This was my first stay since the renovation. Not only is everything beautifully updated, but the amenities are well stocked, and I was truly happy that even the single room has a separate bath and toilet.

The traditional Japanese house atmosphere was wonderful, and the interior was kept very clean. I enjoyed a unique ambiance and relaxing time that I don't usually experience in daily life. Although I was slightly disappointed as the bath looked like a hinoki cypress bath in the photos, it turned out not to be one, but it was still clean and pleasant. If I visit Hida Takayama again, I would love to stay here once more.

The staff was truly kind when I went to drop off my luggage before check-in. When the stargazing event was canceled due to bad weather, they informed me about the possible times when stars might be visible from the Hotel. The Room was clean, and the meals were delicious. Thank you very much!

It was about a 3-minute walk from the station, which was convenient for departure the next day as well. Although it was small, there was an Onsen, and it helped relieve travel fatigue. The breakfast buffet also had a wide variety of options and was satisfying. If I had to mention one thing, it was a bit inconvenient that there was no place to put luggage in the Room. I think even a foldable luggage rack would be helpful.

I stayed here during my trip to Tokyo. The facility included a kitchen and microwave, and the location was quiet, allowing me to relax. The area is near the lively Shin-Okubo district, where I enjoyed Korean cuisine. The room lighting was slightly dim, which was a bit inconvenient, but everything else was comfortable. I would like to stay here again.

The service is pleasant, and the Room is clean and well maintained, making for a comfortable stay.

My first time staying at this kind of place… I made a Reservation at MATERIAL Fucho-mae because I had plans in Nijo. After finishing up, I walked to the Hotel… with Nijo Castle on my left, following along the castle walls. There was a supermarket on the way, which was convenient for shopping, and if you stick to the main road it’s an easy walk to the Hotel. Across from the Hotel was the convenience store I’d seen on the map, and there was also a restaurant next door as described—overall, it was easy to find and very straightforward to reach. Since I had completed pre-check-in in advance, I went straight to my Room as soon as I arrived. But is this a one-floor private Hotel? It seemed like all Rooms were on the 4th floor. I took the elevator up… and when I got out, it was immediately my Room—at that point I was convinced the entire 4th floor is exclusively for guests staying there. This really was my first time experiencing something like that. I stayed one night before Kyoto’s Accommodation Tax increase. It wasn’t what I expected, so it actually felt kind of fun. I booked a Plan with breakfast included, and what surprised me even more was that breakfast (bread) had already been placed in the Room for the next morning. However, it looked like two pieces of bread per person… which honestly wasn’t enough. I’d really appreciate improvement on that point. That said, writing all this means it’s become a Hotel I’d like to visit again. I also stopped by the bar using the welcome drink ticket we received during our stay—the bartender was friendly and great to talk with. Just one issue: it felt like there should have been a full set of loungewear (top and bottom), but only the top was provided. Also, since no staff were always present at reception, there wasn’t an easy way to contact anyone about it—that part was a bit disappointing. Still, since we were staying as a family group anyway, having only a top wasn’t really inconvenient for us. Check-out was simple—just drop the room key into the post box—and we left after closing up ourselves since there wasn’t staff on site at all times. Overall though, we were satisfied with our stay. Next time we visit again, please take another look at breakfast portions—thank you! That concludes my Review.

Overall, the staff were kind, and it was a good Hotel! The breakfast was also delicious. The mirror in the room was slightly dirty, and the showerhead in the bathroom was small and a bit inconvenient to use, so I slightly lowered my rating. However, it wasn't a significant issue, and my stay was comfortable.

I contacted them because I had entered the wrong Reservation date, but they kindly accommodated the sudden schedule change. When I arrived at the Hotel, a different staff member assisted me than on the phone, but everything had been properly handed over. Despite my mistake, they treated me with great kindness.

This was my first stay at a container-style Hotel. It was on par with a Business Hotel, and I had no issues at all. The container may shake when large vehicles pass nearby, but it doesn’t happen all the time, so it didn’t bother me. The Room felt surprisingly cold even during Golden Week, so the structure may be more affected by outside temperatures. However, it has air conditioning and heating, so there was no problem. I booked No Meals Included, but the complimentary frozen meals were very helpful! I chose mapo tofu. There’s also a microwave in the Room, which is convenient. I’d like to use this Hotel again if I have the chance.

There were various restrictions, but considering it as a guesthouse-style Accommodation, it was a good stay. It is an Accommodation that helps guests re-recognize proper manners, and I feel it represents what such an Accommodation should be. Also, given the location, I was able to wake up pleasantly to birdsong. The meals were home-style and delicious. If I may offer one comment: I understand it may be difficult with the current style, but if the sense of cleanliness could be improved just a little more, it would be an impeccable Accommodation. I would like to stay here again when visiting the area. Thank you very much.

I stayed here after looking for a budget-friendly place at the last minute. The amenities were fine, though there were no towels provided. The breakfast toast sandwich was incredibly delicious, and I’d love to have it again. The family-run atmosphere, with small children around, made the stay feel very cozy and welcoming. The Room and unit bath were clean, so I had no issues staying here. One minor disappointment was that I expected a family bath based on the website but found it out of service. Also, since it's not an extremely hot area, there was no air conditioning; however, having at least a fan would have been nice for slightly warm afternoons.

I found this place while searching mainly for an Onsen, and since it also offers Accommodation at a reasonable price, I decided to visit. The Onsen was spacious and had a sauna, so I could relax. The entire Facility was kept very clean, and the staff were warm and welcoming—I was more than satisfied for the price. I don’t get to come to this area often, but I’ll stop by again next time.

At the entrance, we were welcomed by motifs of Tentoki and Ryutoki. The stone garden “Yusentei,” Aizen Garden, and Tosentei were wonderful after the rain. The Onsen was natural, but unfortunately the open-air bath was too dark to see well. The carbonate spring bath was out of order and could not be used. The shojin-ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) was very delicious. The morning service was easy to join, which was nice. What was disappointing was that some guests speaking Chinese did not bring towels into the bath at all; they then left without drying off, leaving the floor soaked. They also brought canned beer and similar drinks into the shojin-ryori meal area to drink. In addition, they talked loudly on their phones with friends while using the Wi-Fi for a long time and seemed to take up most of the bandwidth, so it could not be used properly. The staff’s response was good; even if they were not Japanese, there were no problems as long as you spoke with them. Finally, I was surprised that the Room key is secured from inside with a simple latch/bolt. In terms of security, it felt like self-management is expected.

It would be even better if there were a large public bath. A unit bath is a bit… But it’s been helpful.

I visited during a solo motorcycle trip. Since it was near a ski resort, it seemed off-season, so there were few guests, and I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. Although I chose a no-meal Plan, I received complimentary coffee and freshly baked croissants in the morning. The croissants were freshly baked and delicious. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Our stay coincided with the traditional event "Owatari" in Shinojima. At check-in, we were informed that there would be a time when the entire island turns off its lights to align with the gods' procession. For about 20 minutes during dinner, the lights went out, and we enjoyed our meal using the provided candlelight and our phone lights. Although it was surprising at first, it turned out to be a rare and enjoyable experience. As mentioned in reviews, the food was delicious, and the facility was impeccably clean. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

I found this accommodation on Google Maps and stayed here. The room was cleaner and more comfortable than I expected. The walls seemed a bit thin as I could hear some noise from the neighboring room. The staff were kind, and considering the price, it’s a good accommodation.

Shuttle Service, two meals, a towel, and one drink were included for around 10,000 yen. It was very reasonable, close to the sea, and the view from the Room was fantastic. There are also sightseeing spots like the Anmo Observatory, which made the experience excellent. I would love to visit again.

I stayed here after being captivated by the night-view photos of the Onsen. Since this was a family trip with small children, I wasn’t expecting a luxury Ryokan, but because it’s located where you can take in a sweeping view of Toyama City (and even across to Imizu City), I never got tired of the scenery—sunrise, sunset, and night. Honestly, this location is truly one of a kind and priceless; it was far better than staying at some mediocre high-end Ryokan. I’ll upload my clumsy photos, but in person it’s 10 or 20 times more impressive. On the way to the Onsen there is a corridor explaining the history of the Kureha Hills, and I could really feel how much care and affection the staff have for this place and for this Hotel. The Facility is certainly Showa-era in style, but that actually made me feel even more attached to it. I felt genuinely happy to have discovered—and stayed at—this kind of Hotel. I also want to mention the breakfast buffet. Above all, I was amazed at how delicious the rice was. That wonderful white rice with miso soup and grilled fish in the morning—along with sides like okra and vinegared dishes—was something I truly enjoyed. Depending on where you’re going, if you plan to visit Toyama City or nearby Imizu City or Takaoka City, this is definitely a great choice. My kids absolutely loved Kodomo Mirai-kan at Taikoyama Land, so we’ll probably go back to Toyama next year—and when we do, I definitely want to stay at this Hotel again.
