Because our previous stay was so enjoyable, we returned. The Room, service, and hot spring Facility were all very comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared in a way that really highlighted the quality of the ingredients. The sweets in the Room and the herbal tea before bed were soothing for both body and mind. It’s been a long time since I’ve slept so deeply and felt this well-rested. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but my skin even seems to be in better condition. We would love to stay again.

It rained on the day of our stay, but the view from the upper salon of the rain-soaked, deep-green garden was wonderful and very soothing. Just as in the Reviews, every dish was delicious and truly impressive. The grilled ayu in particular was thoughtfully prepared and excellent. The cleanliness and service were impeccable. If I had to mention one thing, the large public bath felt a bit plain, so I think it would be even better with a little more atmosphere. I hope to visit again in a different season. We stayed here for a family trip to celebrate a 60th birthday. The Room called “En” had wonderful views and beautiful furnishings, allowing us to forget everyday life and fully enjoy the relaxed pace of Amami. Above all, every meal was delicious, and we could really feel the care put into using local ingredients and pesticide-free produce—it was outstanding.

This was my sixth visit in total, and I am grateful to be moved every time. Thanks to the variety of rooms and the warm hospitality of all the staff, I’m able to experience the sense of escape from everyday life that I value when traveling. Above all, what impresses me every time is the food. The dinner menu has never been the same even once, and the seasonal dishes have become the highlight of my stay. Considering recent increases in ingredient costs across many areas, I’m truly impressed and thankful to see the chef’s extraordinary creativity and ingenuity reflected in each meal. One note of caution: because the food is so outstanding, you may end up drinking more than usual—so if you enjoy alcohol, a bit of self-control is recommended (lol).

This was our second stay as a couple with our dog. Because it is a private rental house with exterior walls, we didn’t have to worry about the surroundings and were able to relax and enjoy a luxurious time in the Room. For meals, the ingredients were prepared in the refrigerator and we cooked for ourselves, but the recipes made it easy to prepare everything smoothly. We also appreciated that the menu was different on the second night, so we never got bored. The staff were very polite and kind. Even if we had questions, we could reach them by phone, which made us feel at ease throughout our stay. It was also great fun chatting during check-in and check-out. Our dog looked happy from start to finish. It was an Accommodation that makes us want to come back again for sure.

We stayed to celebrate the youngest of our three sons’ birthday—this was about our fifth visit. The room has evolved into a family room, and with the slide, swing, and bouldering wall, they played nonstop. All three were very happy and said they want to come again and stay again. I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa. From arrival to departure, the staff treated us with great care, and we had a very pleasant stay. The service was impeccable. The Room retains the charm of a traditional Japanese house while offering a calm, spacious layout for relaxing. In addition to the deck, there is also an area with a sofa where you can sit and take in the outdoor scenery at your leisure, which made it easy to unwind. Unfortunately, it rained quite heavily during our stay, so we couldn’t enjoy the deck as much as we had hoped. The Onsen was also wonderful—you can soak in free-flowing natural hot spring water whenever you like. The bathtub was spacious enough to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. There is a separate shower room in front of the bathing area as well, which made it convenient to wash before getting into the tub. What left the strongest impression on us in particular was the cuisine. Fresh seafood was used generously, and every dish was absolutely delicious. Although we weren’t blessed with good weather this time and couldn’t see the sunset we had been looking forward to, we still thoroughly enjoyed simply spending time at this Accommodation. Being able to relax so comfortably even on a rainy day may be something unique to Ujo Soan. We were highly satisfied with everything—service, Room, Onsen, and meals—and it’s an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

In-room dining and a private open-air bath in the Room made it a completely private space. The meals were delicious. This Accommodation was great for families with small children, as you can relax and enjoy your stay without worrying about others. It was a bit difficult to do makeup, so having a handheld mirror would be helpful.

At IKYU, it was categorized as casual, but we enjoyed a luxurious Onsen experience that felt like staying at a private villa. The Room had a spacious washroom, and the toilet being separate was also convenient. The heater in the Room was turned on in advance, so we stayed warm without needing to use the air conditioner. Various thoughtful touches were noticeable throughout, and I heard that adjustments are made regularly. It had such a pleasant atmosphere that made us wish to stay longer. Here are some points of concern: It would be helpful if spare foot mats were provided for the private bath so they can be replaced after use. The abundance of wash towels was very convenient. A single fresh flower in the Room would add charm since there were flowers in the dining area. During meal service, providing more details about local ingredients or cooking methods would be appreciated by travelers—it may require extra effort from staff but makes for enjoyable conversations while savoring meals. Having a menu list would also enhance the dining experience further.

We had an incredibly fulfilling stay. From the interior and exterior design to the furniture, decor, fixtures, amenities, lawn, and open grounds, this was a wonderfully comfortable Facility where you can feel the attention to detail everywhere. The interior is unified in a calm design, with very high ceilings that create an airy sense of openness, allowing us to fully enjoy a special time away from everyday life. The vanity area and bathroom were especially spacious and impressive—made with high-quality materials and kept impeccably clean down to every corner. The amenities also felt thoughtfully chosen; for example, Aesop hand soap was provided at the sink. All essential cookware and appliances were available, so we could stay comfortably without any inconvenience. We even enjoyed handheld fireworks in the garden. The views of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps were also stunning—scenery you could gaze at for hours without noticing time pass. Most memorable of all were the wood-fired sauna and cold plunge bath. The wood-fired sauna was exceptional—enjoying it while feeling the flicker of flames, hearing the crackle of burning logs, and breathing in the scent of wood was truly special. Unlike an electric heater, it had a gentle heat that warmed us slowly from deep within and helped us relax completely. A large amount of sauna stones were thoroughly heated, so we could also enjoy pleasant steam from löyly. It’s an ideal setup that I would highly recommend even to dedicated sauna lovers. They added ice to the cold plunge bath multiple times for us, so we could cool down properly. Paired with the wood-fired sauna, it was perfect—we fully enjoyed every session. In the evening we enjoyed a BBQ, and we really appreciated that the owner prepared everything—from lighting the fire to setting everything up. On top of that, we received a generous gift of fresh vegetables grown by his wife. They were all rare varieties you don’t often see day-to-day, and you could feel careful attention not only in each vegetable but also in their labels and packaging. We tried them right away at our BBQ—especially the eggplant, which was unbelievably tender and delicious. Beyond how wonderful both the Facility itself and its location are, we were truly moved by the owners’ thoughtful hospitality as well. In this extraordinary setting—with beautiful views, a wood-fired sauna experience like no other،and BBQ—we spent a luxurious yet deeply comfortable time here. We would love to stay again. This Hotel was truly exceptional, with breathtaking Hayama views and the warm hospitality of the staff. The Misaki-grown longtooth grouper served at dinner was especially memorable—the chef’s cooking was perfect, and I was genuinely impressed. The plump, tender white flesh and rich fat that melted in my mouth were unforgettable. With wonderful cuisine and outstanding service, it became a truly special stay. Thank you very much.

This time, I stayed with my parents. In a word, it is a refined Accommodation—like a hidden retreat for adults. The lobby has high ceilings and an open, airy feel, with beautifully maintained gardens. Tasteful jazz plays from a glass vacuum-tube audio system. The staff are calm and friendly. When I mentioned at dinner that I am left-handed, the younger staff shared the information, and they had chopsticks set accordingly at breakfast the next morning—I was truly happy. Small touches like this mean a lot to guests. “Quality” includes the building and furnishings, of course, but what moves guests and makes them want to return is hospitality above all else. The meals were excellent, and the selection of alcoholic drinks was also outstanding. The tableware had great taste as well. My mother said the portion sizes were just right and she could fully enjoy them. That night all three of us said, “Let’s come again.” More than anything flashy, quietness, genuine hospitality from the staff, and delicious food are what make an Accommodation truly exceptional. I would love to visit again during pufferfish season.

I first learned about this Accommodation in a travel magazine and had wanted to visit for years. From the moment I made my Reservation, the staff reached out several times with thoughtful messages, which felt truly warm and welcoming. I’m grateful for their kind advice on transportation as well as nearby recommended spots and restaurants. Set on a vast property, the Accommodation offers wonderful views, and I was thrilled to encounter deer while strolling around. The Onsen had excellent water quality, the Facility was well maintained, and I was able to unwind and soothe my fatigue while enjoying the scenery. A local regular I spoke with in the bath said they stay here every month—I couldn’t help but envy them. It was an outstanding Accommodation where both mind and body could fully relax. I would love to visit again. Every staff member was gentle and attentive, and their hospitality made it possible for me to truly feel at ease throughout my stay—each day felt happy. This was my first stay at this Hotel, which offers the special opportunity to take part in Eiheiji’s zazen meditation and morning service. I was deeply moved by the cleansing, uplifting experience. In the stillness of early morning at Eiheiji, the crisp air filled the temple grounds; seeing so many trainee monks perform their service with such care, and the beauty of moss illuminated by the morning sun—these were all sights you can only experience because you are there so early, and because you stay overnight. I’m truly glad I came. The meals were also wonderful; even without meat or fish, I was completely satisfied by how delicious the vegetables were. The Room and bath were clean and well maintained, everything was spotless, and everyone at the Accommodation greeted us with warm smiles and attentive service—making this a trip I will never forget.

On August 7, with concerns about the impact of a strong typhoon, we headed to Kyotango—a trip we had been looking forward to for a long time. Due to my misunderstanding, I entered the entrance at 2:00 PM and found no one at the front desk. Of course—check-in starts at 3:00 PM. Even so, they assisted us right away and guided us to our Room in about 10 minutes. That was where I started causing trouble. I couldn’t wait for the dinner and breakfast that receive rave Reviews. Since we arrived early, I was also the first to use the large public bath. The view of the sea from the open-air bath was incredible. The right edge of the tub had a slope, so I assumed it was thoughtful design for children and elderly guests—but there was an identical slope on the left as well. Looking closer, I noticed the rim of the tub was curved: it was actually designed as a reclining bath. The slopes were made so you could lie back and still see the ocean. I enjoyed it alone, deeply impressed. Afterward, I had a canned beer and some complimentary sake (excellent) in the relaxation area and returned to our Room—then an accident happened: we received news of a death in our close family. After discussing with my wife, we decided to give up on breakfast we had been looking forward to. Since it took about 3 hours and 45 minutes on our way there, we asked at reception if we could leave early in the morning—and they kindly accommodated this as well. Dinner began while my mind was unsettled, but everything from the first appetizer onward was delicious, and my wife and I found ourselves exchanging smiles again and again. Partway through, we were guided outside to watch the sunset from the terrace—body, mind, and palate all completely satisfied. Despite our very early departure time, they even saw us off when we left. I was truly moved. We caused you so much inconvenience—thank you for giving us such an outstanding Accommodation experience.

This was my first stay here. From the atmosphere throughout the Accommodation to the service, thoughtful hospitality, and meals—everything was flawless in sight, aroma, and taste. It was a truly delicious and enjoyable time. The Onsen is compact, but the water quality is excellent and left my skin silky smooth. I’m grateful to have found an Accommodation I’ll definitely return to. Thank you very much.

We stayed here as a couple to celebrate a birthday. From the meals and baths to the Room amenities and Shuttle Service, everything was filled with hospitality, and they were flexible in accommodating our requests, making our stay truly enjoyable and happy. Some Accommodations offer inclusive bar drinks or well-equipped Rooms, but this place is on another level—we were able to enjoy an extraordinary sense of luxury. Despite concerns about the earthquake, I traveled from Tokyo to Takachiho. I had been planning for a long time to visit Takachiho again, so I decided to go—and I was relieved that there was hardly any impact and I could stay with peace of mind. I was satisfied with everything: the Facility, the meals—everything. First of all, I was surprised that the Room had not only indoor and outdoor baths but also a sauna. It was my first time in my life staying in a Room with a sauna. The meals were explained in a picture-story style, and each dish had its own story and attention to detail, making them both delicious and fun to enjoy. Personally, I especially recommend the salt-baked kappo chicken and the panna cotta. On top of that, there was plenty of playful creativity with a school-festival vibe, and above all it was blissful time surrounded by the staff’s smiles. Nearby are Takachiho Shrine, night kagura performances, and Takachiho Gorge where you can also take a boat ride—an extremely convenient location. Thank you very much.
