  Even at a Hotel with No Meals Included, you can still enjoy a fulfilling trip with plenty of nearby facilities.

  This Hotel mainly caters to guests with No Meals Included plans, but the Rooms are clean and comfortable. The lounge has a coffee machine, tea bags, a microwave, and plastic wrap, so you can prepare a simple meal. About a 3-minute walk away, there is a roadside station and a bathing Facility; from 8:30 a.m., you can also enjoy a morning set meal and buy freshly baked bread. This Hotel offers excellent value for money.

  The roadside station is quiet...!

  The Hotel is conveniently located near a roadside station, so we planned to relax there and have lunch and dinner. However, perhaps because it was a weekday, the shops were very quiet. The restaurants closed as early as 5:00 PM (last order at 4:30 PM), so we had no choice but to go to the bakery inside the roadside station. Unfortunately, there weren’t many kinds of bread, which made it hard to choose. I felt it’s best to prepare dinner in advance. The Hotel’s free lounge was very convenient, with a large communal table and instant miso soup available. I would like to stay again.

  Straight from the station, easy to find.

  I loved the iron-style Room, which was smart and comfortable. It’s a 10-minute walk from the station, almost straight with no chance of getting lost. I would love to stay here again.

  The Miraculous Marriott in the Mountain Village

  Stayed during the last week of March. It was my first time staying at an international hotel outside a major city, but despite its compact size, the Marriott design was evident and exciting. An interesting concept combining the adjacent roadside station's onsen and restaurant for enjoyment. I had breakfast at the café there, which featured a lovely fireplace, and I appreciated the Nagoya-style service where bread and salad came with drink orders. From Gujo-Yamato Station to Gujo-Hachiman is about 15 minutes by car or 20 minutes by train. Checking the schedule (as trains run less than once per hour) and taking the Nagaragawa Railway could be fun too. Gujo-Hachiman was truly a beautiful place. The cherry blossoms were about a week early this time. I’d love to stay longer next time!
