    Business Hotel or below

    The front desk service didn’t feel like hospitality at all. Their attitude made it seem like they didn’t want guests to come; a Business Hotel would have been better. There wasn’t even a single bottle of drinking water in the Room. The shower in the bath had a smooth, Onsen-like feel, but it didn’t feel like a proper bathhouse—why is that? Maybe the only good points are the high price and that the building is new.

    Beyond expectations!

    I’m a fan of Chuya Nakahara, and I visited Yuda Onsen to go to the Chuya Nakahara Memorial Museum. To be honest, I’d only been thinking of booking any Hotel I could find on IKYU, but I’m truly glad I chose this one! The Facility is new and spotless, and since you take off your shoes in the Room, it’s very relaxing. I was able to enjoy the Onsen twice a day—morning and evening—and the front desk staff were extremely polite and kind. While organizing my luggage before leaving, I found a collection of Chuya Nakahara’s poems on the desk. That made me very happy too! Since it’s such a nice touch, I’d love for it to be placed somewhere more noticeable.

    Shoes are not allowe...

    Shoes are not allowed in the barrier-free Room. Never swim in deep baths. The wording feels cold due to a lack of consideration. Day-use bathing hours are the same as guests’ bathing hours. When I bathe near closing time, when there are fewer day-use visitors, and am washing my body, staff come over while I’m washing to say they will refill the shampoo. Day-use visitors use the on-site parking lot, while overnight guests must use a distant multi-story parking garage.     This was my second stay, and I chose the Comfort Twin Room (24 m²). Having the washbasin in a separate area made it feel like it was in another room, which was convenient. If possible, I think it would have been even better if the tatami area had been removed and replaced with chairs and a table. There is a shop I like right behind the Hotel, so I used it during my stay.

    Having a young foreign female cleaner in the men’s large public bath is uncomfortable.

    While I had a positive impression of the Accommodation thanks to the young, courteous front desk staff and their helpful response when I left something behind, I will reconsider staying here in the future. From here on is my personal opinion. Regarding the men’s large public bath, since it is also open to day-use visitors, there were many bathers even around 11:00 p.m., and I was honestly taken aback to see a young foreign female cleaner silently working while surrounded by naked men. What would happen if there were a male cleaner in the women’s bath? Also, considering the foreign female cleaner, I felt that being forced to work silently with her head down in that situation shows disregard for her and amounts to sexual harassment or power harassment. This may sound exaggerated, but it even felt like a human-rights violation stemming from treating foreign cleaning staff lightly. I do not think this can be solved simply by posting a notice saying that female staff will be cleaning. Some Onsen accommodations set specific cleaning times so cleaners and bathers do not overlap—shouldn’t you move away from prioritizing profit above all else? It’s disappointing.

    The Facility is clean, but

    I stayed here to attend a family memorial service.\nThere were no major issues with the stay itself, but I would like to share a few comments.\nFirst, I think the amenities need improvement overall. The system is to pick up amenities yourself next to the front desk, but there was signage for a cotton set that was not actually available. Also, the body soap in the large public bath left a slippery residue after use, and I had to rinse several times to remove it.\nNext, it’s good to see younger staff members, but their service felt somewhat awkward.\nThere were too many lights in the Room, and I found them difficult to operate. It felt a bit overly gimmicky.\nThese are just my personal opinions, but I hope they help lead to improvements.

    Father’s Day Celebration

    Once again, we enjoyed a wonderful trip as a parent and child. The staff were kind and helpful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was clean as always, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much.

    This is my third stay.

    We stayed here the year before last and last year as well, so this was our third stay as a family. As I wrote before, it’s truly comfortable. The staff are wonderful! Even when picking up towels for the hot stone sauna at the front desk, they always add a thoughtful word or two. The bathing Facility was still popular and fairly busy, but the washing area was never completely full, so it was fine. The changing room and hair-dryer area were a bit crowded, but not enough to have to wait. This time as well, we ended up eating at nearby restaurants. They were lively with locals, and we tried lots of recommended dishes—very satisfying! It’s close enough to walk back right away, so we took a short rest after dinner and then went back for another bath. We always choose the No Meals Included Plan, and there are just too many places we want to eat—so we’ll probably go with the No Meals Included Plan again next year (lol). We’d love to keep coming back as our regular Accommodation. Thank you very much!

    I recently took a 10-night road trip by car. Overall, including the price, this Accommodation was the best. It would have been perfect if I could have parked nearby, but it seemed to be reserved for day-use Onsen guests... Above all, I am truly grateful to the woman who handled my check-in. She was a great help, and I would like to thank her through this Review. (I got burned while out and was in trouble, and she quickly prepared an ice pack and a towel for me.) Yamaguchi was quiet and relaxing for sightseeing, making it a wonderful trip. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely like to stay again.

    Clean and Modern Accommodation

    The Hotel may seem like a business hotel, but it has a modern interior design with a calm atmosphere. The room includes a raised tatami space, providing a relaxing environment. The location is convenient, with delicious restaurants nearby. However, the multi-story parking lot felt slightly intimidating at night, and I was surprised that parking wasn't free in such a rural area.

    Hotel adjacent to a bathing Facility

    I arrived without prior knowledge, so I was a bit confused about the parking location and the facility, but the accommodation was relatively new and modern, allowing me to relax comfortably. The bathing facility is shared with non-guests, so it might get crowded depending on the time of day; however, I was fortunate to use it without any congestion. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with a wide variety of delicious options. Breakfast was particularly enjoyable.

    The wall-mounted air conditioner in the room is very dirty with dust at the outlet. The filter cleaning sign is on, and the indoor air quality is very poor. Please ensure proper inspection and cleaning.

    Third stay

    As always, the hospitality, onsen, and breakfast were very satisfying. However, this time the room felt a bit small (perhaps because I stayed alone before and didn’t notice). If I may say so, for someone like me who wants to enjoy the onsen three times (upon arrival, before bed, and right after waking up), having only one face towel and one bath towel might be a bit unsatisfactory. It would be great if up to two additional towels could be borrowed for free at the front desk. Regardless, this is still a hotel I want to stay at again.

    Enjoy a Sisters' Getaway

    We travel every two months as sisters, and this time we chose a nearby trip (within a 2-hour drive) to Yuda Onsen O n n, which we had wanted to visit for a while. The scenery wasn’t great since Yuda Onsen is located in the city. The room had a calm color scheme with large windows. However, the window was positioned near the head of the bed and had blinds instead of curtains, so light leaked in early in the morning (around 5 AM), waking us up, which was tough. The meals were as expected—a buffet with freshly made sushi, adorable kawara soba, and everything tasted delicious. The desserts and drinks were also very satisfying. Of course, breakfast was equally delightful! Thank you very much. There was parking nearby; however, it was designated for day-use onsen guests. Accommodation guests had to use a multi-story parking lot located slightly farther away. We walked there in the rain while jokingly saying it should be reversed! But despite that inconvenience, we would love to come back again!

    It was relaxing.

    We stayed at the accommodation for a family trip. The room was small but clean. The staff were all kind and helpful. Although the large public bath is in a separate building, it was not an issue at all. There are many restaurants nearby, so even with no meals included, we were very satisfied with the hotel.

    I liked it.

    This was my first visit to Yuda Onsen, and I found it to be a charming and compact town. I chose an affordable accommodation, thinking it would be sufficient, but it turned out to be very clean with welcome drinks provided. Additionally, I could enjoy the onsen right next door, which made it feel like great value for money. The room was one of the smallest I've ever stayed in—probably in my top five—but just like Yamaguchi City itself, it was compact yet clean and convenient, which impressed me. The staff at the front desk were kind and helpful as well. There are many delicious izakayas nearby; the one recommended by the front desk was both affordable and tasty—it became a favorite of mine! It seems many guests arrived unaware that check-in starts at 4:00 PM. The 11:00 AM check-out time is also appealing!

    Glad I came back!

    This was our second stay. We enjoyed relaxing in the onsen, savoring local cuisine (we visited a restaurant outside the hotel), and had a restful sleep, spending a wonderful time with our family. As with our previous visit, all the staff were incredibly pleasant and attentive, making our stay very enjoyable. In an era where some accommodations seem to decline in quality upon revisiting, we are deeply grateful that this accommodation has maintained its high standards. That said, it’s understandable but worth noting that the baths were much more crowded than before. However, there was no issue finding space at the washing area. While it wasn’t as leisurely as last time, the onsen water was still excellent. We look forward to staying here again next year with our family. Thank you!

    Three friends visiting Yamaguchi stayed here. They were delighted with the clean Room and excellent bath, all at a reasonable price. The location is right in the heart of Yuda Onsen, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining.

    The Room is new and clean.

    The Room was clean, and I was satisfied with the large public bath. However, when I asked the front desk staff for dinner recommendations, they only handed me a brochure without any quality insights. For solo travelers who don't drink alcohol, even in a Business Hotel, we rely on the Hotel's guidance. For first-time visitors, the impression of the stay is shaped by how the front desk staff responds. That's why it was very disappointing to experience such curt and unhelpful service reminiscent of old-fashioned attitudes.

    Father's Celebration

    We stayed here to celebrate our father's 90th birthday, along with my sister and me. This was our second visit. At the dinner buffet, even my father, who has difficulty with hard foods, praised the tempura of whiting fish. The beef stew was a classic delight. The Onsen was clean and comfortable, and we would love to visit again!

    I stayed here last year and had a great experience, so I decided to stay again this year. The accommodation and room were very clean, and the staff provided excellent service. Last year, there were face packs among the amenities which I looked forward to, but they were not available this year. The meals were delicious, and the bath was also wonderful. I would definitely like to stay here again.
