A wonderful Accommodation with a touch of Japanese charm

The location was excellent right in front of the station, and the lobby smelled wonderful with calming lighting. The open-air bath in the garden felt a bit smaller than it looked in the photos. There were curtains for privacy from nearby buildings, but I think it would feel more open if the wall were higher and there were no curtains. The area by the door was narrow, and the sink was small, so I had to be careful not to splash water. A slightly larger bowl-shaped sink would be better. The large public bath had dim lighting that felt relaxing and soothing. The ice cream and cold tea were also delicious. Breakfast was gorgeous and tasty as well, though I couldn’t finish it—sorry. What was really disappointing was how loud the footsteps from guests on the second floor were; they echoed a lot and irritated me. I came for a relaxing staycation, so it made me sad.

    With a 2-year-old child

It was a quiet, relaxing, and stylish Accommodation. From the Setagaya-Daita ticket gate, the lush green path felt like arriving at a sightseeing spot you wouldn’t expect to find in the city center—it was wonderful. The late-night ochazuke and breakfast were both delicious, the Room was spotless, and I slept soundly—an amazing staycation. I worried the bath might be crowded if there were day-use guests, but it wasn’t at all; both at night and in the morning I had it all to myself, which was great. It was very clean as well. There is no cleansing oil or face wash in the bath area, so be sure to bring your own from your Room. I couldn’t make it to the tea lounge or bar because I was already full, but everything looked delicious. My child happened to be quiet so it was fine, but since this is a calm Accommodation, energetic kids might stand out. I didn’t see many families with children. Also, there are shoji screens in the Room, so if you have a child who might tear them you may feel on edge during your stay. At meals they provided a child’s chair and cutlery for us, which was extremely helpful. Going far for an Onsen can be tough, but here you can relax and enjoy an Onsen and great food with satisfaction comparable to an Onsen resort—right in central Tokyo—so I highly recommend it!

    Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your hospitality. The bath was wonderful, and the breakfast was also plentiful with many healthy options. My son who lives in Tokyo stopped by to take a break and enjoy the bath, and we really appreciated being able to relax until it was time to go out for a meal. We would love to visit again.

I’m satisfied because I can relax and take my time every visit. If the breakfast menu changed from time to time, it would make my stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for your consideration.

    The walk from the st...

The walk from the station to the Accommodation felt like a sightseeing spot—an oasis in the city. It didn’t feel cheap, and I think even discerning guests would be satisfied. The Room was small but very clean. We booked No Meals Included, but the complimentary late-night ochazuke was authentic, like something from a traditional Japanese restaurant, and it was delicious. The large public bath had a calming atmosphere, and we were able to spend a peaceful time there. However, for a bath area the lighting was quite dim, which felt unsafe. It would be nice if at least more lighting could be added around the floor. The coffee milk after the bath was sold out, which was disappointing because I had been looking forward to it. The batteries in the TV remote were dead and staff helped us with it; the female staff member who assisted us was very kind.

    風の迷路

In the heart of the city

An elegant Accommodation close to the station, yet quietly nestled along a leafy walkway. The Room I stayed in wasn’t large, but it had everything I needed. The Onsen was relaxing, and the meals were delicious. I don’t usually eat breakfast, so I felt sorry for leaving some. In hindsight, I should have consulted in advance—such as asking to reduce the number of dishes.

    Minimal and Urban Onsen Accommodation

Positive Points: - A relaxing accommodation located in the city center, perfect for when you lack time or energy for an onsen trip. - Within walking distance to new spots in Shimokitazawa, or you can simply enjoy your stay at the accommodation. - A minimalistic and urban onsen accommodation. - The food has rich flavors and pairs excellently with alcohol. Concerns: The slipperiness of the large public bath floor and mold on the walls were noticeable.

    I felt relaxed.

The ryokan offers a relaxing atmosphere that feels far removed from the city, despite its convenient location near the station. Surrounded by trees, it gives the impression of being at a mountain onsen ryokan, creating a unique and tranquil experience in Tokyo. I chose the breakfast-included plan, which featured a variety of dishes that complemented rice perfectly. The grilled fish was particularly large and satisfying. The late-night ochazuke service was also a delightful touch. The onsen had an ideal temperature, and I enjoyed the texture of the water. One downside was the placement of the sink in the room. As mentioned in other reviews, water tended to splash around when using it, which was slightly disappointing. While prices are on the higher side, this ryokan provides an experience rarely found so close to central Tokyo. I would recommend it to those who value such unique offerings.

A quiet forest retreat, just a 1-minute walk from Odakyu Line Setagaya-Daita Station.

A wonderful auberge. The dinner course was prepared right in front of us by the head chef, and every dish was crafted with care and left a lasting impression. The tenderness of the abalone and the quality of the Tokyo beef were exceptional. The Onsen water transported from Hakone felt as if we had visited Lake Ashi itself, with its excellent quality. Three requests: 1. Please address mosquito control. I was bitten on my face in the open-air bath but had no medication, and none was available at the accommodation, so I endured the itchiness. 2. Despite having a corner room, I couldn't sleep due to noise from several motors installed outside (thank you for changing my room so I could rest). Could this issue be resolved? 3. The music played in the restaurant consisted of repetitive four-bar phrases that made dining alone feel overwhelming; it would be great to switch to something more pleasant to listen to. Overall, it’s a perfect score!

A Different World in the City

A serene atmosphere reminiscent of a retreat flows through the property. While both the Room and garden are compact, the combination of greenery in the inner garden, interplay of light and shadow indoors, background music, and pleasant scents creates a harmonious effect. The dinner course offers not only seasonal ingredients but also ample portions. Additionally, the tea and coffee provided in the Room were delightful, allowing for complete relaxation even during a short stay. The only downside was that the floor in the public bath area was slippery. Perhaps due to design priorities, there were few handrails, which led to some uneasy moments. It would be appreciated if improvements could be made for safer use. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay, and I would love to visit again!
