Hotel Resol Hakodate

This was my first time staying for two nights. I chose this Hotel because the Rooms are larger than at other hotels, and because it offers a drink bar area and a fitness gym. Unfortunately, the gym had fewer machines and less variety than I expected, but my Room faced the station, so I could watch the streetcars from the Room and relax. The drink corner was also nice, as I could unwind on the sofa. It’s also close to the station, making sightseeing by train or streetcar perfect. I would like to stay again next time.

Although there was an earthquake in the Tohoku region at the end of last year, this time we were fortunate to have pleasant weather with no snow and not too cold. They prepared an ocean-side Room for us again. The double bed suits us well and we always sleep soundly, but the pillows were soft; although there was a cushion, it would have been better to have one more pillow or one that is firmer or higher. The Facility is old, but there were no problems at all. The toilet has a washlet, and the bath has strong hot water pressure. There were also bath salts, which left our skin smooth and smelled great. The refrigerator is small for solo use but still usable; however, it doesn’t cool very well. At Resol, breakfast is elaborate and something we really look forward to. In particular, the robatayaki grilling was perfect. The ramen was delicious as well. All-you-can-add salmon roe is also one of the highlights. Two kinds of local sake were available too. On the first floor there is a free drinks corner, and it seems it can also be used as a coworking space; I just read the newspaper there. I think many of the staff are cheerful and friendly people. I’d like to stay again in spring.
