I booked a mixed-gender dorm this time, but the Accommodation kindly prepared a private room with a lock for me. The snoring from the guest right next door was a bit loud in the middle of the night, but that wasn’t the Accommodation’s fault, and I really appreciated their consideration. (If you’re sensitive to noise such as snoring, I recommend booking a fully private room—it costs a little more.) Amenities were well stocked, and the bed was comfortable. I used a discount coupon for the attached “Ramen Masago” at dinner, but since I wasn’t very hungry this time, I chose gyoza instead. Delicious and recommended. (Next time I might try the ramen too.) They also provide public bath tickets, and the building was clean and comfortable, so I could enjoy hiking the next day in great condition. There’s a supermarket nearby, and there’s also a spacious parking lot across from the Accommodation—overall great value for money. I’d like to stay again when I’m in this area. Anyway, I was amazed by the dinner menu. I truly enjoyed Chef Fujimoto’s cuisine. There’s no word that quite captures how good it was—“delicious” still isn’t enough. Honestly, the Room was simple, but the food made me want to come back. The bed was firm.

I had a relaxing stay at this locally-run accommodation. Since I visited Matsukawa Onsen beforehand, I didn’t use the bus. Thank you for accommodating me as a solo traveler. It was my first time at Appi Kogen, and it’s truly an amazing resort area. The atmosphere of the accommodation was also very pleasant. I didn’t get a chance to talk with the host this time, so please chat with me during my next stay!

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Although we arrived late at night, we were welcomed warmly and with great care. Thank you as well for the 1,000-yen voucher we could use at the newly opened shop inside the Hotel. While waiting for our ride after checkout, they even made us coffee. We would love to stay here again when we visit Tochigi. Thank you very much for everything.

Overall, it was excellent for this type of Accommodation. Dinner was a bit more than we could finish, but the seafood was very good. However, it was disappointing that the crab had very little meat.

A stylish two-story Hotel with a clean and relaxing interior. There is a simple but covered parking area for motorcycles, which was very helpful. On the day of arrival, there was heavy rain just before reaching the Hotel. If only I had arrived 10 minutes earlier...

The Airbnb review rating was excellent, so I decided to stay for the first time. The result was absolutely amazing! I experienced breathtaking views and an extraordinary atmosphere. The scenery of Awaji Island was truly stunning, especially the sunset from the terrace and the refreshing mornings, which became unforgettable memories. Enjoying such spectacular views in a private space felt like pure luxury beyond everyday life! The well-equipped facilities allowed me to fully relax. With a pool and sauna available, my whole family enjoyed an entire day together! Sweating it out in the sauna, diving into the pool, and feeling refreshed afterward was exceptional—it completely washed away all our daily fatigue. While visiting other accommodations on Awaji Island, I found that such wonderful facilities in a rental villa are quite rare.

The staff were very friendly, and they responded quickly to various requests. You check in at the Hotel and then head to the cottage, but there was no sign for the “Center House” shown on the map, so we couldn’t find it on site. We ended up taking the wrong road and had to turn back—walking back along a mountain path with our bags was scary. I wish it had been easier to understand. There were indeed a lot of insects, but three cans of insect spray were provided. However, there seemed to be a beehive above the sliding door on the veranda where you can barbecue, and our child was too scared to go outside—this was really a problem. The starry sky was beautiful, and it was nice that we could also set off fireworks.

The room was spacious enough for a family of four, and we were able to relax comfortably with the large bed. There was also a raised tatami area, and the round sofa in the living room was stylish. It felt different from a Business Hotel and had a unique sense of fun. We will stay again.

I stayed one night in the larger of the two Accommodation rooms. The Room is in one of two lodging buildings located slightly uphill from the reception and the private day-use Onsen area. The Onsen is about the size shown in the photos (around three tatami mats), with fresh hot water continuously flowing in. The Onsen room is separated from the outside by plastic shoji screens; when you open them all, you can enjoy the outdoor view like an open-air bath, soaking in an airy atmosphere while listening to birdsong. There is a ledge inside along the edge of the tub at a height you can sit on, so you can even lie back while bathing. Honestly, it feels unbelievably good! The shoji screens can also be locked, so it feels safe at night. 　There is also a balcony, and smokers are apparently asked to smoke there. There was absolutely no smell of cigarettes in the Room. The refrigerator includes a freezer compartment, and there is also a microwave and toaster oven. There didn’t seem to be anywhere nearby to eat, so we brought frozen meals for both dinner and breakfast, heated them in the microwave, and ate in the Room. The refrigerator had two free 500 mL bottles each of mineral water and sparkling water. It was nice to be able to hydrate during bathing as well. Two drip coffees are provided free of charge, and there’s also a teapot and tea cups for Japanese tea—excellent service overall. Wi‑Fi was fast and stress-free thanks to an in-room router. 　At night we could hear owls, and in the morning we woke up to birds such as bush warblers—an environment where you can truly enjoy nature. Some online Reviews mentioned that it was “cold,” but besides air conditioning there is also gas heating installed, so I don’t think it would feel cold even in winter. I visited in mid-May; I used cooling during daytime and heating at night on the air conditioner settings, which was comfortable. The bed had a down duvet, and mattress firmness was very comfortable as well—one of the best sleeps I’ve had among many Hotels. 　The hot spring water is clear and colorless with a relatively smooth feel. After arriving I enjoyed long Onsen baths right away, went again after dinner, then briefly before bed. The next day I woke early for another soak right away, then took one more long bath after breakfast. It’s perfect if your goal is simply quiet time soaking in an Onsen. 　This is an Onsen Accommodation I want to stay at again and again.”

I stayed for one night. It is a hotel like an apartment where you can cook and do laundry. The bath is separate from the toilet, and above all, it is clean and new, which I am very satisfied with. If I have a business trip planned in this area again, I will definitely stay here again.

You can relax and unwind at your own pace.

The Room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very delicious. If dinner is available, I would like to try it as well. I was very satisfied that they accommodated us from as early as 6:30 a.m. The bath is small and can get full with 2–4 people, but it is new and a good size. Since it operates on a rotating schedule for men and women, you need to pay attention to the time. It cannot be used in the morning or late at night, but since this is not a large Hotel, I think this is understandable from an operational standpoint. The location is also good, as convenience stores and roadside stations are within walking distance.

I stayed in a double room, and it was perfectly fine if you just need a place to sleep. I checked in late at night, and the staff kindly explained the check-in process, so I think it works well for business travelers as well as couples and married couples. It has a unique atmosphere you won’t find at other Business Hotels, but it has been nicely renovated and I was very satisfied. There is no TV, but these days a smartphone is enough, and I really liked the bed. I would like to stay again. *Please note: there are only shower rooms (no bathtub), so if you want to soak in a bath, this may not be suitable for you.*

The room is indeed small, but with various ingenious touches, it doesn't feel that way. The necessary services are well-equipped. I only used it for a day-use rest, so it was truly sufficient.

Wherever you travel domestically, start by looking for APA Hotel. It offers a sense of efficiency in every aspect. This time, I made a same-day Reservation due to work circumstances, and I was lucky to stay at a very reasonable price. I look forward to staying again in the future.

Master, thank you for such a fun and wonderful time. It was my first stay, but you listened to so many of our stories over drinks, and it was truly relaxing. You even celebrated my birthday and Mother’s Day with me—it was the most fulfilling time I’ve had in decades. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again at this Hotel.

It took more than 10 minutes to walk from Yokohama Station, partly because I had luggage. Also, it was my first time staying somewhere that did not offer luggage storage after check-out, so I should have confirmed this before making a Reservation. The unit bath in the Room was clean, but it felt quite small and not very easy to use.

I stayed for one night because a family member was being discharged early in the morning. It’s very convenient since it’s close to both the station and the hospital. I booked a non-smoking Room, and I wasn’t thrilled to learn there was a smoking area on the floor, but thankfully there was no cigarette smell. The unit bath was fairly spacious, and I also liked that the sink area was separate. However, due to my misunderstanding, I thought Kikonai also charged an Accommodation Tax, so I asked a male staff member at the front desk what the difference is between places that charge it and places that don’t. His response was basically “Why are you asking me?” When I looked into it more closely, it seems all of Hokkaido may be subject to an Accommodation Tax. I’ll check later, but since it’s a Hotel-related question, I would have appreciated an answer (sorry for my ignorance). Also, I wasn’t told that there were no amenities in the Room and that I needed to pick them up at the front desk. It was a hassle to go get them, but since I had stayed at a friend’s place until the day before and still had some with me, I used those instead. I’m glad I kept them with me rather than packing them away. There were cars with license plates from many different areas around Hokkaido, but the Hotel itself was quiet and nice. There are convenience stores and izakaya nearby as well, so it didn’t feel inconvenient. If I go to Kikonai again, I’d like to stay here again. One thing I found strange is why staying on Monday costs more than staying on Sunday. (Sorry again for my lack of knowledge.) Most other places are cheaper on weekdays—just something I wondered about.

We stayed with our 3-year-old child. Since we were in the LOCA THE CLASS Room, there was a sauna in the basement and a large bath that could fit about 4–5 people. Including the post-bath relaxation area, it was very spacious and thoughtfully designed. It was great that even with a child, we could bathe comfortably. There was also a refrigerator in the changing room, stocked with plenty of bottled water. It was very helpful to be able to drink cold water immediately after bathing or using the sauna without having to go up to the living room on the first floor. We didn’t use them, but there were also powdered drinks provided for before and after the sauna. The living room was spacious as well, and there were two bedrooms. The Japanese-style Room had a tatami area that became almost full once two futons were laid out, which made it feel safe and comfortable for our child at bedtime. On the other hand, there was one disappointing incident during our stay. Early in the morning, the fire alarm suddenly went off with a loud siren throughout the Accommodation. We were later told it was due to an accidental operation in another Room, but it took about an hour for security staff to check and reset everything. During that time, the alarm kept sounding continuously, so we evacuated with our child to a relatively quiet terrace. Afterward, an operator contacted us to confirm what had happened and asked whether we would still be able to make checkout on time. Since it overlapped with breakfast and getting ready in the morning, we explained it would be difficult and they extended our checkout by about 30 minutes. We appreciate their consideration; however, we had hoped to spend a relaxing morning (including enjoying another bath), so that part was unfortunate. I also saw other Reviews on different sites mentioning issues related to fire alarms. As it seems many guests come from overseas as well, I would appreciate it if you could consider measures to prevent recurrence—such as providing clearer instructions at check-in on how to handle fire alarms. Overall, both the Facility and Room itself were extremely comfortable—this is a wonderful Accommodation that is easy for families to enjoy.
