Hotel Zekkei no Yakata

This is a compact Accommodation. While the building has some age, it is kept very clean, and its compact size makes it easy to access the baths and dining area, making for a very comfortable stay.Our Room was on the first floor, but the view was outstanding—true to the Accommodation’s name, it was a spectacular panorama!The baths were my favorite type—an alkaline spring with a silky feel—and the view from the open-air bath was also breathtaking.For dinner we chose the “Bliss Course,” and that was absolutely the right choice: a wonderful meal packed with Sendai’s flavors. The Sendai Kuroge Wagyu beef grilled on magnolia leaves was tender and generous in portion, and the miso seasoning was exceptional. The beef tongue was also thick and tender; we had planned to eat beef tongue again the next day, but dinner left us completely satisfied, so our whole family agreed we didn’t need to—and we were able to keep our expenses down as well.The seafood and sashimi were delicious too; even the scallops were thick, and everything we tried was satisfying.Breakfast also included hot pot dishes and sashimi—almost like a light version of an inn-style dinner—and we left completely full.This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Just as the Accommodation’s name suggests, the views were truly spectacular. Although it rained, Matsushima in the rain had its own charm and was wonderful. The Room attendant was kind and attentive to my elderly mother, so we were able to stay comfortably. All of the staff spoke to us in many thoughtful ways and welcomed us with warm hospitality. Thank you very much for such a delightful time.
