    When I stayed here b...

    When I stayed here before, it was the best breakfast I’d ever had, so I finally came back. However, I was disappointed because the breakfast selection and variety were limited. The Room was nice, but since I came mainly for the breakfast, it was very disappointing. I think it’s a good Hotel overall.

    A stylish Hotel in a highly convenient location

    Conveniently located along Shijo Street and close to Hankyu Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station. The entrance from Shijo Street is small, but the underground front desk area had a stylish atmosphere. Coffee is available free of charge all day, and there is also a service offering one complimentary glass of sake. The hallways were quiet with calm lighting. The Room was compact yet relaxing. This Hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing in Kyoto, and the front desk staff were kind with wonderful smiles. Their pleasant service made me feel at ease and allowed me to stay with peace of mind.

    I stayed here to wat...

    I stayed here to watch the Gion Festival parade. My Room was on the second floor, and it was comfortable because I could see the parade up close. However, the Room and amenities were average. I stayed specifically for the parade, but checkout time passed while I was watching until the end, and I was charged an additional fee. Since I had already paid an extra 15,000 yen on top of the room rate, I don’t think it’s reasonable to charge an extension fee as well.

    Conveniently located...

    Conveniently located facing Shijo Street, though the front lobby is on basement level 1, so the entrance was hard to find at first. Go down by elevator or escalator and check in via the touch panel; this was also a bit confusing at first. The coffee machine is available 24 hours a day, with plenty of options such as lattes and café au lait, which was great. Despite facing the street, outside noise was not an issue, and I could hardly hear any noise from upstairs or neighboring Rooms, so it was very comfortable.

    If you’re staying in Kawaramachi, this is definitely the place to stay.

    I’ve stayed here several times since it opened (either solo or as a couple). This time, I booked without hesitation because I was going to see a play at Minamiza. It’s less than a 10-minute walk straight there. It was my first time staying in this Room type, and it was clean and efficiently laid out. The bathroom had a separate washing area and was very comfortable. Breakfast offered a good selection, and everything tasted great. I also used the lounge drinks service several times with no complaints at all. On top of that, the price this time was an excellent deal—so I’d give it a perfect score. It was quite hot outside, but another big plus is that once you go underground, you can get all the way to Kawaramachi Station without going back outside. I’d like to keep staying here in the future—thank you very much.

    A conveniently located Hotel

    I have stayed here several times, and it is a very convenient Hotel. Because it is connected to an underground passageway, it was great that I could walk there even in this hot season. This time, the Room had a separate bath and toilet, which made my stay very comfortable. I have already made a Reservation for December, and I look forward to staying again next time.

    My stay was comfortable again this time.

    I always stay here when I visit Kyoto. Everyone at the front desk was very kind, and their smiles were wonderful. The Room was quiet and comfortable as always, and it truly helps me relax. It’s conveniently located for getting anywhere, with plenty of places to eat nearby, and shopping is easy to do in the area as well—very convenient overall. Personally, I like that the entrance isn’t very noticeable and can be a bit hard to find—it feels like a hidden gem! This is a Hotel I hope stays just the way it is. I’ll definitely stay again.

    This was my second stay.

    This was my second stay, after using the Hotel for the first time last November. Last time I stayed in a double Room, and this time I chose a twin Room with separate bath and toilet. The Room was spacious enough, and the bathroom was large and very clean. The hair iron I requested had also been prepared in the Room in advance. The TV was very large and impressive—perfect for watching from the bed—but the sofa was positioned too close to the TV, making it hard to watch comfortably. Also, when opening the bathroom door, it reflects in the large mirror at the sink directly in front of it, making it visible from the bed, which bothered me. The Hotel itself is convenient because you can reach it from the station through an underground passage without getting wet even on rainy days. However, since reception is on B1, when going out you have to go down to B1 first and then either transfer to another elevator or take an escalator up to 1F, which is a bit inconvenient. Because it faces Shijo Street, there are convenience stores, restaurants, and department stores nearby so it’s very convenient—but at night the noise of motorcycles passing by is loud. Since it’s a clean Hotel close to the station and more than sufficient for a No Meals Included stay, I would like to use it again.

    Great.

    Because the weather was great over the three-day weekend, Hotels were expensive everywhere, so I stayed here for the first time. It was a quick trip and I only needed a place to sleep, but the Room was cleaner and more comfortable than expected. The front desk and lounge are in the basement and felt very spacious. In the lounge, I could enjoy Tsujiri matcha latte and Japanese sake. Having a separate bath and toilet at this price point is greatly appreciated. The bathroom was also large and clean. The washbasin area is a bit small, but acceptable. As mentioned in other Reviews, most guests were foreigners; from what I saw, we were among the few Japanese guests. It felt a little unusual, but it was quiet at night and comfortable. I visit Kyoto often, so I’ll consider staying here again.

    As always, clean and comfortable.

    I have stayed at this Hotel several times since it first opened. This time, I booked again after a long while because there was a very good-value Plan available. Needless to say, the location is convenient, and the cleanliness was just as good as it was at the beginning. The complimentary drink service that you can use casually is also unchanged, so my stay was very comfortable. If all Rooms had bathrooms with a separate washing area, it would be perfect, but that can’t be helped. The refrigerator in my Room was quite loud and occasionally bothered me, so I would appreciate it if you could check it once. This time I took the bus to the Imperial Palace, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, and around Nijo Castle—all easily accessible from the bus stop near the Hotel. This is a recommended Hotel for anyone who wants to get around and do lots of sightseeing.

    Thoughts

    I chose this place for two reasons! First, the bath and toilet are separate. Second, I had stayed at Forza Kanazawa before and was satisfied because they had a wide variety of breakfast options. The bath was good, but the breakfast was terrible. It was the worst I’ve ever had. It felt like they were serving leftovers. Even though it was a late time (around 9:00), there was really only sausage and bacon left to eat. The salad vegetables were dried out, and I couldn’t even tell whether there was any dressing available or not. It seems they didn’t even have fish dishes (salmon or grilled fish) on the menu... Also, it was described in a way that made it sound like Rooms along Shijo Street were preferable, and I wanted a view too, so I chose that—but... I was bothered by extremely loud motorcycle noise in the middle of the night... And the “view” was just the building in front! I learned a lot from this experience.

    This Hotel is located right in the heart of Kyoto.

    Facing Shijo Street and just a short walk to Kawaramachi, Pontocho, and Nishiki Market, it’s an ideal location for sightseeing. It’s a bit of a walk from the subway station, but manageable if you’re traveling light. The entrance is compact and easy to miss, but once inside it feels spacious, and the lobby lounge was very comfortable. It was great to have free 24-hour access to a drink machine offering coffee, cafe au lait, and even matcha latte, and being able to enjoy one complimentary cup of sake was another nice touch.

    A Relaxing Accommodation

    I always stay here when visiting Kyoto. The room is simply equipped with all the essentials, without any unnecessary items, making it very convenient. With slightly dim lighting and a quiet room, I was able to relax comfortably. This time, during the strongest cold wave, I opened the floor-to-ceiling blinds at night and enjoyed the beautiful sight of snow falling from above and swirling up from below. The location is very convenient for getting anywhere, which I really appreciate. The front desk staff were very kind and had wonderful smiles. This is an accommodation I hope will remain unchanged in its charm. I will definitely stay here again!

    Somewhat satisfied, solo trip

    The location is excellent. The Hotel has a beautiful interior. My only complaint about the Room was that the lighting was a bit dim. I think I will stay here again next time.

    I was satisfied.

    I stayed here during my first New Year’s shrine visit in Kyoto in a long time. As you would expect these days, the stay was very affordable, which I truly appreciated. The room and wash area felt designed with international guests in mind—spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent, and I enjoyed central Kyoto both day and night. Thank you very much.

    Convenient location for getting anywhere.

    I stayed at the accommodation to see the Kabuki performance at Minamiza. It was very convenient for going to Minamiza after 10 a.m. in the morning. The room was clean, and I had a comfortable sleep. However, there was no explanation about services like coffee during check-in, so I deducted one star for that. Later, I discovered a coffee machine and saw people making their own coffee, so I tried it too. It's nice to have such services available. Apparently, there was alcohol as well—I found out after returning home. Next time, I'd like to try the alcohol too!

    Conveniently located in the city center

    This was my first time using this accommodation. It was convenient and close to Minami-za Theatre. Most guests were from overseas, and I didn’t encounter any Japanese guests. The Room was a bit small but functional as it was new.

    This time was a bit disappointing.

    This is probably my 6th or 7th stay. The location is excellent, making it convenient to go anywhere even on rainy days. I enjoyed using the face steamer in the Room. However, I felt a bit disappointed during both check-in and check-out this time. Before 2 PM, I sat on a chair next to the front desk and lined up at the counter as soon as it turned 2 PM. But then I was handed a number card and told, "We apologize, but since there are guests in a hurry to check-in, please take this card and wait in the lounge." It made me feel like they were implying that we weren’t in any rush ourselves. If they had been distributing number cards before 2 PM, it would have been nice if they had informed us earlier so we could understand better... Additionally, when checking out, I asked for my luggage to be stored temporarily and returned about an hour later to retrieve it. When I said "Thank you!" to the woman handing over my luggage, she responded with silence and no expression at all. I understand how busy things can get; however, when a customer expresses gratitude with clear words (not quietly), being met with complete silence feels disheartening. This was my first experience of such cold treatment from front desk staff at any Hotel I've stayed at before. While I'm satisfied with both the Hotel Room and amenities overall—well—these kinds of experiences can happen during travel sometimes!

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay. When I turned on the air purifier, the floor became covered in dust, which was a negative point. It was a very hot day and I wanted to use the laundry facilities, but I was a bit surprised to see an overseas guest changing clothes while doing laundry. Overall it was good, so I would like to stay again.

    The usual comfort

    I always make a Reservation here when I go to Kyoto. This time, I was able to spend a relaxing time in a comfortable and quiet space. There were many overseas guests, and everyone enjoyed the lounge. This time, I discovered some really nice shops near the Hotel, making it a truly convenient Hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming with smiles! I would like to stay here again next time. Thank you for taking care of me.

    There is no partition between the bathroom and the bedroom, and the quality/type of amenities is not good, so I would rate it three stars. The meals were average. The location was the only excellent aspect.
