Although it is small, the family-run Accommodation offers friendly, welcoming service, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. It does feel a bit dated in places, but the renovated private open-air bath and the Room (with a large TV) were excellent, and the meals were beautifully presented—we were completely satisfied. It’s an Accommodation we’d love to return to. If I had to mention one thing, it would have been even better if we could use that open-air bath in the morning as well.

From the kind guidance before our stay to the Room layout, Facility, and amenities, we felt thoughtful care in every detail and enjoyed a warm, happy time. We are simply grateful to the wonderful staff. Also, when you stay here, don’t forget to bring your pajamas!

As a returning guest, I can say this is a truly unique and charming accommodation. You can enjoy delicious meals and private hot spring baths with natural flowing water, available 24 hours a day. There are four types of indoor and outdoor baths (sometimes reduced to two or three depending on the number of guests). The staff's hospitality strikes the perfect balance—not too intrusive yet attentive—making it ideal even for those who might find the homey atmosphere of pensions less appealing compared to hotels. I highly recommend giving it a try; it will pleasantly surprise you. Additionally, the bus stop for Kamikochi is very close by, and if you drive further into the area, you'll find Azami Pond and Dojo Pond—perfect spots for casual walks without needing full hiking gear.

I especially enjoyed chatting with the front desk staff, and it was a cozy, hidden-gem Accommodation where I felt very comfortable. I also had some of the bread on the second floor, and it was delicious. It was very helpful that they could store my luggage even after check-out. When I visit Ise again, I would definitely like to stay here!

We stayed at this Accommodation again around the same time as last year with the same group (3 people). We were given a spacious Room with two connected rooms, which was great. The air conditioning worked throughout the building, and everything was thoroughly cleaned, making our stay very comfortable. The only minor concern—something we noticed last time as well—was that the toilet paper tears very easily, which was a bit stressful. Thank you very much.

The Room was spacious and well cleaned, and I was able to relax comfortably. Thank you very much. One concern was that there were no lockers in the bathroom, so I had to put my clothes in a basket; it seemed fine while I was bathing, but I still felt a bit uneasy. I could have left my key at the front desk, but it felt like a hassle so I didn’t. Overall, everything was very good.

The views were great, the room was clean, and the Facilities were well equipped—overall, it was excellent. The village chief’s hospitality was also wonderful. It was a shame that Mt. Fuji was hidden, but we would love to stay again.

It was very good. Above all, the service felt warm and genuine. The bath was a little small, but overall I’m satisfied.

We stayed as a family of three with our 1-year-and-4-month-old child. The Room interior was stylish and very clean! There were two beds (semi-double? double?), and we had plenty of space to sleep comfortably even with our child. The bath and toilet were separate, and the bathroom was spacious, clean, and great. There was also a mini kitchen, and they provided a pot, so we could boil water! We even bought cup noodles at the LAWSON right in front and ate them… (we did!) At check-in, we could choose our preferred shampoo and other amenities. They also had manga! You can bring them to your Room! ONE PIECE… Demon Slayer… etc. The next day, we picked up some delicious umeboshi at the souvenir shop on the first floor! It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could truly relax. *Amenities: microwave, air purifier, mugs, dish soap, sponge, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer, refrigerator (no freezer), TV*

I stayed here for one night with my two children and my mother before visiting my mother’s family home. We planned to find a nice place to eat on the way, so we didn’t need meals, and this Hotel was perfect. The inside was much more spacious than you would imagine from the outside, and our family was able to relax comfortably. The occasional sound of passing trains added a nice atmosphere, and otherwise it was truly quiet with no other noise at all. In Hotels or Ryokan, voices and sounds from next door often carry a lot, but this place was very comfortable in that respect. When we had an issue during our stay, they replied quickly by email; even without meeting in person, their service felt pleasant and trustworthy. There are plenty of useful shops nearby as well, and I would like to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

The exterior is a two-story house, while the interior features a rescue cat shelter and accommodation with a warehouse-style design. Staff are always on-site to care for the cats. The accommodation feels like an added bonus. It is in a condominium style, fully equipped with a kitchen, refrigerator, tableware, and detergent. Water in the refrigerator is free of charge. Alcoholic beverages are also available at very affordable supermarket-level prices. Guests can cook if they bring their own ingredients. The TV allows access to YouTube and other streaming services. The bathroom does not have reheating functionality, and there is a strong odor from the drainpipe. The sauna outside was not used during our stay. The toilet is clean, and the washroom offers hotel-quality amenities. Original pajamas (top and bottom) are provided for each guest. For multiple night stays, linen changes are available upon request. The shelter area connects via an enclosed corridor with double locks; it can be accessed freely between 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Guests can assist with breakfast or dinner preparation for the cats if desired; however, as nearly 60 cats live together in one room, there is quite a strong smell present throughout that area. If doors to the accommodation section are left open, odors may spread into that space as well. While functional as a shelter facility for rescued cats, it cannot be described as entirely hygienic—cleaning of litter boxes appears infrequent. Please note this location operates differently from "cat cafes," so expectations should align accordingly. In conclusion: unless you absolutely adore cats beyond measure—this experience might not suit everyone’s preferences! However passionate feline enthusiasts will likely find themselves returning repeatedly despite challenges faced amidst what could only humorously yet aptly described perhaps akin-to-a-cat-heaven-or-chaos scenario!

I brought my own toothbrush and sleepwear, and since there was only a shower I rated it 3–4 stars, but the location was excellent and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. A morning walk along the river is highly recommended.

We visited as a group of six: a family of four with two brothers (an older brother in kindergarten and a younger brother who will soon turn 2), plus grandpa and grandma. Our younger child is at an age where he can’t sit still, so even eating out is usually a bit challenging. That’s why we chose this Accommodation, where we could relax without worrying about others. It turned out to be truly wonderful. At a regular park you have to constantly worry about kids running off, but here the area is enclosed, which was such a relief! Some of the play equipment was still a bit advanced for our 1-year-old, but there was also a swing and plenty of outdoor toys, so I think he had an amazing time. They also had various toys prepared indoors, so we didn’t have any “I don’t want to go inside!!” tantrums either. We were grateful they even provided bath bombs! Our kids were thrilled with Thomas toys, drawing on the windows, and the night lights too. Our plan was to arrive around noon to play outside and then start BBQ when check-in time came—but around noon it was still drizzling. After seeing the yard, the kids went straight into “we want to play anyway” mode and played while getting a little wet. When the rain got heavier partway through, we headed to a nearby supermarket for a while. By the way, bringing sneakers, sandals, and rain boots for this trip turned out to be the right choice! On our stay date it stopped raining during BBQ time so it worked out fine, but we did find ourselves wishing there were more cover extending over where the tables are set up. Of course there’s some effort involved in preparing most things ourselves, but having energetic kids and not needing to worry about other guests’ eyes made it genuinely stress-free. This was the most relaxing and enjoyable trip with children we’ve ever had!

A cozy, family-run Accommodation. A supermarket is nearby, and you’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks. I’ll be visiting Karumai several times for work this year, so I’ll stay here again.

I decided on a trip to Niigata with my wife and was looking for a place with a private sauna for at least one night when I found "HOTEL SOBOKU." It was about two hours from Niigata City, located in a serene rural area surrounded by mountains. This is an amazing Hotel offering private accommodations, each equipped with its own sauna Facility. Filling the spacious bathtub with water and soaking in it after the sauna provided the ultimate relaxation. There were also outdoor chairs in the courtyard for cooling off, and experiencing this time of complete tranquility made all stress disappear instantly—it’s something I still vividly remember. The room had a grill for barbecues, so we enjoyed dinner using the BBQ set ingredients we had requested beforehand. Even though my wife and I don’t usually do BBQs, we could easily follow the detailed instructions provided to enjoy this experience. After dinner, we relaxed on Yogibo cushions while watching movies projected onto a screen. For breakfast, we prepared delicious meals using the ingredients provided along with clear instructions. Thanks to not only the private sauna but also all of these thoughtful arrangements, we were able to create truly wonderful travel memories.

Positive points: - Everything is provided, so you only need to bring a change of clothes (great for long stays). - The special feeling of renting out the entire hotel. - Overall cleanliness and comfort. - Surrounded by nature, completely free from noise. - Polite and attentive phone and email support from the management company. Points of concern: - Being in nature means there are many insects (but insect repellents are provided). - Missing screws for assembling the BBQ set made it unusable. - It would be better to list more details about what is available on the website (such a great place deserves more promotion). All guests unanimously said they would love to visit again!

I stayed here during the Nebuta Festival. While looking for an Accommodation at the last minute, everywhere was charging “Nebuta Festival” rates, but I was able to find this place and stay here. Surrounded by nature and in cool weather, I was able to relax and enjoy a slow pace of time. To my surprise, the owner is from my hometown and was very friendly and easy to talk to. The Shuttle Service to the Nebuta venue was also greatly appreciated. Whether it’s during the Nebuta Festival or not, I will definitely recommend this place to friends planning a trip to Aomori. It was our first time in Nagasaki, and we visited as a family. We chose this Accommodation because we wanted to sleep together on tatami mats rather than stay at a Hotel. The Room was spotless, the futons were clean, and towels and amenities were well provided. Dinner and breakfast were excellent—true to its kappo style, with great care taken in the ingredients. The proprietress was friendly and easy to talk to, and the place has the charm of a good old Ryokan. Unzen and Shimabara are also wonderful areas, and we made great memories at the end of our trip. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

The meals (monkfish hot pot and sashimi) were fresh and delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Facility (Room and Onsen) was well cleaned and felt very clean. One downside was that the huge cliff by the parking area in front of the Ryokan felt imposing and a bit scary, but we did not see any cracks or similar issues. If I have the chance, I would like to visit again.

We stayed for two nights starting on the 14th. What amazed us most was how lavish both dinner and breakfast were! So much sashimi—freshly caught in the Hyuga-nada—and an endless variety of dishes made with truly fresh fish. The “fresh sashimi” you eat in Hakone, Atami, or Boso doesn’t even compare to the sashimi at this Accommodation—it’s that delicious! The difference in quality was so striking that we were simply moved and amazed again and again. It’s almost too good—after this, you won’t be able to eat supermarket sashimi anymore (in the best way), haha. And on a clear day, the view from the Room is absolutely breathtaking! The scenery is so beautiful it makes you not want to step outside even once. The owner’s thoughtfulness is also incredible. The marinated seafood rice bowl was outstanding, and when I casually said it was so good I wanted to have it again, he remembered—and served it at our final breakfast. He also sent us off with his homemade mochi rolls filled with sweet red bean paste that my husband raved about as “amazing!” Even though he runs everything on his own, I couldn’t help wondering how he manages to be this attentive—it impressed us all over again. There isn’t an Onsen or a large public bath, and there may not be any flashy features—but soaking in the bath while gazing at the stars from your Room is wonderful, and you can spend your time in complete peace and quiet. This Accommodation comes highly recommended! We definitely want to stay again. Thank you for helping make our trip so special.
