to spend luxurious time in the open-air bath. We are sincerely grateful that we could spend such an irreplaceable time together as a family of three in such a lovely Room. We would love to visit again in another season. This was our third summer here. This year again, I stayed with my daughter. It was another scorching summer, and we had been spending our days in temperatures higher than body temperature, but Yufuin felt like a different world—so cool and refreshing. In the mornings and evenings, the air was pleasantly chilly with a gentle breeze. Even while soaking in the Onsen, it felt truly comfortable. The Onsen here is wonderful, and even in summer you can relax and soak at ease. The wind was strong due to an approaching typhoon, but the soothing rustling of the trees made it even nicer. Needless to say, every dish was delicious. We enjoyed flavors we’d never had before—it was such a pleasure. We’re always amazed by the chef’s creativity. Thank you as well to all the staff for your courteous service. We were able to relax completely. It became a fun and healing trip for just me and my daughter. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Many of the staff are locals and have extensive knowledge about nearby facilities and the ingredients used in the cuisine, and they shared a lot with us. Of course, the Onsen was also wonderful, with fresh-flowing water. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

This is a small Ryokan with a strong sense of history, and as soon as you step through the entrance, you are welcomed by a classic Japanese Ryokan that blends beautifully with nature. The attentive service from the staff and the view of Kakusenkei Gorge from the Room made for a wonderful welcome. The Onsen is also small, but it was calm and very relaxing. Most impressive of all was the dining experience—every detail, from the food to the presentation and tableware, was outstanding. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to.

Both the cave bath and the open-air bath were clean, and we could relax comfortably. We stayed in a Room that seems to have undergone a major renovation—reducing the number of rooms and adding a bedroom and a private in-room hot spring bath with free-flowing water—so our stay was very comfortable. The furnishings in the Room and along the hallways were also lovely. The experienced staff who took care of our meals kindly answered various questions about the local area, making our time truly enjoyable. Thank you very much.

We had an incredibly fulfilling stay. From the interior and exterior design to the furniture, decor, fixtures, amenities, lawn, and open grounds, this was a wonderfully comfortable Facility where you can feel the attention to detail everywhere. The interior is unified in a calm design, with very high ceilings that create an airy sense of openness, allowing us to fully enjoy a special time away from everyday life. The vanity area and bathroom were especially spacious and impressive—made with high-quality materials and kept impeccably clean down to every corner. The amenities also felt thoughtfully chosen; for example, Aesop hand soap was provided at the sink. All essential cookware and appliances were available, so we could stay comfortably without any inconvenience. We even enjoyed handheld fireworks in the garden. The views of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps were also stunning—scenery you could gaze at for hours without noticing time pass. Most memorable of all were the wood-fired sauna and cold plunge bath. The wood-fired sauna was exceptional—enjoying it while feeling the flicker of flames, hearing the crackle of burning logs, and breathing in the scent of wood was truly special. Unlike an electric heater, it had a gentle heat that warmed us slowly from deep within and helped us relax completely. A large amount of sauna stones were thoroughly heated, so we could also enjoy pleasant steam from löyly. It’s an ideal setup that I would highly recommend even to dedicated sauna lovers. They added ice to the cold plunge bath multiple times for us, so we could cool down properly. Paired with the wood-fired sauna, it was perfect—we fully enjoyed every session. In the evening we enjoyed a BBQ, and we really appreciated that the owner prepared everything—from lighting the fire to setting everything up. On top of that, we received a generous gift of fresh vegetables grown by his wife. They were all rare varieties you don’t often see day-to-day, and you could feel careful attention not only in each vegetable but also in their labels and packaging. We tried them right away at our BBQ—especially the eggplant, which was unbelievably tender and delicious. Beyond how wonderful both the Facility itself and its location are, we were truly moved by the owners’ thoughtful hospitality as well. In this extraordinary setting—with beautiful views, a wood-fired sauna experience like no other،and BBQ—we spent a luxurious yet deeply comfortable time here. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience.

This is our second visit. The Facility has an exotic atmosphere, making it feel like an overseas trip. Playing in the spacious dog run is fun, but even just watching the scenery in the rain is satisfying. My wife and our dogs love this Facility, so we’ll be back again next month. Visiting here regularly has become a tradition for our family.

A well-balanced breakfast gave me the energy to head to work, and the large bath helped me unwind after a long day. Despite the clean Room and convenient location, the price is reasonable. There are no excessive amenities, but all necessary services are well provided, making my business trip comfortable. They also handled taxi arrangements with great care, and I felt it was a Hotel where I could stay with peace of mind. I was also satisfied with the user-friendly in-Room features such as a TV that shows how crowded the dining area and large public bath are, as well as an air purifier.

Ever since I happened to stay here on a trip to Wakayama, I’ve been coming back regularly. This is already my third stay. I get the sense it used to be a love hotel, but in any case, it’s extremely clean and comfortable. For this level of quality, the value for money is outstanding. Highlights: The Room is very spacious and spotless. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the bath is large enough to soak properly in the tub. The bed is double-sized and roomy. Amenities are well stocked. I still haven’t found any downsides lol. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Wakayama.

I don’t usually post Reviews, but this was such a wonderful Accommodation that I wanted to share it in case it helps anyone considering a stay. I live in central Tokyo, and staying at luxury Hotels in Tokyo is one of my hobbies. A Hotel stay refreshes me and boosts my motivation for work. When I’m craving an Onsen, I choose highly rated Ryokan based on Reviews. YUI has become one of my favorite Accommodations—easily among the top Ryokan I’ve stayed at so far. First, the Room was spotless. I’m a bit particular about cleanliness, but there wasn’t a single thing that bothered me—I was completely comfortable. The meals were delicious, and all the staff were kind and welcoming with genuinely pleasant service. Check-in and check-out are completed in your Room, so you hardly run into other guests. If you want to relax quietly at your own pace, I highly recommend it. I had seen some strict Reviews about the food and was slightly worried, but everything tasted great to me. I was also happy that the drink prices were reasonable (laugh). A river runs right in front of you, and you can fully enjoy nature that you simply can’t experience in the city. The open-air bath in the guest room was especially soothing—I could soak slowly without worrying about anyone’s eyes. Many people dislike insects; what surprised me most was how few came inside. In Rooms with an open-air bath, that’s always something I worry about because I’m not good with bugs—but this time there wasn’t even one insect in the tub or bathroom when I woke up in the morning, which made it extremely comfortable. (You can see insects outside, but somehow they don’t come in.) Also, when it comes to summer Onsen bathing, I usually don’t like stepping outside into heavy humidity before getting in. At YUI, even when going outdoors I barely felt that muggy heat at all, so I could enjoy the Onsen very comfortably even in summer. (I’m not sure if it’s because of Yugawara, the building design, or being surrounded by nature.) This might get me scolded for nitpicking—but if I had to mention any downsides: The towels are clean and fluffy, but their absorbency is slightly weak. Also, if you’re arriving by supercar/low-clearance vehicle (?), you’ll need to choose your Room carefully—advance consultation is essential. To everyone at YUI: thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our stay. Sorry I couldn’t include photos—I’m not good at taking them. We will definitely visit again. I'm already looking forward to deciding which Room to stay in next time.

We stayed here a few years ago and loved it, so we returned for a group trip to celebrate our 60th birthdays. With a Room overlooking the Yubatake, high-quality Onsen baths, and delicious meals, our friends were very satisfied and it became a wonderful trip. The large public bath was outstanding as expected, but we were also impressed by how well stocked the amenities corner in the changing area was. They even had face sheet masks. We wanted to take our time with dinner this time, so we chose the dining venue “Kimi no Roman.” The food was delicious, and we also enjoyed learning about the ingredients thanks to the staff’s thoughtful explanations. Breakfast was buffet-style. There were many creative dishes featuring local ingredients, and everything was excellent. We felt that even if we had chosen the dinner buffet, we would have been satisfied. Since we needed to go to an annex building for the large public bath and breakfast, we walked back and forth along the connecting corridor. The furnishings and Facilities were polished to a shine, with beautiful ikebana displays throughout. There were also impressive arrangements in the large public bath area itself, giving a sense of refinement that only a long-established Accommodation can offer. All staff members were kind; when we asked for photos, they even took them from atop a step ladder so they could include the Yubatake in the shot. This is an excellent Accommodation with attentive hospitality in every detail—both in its services and its upkeep. The souvenir shop on the first floor is large with an extensive selection, so you can find everything there. They also have a corner featuring Asama Shuzo (my favorite), where I was able to buy various items. Guests who spend 2,500 yen or more receive delicious cookies.

The delicious meals and everyone’s warm hospitality were truly soothing. In particular, thank you to the person in charge of our dinner for your thoughtful care in so many ways. This is a wonderful Accommodation, with a spacious public bath and an open-air bath where the greenery of the trees and mountains feels almost within reach. The garden open-air bath was at just the right temperature, and perhaps thanks to thorough insect control even in summer, we weren’t bothered by insects at all. Although it was fully booked, maybe our timing was good—the public bath was almost private, and we enjoyed it to the fullest. After returning home, my husband and I are quietly aiming to try every Room with a garden open-air bath. We would love to visit again, and we appreciate your continued kindness when we do. Although it is located in a place that is hard to reach without navigation—after driving quite a while up a narrow uphill road from the national highway—once you step onto the property, you immediately feel like you are at an Izu Onsen. The sound of wind chimes in the lobby eased half of my driving fatigue, and while the large public bath and open-air bath were of course wonderful, the indoor bath in the Room was exceptional and completely melted away my tiredness. The bathtub, water volume, and water temperature were all perfect. Another highlight you can’t experience in a city apartment was the sheer amount and power of hot water from the shower—it was impressive. Dinner featured an excellent salt-grilled ayu and lava-grilled beef, along with a variety of dishes served on many different plates that were fun to look at. And the rice was delicious.

All Rooms are private and completely soundproof, and the location felt truly luxurious, with nothing but ocean as far as the eye could see from the open-air bath in the garden. Although it was cloudy, we could see a starry sky at night when we turned off the lights, and it was wonderful to relax in the bath while enjoying a pleasant breeze. The meals were especially delicious—particularly the dishes featuring dashi broth. We would love to visit again.

This was my second stay, following last year. The lobby, Room, and large public bath are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The large public bath is excellent. The Onsen leaves your skin feeling smooth, and I especially liked the open-air bath with a very hot option. Breakfast featured many Chichibu specialties and was healthy, so I could eat plenty without feeling heavy—while still offering hearty options for those who want a more filling meal. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Chichibu.

Although I live in Osaka, I stayed at Patina Osaka, which is very close to my home. Above all, the hospitality was outstanding in every aspect from check-in to check-out, and even though it was a short one-night stay, it was an extremely satisfying Hotel stay. The meals (in-room dining) and breakfast were both delicious—I was impressed the entire time. The turndown service was also meticulous, with everything kept spotless; the service was truly attentive, making it the most comfortable Hotel I have ever stayed at. It is also very pet-first, so my family and I could relax with complete peace of mind. I will definitely be back again. My heartfelt thanks to all the hoteliers at Patina Osaka. Thank you so much!

I stayed at Banshokaku Shikishima again this summer while visiting my hometown, and once again I truly felt it is an Accommodation where attentive care and consideration reach every detail. All of the staff were extremely polite and kind, and I could really feel their warmth and compassion. The meals were very thoughtfully prepared, delicious of course, and left me completely satisfied. The staff who welcomed me at the front desk and in the parking area also assisted me very courteously, which made me feel great. I also remember seeing a staff member giving directions to another guest—explaining slowly, clearly, and with great care. This time as well, I am simply grateful for the warm support from the front desk staff when I was leaving. Thanks to you all, I was able to relax comfortably at my own pace and feel refreshed. The Room, meals, bath, and staff were all very satisfying for adults. If there was one thing that concerned me, it was that the wonderful Akazawa Spa thalasso pool as a Facility felt like a summer-vacation kids’ pool, so I couldn’t relax. From 8/1, even small children were allowed to enter, and many children who needed swim rings were playing and enjoying the lazy river. Since the Room and meals provided such a relaxing and satisfying time for adults, I couldn’t help wishing that Akazawa Spa had remained a space where adults could also unwind. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again, so next time I’d like to go outside of the summer vacation season and enjoy Akazawa Spa as well.
