The breakfast and Onsen are wonderful.

About a 5-minute walk from Matsumoto Station and close to the Alpico Matsumoto Bus Terminal—Kamikochi is easily accessible from here. Matsumoto Castle is also within walking distance. After a stroll, relaxing in the Onsen feels wonderful. The real surprise was breakfast—so lavish it could be mistaken for a buffet dinner! We also had great views of the Northern Alps and were very satisfied.

The entire 6th floor smells like cigarette smoke.

This was my second stay. My previous stay was excellent, so I made another Reservation. This time, my Room was on the 6th floor near the smoking area. It reeked of cigarette smoke. Normally, even if a smoking area is nearby, you might notice only a slight smell, but the entire floor had such an intense smoke odor that it gave me a headache. I had reserved a non-smoking Room, but even inside the Room there was a faint cigarette smell. Reserving a non-smoking Room felt pointless. Worried this could cause health issues from secondhand smoke, I asked the front desk to take measures against the odor, but nothing changed afterward. In decades of staying at hundreds of places, this is my first time experiencing an Accommodation like this. Are other group Hotels the same? Looking back at past Reviews, I found similar complaints about cigarette odors; although the Accommodation replied that they would address it, the issue has not been resolved. I think they should either make the 6th floor a smoking floor or move the smoking area to a floor without guest Rooms—such as the 1st or 10th floor. I cannot understand why they placed a smoking area on a floor that has non-smoking Rooms. Aside from the cigarette smell, it is a good Accommodation, so next time I will request any floor other than the 6th. If that cannot be guaranteed, I will never stay here again.

    Nono with Delicious Breakfast

For the past few years, I’ve visited Matsumoto in August to buy watermelon, and I stayed at Nono last year and again this year. It’s still fairly new, so the Accommodation is clean throughout. Above all, the breakfast is delicious—especially the soba noodles and tempura, which are excellent quality. This year they also served delicious melon from Hokkaido. However, while I was on a higher floor last year, this year I was on the second floor, so the view wasn’t great. I kept the curtains closed most of the time and felt a bit confined. The Room is small, but considering the price, I think it’s a Hotel that offers good value overall.

    Second Stay

I stayed here after a hike. This was my second time. It’s comfortable to be able to take off your shoes after hiking and walk around barefoot. Prices have gone up quite a bit these days, but the Room was still clean and comfortable as always. I’ve stayed at various Dormy properties, and this one is very good. The staff were attentive as well, greeting me right away around the front desk area.

Once again, we were reminded of how wonderful it is—an extremely satisfying stay.

This was my second stay, and once again I was reminded what a truly wonderful property this is. All the staff are always smiling, quick to help, and courteous, making my stay comfortable again this time. The Onsen was exceptional—not only the quality of the water, but also the spotless interior and beautiful views made it a perfect time to unwind. And as a Dormy Inn fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the post-bath ice pops and probiotic drink at the relaxation area, as well as the famous “Yonaki Soba,” all just as delicious as ever. Whenever I stay in Matsumoto, I will definitely choose this place again!

As with other Dormy Inn locations, I was satisfied with the breakfast, but

I’m a Dormy Inn fan. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, but: 1) The buffet menu was almost unchanged except for the miso soup ingredients. Some other economy hotels offer fewer items, but about two-thirds of the menu changes day to day. On business trips, I used to be a regular at a regional hotel, and at Matsue Shinji Lake Onsen (two years ago I did a Multiple Night Stay at an Accommodation). Last year, on a friend’s recommendation, I stayed multiple nights at an inexpensive Hotel across the street and was impressed by how well-rounded it was. In recent years, buffet breakfasts at other hotels have improved; while I’m still satisfied with Dormy Inn breakfast, it doesn’t impress me as much as it used to. 2) The local Matsumoto dishes didn’t feel very impactful. Soba is offered to this extent elsewhere too, and it wasn’t exceptionally good. Mountain vegetables and mushrooms… what else? 3) This is something I always feel dissatisfied about: could you switch to razors with sharper blades? 4) The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout, just like at other locations.

Both the Room and the large public bath were clean and comfortable. The large public bath is not very spacious, but it offers views of the Alps mountain range and was very relaxing. The breakfast had a great variety unique to Nono and was delicious. The breakfast staff were attentive, promptly refilling dishes and clearing tables, so we could enjoy our meal comfortably and were very satisfied.

I’ve become a fan of Nono.

I booked this place on short notice for a spontaneous trip, simply choosing one with high ratings on IKYU. I don’t usually stay at Business Hotel chains, but this stay truly surprised me. The Room was simple yet highly functional and very easy to use. The Onsen on the top floor uses transported water and is circulated, but it warmed me up thoroughly—it felt like a real Onsen. I ended up going in three times. The water was always clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent: freshly fried crispy tempura, Shinshu soba noodles, chirashi sushi with Shinshu salmon, and miso soup packed with clams. Everything was delicious, and I ate far more than I intended. I was genuinely impressed that today’s Business Hotels can offer such a high level of quality at this price. It was a stay that made me want to try other Nono properties in the future if I have the chance. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I always enjoy staying here and am very satisfied!

My wife and I stay here together every time. No matter when we visit, the Facility and amenities are kept clean, making our stay very comfortable. We’re also truly grateful that, despite rising prices these days, we can still stay at a reasonable rate. The late-night soba service was as delicious as ever, and we enjoyed a variety of drinks as well. We always look forward to breakfast, and it was tasty at a very fair price. We will definitely stay again—thank you!

    An exceptionally comfortable stay.

It was a beautiful, relaxing Accommodation with a tasteful blend of Japanese and Western styles. I felt I could stay here for as many nights as I wanted. The late-night soba was also delicious and much appreciated. However, while it’s nice to take off your shoes at the entrance and walk around barefoot, many international guests aren’t used to this, and travelers often have wheeled luggage. It seems wasteful to always need staff on hand for shoes and luggage. Breakfast was of course delicious, but considering the value for money, it feels a bit too expensive. For what’s offered, it should be under 2,000 yen.

    You can relax and unwind.

The Onsen is very relaxing, and the complimentary ice pops at night and probiotic drinks in the morning are a nice touch. The late-night ramen and breakfast are both delicious. The Room is spacious and comfortable, making it easy to unwind. I would love to stay here again.

    Highly recommended!

I had an errand in Matsumoto and ended up staying one night, so I was looking for an Accommodation that was easy to get around on foot. I chose this place for the first time because it had great Reviews. I stayed with my mother, and the service was attentive in every way, so we had a very comfortable stay. My mother was also very happy and said, “I want to stay here again!” The large public bath had a wonderful view, and I could soak while looking out at a beautiful mountain range. The shower head was a ReFa model, with various settings, and it felt amazing! It made me want to buy one for home!! The staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of tasty local Shinshu specialties—everything was taken care of from start to finish. Thank you very much!

    It was perfect.

The feeling of taking off my shoes at the entrance made me feel like I was coming home, which was very nice. The Christmas decorations were also adorable. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed height felt just right. There was a welcome drink, and the late-night ramen snack had just the right portion size and was delicious. Breakfast was also satisfying. The Onsen made my body feel warm and cozy. I stayed with a friend from another prefecture, and they were delighted to stay at such a wonderful hotel. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much!

    It was relaxing.

I occasionally stay here when visiting Matsumoto. The bath is excellent, with hot water, an open-air bath, and a sauna. The washing areas are spacious and divided into private booths, which is very satisfying. Compared to Dormy Inn, the price is higher, but I believe it's worth it. The room was clean and comfortable for relaxation. I will stay here again.

Clean and comfortable bathroom with a great ReFa showerhead!

This is an accommodation where guests remove their shoes at the entrance. Although there is a charge for children, amenities such as room wear and towels are provided, making it convenient with less luggage to carry. The rooms were well-cleaned, and the tatami-style flooring with low beds was appreciated by families with children. However, there were some disappointing points: 1. The humidifier: Unlike the Sharp models commonly found in other hotels, this one had an unclear water tank location. While searching for it, I noticed dust everywhere (even hair tangled in the air vent, which was unpleasant to clean). When I finally found the water tank, it was visibly dirty and required multiple rinses before use. The humidifying power seemed weak as most of our stay had a low humidity indicator on display; by morning, our entire family experienced dry skin and throats. 2. The sink drainage in the room: After washing hands with soap, foam water remained in the basin for some time, making consecutive handwashing inconvenient. 3. Pillow firmness: Only one very firm pillow per bed is provided. This might be uncomfortable for those who prefer soft pillows or sleep on their sides. Lastly, while reception and dining staff maintained a pleasant balance of distance and service without causing discomfort, we did have an unpleasant experience during checkout with one staff member (a Japanese woman wearing a navy polo shirt). Despite us greeting her with "Good morning," she ignored us completely; when she exited on the second floor ahead of us in silence without even making eye contact—it left a negative impression overall.

I recently stayed at the accommodation for the first time. With Kamikochi's popularity, many inbound guests were also staying, making it very lively. I was also surprised that all the staff could speak English. The quality of service was truly impressive. The onsen and meals, along with the facility, were well-maintained and clean, making it a highly satisfying trip. Thank you very much!

Equipped with essentials and offers great value for money.

Nothing is missing, and nothing is overly luxurious. Everything essential is well-prepared and functional. Dormy Inn is truly well-thought-out and impressive. Among them, Onyado Nono Matsumoto stands out as comfortable and pleasant, with an interesting bath design. The design reflects Matsumoto Castle, which was charming. Although there are surprisingly few dining options nearby and the hotel does not offer dinner, this accommodation offers excellent value for money.

    High level

The staff (front desk, dining area, cleaning) were highly attentive and professional (quick response, greetings, attentiveness). The breakfast was very delicious. Thoughtful amenities such as welcome drinks, late-night soba noodles, and post-bath ice cream were delightful. The Japanese-style interior was relaxing and had a clean atmosphere.

    First time at Dormy Inn!

This was my first stay at a Dormy Inn chain Hotel. The Onsen, which is the main feature, was decent, but there were only four hair dryers in the washroom area, and it felt overcrowded. I gave up drying my hair and returned to my Room. While taking off shoes at the entrance is fine, staying without slippers felt uncomfortable. Some guests brought their own slippers while others walked barefoot. I almost ended up wearing toilet slippers by mistake. The Room felt very tight and compact. Considering the price, I thought it lacked cost performance value. Breakfast was good with a nice variety and great taste. Overall, it was an average experience for me.

    Satisfied.

Stayed for one night with No Meals Included for a mountain climbing trip. You take off your shoes at the entrance, giving it a public bath-like feel. My wife didn’t like walking directly on the floor, but there were slippers provided near the shoe rack. The interior is unified with tatami-style flooring throughout, even in the elevator, creating a modern Japanese atmosphere. This Hotel chain features large baths, including open-air baths and saunas, perfect for relaxing after a tiring day. There’s almost nothing to complain about; however, free or low-cost parking would be appreciated for those traveling mostly by car.

    Satisfaction

I was initially confused by the style of removing shoes at the entrance, but I appreciated being able to walk barefoot throughout the tatami-floored facility. The room with a double bed and a view of the Alps was so cozy that I ended up using the Onsen during the busy time past 10 PM because it was so comfortable. The natural Onsen was clean, and I appreciated having various shampoos available. However, it was disappointing that the sauna was too hot to sit in. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options that made it hard to choose. While the Shinshu soba could have been better, overall, I enjoyed it. I look forward to staying at other Dormy Inn Premium locations in the future!

You can enjoy your stay every time you visit.

Dormy Inn offers delightful services like welcome drinks and late-night soba, but the accommodation's fully tatami-matted design and traditional Japanese style provide a calming atmosphere. I always choose to stay here when traveling. The breakfast is consistently delicious, making it something to look forward to.

    Satisfying Breakfast!

I chose Onyado Nono while searching for a hotel or ryokan in Matsumoto City and its surroundings to buy Matsumoto watermelon, as it had good reviews. In conclusion, it was an excellent hotel. Since the hotel is still new, the interior was clean, and the bath facilities were well-maintained. Both the reception staff and restaurant staff provided great service. What we particularly enjoyed was the breakfast. The various small dishes were delicious, but we especially loved the freshly fried tempura, soba noodles, and chirashi sushi. At buffets, soba noodles are often dry so we usually avoid them; however, Nono's soba had a firm texture comparable to what we had at a specialty soba restaurant the night before. The dessert melon from Hokkaido was also very flavorful. Last year, we stayed at La Vista Hakodate Bay which has been rated as having Japan's best breakfast before; however, for us personally, Nono's breakfast suited our tastes better. The room on the 9th floor offered a nice view and although slightly compact in size, it was comfortable to stay in.

    It was comfortable!

We stayed here the night before our trip to Kamikochi. We were looking forward to it as it was recommended in a blogger's review, and it met our expectations with a satisfying breakfast and delightful late-night ramen. However, it was slightly disappointing that some guests lacked proper manners in the women's bath. If given the chance, we would love to try other Dormy Inn Premium locations in different prefectures as well.

Attention to detail is evident throughout.

The room, bed, onsen, and breakfast were very satisfying. Although I mentioned at check-in that detailed explanations were unnecessary, I only noticed the coffee service and apple juice on the floor during check-out. It would be helpful to explain certain services to some extent. I reserved a non-smoking room, but there was a clear smell of cigarettes. While I was able to change the room, please ensure proper confirmation at the time of reservation.

Overall, not worth the accommodation cost. Good customer service, but the check-in and check-out process was terrible. The food was awful. Not worth 2500 yen for that. The salad lettuce was discolored, soba noodles were too short and hard to eat, tempura had too much batter, poor use of steam convection oven, many obvious frozen foods, and so on. At best, it’s worth 1000 yen. The bath was decent enough to be a saving grace. No amenities provided—just water and some snacks at most.

    Great value for money

This price was very reasonable. The front desk staff were polite and pleasant, the drink service, the relaxing Onsen, the ice cream after bathing, and the delicious late-night soba were all satisfying. The Room was clean. Highly recommended. Thank you for your hospitality.
