    It was amazing!

    I’ve stayed at other Dormy Inn Hotels several times on business trips, and everything—cleanliness, the Onsen, and the meals—has always been excellent. This time we visited for a family trip, and my wife and child were thrilled. It made our trip truly enjoyable, and we’d love to stay again!

    It was a very enjoyable trip.

    We stayed for two nights and were looking forward to the breakfast buffet. Both the clam miso soup and the eggplant miso soup were delicious. Our child spread jam on toast and happily said it was tasty. One of the chefs always had a big smile, and we were truly impressed by the warm service.\n\nWe used a twin Room, and it was very comfortable. During the July three-day weekend, perhaps because of the high outdoor temperature, the foot bath wasn’t crowded, and our child really enjoyed it.\n\nWe could also rent bicycles and go shopping nearby. The coin laundry offered free washing with paid drying, which was an amazing value.\n\nChichibunomiya Memorial Park is right in front of the Hotel, and our child went there calling it an “adventure.” Unlike a typical park, it feels close to nature—we found Japanese skinks and grasshoppers, and relaxing in the shade was cool and fun.\n\nThis is a Hotel we would love to stay at again.

    The meals are delicious.

    This was my first stay. The Room air conditioner smelled musty and I couldn’t use it, but the thick, sturdy curtains helped me sleep soundly until morning. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The dishes were all carefully prepared and delicious, and the staff were very kind. I’d like to stay again for the breakfast.

    I was very surprised by the way the Korean staff at the front desk handled things.

    At check-in, I was assisted by a man who looked unkempt (his shirt was untucked) and whose language and attitude were both rude, which made me feel very uncomfortable from the start. This might be acceptable in some overseas business settings, but it was the first time I experienced such service at a Hotel in Japan, and I was very disappointed. The Room also had an unusual lingering odor, which raised concerns about the cleaning. My previous stay was excellent, so I had high expectations this time, but it ended up being disappointing. The late-night soba and welcome jelly were delicious.

    Mount Fuji

    On the morning of our departure, I looked out the window and saw the clouds drifting in the breeze, revealing Mount Fuji. I was very happy to be able to see it.

    My favorite Dormy Inn with consistently high satisfaction

    I visit Gotemba a few times a year for shopping, but this was my first stay at Dormy Inn Gotemba near Mt. Fuji. I moved here from the Hotel closest to Gotemba Premium Outlets where I stayed the night before. The location is not as convenient for outlet shopping as that Hotel, but in every other respect this Dormy Inn exceeded my expectations. One point I strongly hope will be improved is the drinking fountain in the bath area. As with Dormy Inn Kawasaki, it is an old-style type where you drink directly from the spout. Since there is also an excellent sauna, it makes it hard to hydrate properly. A water dispenser would feel cleaner and more comfortable. Perhaps because it is a little farther from Gotemba Premium Outlets, there were fewer inbound guests, and bathing manners were well observed, so I felt very at ease throughout my stay.

    I’m glad the weather was nice!

    The weather forecast 3–4 days ago predicted rain, but it turned out sunny. We were very satisfied with the view of Mt. Fuji from the rooftop. The bath was also great. For breakfast, the pork stew and the rice porridge with whitebait were very delicious.

    Online Payment

    I made an Online Credit Card Payment around 11:30 on the day of my stay, but it was not reflected on Dormy Inn's system at check-in. While I acknowledge my mistake in making a double payment with my credit card due to misunderstanding the online payment process, I can't help but feel distrustful about why the payment wasn't reflected—perhaps there is an issue with the system operation? The front desk staff handled the situation sincerely, so there were no problems in that regard. However, I am still worried because the cancellation for the double payment has not yet been processed by my credit card company. There were many foreign guests staying, and some were sitting on the floor reading manga in the rental area, which gave me a sense of insecurity compared to other accommodations I've used before. The Onsen changing room was particularly small and did not allow for comfortable preparation. Since I was traveling with an elderly companion, I felt that chairs near lockers would have been helpful. This accommodation seems more suitable for young and energetic guests rather than elderly visitors.

    The breakfast is of high quality.

    This was my second stay at Gotemba Dormy. I have stayed at Korakuen, Mito, Izumo, and Lapista Tokyo, but this is my personal favorite. When heading from the parking lot to the front desk, a Hotel staff member greeted me with "Welcome" even from a distance. It's a small gesture, but not many Hotels do this. It made me feel good even before check-in. Check-in is recommended via machine; however, the Hotel staff provided prior guidance which felt very courteous. The breakfast featured many local dishes and seemed slightly higher in quality compared to other Dormy locations. The meals were well-prepared and I thoroughly enjoyed them again this time—completely satisfied! The Room was in a quiet location where I could relax deeply and rest well. Since it was early summer, the water when washing my face in the morning felt pleasantly cool—not too cold—which made me appreciate Gotemba's excellent water quality for the first time. It left such an impression that I wanted to wash my face with that water again! Although I'm not fond of cold baths, next time I might give it a try for just a bit. I can't wait to visit again soon!

    High customer satisfaction with our services

    I was looking forward to enjoying the view of Mt. Fuji while soaking my feet in the footbath, but unfortunately, it was cloudy and I couldn't see it at all. However, everything else was perfect and very satisfying.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    This was my second stay. I had a very comfortable time. My Room was upgraded to one with a view of Mt. Fuji, but unfortunately, it was cloudy, which was disappointing. However, I appreciate the thoughtful gesture. For breakfast, I enjoyed the pork stew last time, but this time the pork had a strong smell and I couldn't finish it. I hope to enjoy delicious pork stew again next time!

    Mount Fuji from the Observation Floor

    The morning was covered in thick fog, making it hard to see even the car ahead, let alone Mount Fuji. The rain and wind added to the gloomy mood, but by evening, the rain stopped. I decided to visit the observation floor and was moved by the sight of Mount Fuji standing clearly against a vivid red sky. The lantern-style lights near the footbath added a charming touch to this beautiful scenery. Check-in and check-out were done via machines, so I had little interaction with Hotel staff, which felt a bit lonely.

    The building is new, clean, and quiet.

    At Dormy Inn Gotemba, there was an announcement about breakfast price increases starting in June 2025. However, without seafood bowls and with only "Mikuriya Soba" leaving an impression, it was quite disappointing. Moving forward, the title of "King of Breakfast" will no longer be associated with Dormy Inn.

    Enjoyable Accommodation After Outlet Shopping

    Stayed at the accommodation after visiting Gotemba Outlet. Since meals were not included, I visited a famous nearby restaurant. I tried to arrange a taxi, but none were available. In this situation, I borrowed an electric bicycle. Free for up to 2 hours and must be returned by 22:00. Cycling around Gotemba City was more enjoyable than taking a taxi! Next time, I'd like to rent it in the morning as well. The late-night soba noodles, ice cream service, and lactic acid drinks that Dormy Inn is known for were greatly appreciated! Every time I think, "What a great deal!" and feel happy about it. The manga corner is also well-stocked. And the bath facilities are excellent! Indoor baths, open-air baths, and saunas are all available—perfect for relaxation! The projection of Mt. Fuji on the open-air bath was soothing as well. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the rooftop footbath due to timing issues—something to look forward to next time. There’s also a detailed local map that will be helpful for my next visit. Located in such a great area where you can enjoy both shopping and sightseeing—it’s truly an excellent accommodation. For breakfast last time, I went to a famous pancake shop just 2 minutes away on foot; however, the portion size was underwhelming. Next time I'll definitely have breakfast at Dormy Inn instead. The staff provided warm smiles and pleasant service throughout my stay. Overall—a place worth revisiting! I'll definitely come again! Dormy Inn really is wonderful!

    I had a very good sleep.

    This was my third Dormy experience. I was a bit concerned about the "Express" being more simplified, as I had read somewhere, but apart from the lack of a safety box, there were no issues at all. It was excellent! There were many international guests. I usually stay at CLAD since my trips are always for outlet shopping, but from now on, I'll choose this Hotel instead. The Hotel is clean, parking is nearby, and the Room is spacious and tidy. We stayed in a Room with a view of cherry blossoms; seeing them right upon entering was breathtaking! At night they were lit up beautifully—such an elegant and stunning sight. I didn’t know about the cherry blossom-lined path before coming here; it was great to discover it during this stay. The bath area felt slightly smaller compared to others I've visited; it might feel cramped if crowded. However, going during less busy times solves that issue perfectly fine. Breakfast offered plenty of Western options along with various pork dishes and delicious white rice as expected—but personally, I found their bread exceptionally tasty! There were also puddings and desserts available with an impressive variety overall. The pillows were incredibly comfortable—so much so that even my mother (who usually snores) didn’t snore at all! When we asked about purchasing one at the front desk, they kindly provided detailed information. Overall, we had an absolutely satisfying stay. We plan to return again soon—thank you in advance!

    I would like to stay here again.

    In January, I stayed for three nights at Kyoto Nono Shichijo and had a wonderful experience. While planning a three-night trip around Mt. Fuji, I searched for accommodations near Gotemba and came across this hotel, which immediately caught my interest. The result? It exceeded my expectations for the price! ● Facility: Unlike Kyoto, you can wear your shoes all the way to your room here. However, thick-soled sandals (slippers?) are provided in the room for moving around inside the facility. The facility was kept very clean overall. ● Guest Room: Since it was a short one-night stay, I chose the most affordable room type. Compared to Kyoto, storage space was limited and there wasn’t a seating area in the shower booth. That said, considering it was an affordable reservation due to weekday pricing, it worked out well! The guest room itself was clean and pleasant. The bedroom is separated by a proper door which greatly enhances air conditioning efficiency—this feature is truly excellent! Having this door makes a significant difference in noise reduction and air conditioning performance compared to not having one. ● Service: As our stay was short with only one night booked, we didn’t have many interactions with staff members; however, the gentleman in a suit who handled our check-in provided exceptional service. Just like in Kyoto, we felt that their hospitality alone made us want to return again—a sentiment my spouse and I shared during our stay! They also smoothly handled requests such as exchanging sizes of loungewear or providing additional towels. ● Onsen: Perhaps due to bad weather on the previous day, the facility seemed quite empty overall which allowed us to enjoy an uncrowded onsen experience comfortably. The washroom area, changing rooms as well as onsen were all maintained impeccably clean—it was fantastic! ● Facilities & Amenities: Similar to Kyoto’s location—the complimentary services offered here are outstanding too! One minor suggestion would be increasing seating availability at waiting areas near post-onsen spaces; although not crowded during our visit there were moments when seats weren’t available making meeting up slightly inconvenient. ● Dining: Having enjoyed breakfast immensely at their Kyoto property previously—I opted again for breakfast-inclusive booking this time around too—and wasn’t disappointed either! Local pork dishes alongside soba noodles stood out particularly well amidst offerings while dining remained comfortable without any crowding likely owing partly towards prior day’s inclement weather conditions. This marks my second Dormy Inn experience now—and once more impressed thoroughly especially regarding staff hospitality levels shown throughout stays thus far surely leaving lasting impressions positively indeed!! Next time perhaps opting longer multiple night stays within larger spacious rooms planned ahead accordingly!!

    I want to make it my regular accommodation.

    This was my second stay. I stayed for two nights while visiting the outlet and sightseeing in Hakone. The location is convenient for traveling by car, with plenty of nearby dining options and a supermarket close by. Toraya Kobo is also just a short distance away. The late-night soba was delicious, and the Onsen provided great relaxation. I would love to stay here again!

    I used Dormy Inn Fuji-san for the first time, and I was very pleased with the bath. The surroundings are also lush and quiet, allowing for a relaxing stay. I would like to use it again.

    I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, but this is my first time booking a twin room through IKYU. The room is spacious and comfortably designed, and it also provides a real Fuji hot spring. The parking is so convenient, making it an absolute top choice for a self-driving trip to Mt. Fuji.....

    Hotel Life

    The facility was new and pleasant to use. The breakfast was particularly delicious, with the rice being exceptional. The pork miso soup and soba were also warm and satisfying. The Onsen facility was kept clean, allowing for a pleasant experience.

    A clean and nice hotel to stay at.

    The hotel was very convenient as it was close to the interchange. It was a twin room, but the beds were spacious, the firmness was just right, and it was very comfortable to sleep in. The shampoo bar and the latest hairdryer in the large public bath, as well as the security, were good. At night, there weren't many places to go nearby, so it was nice that they provided night soba and ice candies. However, the clock in the room was 12 hours off with AM/PM display, and even though I set the alarm, I ended up oversleeping. Other than that, I thought it was very good.

    A hotel where you can relax and unwind

    This is my second time staying here. I traveled by car, and it's convenient as it's close to the IC and also near the Gotemba Outlet. The bath is very warming for the body. Personally, I like the cold bath being at 12 degrees, which is very refreshing. As for the meals, there is a service where you can get complimentary soba as a late-night snack, and ice cream is provided after the bath, which is very satisfying. The breakfast offers a wide variety, allowing you to enjoy a small amount of many different types, which is also satisfying. I think it's best to check in early and enjoy the hot springs. I would like to visit again.
