    It was great for sightseeing.

My elementary-school-aged child and I stayed for two nights. Even though we had made an early-bird Reservation, they kindly upgraded our Room on the day of arrival, and we were delighted to have a Room with a bathtub. They also provided children’s amenities, and the hospitality exceeded the price. It was close to Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station and nearby bus stops, making it very convenient for sightseeing. Since it was summer and my child got tired during the day, we could return to the Hotel to rest. I would like to stay here again when we visit for sightseeing.

I always stay here when visiting Kyoto. The staff are always quick and smooth in their service. This time, they gave me a Room with a view from the window, which made it bright and I was very happy!

    Use the Breakfast Plan.

I am a repeat guest. The location is perfect for my activities, quiet as it is away from the busy downtown area, and surrounded by many delicious restaurants, including fine dining options. This time, the Room was much smaller compared to my previous stay, but I was very satisfied with the delicious breakfast buffet.

    For a peaceful stay

An Asian foreign-owned Hotel located just off a side street. The Facility was new and clean. Most of the guests seemed to be foreigners. There are Rooms with kitchens, making it suitable for long-term stays. A 24-hour supermarket nearby makes self-catering convenient. It was a Hotel I would like to use again.

    When staying in Hote...

When staying in Hotels for an extended time during a temporary return to Japan, I sometimes want to cook for myself, so I was happy to stay in this spacious Room with a kitchen and washing machine—it felt like living everyday life in Japan. It was a shame that the windows could not be opened. This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again on my next temporary return to Japan.

In the middle of the night, a low humming noise suddenly came from the air vent and disturbed my sleep.

During a two-night stay, just after midnight on the second night as I was about to fall asleep, a low humming sound from a machine came through the vent. I reported it to the front desk using a translation app and showed them a video recording. The front desk staff said that since the room windows cannot be opened, it was probably the ventilation system. However, there was no noise loud enough to notice on the first night, so I asked again whether this was normal because it affected my sleep, and requested that someone come to the room to check. Later, another staff member who seemed more senior came out. After they spoke with each other, I was told they would come up shortly, so I returned to my room to wait. Less than one minute before the staff arrived, the sound mysteriously stopped, so she could not actually experience how uncomfortable it was in the room. I asked whether this issue might happen again and what would be done next. She said they could only monitor it for now and would offer a room change if it happened again. Because I was extremely tired and had a full day of plans the next day, I went back to sleep as quickly as possible. Around 5:00 a.m., I was woken up again by the same noise. While very exhausted, I called the front desk again to explain. The on-duty staff came up; since I was too tired, I said I just needed a bed so I could sleep again. They provided a key card for an end room on the same floor and said it would be fine to return both key cards together later. At check-out, when I handed both key cards to the front desk staff member, she initially looked confused about why there were two cards; after explaining what happened again, she seemed to understand somewhat. Unfortunately, there is no way to make up for having my sleep interrupted or for all of the time spent reporting and communicating back and forth. By the way, my original room seems to have been Room 310. I hope you can identify and fix this issue properly. (Since this site does not allow video uploads with sound evidence here.)

    Comfortable

We enjoyed a 2-night, 3-day stay experiencing the Gion Festival's Yoiyama, Yoi-Yoiyama, and Yamaboko Junko. Although we arrived just after noon intending to leave our luggage, we were pleasantly surprised to find our Room ready and could check in early. After cooling down in the Room, we headed out and leisurely explored the floats and festival atmosphere. The convenient location allowed us to rest in the Room before heading out again to enjoy the evening festivities with lit lanterns and music. On the third day, despite heavy rain, we managed to watch the procession using covered arcades without needing umbrellas much. Unfortunately, there were no Rooms with bathtubs available during our stay—only a shower—so I deducted one star for that. However, given it was summer, this wasn’t an issue; both the shower booth and other facilities like the kitchen and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Since my spouse and I get tired of eating out all the time during trips, having a kitchen was incredibly helpful. We would love to visit again someday! Thank you very much!

    The staff provided excellent service.

On the first day, when I filled the bathtub with water, some debris floated up. The next day, I informed the front desk and requested cleaning. It seems they cleaned thoroughly as the drainage improved significantly. I'm glad I spoke up instead of enduring it silently. I appreciated that there was a door separating the bathtub and toilet instead of just a curtain. On IKYU.com, it mentioned that amenities included shower caps and body towels, but these were not provided. While it's not a big issue, accurate information would be appreciated. Having detox water available immediately upon returning from outside was very convenient. The front desk staff were all very pleasant and accommodating in their responses. Thank you very much!

    Popular with international travelers

It may be the case everywhere these days, but it was packed with international tourists. The front desk staff were all non-Japanese, but their Japanese was fluent, so it wasn’t a problem. The Room and Facility were clean. It felt like an upscale Business Hotel. There were plenty of hidden-gem restaurants and izakayas nearby, which was convenient.

    Very convenient

I stayed for two nights this time. The location was very convenient and had excellent access to transportation. The Room was clean, and the bathroom and toilet were very hygienic. There was plenty of space as well. I did not have any meals during my stay, so I cannot comment on the food. The amenities in the Room were great. Nespresso coffee was also provided. I would love to stay here again!

Most of our guests are international travelers.

This was my first time staying here. From 12:00 to 21:30, drinks are available for free at the station next to the front desk, but the selection is limited and simple. It’s convenient if you just want something light to drink. There is no water provided in the Room, so if you’re concerned about tap water, you’ll need to purchase bottled water. You can buy it at the front desk, but it comes in small cans. While there isn’t a convenience store very close by, there is one within a 5-minute walk. It says that it’s a 3-minute walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station, but it’s quite far from the subway ticket gate and feels about as far as walking from Karasuma Oike Station. If coming from Kyoto Station, walking from Karasuma Oike might be better. This description should be corrected; while it may indeed be a 3-minute walk from an underground exit, it takes over 10 minutes from the ticket gate. The sink stopper in the Room didn’t work properly; since I use hard contact lenses this was personally inconvenient despite being an equipment issue. Additionally, hot water wasn’t available either. Loud voices in the hallway were also very audible inside my Room and were somewhat bothersome. On a positive note though, shower water pressure was good!

    It was comfortable.

This was my first stay. It was a time when it was difficult to make a reservation at any hotel, and this was an area in Kyoto I had never stayed in before. There were various reviews from others, so I had some concerns, but I think it matched the price. I changed from local payment to online credit card payment early on the morning of my stay, but it seems that information wasn't shared with the hotel, as I was asked for payment again at check-in. That part was disappointing.

    I had a comfortable stay.

The location is great for sightseeing, and the Room was clean and comfortable for a relaxing stay. The free drinks were excellent. I appreciated having a humidifier, but since the Room only had a shower, it was difficult to refill it with water. It would be helpful to either have it pre-filled or provide a faucet suitable for refilling. Thank you to the staff for your courteous service!

I want to make it my regular Stays.

This is my second stay. While hotel prices in Kyoto have been rising across the board due to recent inbound tourism, I was able to stay here at a very reasonable rate. It is within walking distance to places I definitely want to visit, so I think I will make this my regular property from now on. One thing that caught my attention this time was the indescribable smell of the towels. I would like the hotel staff to check on this.

Convenient to use, and the staff are kind and courteous.

It was my first stay. I received courteous assistance at check-in, which was helpful. Also, the room was a bit small, but it was simple and functional, with a bathtub, which was appreciated for warming up my cold body in chilly Kyoto.

    For everyday use

I had planned a day trip to Kyoto, but I decided to stay overnight and used the hotel. The hotel is clean, simple, and I believe it is also very safe. Since I made the reservation the day before, I couldn't use the dining facilities, but there are places to eat around the hotel, so there's no need to worry. I will use it again.

    No problem.

The room has been recently renovated and feels new. The lounge offers free drinks, and it was nice to have options like cola, ginger ale, and juice in addition to coffee. Although it is a unit bath, the glass sliding door instead of a shower curtain at the bathtub prevents steam from accumulating in the washroom, which was a plus. The bed and pillows were also good. However, the area around the sink in the washroom is narrow, making it inconvenient to place items. You have no choice but to place your clothes on the toilet lid. The desk in the room is also small. For a stay of two or three nights, it is not a problem. Although it is close to the exit of Kyoto City Hall Station, it takes more than two minutes to arrive due to the long walk through the underground mall. Please be aware of this. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.
