Hiraizumi Hotel Musashibou

This was my first time staying here. I made a Reservation based on the Reviews and the convenient access for sightseeing in Hiraizumi. The property does feel a bit old, but I was impressed by the thoughtful hospitality from the experienced staff. The local specialty dishes were delicious, and the bath temperature and water quality suited me well, so I’m glad I chose this place. One star off because (although the guest Room floor smelled nice) I noticed a slight musty odor on the floor leading to the large public bath; the shower pressure in the large public bath was weak the next morning; and it felt quite far to get there. It’s a shame because both the Room and baths were kept very clean. Still, aside from that, my family and I were all satisfied. I’d like to stay again if I have another chance.

The road to Chuson-ji was crowded just to get into the parking lot, so it was great that we could walk there from the Hotel in about 20 minutes. Motsu-ji is also nearby!The bath doesn’t have an open-air bath or a sauna... There are stairs on the way to the bath, so it might be a bit difficult for some.The mixed rice and hatto soup at dinner were delicious! The yogurt at breakfast was also very good.
