The Onsen was excellent. The outdoor bath was a bit lukewarm, but it’s a great Onsen. It’s important not to apply too much mud—it won’t come off even after washing. After drying off, the towel still had mud on it. Still, you can tell the Onsen minerals soak into your body even after you get out. We had dinner in the dining area. The shabu-shabu didn’t really need to be eaten with egg. Overall, the pork fat was delicious. We ordered shochu, but “Sakura Sakura” was only available by the bottle. Drank too much... Breakfast was a mix of small dishes served in a basket and a buffet. You can eat well and feel satisfied. As for the Room, honestly it was disappointing. The main building is old, and the tatami mats sink when you step on them. If you’re only there to sleep it might not bother you, but since everything else is so good, it felt like a shame.

I made a Reservation and checked in because I wanted an Accommodation close to Banei horse racing with reasonably good Facilities. At the front desk, I was assisted by the man everyone talks about, and there were no particular issues. He listened to what I had to say. Some people may find him unfriendly, but he didn’t seem to mean anything by it—more like he was calmly doing his job. The hallway and Room feel a bit dated and somewhat dirty, but they are properly cleaned, and for this price it’s acceptable. When I come back to watch Banei horse racing next time, I’ll stay here again!

We stayed for one night before Obon as a trip to celebrate my mother-in-law's 88th birthday. Although it is a bit away from the stone-paved street, it was a quiet and charming accommodation. The staff were friendly and kind with warm smiles! The room was spacious, and the meals were delicious. The attentive service by the dining staff was very much appreciated. The bath included an indoor open-air option, and there were various hair dryers from different brands available to try out, which was great! Near the front desk, there were board games that everyone could enjoy together. I would love to visit again if I have the chance!

I stayed on a weekday. There was no wait at reception, and I was able to go to my Room smoothly. The Room is old, but it was properly cleaned and tidy. Amenities in each Room were limited to a toothbrush, towels, and a yukata, but there seemed to be more available in the Onsen changing room. Wi-Fi works, but when I ran a speed test the download speed was around 8 Mbps. Since it was about this fast on a quiet day, I wouldn’t expect much on busy days. For dinner, I chose the charcoal-grilled seafood set. It included crab, scallops, salmon, squid, vegetables, and also sashimi. Since there was udon included I didn’t ask for it, but it seems rice is provided as well. You can also order additional dishes or sake tasting sets for an extra charge. The Onsen felt like it was privately reserved just for me. It’s a great Onsen, and being able to use one of that size alone might actually be a rare opportunity. I think I saw other Reviews mentioning cold shower water; if it’s nearly private-use only, the pipes may have cooled down due to low usage. For about one minute only cold water came out, but after that it worked normally. The sauna did not seem to be available due to COVID-19 prevention measures. Overall, considering the Accommodation Fee level (value for money), this Hotel offers high satisfaction with dinner, breakfast (included), and the Onsen—great cost performance/value for money overall. The Facilities are somewhat dated throughout which is slightly noticeable; aside from that point my satisfaction level was high.

The property is within walking distance from the station. The reception staff are kind and attentive. While the building feels a bit old, it is sufficient for just staying overnight. Having a bidet would make it even better.

I used this accommodation for the first time as my regular accommodation was unavailable. It is conveniently located near the station, well-organized, and the staff were kind, which made me satisfied. Breakfast was included; although there weren't many options, it was delicious. I would like to use it again next time.

I stayed for one night starting September 28. Since the accommodation offered rental bicycles, I walked from Karuizawa Station to the accommodation (about 10 minutes), left my luggage at the front desk, and rented a bicycle to go out. (The cost was 1,650 yen per day or 2,450 yen for an electric bike as I recall.) Renting a bicycle directly from the hotel made it very convenient as I didn’t have to walk back after returning it. Although the building felt a bit old, the room seemed renovated with new tatami mats and comfortable beds. It was refreshing to see beds placed on tatami mats, allowing me to relax both on the bed and on the tatami floor. I also felt secure placing my luggage directly on the tatami mats. Complimentary bottled water (one per person) and apple snacks were provided in the room. At reception, items like stick coffee packets, facial cleansers, and lotions were available for individual pickup. As there was no private bath in my room, I used the public bathhouse instead. The bathhouse was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body soap—offered in about three varieties—which were quite sufficient. However, having makeup remover would have been even better. There were only two hair dryers available in total; they lacked power so drying long hair might take some time. A water dispenser was also provided near the bath area which allowed me to rehydrate after bathing—a nice touch. Breakfast included medicinal porridge dishes along with pork miso soup (tonjiru), grilled salmon, and various side dishes—all of which were satisfying! For those who don’t prefer porridge though white rice substitutions are possible upon request; coffee too could be self-served freely during breakfast hours! Overall experience staying here proved pleasant & enjoyable enough that I'd certainly consider returning again someday!

The room was very clean and provided a comfortable stay. The meal was a crab course, and there was more crab than expected, which made it very satisfying. It was an experience worth more than the price. We also received a pass for visiting public baths, allowing us to enjoy them even after checkout. I would love to stay here again.

Given the location, I didn’t have high expectations, but the Room was clean and the reception staff were excellent, making for a very pleasant stay. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was very satisfying. I didn’t use the large public bath, but my partner who did seemed very pleased.

The Room was clean, and the service was excellent. The morning greetings from the young man cleaning and the woman were particularly memorable. It gave me a sense of reassurance to see them working while being attentive to their surroundings.

The room was of good quality for the price.

We stayed as a family of five. It is in a quiet area near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, so we were able to relax. There was a private courtyard, and the view was lovely. Since there were five of us, it felt a bit cramped once three futons were laid out in the tatami room, but considering the price, we were able to stay at a very reasonable rate. We would like to stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

I had no issues during my stay.

The private room is spacious enough for a bed and unpacking, with large windows that let in plenty of light. The simplicity of the room felt refreshing. There is space for a large suitcase, additional storage areas, shelves above eye level, and below them are a TV, refrigerator, and trash bin. While there are no amenities such as yukata or pajamas or even tissues provided, the bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. For me, it was sufficient accommodation at this price point. The flooring felt slightly rough but was easily cleaned with my own wet wipes. Handwritten guides in English and Korean were placed around the accommodation, creating a friendly atmosphere. Due to time constraints, I couldn't use the bath but used one of the shower rooms located on floors 1–3 instead. The changing area was spacious and clean as well as the shower itself—very comfortable overall. I stayed for one night from Saturday afternoon check-in until early Sunday morning after returning late at night by train; it was completely quiet throughout my stay allowing me to sleep soundly without any disturbances. It would have been perfect if there had been an elevator.

I stayed for two nights. It was a shared dormitory Room, but it was relatively spacious and more than adequate. The common areas were clean and tidy, and I was satisfied with them as well. I deducted one star because I happened to encounter an eccentric guest, but otherwise it was a very satisfying stay. I’d like to stay again!

Now that our kids have grown up and no longer spend their summer vacation tied up with sports clubs and team activities, three families were able to get together for the first time in eight years. Considering the extreme heat and our age, we gave up on tent camping and chose an easy, comfortable stay in a lodge. Since it looked like it might rain, the Accommodation staff secured a BBQ area for us in advance, and we really appreciated how they also accommodated a sudden increase in our group size. We were also grateful that we could dispose of the BBQ trash. The bath water is brownish with an iron scent. It warms you up wonderfully. Maybe thanks to the Onsen, my makeup went on better the next morning. It would have been even better if bathing hours were available until 11:00 p.m. The three horses were friendly and adorable. When we petted them around the neck, they leaned into us, which made them even more lovable. The staff were very kind, and we had a great trip.

On this occasion, we stayed here to celebrate our grandchild’s 20th birthday. The moment we opened the Room door, the two of us were amazed—it was a surprising maisonette-style Room. And then another surprise: we were astonished and truly moved by the towel art. It was a truly wonderful Room. Everything was wonderful, and the staff’s service was excellent as well. We are planning to stay again next year with our daughter and our grandchild’s family. Thank you very much.

Stayed in a twin room. Included a 1000 yen meal voucher, but we didn't use the dining area. The reason was that we found a highly-rated restaurant nearby. We used the meal voucher for takeout snacks instead. As it's a Route Inn, the room's design is standard across locations. The cleaning was thorough and well-maintained. There is a Seven-Eleven convenience store right in front of the accommodation. For dining options: - A Japanese restaurant "Suginoya Honjin" right in front, - McDonald's and KFC nearby, - The restaurant we visited called "Kikurin," - And an izakaya (Japanese pub) within one of the restaurants where you can also dine. You won't have trouble finding places to eat around here. On our trip: On day one, after shopping in Mashiko, we stayed overnight at this accommodation. On day two, we visited Hitachi Fudoki-no-Oka Shrine and Amabiki Kannon Temple before heading to Tsukuba Mountain's eastern side for soba noodles on Ishioka Soba Street before returning home. We would love to stay here again!
