Oyu Onsen Yumoto Shoya Izumiya Ryokan <Niigata Prefecture>

I stayed with my child who lives alone in Niigata, and our dogs.Since there was no fee for dogs, we were told to bring everything ourselves, so we prepared accordingly. As there was no extra charge, I won’t complain.The Room was spacious, and the dogs were thrilled to run around.Although it is an older Ryokan, it was kept very clean.The tea sweets were also delicious.The bath was spacious and relaxing. I was happy that it was available from 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM.The meals were delicious as well. The Uonuma rice came with free refills, so we had seconds at both dinner and breakfast.Great quality for this price—easy on the wallet and a wonderful memory.

Although I chose the light-meal Plan, it was more than enough for me in my sixties, and I was amazed that it cost 10,000 yen on a weekday. The Onsen was exceptionally high quality, with plenty of continuously flowing water; it was clear and colorless, soft on the skin, with tiny mineral flakes gently drifting through—truly moving. It may be less well-known than nearby Tochiomata Onsen, but it was just as wonderful.
