Muika Onsen Hotel

It’s not a very large Hotel, but it’s well organized and has a nice atmosphere. The building is somewhat old, but the guest rooms have been renovated and are clean. The meals were also very satisfying—every item on the thoughtfully prepared buffet menu was delicious. We stayed with our elderly parents, and our dining table had been reserved in advance, which we truly appreciated. Thank you very much to the staff.

I stayed for two nights while the plumbing in my home was being renovated. When I arrived and tried to load my luggage onto a cart and take the elevator, the corridor was pitch-dark, and the hallway in front of my Room had a distinctive smell, which made me feel a bit uneasy. However, the Room itself had been nicely renovated, there was no odor, and I was able to stay comfortably. All of the buffet dishes were delicious, and there were quite a few Niigata-style items as well; considering the Accommodation Fee, I thought it was excellent. The bath was also great—during a Multiple Night Stay, I could use it from 12:00 p.m., almost like having it privately to myself. It was disappointing that there wasn’t a water dispenser in the changing area. Also, when I tried to use the open-air bath at night, the outdoor lights weren’t on, so I hesitated and wondered if it wasn’t allowed. There were a few things that made me wonder if it was due to saving electricity, but overall I was satisfied and had a good time.
