    It was very clean.

    The Hotel overall and the Room were clean. The downside was that the Wi-Fi was slow, which was disappointing. However, they lent me a pocket Wi-Fi.

    The price does not match.

    I added breakfast because many Reviews said it was delicious, but it was completely average—just a typical Business Hotel breakfast. The Room options only face the parking lot or the neighboring building, so it’s not suitable for anyone who dislikes a closed-in feeling. The Onsen also has a strong chlorine smell, so it’s not for those who want to enjoy an Onsen or the view. I don’t think it offers good value for money. Disappointing. The only decent point is that the service isn’t bad. The record player forced into every Room is nothing but in the way.

    Onsen Hopping

    I stayed in Dogo Onsen (Dogo Hakuro) for three nights in Ehime to enjoy an Onsen-hopping trip. It’s a stylish Onsen Hotel with a great sense of cleanliness, and I had a very comfortable stay. Breakfast lived up to its reputation—everything, including the vegetables, was very fresh and delicious. Dogo is also famous as Japan’s oldest Onsen town, with free-flowing natural hot spring water that truly leaves your skin looking brighter and feeling smooth. (My skin was in terrible condition due to hay fever, so I especially noticed the benefits.) There are also footbaths and day-use baths around the Hotel, as well as Dogo Onsen Honkan, Asuka no Yu, and Tsubaki no Yu. It was fun visiting different baths while wearing a yukata. They also lend you a basket to carry towels when you go out, which was very helpful. I’m currently traveling solo with the goal of visiting The whole country, and Ehime (Dogo Onsen), my 43rd prefecture, became a wonderful memory as a town known for its strong hot spring benefits. Thank you very much.

    I’ve always wanted to visit Dogo Onsen at least once.

    I finally got to visit Dogo Onsen, which I’d been wanting to see for a long time. It was easy to stay here, and having an Onsen in the Hotel made it very comfortable. When I asked in advance about the distance to the Hotel, I was told it might be too close for a taxi and the driver might not be happy, and that most people walk. I did walk with my luggage, but pulling a suitcase was really difficult—there are sections with stone paving as well—so it was quite a struggle. If you have luggage, I strongly recommend taking a taxi. Even though it’s a Business Hotel, they provided yukata robes, geta sandals, indoor slippers, and even socks, which was great. When they brought me a smaller-size yukata, they also brought smaller-size geta—thank you for your thoughtful service. The Room is small, but you can still open a small suitcase, and if you’re traveling alone it’s more than comfortable enough. The sink area and toilet were clean and well designed for ease of use. It was also nice that amenities such as lotion were available both at the Onsen and at the front desk. I also appreciated having genmaicha and hojicha tea bags in the Room. It’s usually only coffee and green tea everywhere else—and since I normally bring my own hojicha when traveling, this was a very welcome touch. Dogo Onsen itself didn’t really feel like “an Onsen” at all (my family who stayed at another Hotel said the same). The water wasn’t particularly impressive either, but walking around the area was enjoyable.

    A New Onsen Hotel Experience

    It felt like a casual-style Onsen Hotel that’s easy to use and easy to return to. My friend and I each stayed in separate single rooms. In the evening, we visited Dogo Onsen Honkan and ate sea bream rice at a restaurant outside. The Hotel was functional, had an Onsen, and the breakfast was just right. I also recommend it for trips with female friends.

    Trip with Friends

    This Hotel made my first trip to Dogo Onsen even more enjoyable, meaningful, and relaxing. The Room and bath were clean, and the staff were kind and wonderful. The breakfast was outstanding—carefully prepared to bring out the best in the ingredients, and truly delicious. Thank you for taking such great care of me.

    I stayed one night in Dogo Onsen to see the Mantra Cave at Ishige Shrine. A clean, reasonably priced Business Hotel. There is a large public bath on the first floor, with a ReFa hair dryer. The young men and women at the front desk were very polite and handled everything calmly.

    A Compact and Comfortable Space

    It was a nicely compact Hotel, and I had a comfortable stay. Not only the room, but also the Onsen and dining area were very clean, making it a pleasant experience. It was also close to the Dogo Onsen hot spring town, so I could really enjoy the feeling of being on a trip.

    A Stylish Dormy Inn

    I stayed at the neighboring Dogo Miyu in 2022 and it was wonderful, so I decided to stay at this sister Accommodation as well. This is an Accommodation perfect for business trips or solo travel—a highly functional Hotel designed on a level comparable to Dormy Inn. It’s also stylish, with a record player in the Room and Casa BRUTUS available in the lobby. Breakfast is substantial too, and considering today’s rising prices, the overall satisfaction is very high. The timing of rebuilding Hoso was also before construction costs surged, so the building is impressive, and every time I pass by I think what truly excellent management this is.

    Staying at Dogo Hakuro

    It was a clean Hotel with stylish interior design. The food was also delicious, and I was very satisfied. I was especially surprised to find LP records. I enjoyed them for a while.

    A perfectly sized Hotel with thoughtful attention to detail

    Thank you for your hospitality. It is in a great location, close to Dogo Onsen Honkan. The Hotel is on the small side, but that’s actually a plus, and the front desk staff were very helpful. The large public bath was relaxing—great! Personally, I like their approach of having guests eat dinner out. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and it’s fun to look for one while taking a walk. Breakfast was just the right amount—no waste—which I really appreciated. Thoughtful touches like takeaway coffee when leaving and towels to wipe car windows dirtied by snowy roads left a lasting impression. This is a Hotel that makes you want to stay again.

    It was great.

    It is close to Dogo Onsen, and both the Facility and the bath were clean, so we had a very comfortable stay. We would like to use it again when we visit Dogo Onsen.

    Best Value Hotel

    With this location, including breakfast, yukata, haori, and an onsen for under 14,000 yen per night for two people, the value is truly impressive. The breakfast was delicious, and both the shared and private areas were clean with no complaints at all. I would love to stay here again.

    Stylish Onsen Hotel Although there seemed to be a fair number of guests, it was very quiet with almost no noise from the hallways or neighboring rooms, making it a great hotel for a relaxing stay.

    The room was too small.

    First, I was surprised by how small the room was. On top of that, a large record player took up more than half of the already tiny table. It was so obstructive that I couldn’t even enjoy tea or do my makeup. While it might have been intended to enhance comfort, it felt counterproductive. Perhaps it would be better to offer it only upon request? There was also a humidifier in the room, but it had no water in it. When I tried to fill it up, the angle of the faucet in the sink made it impossible to use directly. Since there was only a showerhead in the bathroom, I had no choice but to use a mug and refill multiple times manually. I’m not sure what that setup is about... I didn’t try the Onsen, so I can’t evaluate that part. The meals were average at best. Considering the price point, overall satisfaction was low.

    Favorite Accommodation

    I stay here every time I have business in Matsuyama. The addition of a shared bicycle service at the back has made it even more convenient. Since smart TVs are still rare in accommodations in Ehime, this is a valuable place for those who want to relax and watch videos at night in the Dogo area.

    Comfort proportional to the price

    Conveniently close to Dogo Onsen Honkan and slightly away from the bustling downtown, the environment is ideal. While most of the prior requests were accommodated, the "quiet" aspect was compromised as loud noises from adjacent or upper floors persisted late at night, possibly due to the building's structure. We extended our stay by an hour for an additional fee, intending to rest, but the cleaning noise from the neighboring room, which had already checked out, disrupted this plan. It would be appreciated if such considerations were communicated to the staff. The breakfast was excellent, especially the freshly made French toast, which was delicious. Other dishes were also tasty, and having three types of soup was a pleasant surprise. While the breakfast area was comfortable after settling in, the strong smell of natto was a bit disappointing. Although I can eat natto, is it really necessary? The room and amenities were satisfactory. Considering the onsen culture and multiple baths, providing two towels per person, even for a one-night stay, would be ideal. The complimentary water bottle was a nice touch. Regarding the record player, while it may be inspired by a certain Ace Hotel, the needle was worn out, and the records were poorly maintained. Even after borrowing different records, skipping and repeating were frequent, rendering it useless. Removing the player would free up table space, and if maintenance is not feasible, it might be better to discontinue it. For reference, the original Ace Hotel maintains theirs exceptionally well. Despite these suggestions, the cost-performance ratio for a short stay is good, and I would consider staying again. I hope this feedback is helpful.

    It was more comfortable than I imagined.

    It was my first stay. Although it was a busy schedule with just one night, I was comforted by the kindness of the staff. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the record player in the Room due to exhaustion, but I hope to visit again if I have another chance. This Hotel offers a unique experience different from luxury hotels and is highly recommended.

    A stylish Hotel. Comfortable even for solo travelers.

    Since my stay was in April, this review is quite delayed, but I wanted to share my thoughts as the experience was simple yet thoughtful. This was my sixth visit to Dogo and my first time staying at this hotel. The facility is very clean. While it has a design hotel vibe, the staff were surprisingly gentle and soothing rather than overly trendy. One unique feature of the room is that you can listen to records (vinyl), which adds a nice touch, especially for solo travelers who might otherwise feel lonely. In Dogo, there’s some distance between the station and certain hotels, but you can enjoy walking through the town on your way. When I arrived, I walked from the station to the hotel with my luggage; however, the slope leading up to the hotel was steeper than expected. That said, this was something I anticipated from checking maps beforehand—so for those arriving by car, access should be much easier. After enjoying a soak at Dogo Onsen Honkan, strolling back leisurely to the hotel made for a relaxing end to an enjoyable day.

    I stayed here for a solo trip. The public bath and breakfast were comfortable and excellent! I was happy that the lounge was available for free during certain hours, and I could enjoy coffee. Great value for money, and I would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    I had a relaxing time.

    This was my first time visiting Dogo Onsen, and I chose this accommodation for its good value, parking availability, and proximity to Dogo Onsen. The room was a bit small but not inconvenient. The bath was an onsen with an open-air bath, so I didn’t need to go elsewhere to enjoy the hot springs. Additionally, the location is perfect for enjoying a hot spring tour, and the drink service was a nice touch.

    I have visited Dogo ...

    I have visited Dogo many times, but this time I stayed here as it was reasonably priced for a solo trip. The sound from the record in the Room was barely audible, and since there was only one record provided in the Room, I found it unnecessary.
