    When the air conditioner is turned on, there is a noticeable musty smell.

    Both the exterior and the Room were very clean, and the service and Onsen were excellent. However, one thing I noticed was a slight musty smell from the Room air conditioner. Since it’s hard not to use it in summer, I would appreciate it if this could be improved.

    First Time Visiting Beppu

    This time, on my first visit to Beppu during Golden Week, I stayed in a non-smoking twin Room under the Standard Plan. The hotel is conveniently located near Beppu Station, with easy access. I arrived early due to my flight schedule, and it was a great place to leave my luggage and go sightseeing. On top of that, our Room was upgraded to a family Room! The two of us enjoyed the luxury of using a four-person Room. Both the property and the Room were kept very clean, and we were able to relax after sightseeing and drinks. The next morning the weather was bad so we couldn’t see the sunrise, but we fully enjoyed the bath and even the after-bath services. I’d definitely like to stay here again on my next trip back to Oita.

    Highly satisfied

    I was very satisfied with the Room upgrade and the amenities. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and it was close to the station, so I had a comfortable stay without any issues. If I had to mention one thing, I noticed an unpleasant smell inside the elevator.

    Breakfast is delicious and offers a wide variety of options.

    We were able to start our day smoothly without any waiting time. The dining area was very spacious, clean, and offered a wide variety of side dishes. No matter which Nono property we visit, the stay is always comfortable. We would like to stay again.

    We had a wonderful time.

    Right in front of the station, slippers are not required throughout the entire building, and the Onsen Facility is exceptionally well equipped. Enjoying an ice pop after the Onsen while looking out over the streets of Beppu was truly special. And of course, the late-night soba was delicious too.

    Repeat Guests

    I’ve only stayed a few times so far, but this time they upgraded my Room! The Room was spotless and clean, and the breakfast had a great variety and tasted amazing. This is a Hotel I can confidently recommend to friends and acquaintances. The large public bath is great for relaxing, but the private baths are always crowded and I can never get in! Also, many overseas guests use the private baths, so it’s completely unclear who is waiting and in what order, and I end up not being able to use them every time. I’d like the waiting system to be easier to understand. (For example, handing out numbered tickets or having staff stationed there at all times.) Other than the private bath issue, it’s a wonderful Hotel!

    Almost entirely foreign.

    Beppu felt almost like a foreign country—I could hardly hear any Japanese. I was surprised by how many international tourists there were. The private baths seemed extremely popular and were fully booked the entire time. In the end I couldn’t use one, and since there didn’t seem to be cleaning between guests, it made me a bit uneasy... On the other hand, the large public bath was almost empty and very comfortable.

    Sisters’ Trip

    Conveniently located near the station and ideal for sightseeing. Once you get used to it, it’s a comfortable and reasonably priced Hotel. The Onsen was very relaxing and I really liked it, but it was disappointing that someone with tattoos (a foreign guest?) was using it. Since there were quite a few private family baths, I wish they could have used one of those instead.

    Large groups can be very disruptive.

    There were a large group of guests, and it seemed they had no intention of following proper bath etiquette or had not been taught: they did not rinse off before entering and did not wash their bodies. When I checked the crowding status it showed “not busy,” but when I went it was extremely crowded. At breakfast, even though I entered almost first, most of the food was already cold. This has never happened at other Nono properties, so I was very disappointed.

    A large group of Korean guests was extremely noisy no matter where they were, which made the stay unpleasant. I won’t use this place again, but if being close to the station is your top priority, then go ahead—that’s the only advantage.

    Conveniently located near the station. The bus stop for public transportation and the airport bus stop are also very close, making it easy to explore. On weekends, when there are many group tourists from overseas, Hotel staff at the entrance provided proper guidance to visitors, which was helpful. The Room was clean and user-friendly, but I noticed some motor noise at night. Additionally, some amenities were stored in drawers or cabinets and were not immediately noticeable.

    Take a break from everyday life and refresh yourself.

    The hotel was right in front of Beppu Station, and it took less than 3 minutes to arrive. Although the hotel allowed shoes inside, it had a ryokan-like touch with a shoe storage area. Guests walked on tatami mats to check-in, and the front staff provided detailed explanations. For security, the elevator required an accommodation card to access upper floors. The room also had tatami flooring, which was very comfortable for those familiar with Japanese living styles. Slippers were provided for use in the restroom, which made sense. The bath was located on the top floor, offering a stunning view of Beppu Bay under clear skies. There was even a board explaining sunrise times so guests could enjoy watching it—an unforgettable experience! Breakfast lived up to its reputation with both quality and quantity exceeding expectations. The staff quickly replenished items as needed. However, one common confusion among guests seemed to be finding where the rice was located at first—it wasn’t immediately obvious since they used portioned servings instead of a traditional rice warmer pot setup later on during service hours; perhaps clearer signage like "Rice is here" would have been helpful! The seafood bowl option in particular offered generous portions from early morning. Check-out was smooth and quick through an automated machine system—a great convenience. With such amazing views and delicious breakfast offerings, I would love to stay at this hotel again when visiting Beppu next time! Thank you very much!

    Close... but still a nice accommodation.

    The concept is wonderful, and it’s a great accommodation with sophisticated Japanese design. However, my first experience was disappointing. As mentioned in reviews, upon entering the room, I immediately noticed quite a bit of hair left from the previous guest. Inside the facility, you remove your shoes at the entrance, but this gives an unclean impression as there are people with foot odor or rolling carry-on luggage. I had the dinner buffet; while the taste wasn’t bad, it was served cold, which was unfortunate. Everything feels like such a missed opportunity! The welcome drink coffee is delicious, and complimentary post-bath ice cream and late-night ramen are delightful touches for guests. If only hygiene could be improved further, this would be an exceptional accommodation!

    I am a local, but I invited an acquaintance and stayed at the accommodation myself. The room was clean and absolutely wonderful! The breakfast had an impressive variety of dishes, all of which were delicious, leaving me completely satisfied! Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free! I will definitely stay here again!

    The location, just a short distance from Beppu Station, was very convenient. The accommodation was well-maintained and had a clean atmosphere. The large public bath with Onsen was spacious, and the sauna added to the satisfaction! I would love to stay at this accommodation again if I have the chance to visit.

    Comfortable accommodation.

    The accessibility from the station is excellent, and I have used this wonderful accommodation that blends into the Beppu town multiple times. Personally, the bath here ranks among the top three within Dormy Inn. If I may offer one critique, the air purifier still had water in its tank and was left plugged in. The air purifier displayed a notice stating, "For hygiene reasons, we do not fill the tank with water. Please add water when using." It’s important to be cautious because if even one detail is overlooked, guests might perceive that everything at this hotel lacks thorough checks.

    Convenient

    Very close to Beppu Station and very convenient. The hotel offers both flat parking and mechanical parking, so it's safe. Breakfast has a wide variety and is reasonably delicious. Since it gets crowded, making an early reservation via mobile and receiving an email notification when it's your turn can save time. The room was clean, and overall it was a great experience, so I would like to stay again.

    Comfortable Hotel

    The property felt clean and comfortable as it is new. Check-in and check-out were self-service, making the process efficient. Most of the guests were foreigners, giving an international travel vibe. The large public bath was enjoyable with a view of the moon. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options. Although the room temperature was high even with the air conditioning off, my stay was very comfortable overall. The parking lot is a mechanical system that accommodates large vehicles, which was convenient.

    There are many travelers from overseas, and about 90% of the people in the Hotel were conversing in languages other than Japanese. Since it is close to the station, I used it for business purposes, but despite being a weekday, seeing people in suits inside the Hotel was rare.

    Beppu Hot Springs

    Overall, it was a clean and comfortable space. However, the remote control in the room was dirty. It is conveniently located right next to Beppu Station. I saw in the reviews that you could experience the Beppu Hattou Onsen, so I stayed with high expectations, but both at night and in the morning, it was always occupied, and after waiting for a while, it never became available, so I ended up only using the large public bath and gave up. I thought it would be nice if the Hattou was available in the large public bath for everyone to use. It's a shame that I couldn't enter, especially since it's a selling point.

    It was wonderful.

    I was impressed with Nono in Kyoto, so I stayed here as well. The Dormy Inn chain's signature services like Yonaki Soba, ice and drink bar, and massage chairs were as delightful as always. The Japanese-style room had welcome sweets prepared, and the smart TV allowed for YouTube viewing, making it very comfortable. Above all, the hot springs and breakfast were wonderful. In Beppu, you can enjoy a tour of the eight hot springs, and seven of them are private baths, which was fantastic! The breakfast included seafood bowls with salmon roe and tuna, as well as dishes featuring Oita specialties. It was a moment of relaxation with impeccable service. Thank you very much.
