Kuroshio Inn Rinkaiso

The food was outstanding. For dinner, the splendid alfonsino, abalone, and spiny lobster were all delicious, and the portions were more than we could finish. Breakfast was also excellent—the spiny lobster miso soup was especially tasty. The relaxation room offered free ice cream and coffee, as well as electric massage chairs. While the exterior and some common areas were not very clean, the guest rooms and dining area had been renovated.

I stayed here because I’d heard that Katsuura is cooler in summer than other places, and I wanted to see the morning market. Although the building feels a bit old, the tatami in the Room had been replaced and was clean, and I was surprised at how close it was—you can see the beach from the Room. I also enjoyed the exhibits inside the building, and they even offered ice pops. I was amazed by how large the simmered splendid alfonsino served at dinner was! And the homemade pudding was delicious—definitely a “separate stomach” dessert. The Onsen had a light caramel color with a slightly silky feel, which was great. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and the lightly salted dried fish was plump and tasty. The meals were delicious and very filling—I ended up gaining almost 2 kg (laughs). I had a relaxing, unhurried, comfortable stay.
