Shiki no Yado Koyomi

We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us.I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful.Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen.The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable.Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation.With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely.Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy.My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. Whether due to a cancellation two days earlier or just by chance, a whole villa was available at a reasonable price, so I booked without hesitation. My husband and our two dogs were able to unwind as if we were at home, soothing our everyday stress in the carefully selected free-flowing Onsen.The staff were also very pleasant, and they even remembered our dogs—such a small thing, but it made us very happy.I end up soaking in the Onsen about five times each stay! We’d love to come back again to relax.
