To everyone at the Hotel, and Nagi—thank you for taking such great care of me. These two nights and three days truly helped me understand the concept of “luxury through simplicity.” It gave me a chance to reset by letting go of built-up fatigue and stress in both body and mind, and to spend unhurried time reflecting on myself. Next time I’ll stay for three nights and four days—and I’ll come see you again!

The breathtaking ocean view was incredible, and we enjoyed a luxurious time that felt like having the sea of Atami all to ourselves. The modern, calming space was also exceptional. It was a special Accommodation we would love to visit again with our cherished family.

The dishes were well-seasoned and delicious. The variety of dishes was just right and very tasty, making it a perfect experience. Additionally, the desserts such as pudding, ice cream, and zenzai were delightful. The staff's service was excellent as well. Thank you very much!

I made a Reservation because I wanted a base near Asakusa Station for a day trip to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, and it was also close to Kaminarimon, so I was able to enjoy Asakusa as well. The Room is not very large, but it was clean and well maintained. There is no bathtub—only a shower room—but in return the toilet was spacious, which can be hard to find in a typical unit bath. That may have been my favorite part. The staff were friendly, and it was an Accommodation that offered everything I needed. Thank you!

I stayed here during the Obon holiday. I came thinking, “The view looks nice, and as long as I can sleep well, that’s enough,” but in the best way possible, my expectations were completely exceeded. This time I stayed in a Japanese-style room before the renovation, and it felt very clean. The futon was fluffy, and above all, the view from the window was amazing. The Onsen wasn’t overly large and had a calm, relaxing atmosphere, so I was able to unwind at a leisurely pace. Most memorable of all was the warm hospitality from the wonderful owner couple and all of the staff. Of course the Accommodation itself is very comfortable, but I think what makes you want to come back is this kind of genuine warmth from people. On top of that, at check-out there was an exclusive service for guests: a photo shoot by the owner, who is also a professional photographer! The beautiful photo data were later sent by email as well—it became an unexpected and very happy memory. I also heard they are continuing to renovate parts of the building little by little even now, so it’s exciting to see how it changes with each visit. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of Accommodation it will become in the future. Even though I went planning “just to stay overnight,” I came home with wonderful memories—including the scenery, the Onsen, and meeting such kind people. I would definitely love to visit again. *This isn’t directly related to Hotel services, but please note that the entrance from the street can be a bit hard to find, and some parts of the road leading up to this Accommodation are narrow. If you’re coming by car, it may help to drive carefully on your way here.*

Being a public accommodation, the price for two meals included is exceptional. The food is delicious, and you can enjoy a beautiful sunset nearby, making it very satisfying. Next time, I look forward to enjoying the restored onsen and staying here again.

Overall, I was satisfied. The cleaning was thorough, and the property had a clean and fresh feel. However, the water pressure in the shower was quite weak, which made me worry about rinsing off shampoo properly. Additionally, the sofa bed was too worn out to sleep on comfortably as it was. On a positive note, convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants are all within walking distance, which is fantastic!

I chose to stay here because the exterior and interior photos were so striking, and I was also drawn to the fact that it is operated by a public interest incorporated association that supports children with intractable illnesses and their families. The welcome drink and sweets, as well as the complimentary drinks, all had a distinctly Okinawan touch and were truly enjoyable. The staff’s service was polite yet friendly and warm, which left a strong impression. The private bath is used on a time-slot rotation, but since there aren’t many guest groups staying at once, it didn’t feel inconvenient at all. The spacious bath allowed me to relax comfortably. It drizzled lightly at night, and watching raindrops fall onto the water feature in the center of the building and ripple outward felt wonderfully magical. The next morning was sunny, so we had breakfast in the lush garden while surrounded by pleasant morning light. I was able to enjoy Okinawan dishes and fruits that are not easy to come across in everyday life—it was deeply satisfying. In particular, the island banana smoothie served before breakfast was so delicious that I honestly wanted seconds (haha). It was only one night, but it was a truly lovely Accommodation where I could step away from daily life and spend quiet, peaceful time.

As the shower is shared, it’s reasonable for the price. The view from the window was nice as well, so I had a pleasant stay. There was also a convenience store within walking distance, so the location is good enough. The only downside is that the place is a bit hard to find.

Great value and satisfying meals even during the Obon holiday period. A Hotel I can recommend. The bath amenities were plentiful, but it was a shame it wasn’t an Onsen—still, the water was very nice.

This was my third stay, and as always I was very satisfied with the meals, the baths, and the hospitality. The dinner in particular felt like a course meal, which made it enjoyable to savor at a relaxed pace. Being able to enjoy a variety of wines and sake with the coin system was also a real treat for anyone who loves alcohol. They also provided guidance on recommended spots for firefly viewing, and I was able to see countless fireflies dancing in the night. The mornings and evenings were cool, so the duvet came in handy. I would love to stay again.

We stayed in a Japanese-style room as we had small children. While the building and structure are not new, the interior has been beautifully renovated, and the facilities, including the water areas, were clean and comfortable. The Onsen is not very large but provided a relaxing experience for both parents and children. The staff at breakfast were kind to our kids, making it a memorable trip for our family.

My first solo trip after turning 50, to Yufuin—a place I had always wanted to visit. Among the many Onsen Ryokans, I chose Hotaru for its room with an open-air bath. Traveling by plane and bus, I was grateful for the Shuttle Service from the station. The detached room was lovely; though it rained, the rock bath had a partially covered area, allowing me to soak without getting wet while enjoying the raindrops falling into the bath—a truly serene experience. The room was clean and comfortable, perfect even for a solo traveler like me. The Onsen water was incredibly smooth—unlike anything I've experienced before—and felt amazing on my skin. The view was breathtaking as well. In the morning, as it cleared up, I watched Mount Yufu's mist and clouds shift by the minute, revealing various beautiful faces of the mountain—I didn’t want to leave! The meals were made with local Oita ingredients and were absolutely delicious; I left feeling completely satisfied. If I visit this area again, I'd love to stay in the same room at Hotaru once more!

I stayed here when visiting the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. Since this is a pension, please consider this review as an evaluation of a different type of stay than a typical Hotel or Ryokan. Room The Room was very simple and clean. It was also spacious enough to relax comfortably. The bed felt slightly small and has a frame at the foot, so taller guests may find it bothersome. At 185 cm, my feet were completely hanging off the end. Facility The bath, toilet, and refrigerator are shared. The bath was a fairly large communal bath for a pension. Although it feels a bit old, it is kept clean. Meals For dinner you can choose BBQ or a set course meal. I chose the BBQ; it was mainly pork, with plenty of vegetables, and I ended up very full. Next time I’d like to try the course meal as well. Breakfast was a classic Japanese-style breakfast—well balanced and satisfying. Overall The Room was clean, the meals were wonderful, and the owner was very friendly and welcoming, making for an excellent experience. As it was the off-season, the price was also very helpful. It’s about an hour from here to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, so I highly recommend this pension for anyone visiting there. Because it’s deep in the mountains in Ishikawa Prefecture, nights are cool and air conditioning wasn’t necessary. However, since it’s in the mountains there are insects in summer (they take precautions but can’t eliminate them completely). That said, this is normal for mountain pensions like this one—you just need to be prepared for it. Highly recommended for those who enjoy pensions or mountain lodges.

This was my seventh visit to Shodoshima, but my first time staying at this accommodation. It was also my first time staying in a whole house, and I was impressed by how clean it was and the thoughtful amenities like tableware, a coffee mill, and even coffee beans. The view was beautiful, and I enjoyed a peaceful stay while listening to the sound of the waves. The nearby Choiwa Rock is easily accessible by car, allowing for a refreshing morning walk. Thank you very much. I will definitely choose this accommodation again on my next visit to Shodoshima!

Thank you for everything. It was our first stay, and we really enjoyed the sauna, the bath, and the many Rooms that were almost too spacious. There was also a separate table tennis Room, which made our time even more fun. We consulted with you in advance about a birthday cake and a bouquet, and you prepared everything and helped create a wonderful surprise. Thank you so much. Used a private Room. The minimal services made it easy and comfortable to stay without any fuss. I’d like to stay here again when I’m in the area.

Dinner was outstanding! Every dish served was delicious. I’d love to have the octopus steak and the simmered clams again. The mozuku seaweed was a variety I don’t usually see, and the recommended “Gyorokke” was also very satisfying. It’s an Accommodation for food lovers that I’d like to visit again.

The Room is very functional and easy to use. The bed is comfortably firm, so there’s no trouble sleeping. The bathtub is more than sufficient. The provided shampoo and other amenities are organic, which makes it very satisfying.

The staff were very friendly, and the check-in instructions were easy to understand. Even at this time of year, we were able to use the jacuzzi while the sun was out. The bathroom was clean, and we enjoyed a beautiful view in the morning, making for a very pleasant stay.
